Topgolf is basically like a fancy bowling alley, but for golf. It's fun for adults, kids, families, and even people who have never played golf before. They also provide children's clubs if you ask. The setup is simple: everyone takes turns hitting balls at targets. When it's not your turn, you're just hanging out on the couch, snacking, sipping drinks, chatting, or watching everyone else play. The food is mostly shareable bar-style food -- nothing particularly amazing, but it fits the vibe well. There are also a few indoor games to keep people entertained while waiting around. We usually go with family or friends, though I've also seen a lot of company team-building events hosted here. The main downside is the cost. The hourly bay rates can get pretty expensive during peak hours, and once you add food and drinks, a visit can easily become pricey. We sometimes buy the gift cards from Costco, which basically works out to about 20% off. We've also purchased the summer pass the last two years, which gives unlimited visits for the pass holder and guests. That said, on weekends you still need to arrive early to grab one of the bays reserved for summer pass holders. read more

Great addition to the Peninsula! Been here a few times and it's always a good experience. We've been able to do walk ins or book online very easily. The service is great with someone always coming around to check in on you. However, the prices do vary depending on the time that you go. We've been able to take advantage on the early morning promo - $20 per person from 9am-12pm. The only negative here is that the food isn't the best. Went to TopGolf for the first time and it was fun! I don't golf at all, but I still enjoyed it. Really nice, new building. You rent a "bay" to golf from. Each bay can seat 6 people and they have heat lamps! In order to have your name on the TV, you need to register an account online, which costs $6 (one-time junk fee). You can also share an account if your group doesn't care about keeping score. We booked a single bay on a Tuesday night for an hour and a half, this felt like about the right amount of time. There is some way that they track where your golf balls went, and then you get points based on the ball's trajectory and where it landed. There are various different games with different points structures. Also, you can order food, we split the nachos and three orders of boneless wings. They were tasty! Between a 3 and 4 - finally got the chance to try Topgolf for the first time everrrr! I was a little nervous because, ya know, you can miss or something when swinging on a driver for the first time but 'tis the time for growth :D Facility-wise - this place is very new and very shiny. Everything looks great - with the unfortunate exception that the outside air sometimes smell smells like waste water?? I'm guessing that's the only land available to construct this huge golf venue. The smell comes and goes, and I honestly didn't notice it too much, but the rest of the group complained (for those who have sensitive noses). Package-wise you do everything online - they do have half-off specials on less crowded timeslots but generally, you find something that works for you and your group, new players have to play a $6 initiation fee, and then you get your bay and you just start swinging. I don't know anything on golfing, but it seems like the equipment is fine in the gameplay is also fine - a similar pacing to bowling but obviously with golf. Food wise: I really liked their all-American burger - it is on the pricier side as expected with all food at entertainment place, but I thought it was really good and can actually stand alone (ie: eat without playing). We were also able to try the rest of the party platter which was basically the rest of the menu: chicken sliders, mozzarella balls,pretzel bites, and nachos. The rest of the food was as good as you'd expect - pretty decent, especially if you're a little buzzed. (Top Golf does offer a yearly membership, which allows you to go in for an included hour every month and I think he can also bring five friends with you so it's a very economical option if you stick to your guns (aka not buy extras) and live nearby.) Overall, I had a lot of fun and definitely great to try at least once. Fun, but can be a bit pricey. We generally go with a member so can play for free, but they have a promo Mon-Thursday where you can play half off. Pricing is by bay and I believe you can squeeze in up to 6 people. There's three floors to play from. The top level is cool bc you're high up and the bottom level feels different since you're actually right by the ground. We did nearly get hit by a ball once while on the bottom floor, but it's rare. I also saw someone lose their club from a higher level. Service is decent, they checked on us frequently. I liked the cushion seats to lounge in and the overhead heating. Some bays