The theme of the evening happened to be minor inconveniences. It's the stain on your shirt you didn't until notice until you happened by chance to see it, and now it's the only thing you can think of. And it happened at the beginning. My friends and I decided to celebrate my birthday (9/21) at TopGolf. It would be my first time playing. We met at the downstairs bar to grab a beer. The bartender asked for our IDs. I get excited not because I'm being carded (36), but because it's my birthday and he is looking at my ID and should notice my birthdate. He just looks at the year and hands the cards back. Didn't notice it was my birthday. Did he even read the ID? Minor annoyance. We took our drinks to our bay and there was a quick glitch on the touch screen when arrived, but we didn't think much of it. Our bay host came by and took our orders promptly. We were happy. We ordered our food. Nachos and salads. I asked for grilled chicken on my salad. When it arrived, my chicken didn't look appetizing. The breast looked liked it was boiled in water. There were minimal grill marks and it was cold. Maybe 10% was warm. It was bland. Masking it with dressing wasn't going to help. When I asked for a plate to put my cold chicken because I wasn't going to eat, she brought me a plate instead of offering a new piece of chicken. Doesn't grilled chicken imply the chicken is grilled and warm? Minor inconvenience. Later on my friends decided to order the Blanco Queso Dip and Edamame. When the cheese arrived on a skillet, it was luke warm. They thought it would be a safer idea to take it home and heat it to a safer, and more desirable temperature. The edamame was really hot (temp) and a perfect level of spicy. The temperatures should have been switched. Minor inconvenience. GIANTS WON 6-5!! With about a half hour left in our reservation, our bay equipment started glitching again. We called over management, and they called over facilities. The bay couldn't be fixed and we had to switch bays. Management programed an hour on our new bay (the 30 minutes we had left, plus 30 more on the house). Minor inconvenience. Now we had to grab our To-Go boxes, purses, and drinks over to our new bay half across the course. Plus, we had to close out our tab (tipped workers NEED to get paid!) and open up a new one. Another minor inconvenience. We ordered another round of drinks and after about 15/20 minutes noticed that our 2 drinks haven't arrived. Once they arrived we closed it our quickly because we only had about 15 minutes left to play. Minor inconvenience. After the time was up my friends and I decided that we should finish our drinks in the bar and finish watching the Giants game. They were chipping their way at a comeback and I bleed Orange and Black. Since we were celebrating my birthday we decided to have some shots. Our poison picked was Jager. Delicious. Again, we were asked for our IDs. This new bartender looked at the year and handed me back my ID. Really?!?! Another chance for someone to notice my birthday- blown. If you're going to ask for an ID, look at the ID. He handed my friend the bill, he charged her card, then poured the shots. THERE WAS NOT ENOUGH FOR 3 SHOTS! One person went to look for another bottle, another went on break, and the coverage closed out someone's tab while the poured Jager was sitting on the edge of the bar getting warm, slipping out of our fingertips. Mouth still salivating. We were told they couldn't find another bottle and we didn't trust them to make a mixed shot. We told them we weren't going to drink the warm Jager and that we needed that last transaction voided. Don't charge the card until the drink is poured. More minor inconveniences. The Giants kept clawing away... We were set on birthday shots and we wanted Jager so we went back downstairs to finally finish our beers and watch this comeback. This bartender finally had Jager! SUCCESS!! We enjoyed our shots and ordered a beer. This game is getting good! When we decided to call it a night, we ordered 3 bottles of water to go. The total for the 3 bottles came out to be $13 and some change. That's $4 for a bottle of Dasani. We only took 2. This was the straw that broke the camel's back. That is an outrageous amount for a bottle of water. One of the aggravating factors of the Woodstock '99 riots was price gouging water. My friends and I had a good time. We had a lot of fun. In what could have been an easily memorable birthday is going to be overshadowed by so many minor inconveniences. read more

