I had the Mr. Pink but that was over cooked, definitely can't call it seared. The flavor of the baja shrimp was much more flavorful. I guess with all the amazing tacos in SD it's pretty hard to compare to places like Mitch's Point Loma. You guys remember when Torchy's started really taking off? Remember why they did? Big servings and excellent quality, right? Their tacos went from 'one is enough' for me to about half the size/serving. I give places 3-4 chances to deserve a lower rating because I know places have 'off' days but this was my 4th visit in the last few months where I was shocked at the reduction of the taco size. Ok torchy tacos has there stuff together regarding making awesome tacos so succulent you want to devour all the tacos made here seriously that good. The trailer park is my absolute favorite fried chicken pico de gallo cheddar cheese on a flour tortilla or make it trashy add queso on it. The independant is also a veggie type has no meat has portabello mushrooms if you like mushrooms refried beans, corn, cheese, avacado, aioli on a flour tortilla. The whole place is clean and well maintain the only negative is it is a loud place so you know your voice will carry here if your talking to someone its a friendly place and Torchy Tacos seemed to know how to market well enough that its stays busy. So people around me seem to enjoy there food students and just people from all walks of life were totally chowing down. Plenty of parking great service no waiting on receiving your food. One negative is they could decorate this place a little better kind of boring decor needs a facelift. But overall fun, friendly staff, dog friendly awesome place. To start off this review, I have had bad experiences at this location only. Some of the other Torchy's have been slow, but this place is unbelievable. I think it must be the management because there's just a general lack of care for the customer. I just stopped by there today and there was maybe six people in the restaurant and ordered 1 taco. Everyone already had their food so I was hopeful it would be less than the usual 10 min at this place. Another person came in right after me and ordered and after about that usual 10 minutes that person went up and asked about his order. They did not seem to answer him. I waited about 5 more min (as there was no food coming out) and there was nobody at the register so I just left frustrated but I needed to go to pick up my kid at school. I will post a complain on their talkin Torchy site as this is not the first time at this location. Hoping they turn this around because the food is good but next time I will not be proximity lazy and go to Taco Express where the service is top notch and food is much faster. read more

Amazing! That's all I can say about this place. They have such a variety of traditional and no traditional tacos to choose from and they are ALL delicious. My all time favorite though is the brushfire on a flour tortilla. It's a Jamaican jerk chicken with mangos, jalapeños, cilantro, sour cream, and their famous Diablo sauce. My mouth is literally watering thinking about it. Besides their tacos they have a soda machine with all kinds of different sodas (no Coca Cola or Pepsi products here) the cream soda is delicious. One Night Left If I had one night left--yep you guessed it--I would be kicked back inside Torchys stuffing myself with delicious tacos. Instantly I would enter into pure nirvana as I consume the fried avocado taco. As I smack my lips together, ohh my mouth is watering, I would follow that fried avocado with a crossroad and enjoy that brisket mixed with the jalapeño slide down my gullet. Follow that with another fried avocado with some cilantro sauce, oh yea yea, you get the picture. I don't really want else I would do other than eat some tacos. Maybe throw on some vampire diaries or yell at the now Russell Wilsonless Seahawks, who knows but at least I would eat some Torchys even if it is on any other day of the week then my regular Wednesday attendance. My most recent visit I got the trailer park - trashy and the brushfire. The trashy part of the trailer park means they poor queso on it. Like I already said their food here is good just expensive for what you are getting. I also wish I had known that they have individual/half orders or queso ... (this is not on the menu). There is also a secret menu here I have heard about, but not taken the time to look up or try. You can call your order in ahead of time and pick it up in store and you get to skip the line when you come in the store. I always take note when my high-standard parents say they enjoyed their food at a restaurant, and Torchy's was one of them. My stepdad even said they had the "best chicken fajita taco he's ever had." This is my favorite of Torchy's B&M locations. I love it for the little patio on the side of the restaurant. When you enter the patio area and look overhead, all you see are hanging baskets of plants. I am enthralled by the plants! They lend a magical sense of entering a secret garden to the whole experience. Here you are in the middle of a bustling city and there is this one little little place that is set apart by a wooden fence and ceiling of living plants. At night, the patio has twinkle lights as well. I never thought I would describe a fast food taco place as romantic but that's exactly what this little hideaway is...romantic. Oh, and it's BYOB, so bring your own bottle of wine or six pack of beer and enjoy! I know some people don't like their tacos, but honestly, in my book, this is the best queso I have tried anywhere in this town thus far. And I try the queso everywhere I go because I am working on finding the best so I can try to re-create it at home. This one is by far my favorite. Ok first off the queso aren't even queso. My queso was just spicy chile peppers blended with a few bits of cheese on top and avocado on the bottom. My boyfriend and I ordered three tacos, a half order of queso, a half order of street corn, and an order of churros. Our queso came out quickly so we were happy about that and then our churros came out about 5 minutes later. 20 minutes went by and we still hadn't received the rest of our order. We watched as people who arrived after us received their food, ate, and left. All while we were sitting there with churros that we didn't want to eat until after our tacos. My boyfriend went up to ask about our order and the woman at the cash register said it would be 2 minutes longer. 5 minutes went by and someone came out with one taco and another order of churros. We told them this still wasn't our complete order. Someone else came out about 3 minutes later with our two other tacos but we were still missing our corn. The first taco that was brought out was awful and cold. It looked like it was just thrown together with no care. The other two tacos were trailer parks and they had HUGE strips of chicken, as if they couldn't even take the time to cut them down to fit in the taco. At this point we just wanted to leave so we asked for a refund for the corn since we never received it and for the one taco that was cold. I didn't even eat it because it was so unappetizing. The manager gave us the refund but wasn't apologetic. She seemed like she gave us the refund just to make us shut up and leave.