don't have the sofa loungers though, and heating automatically shuts off after one hour. The food is not very good though. It's like your typical standard bar/junk food. I usually stick to snacking on tater tots. It does get quite busy, so I would rec making a reservation a day or two in advance! We had an extremely disappointing experience with the front desk staff, especially the manager on duty. We were hosting a birthday party and brought a cake that needed refrigeration. Unfortunately, not only was our cake not placed in the refrigerator, but when we asked for an explanation, the manager simply stated that it was "company policy." We fully respect that Topgolf may have policies in place; however, as customers, we expect clear and respectful communication regarding those policies and the reasoning behind them. What made the situation especially frustrating was not just the policy itself, but the way it was handled. The manager provided no explanation, showed very little empathy, and made no effort to ensure we felt heard or valued as customers. Came here to celebrate my husband's birthday, and it was a blast! I loved every second of my time here! This was my first time playing "golf", outside of mini golf (I know... doesn't count. Don't come at me). I didn't know what to expect and was a bit intimated. We came on a weekday in the afternoon, with perfect weather (actually it was a chilly December afternoon, but their heaters are amaaazing). The employees at the front desk were nice and got us a bay immediately. Upon reaching our bay, instructions were easy to follow and we started playing immediately. Our server came fairly fast and asked if we needed anything, but all we needed were good vibes. Jk... but we didn't request anything, and I appreciated that someone would check on us every so often. The games itself were fun, especially for a noob like me. The only downside was that I would get points for (seemingly) no reason (blocks knocking down when it didn't seem like it should), which made my husband upset. Sorry not sorry. We thought the games were fun and definitely a nice touch to add when you're not as serious of a golfer. There were people who I could HEAR are golfers just by the sound of their swing..... they're definitely not playing the games. Entire space was clean, servers seemed active and were really friendly, bathrooms clean. We didn't eat, but the food looked good! The only reason I'm not rating this a 5 is because it is a little pricey imo. Topgolf is a magical place. Loved my burger with bacon. Played golf and I actually hit the best I ever have as a beginner. The membership is super cool because guests can play also. What an awesome place for a date, a pow wow, and any occasion really. The bathrooms were clean also. The Turkey club was pretty delicious as well. The garlic parmesan chicken nuggets were delicious and the pizza looked delish. This was our family's first time at Topgolf and everyone had a lot of fun. The entire concept is centered around being an interactive driving range. You can choose from different digital games ranging across levels of experience. My kids chose playing a Sonic game which was friendly for beginners. We didn't have a reservation but got slotted into a bay right away. When you get there, you check in at the monitor and select how long of a play time you want as well as enter in the player information and choose your game concept. It's really easy to add in more time to your play time later so you can start with a lower play time and feel out if you want to stay longer (assuming your bay is not reserved for another party after). Our waiter walked us through how to do everything as it was our first time. There is a $6 fee for anyone who hasn't been to Topgolf before, including kids. You can place food and drink orders with the server and they will also bring you a variety of different clubs to try out. It's nice to be able to snack on things while waiting for your turn to hit the ball. Food was pretty good, although very typical bar and grill type of fried food. The seats were comfortable and under a heat lamp so even though it was a cooler day, it was quite comfortable lounging in our bay, even without jackets. A fun, family friendly experience! read more

Recently started coming here and while it is pricey, it's a nice family friendly activity - rain or shine! Food is reasonably priced and pretty tasty, but a lot of fried / unhealthy bar food. Service is usually a bit slow and food takes a while to come out, so order immediately after getting your bay. My favorite level is the second level, it irks me that you cannot select a bay upon making a reservation. Since they book up quickly, sometimes they are not able to move you to a different bay if they are all booked up. Great for larger groups, but definitely recommend 2 hours if you have more than 3 people playing. read more