TopGolf Management, I am writing to express my profound disappointment regarding the service my party of six received on March 28th, 2025, at 8:45 PM in Bay 307. We had booked a reservation a week in advance to celebrate my husband's birthday, traveling from Los Angeles specifically for this event. The experience, unfortunately, fell far short of expectations. Our server, Hanna B., exhibited unprofessional behavior from the outset. Her rushed approach to taking our drink and food orders set a negative tone for the evening. When I politely requested she help make my husband's birthday memorable - considering the significant travel undertaken by our group and the fact it was our first TopGolf experience - her response was dismissive and frankly, insulting. She stated, with an annoyed expression, that TopGolf no longer provides birthday singing but *might* try to gather some staff. This starkly contrasted with the enthusiastic birthday celebration we witnessed at a nearby bay, where the staff went above and beyond. Our attempts to obtain birthday recognition from other servers were equally unsuccessful. We were met with vague responses and outright ignored. Furthermore, our server, Hanna B., inexplicably left us unattended for over 30 minutes without drinks, only to reappear and inform us she had gone on a lunch break without any prior notice. This lack of communication and attention was incredibly frustrating and inconsiderate. Finally, after our two-hour game, instead of the promised birthday recognition, we were abruptly rushed out by Hanna B., capping off a thoroughly disappointing evening. The substandard service we experienced was unacceptable, particularly given the advance planning and the significant distance traveled by my guests. This was supposed to be a special celebration, and the actions of Hanna B. and the indifference of the other servers severely impacted its success. I urge you to investigate this matter thoroughly and hold those responsible accountable for the lack of professionalism and the poor service we received. I'm a huge fan of Topgolf and have visited several locations, including Las Vegas, Florida, and the LA area. I even hosted a birthday party at the San Jose location. The service is usually up to par or even better. One of the things I love about Topgolf is the convenience. Scheduling and player setup can be done directly through the app and text message, so you can usually head straight to your bay and start playing. After a few minutes, we usually place our order, and they normally bring out Jr. clubs for the kids. Most of my visits have been five-star experiences. However, the last three visits have been more like three stars. On our most recent visit, we prepaid for two hours. Naturally, we expected to start playing as soon as we arrived. Unfortunately, there was a glitch, and we couldn't start until a manager came by to fix it. I get that things happen, but we ended up losing valuable time that we had already paid for. Our session still ended at the same time, which wasn't cool. The service was also disappointing. Our server was hardly around. We had to flag him down just to place an order, get a Jr. set of clubs, and even for table settings. He never checked in with us after that, so we didn't bother ordering anything else or getting another round of drinks. The food we ordered did arrive at a reasonable time and tasted fine, but the lack of attentive service took away from the overall experience. We were rushed out exactly at the two-hour mark, which I understand, but it was frustrating given the time we lost due to the glitch. Most ridiculous request from staff on the first floor entry way. I was there today with my 3 yr old little boy, he had a kids water bottle, where he took everywhere just to drink lukewarm water. The staff insists that it's outside container, so not allowed at the place and it's the rule. I completely understand for adult drink or even kids drinks bought from other places, this makes sense b/c they want you to consume at their places, but what's the deal with kids' water bottle, it prevents kids from spilling water all over the couch, which later happened today with us, and it's a lot more environmental friendly. Why waste another plastic kids water cup and straw when I already have my own? Plus, what's top golf to lose??? It's not like I am going to order alcohol for my 3 year old. Just really stupid, and stupid things/rules make me mad. Rules like this should definitely have exceptions. Or maybe the staff is just being difficult with us, I don't know why she would do that though, if that's really the case, Shame on this employee for picking up on a 3 year old. read more

I had a very disappointing experience with Topgolf's customer service. I accidentally made a reservation at the wrong location and immediately reached out to have it transferred to the correct one. Despite the payment still being pending, the customer service representative refused to help, citing a 24-hour no refund policy. The app itself says you can edit reservations, but there was no option to do so. When I called, the representative was unhelpful and claimed they couldn't make any modifications either. I find it incredibly frustrating that they wouldn't accommodate such a simple request, especially when I acted quickly and the payment hadn't even processed yet. I am beyond disappointed with the lack of flexibility, empathy, or even basic customer service. Topgolf's rigid policies and dismissive attitude have left a bad taste in my mouth.
