I'm torn about this review. The service was 5 stars. However, I'm not a Torchy's fan so... That's another story and one of my friends considers it a character flaw. The kinks with service have definitely been worked out. We ordered and had our meal within 10 minutes. The order taker wasn't overly friendly but he was efficient. The man who took the food to our table was very helpful. I did find their soda and utensil station to be in need of some cleaning. My husband did love his tacos and I ate mine. I'm not a huge fan of taco but I love the cozy atmosphere at this place. Those chandeliers with yellow warm lighting make it a perfect place for a beautiful evening hangout. The food is all right, and my go-to order is the democrat. Even though the sauce comes aside, the tacos are a little dry from my opinion. This was my first time trying Torchy's and this will be my last time trying them. I placed my order online. I ordered the Fried Avocado and the Trailer Park. I arrived there 5 minuets before my order was to be ready so I could pay for my order. The cashier told me that my food was not ready and gave me a buzzer. I sat and waited and I saw them bring a small bag out and sit it on the warmer. After 10 minuets of waiting past my order time I went up and asked another cashier about my order. He said I was up next. After another 15 minuets I went back up and he could tell I was not happy. He whispered to another employee and she came and asked me what I ordered, I told them both either give me my food or my money. He asked me my name. I told him and there's my food on the warmer in the bag I saw them bring out 20 minuets earlier. I waited all that time for some dry tasting tacos. read more

I was never a taco person before I came to Torchy's, but after having their tacos I became a fan. Their breakfast tacos are a good bang for your buck-they give you generous portion sizes. I could go for any of their options, but I wasn't the biggest fan of the Mr. Orange. Be sure to check out their secret menu too! Queso and Chips is always a solid side. People say they have some of the best queso. The airstream salad is also wonderful. It has a a variety of healthier ingredients and good balance of flavors. I ordered two tacos, the Baja taco and the beef fajita taco. The quality of the Baja taco was really good, and the sauce that came with it really helped strengthen the flavor of the shrimp. But the beef fajita wasn't my favorite, the beef had fat chewy parts which just made it hard for me to eat. Honestly really good, I got the Grande Burrito with no sour cream and pork for the meat, it was amazing and would prefer it over any other types of burrito places. My mom ordered the Shrimp Tacos and it was perfect, her martini was also really good. Torchy's has my heart, and this location is no different. We stopped by on a Saturday late afternoon and my husband and I enjoyed their famous, you-must-order-it-or-you're-wrong queso, 2 tacos each (Brushfire and Migas with sausage for me, Brushfire and Ranchhand for him), and a margarita. The prices are fair, but happy hour is even better ($1.50 off margs). All of our food was timed and came out really soon after ordering, and servers stopped by to check on us and bring us extra chips 2-3 times. The tacos were well-portioned and awesome, and I would say consistent with other Torchy's locations. Everything about the restaurant was lively and you could tell everyone around us loved it as much as we did. Their location is great and makes it easy to get to since it's not far from the highway. The food was great, but there was about a 35-40 minute wait for my two tacos. The tacos did come out hot, which was good that they weren't cold. I got a breakfast taco- spinach, bacon and egg and I also got a taco or the month which was the bottle rocket shrimp taco. The breakfast taco was delicious and the shrimp taco was very good and spicy. I hope that if I come to this location again I won't have to wait 40 minutes for my food. They have cane-sugar drinks, so you may have to experiment on which ones are closest to the drink you normally get. Staff is very friendly, and makes sure to stop by and check on you fairly often. Good food and fast service! I don't think that the queso I ordered came out very fresh but the burrito I ordered was. The food is just what you'd expect from Torchy's, good, but a little over priced. The burrito that I ordered wasn't very well balanced, with the ingredients in it, the pico overpowered the whole burrito so I would recommend unless you really enjoy pico, not to get it in your taco or order. Beef was a little over cooked but nothing to effect the taste. Overall a good experience but nothing to go out of your way for. Maybe will try another location. read more

Tacos are on point and the queso is addicting. The Independent is a rare gem that is both delicious and vegetarian. Easy to order online and pickup but also has a great patio and be for dine in. Service can be slow but that's expected for a new restaurant that is constantly busy. Prices are high on paper but the tacos are filling and there's a good variety of ingredients so good for pleasing different palates. Update: Highly recommend eating at the bar. Me and my husband went i orderd the the trailer park tacos i informed the lady taking my order this was my first time .so we were unsure about how the service works she was very dry and we had to ask multipul times about food i ordered three of those tacos . I swear Torchy's in Texas tastes better than Colorado for some reason. My favorites are always the pulled pork and salmon. Two are enough for me but eat to your hearts desire. I love how many options there are and that there's something for everyone. Taco prices are about $5 each but are quite hefty and filled with lots of toppings. I hate to do this because my husband and I enjoy the food but the service at this location is terrible. We ordered our food online and it said it would be ready at 2:27. My husband arrived at 2:30 pm and did not receive our food until 3:23. He had to wait almost an hour for 4 tacos and 2 sides. The employees there seem so unhappy and not there to work and one of them was cursing really loudly in front of customers. They are not helpful and saw my husband waiting there forever but never checked on his order until he asked again. The tacos are great! We like the Alabama shake, crossroads and baja. I love the queso and the beans and rice or okay but the rice has been overcooked a few times. We really like the food but the service is not worth going for. The food is consistent as all the other locations, the dinning room was designed well, and it is very busy so there's a good ambiance. The patio is always full until a few hours after dinner, even on weekdays. I've been her 4 times, and the service is something that they really need to work on, but it hasn't kept me from coming back. I hope they figure it out because N Arlington needs a place like this. They are good Tacos. Had the Trailer Park and the Democrat. Very tasty. Good size. Not a terrible price. Two Tacos and a drink around $7-$10. The atmosphere here and design of the restaurant was really cool. Very nice, new, and clean restaurant. They get 3 stars because they did take some time to get the food out. It was the lunch rush but we were the first few in. Also I have had better tacos. Being in Texas there are great tacos everywhere. We'll I'm disappointed, we ordered the Hillbilly queso and four tacos. The Queso saved the day but the Mr.Pink was disgusting, overcooked and over seasoned tuna... The Crossroads was a overwhelmingly smokey and bland... the Tipsy Chick had a bacon marmalade that was a sugar bomb with corn... The Baja Shrimp was cooked to perfection but not much more flavor.