My company hosted an offsite at TopGolf Burlingame, which as a very novice golfer, I was slightly anxious about. These hesitations were set aside almost immediately, as the entire experience is designed to be beginner-friendly and fun for all experience levels. Upon checking in, we were shown to our suite and introduced to our attendant. We were given a quick tutorial on how to play and were given the chance to order some refreshments. Getting started was quick and easy; however, our computer screen froze when we were trying to register players, and it took us several minutes to track someone down to help us. While some members of my group were more experienced and could actually aim for the targets on the screen, the rest of us enjoyed hitting the golf ball as far as we could (and not finishing in last place). Food-wise, we ordered a couple of the large party trays of snacks. I avoided the sliders, which seemed kind of messy to eat while golfing, but the mac n'cheese bites hit the spot. It was chilly outside, so perhaps some warm beverages should be added to the Burlingame drink menu. Overall, I had a fun experience and would love to come back to play another round. read more

A nice place to hang out whether you're there to play or just relax. They used to have weekday discounts on golf pricing which was a great deal not sure if it's still going on but it definitely made it more tempting to stop by during the week. One thing I don't love is playing on the bays near the edge. The curve makes it harder to line up shots and reach certain targets which can get frustrating. I always try to get a bay closer to the center when possible. Food is usually good and comes out pretty fast. Overall it's a solid spot for casual fun and a bite to eat. read more

The gameplay is fun for any level golfer, the food is actually good, plenty of parking and good location with awesome views. This is where I'm frustrated with Top Golf. Topgolf is meant to be as much about food and drinks as golf, yet they refused to accommodate my 3 year old's food allergies. In the past, this and other locations allowed us to bring allergy safe food ONLY for her without any issues. This was approved multiple times, including my previous visit on June 2, 2025. However tonight, they only allowed ONE snack. (has to be in the original packing with all ingredients listed) Multiple staff members and their automated phone assistant said exceptions for allergies and toddler meals are allowed, but once I spoke to the manager, Jack, he said it would risk their food and beverage license. Maybe there something legally I'm unaware of but I find this hard to believe especially since this exact location in the past, other top golf locations, real golf courses, stadiums, and even sit down restaurants allowed it. Since there's nothing allergy safe for my daughter to eat there except fruit, we feel less inclined to buy food. The golf is fun and the food is good, but the hospitality fell short. Especially when all employees up until the manager said they can make exceptions for allergies and toddler meals. read more

Before arriving, we didn't have a reservation because we called and were told there was a 0 min wait. When we came, this wasn't accurate and we waited about 30-45 min which wasn't bad. The expectation was waiting actually an hour & a half. It's recommended to have a reservation before. There's 3 levels as usual, lots of bays. 2 bars one upstairs & downstairs. While we waited, we sat at the bar and got the skinny marg with strawberry. Each was $20. We finally got a bay upstairs and ordered Espresso martinis. I substituted tequila for mine and it was yummy! I couldn't complain about that. However, it took quite a while to receive the bites we ordered. First was the mac & cheese bites - really good, yet took forever to come out. Fries was another thing we ordered, didn't come out until the end of our game! How did it take nearly an hour? We complained to the server & nothing was done to improve our experience. The plates we received were dirty & we made them switch it out, they also forgot to provide utensils. I didn't appreciate that. I've never experienced this at SJ Topgolf. We did not receive water at all & did not get checked on the entire time. Other than that, I had fun. It's chilly on this side of the bridge so I would bring a jacket for sure. Amazing facility located in Burlingame. Top Golf is a fun place to unwind and have an entertaining time. We went when it was chilly, in the low 50's but the warmers were so nice. There's a lot of options you can choose as far as what bay you want to be at. The reservation can be done online and if you have a large party, their concierge is super friendly and helpful. They will also try and get you the best discounts too. Food is fairly priced and it's like a sports bar. Flat breads are delicious. We had a party of 16 and they accommodated us nicely. We had 2 bays side by side and the waiters were always on time. Besides the driving range they also offer indoor golf on the first floor and a pretty chill common area where there's a huge TVs that you can watch games and such. If you're looking for place that can accommodate a lot of people and great food and don't want to deal with having to always do a restaurant for your parties, Top Golf is an excellent alternative read more

I visited topgolf on a Saturday morning for brunch and had one of the best costumer service experiences I've ever had. Our server was hands-down the kindest and friendless person (I wish I could remember his name.) We had a blast celebrating my friend's birthday. We booked a two bay bundle, and as soon as we arrived to the bay, there was our server there to greet us and help us get set up while we waited for the rest of our group to arrive. We ordered food and drinks directly from the bay with our server, and we also brought our own cake and piñata which was a non-issue. I went here with my friends and the food was surprisingly very good. I like the signature topgolf golf club, it hits nice and makes a cool whoosh sound. It was easy to understand how to use the screen to do games. The food was very unexpected, everything tasted good. Only nitpick is my first server seemed under the influence or sick because she would space out mid sentence and stutter a lot and I'm just concerned if it's social anxiety or something else. I hope she is ok. She later took a break but the 2nd server was a chill guy. I recommend the pizza and donut hole injectables they were such a fun gimmick. Walked in at about 11am. Asked for a bay for one hour, was told it's an hour wait. Took me a second to double check the hours. Maybe we got there too early. Nope. They were open for operation. I looked around and saw literally no body, and asked "hey, there's no on here. So why is there an hour wait?" "There's an event on level two. And right now that's the only floor open for operation" "Ok sooooo can we get a bay on level two?" "No, it's an hour wait" So in my head, top golf, with a bunch of bays across multiple floors, can't accommodate walk ins because they have a private event going on. Ok. Got it. I've never heard that in my life outside of a "buy out" where someone pays to have the whole place to themselves. But ok. So I walk up to level two and see said event. From what I could tell, the had about 6 bays in use. Maybe more. And I walk up to the bar to order a drink, made it this far. Might as well get a beer. "Are you part of the event?" "No, I was told at the front desk we can't be accommodated because of an event. But can I order a beer" The bartender looked legitimately confused for a second, handed me the beer. No offers of apology or anything, just like the guy at the check in counter. And then is I get down to the first floor where my group was sitting, I could see the bartender talking to another employee(I assume a supervisor of some sort) and pointing at me as I walk across the lobby. Probably explaining my frustration I had expressed to her and probably sharing the fact that I didn't tip on my one beer. So let me wrap this up. A company like top golf, turning away walk ins because of a small event is wild. If it was a buyout, sure. I get it. But for a party only using a few bays. You can't accommodate anyone else? I saw that there was a new Topgolf location in Burlingame, so I decided to check it out with my family. Like usual, I made a reservation online with a 25% deposit. We were assigned a bay on the 1st floor, and it was my 1st time playing on the 1st floor. I prefer the higher bays b/c it was distracting seeing the golf balls fall down from the upper bays and I thought it was harder. Compared to the San Jose location: +Amazing views! Our bay faced the water and we saw planes taking off and landing. +Less crowded +2 screens (1 for the hitter and 1 for the people watching): This was a nice touch since the hitter can see their progress right in front of them. -Seemed smaller -No nets for the targets: They're just colored circles on the field. -Screens and the actual field didn't match up well: There were times when the ball would land in the colored circle, but no points were given. *Verdict: 3.5 stars rounded down to 3 d/t service. When the party for the bay next to us arrived, their host greeted them, gave them a rundown, and asked them if I wanted to order anything. However, we didn't receive that and I had to flag down someone for some waters. However, she was very attentive when our time started running out. At the 15-minute mark, she brought us the tab. First of all, we had ordered garlic boneless wings and were given wings with bones so we had notified our server and had gotten it replaced. Although I hate to waste food, the wings were so salty that none of us could stomach more than a couple bites. The texture was off as well-- it was soft and kind of disintegrated into our mouths. I'd love to give them the benefit of the doubt since they are new, but it's a bit tough. We came in and got a bay (make sure to make a reservation!!!). There's a nice little waiting area outside so maybe bring a jacket just in case you're waiting for a while. We ordered food almost immediately when we got there, but it didn't come until maybe 5 min before we were done with our session. They had forgotten to put the order in entirely. They comped some of it, but the timing of it all was just a bummer. Extra points though because you can't beat the views right out onto the bay!!! read more
