Always have to find a torchys when one is close by! Tacos continue to not disappoint. Staff friendly and noticed error with my order before I even did and corrected it immediately. This location seemed to go to fully automated order kiosk. There is some street parking though tends to be full depending on time you go. There is also a metered parking lot that you can pay for on phone but it was not working/wouldnt let me pay so luckily my car was in viewing distance from my seat. OMG! I'm from Maryland and was told that there is another location up north in Rockville I believe, so it will 100000% be seeing me! Tyra and Tiara at this location was the best! Tyra specifically was our server this day, and she's such a "girls girl". Not being from the area she was so kind, in telling us where she eats and chills during her off days, with a smile and jokes. She literally made us want stay longer just being in her company. The food was delicious, including their Mexican Candy drink - which I haven't had since I left Cancun, and I must admit... this was pretty close. Tyra did great! Their tacos also were great; to be honest... the CHIPS stole the show. While my best friend and I were at the bar we saw orders being picked up of JUST chips so we indeed are not the only people that feel this way. We tried Torchy's at two locations, Austin and then Florida. The food is outstanding, absolutely loved it. Jerk Chicken and another chicken option were great. Jerk Chicken was husband's fav. I loved the Fosho and as well Avocado one as a vegetarian. The flavors are great. Their queso is a must try, it is delicious and love the heat. Grilled corn is also great side dish. We tried lot of their sauces and loved them all - diablo (spicy), poblano, chipotle etc. Florida location just needs some extra attention- they ran out of Queso during dinner time, made people wait for an hour for new batch. read more

2-6 is happy hour with half price drinks so get in there! Haha they also have some taco items on the HH menu so make sure to ask. This location has a nice bar area w/ around 8 stools and then there are some tables and booths. I have only been during the day so that's the time of day experience I'm speaking off. Considered one of the best fast casual taco chains in the country, Torchy's Tacos has 110 locations across 16 states, including 82 locations in its founding state of Texas. In my first morning in Houston, I had a hankering for breakfast tacos, specifically brisket. Torchy's does a great version, filling and value priced. This Torchy's is located in Rice Village Houston, open from 7 am to 9:30 pm. My nephew and I took our time walking from his apartment, later in the morning. It's a fast casual concept, where you place and pay for your order first, then find a place to sit. They have kiosks where you are encouraged to order, input the number of the pager you pick up, and then wait for your food. In our case, the food came out in two batches in decent time, and the server used the number of the pager to determine who got what (the pager never rang). The entire menu is served during open hours, so we got some breakfast tacos along with their special tacos and even a half basket of chips with salsa, all for breakfast. At this location, happy hour is valid until 6:00 pm, so all of our damn good tacos were a buck off (saving us 6 bucks total). We got six tacos including 1 BYO breakfast taco with chorizo ($2.95), 3 Wrangler ($3.75), 2 Republican ($4.95 + 0.30 for crispy potatoes). Also got a half of salsa and chips ($2.50) and one street corn ($5.50). Drinks are self serve, and water is allowed to be ordered via the kiosk. The size of the tacos here were impressive: all on thick flour tortilla. All except the chorizo was stuffed fully, and were definitely 4-5 big bites to finish. The chorizo breakfast taco was simple, just a decent amount of well seasoned chorizo on a flour tortilla (I must have made a mistake and removed the egg and cheese)...it would have been great with it. My favorite taco was the Wrangler, with beef brisket, eggs, and crispy potatoes. All ingredients for a great breakfast taco, and two of them would have filled me up. The other brisket taco was the Republican, with brisket and barbeque sauce and corn relish. The crispy potatoes (basically half of a really crispy tater tot) added a lot of texture and even more girth. Everything tasted fresh, with each bite confirming my love of Tex-Mex, especially beef brisket tacos in a flour tortilla. I also loved that all the packing material to go (since you most likely over ordered and need takeout containers) are available self service. We did end up taking 3 tacos home, well wrapped. The nice server also gave us a to go bag of tortilla chips to go along with the remaining salsa that we brought back as well. I had the opportunity to go to a Torchy's in Allen,Texas earlier last month, and chose a different restaurant instead. Won't make that mistake again. read more

I've been to this location twice, placing my order online ahead of time, once for pickup and once for delivery. I love the vibe of the menu and the delicious combinations they offer. I'm a Torchys girl through and through but the service at this location was not good. I ordered a drink and it never came to the table so I went to the bar and the bartender said she never got my ticket. It was basically empty inside and it took over 20 minutes for 1 taco and 2 queso's. They brought my taco and no queso's, so I told the guy we were still waiting. He brought the 2 queso's and 1 didnt have chorizo even though we paid for 2 hillbilly queso's. We didn't feel like waiting again so we just took it. read more

I feel that they may have been missing someone working judging by the number of folks I observed waiting. I was glad that they left off the cilantro as requested. The brushfire included the perfect heat as usual. I stepped out and tried the Fo Sho which I hadn't noticed before. Honestly for a vegetarian option I felt it was filling. I'd order it again. This location is the worst that I've been to. My prior visit a lady bartending took my drink order, kept assuring me that my drink was coming and still never made my drink. Before then, other employees were back and forth in the area of the kiosks and made sure not to make eye contact or ask to help. The gentleman with the dreads realized I was waiting a long time for a drink and helped me out. He was the only bright spot, and the reason that I came back for more abuse. The Torch has been lit and it is shining bright! I tried Torchys Tacos for the first time today and from the time I stepped foot in the door service was on point. This vibed out spot is a cool place to grab a drink and enjoy some "damn good tacos"! Shout out to Shayla at the front counter who have great customer service, gave such a warm welcome to me as a first time customer! The menu is full of tasty sounding options - I went with the "Trailer Park" (chicken) and the "Republican" (brisket), a side of queso with (complimentary) chips and a margarita. One word, Wowzer!! It was love at first bite! I was literally dancing in my seat! The "Trailer Park" Taco with the green chiles, pico, poblano, is a fan favorite and I see why! I made it "trashy" (queso added) because, why not? The fried chicken on the taco is light, crispy, and flavorful, just crazy good! And, don't get me started on the "Republican" with that tender, juicy brisket, crispy onions, grilled corn relish and cilantro, Yummm! The queso was the perfect consistency with a little kick of heat. And, the margarita was delicious and refreshing. For $25, it was all well worth it. My first time visiting Torchy's was overall very pleasant and fulfilling. This location is in the heart of bustling Rice Village near tons of bars, restaurants, and shopping. It's a cute area with shady trees and outdoor seating galore. You'll notice there is a decent seating area in front of the restaurant and a few two top tables along the windows/walkway. Inside, there was plentiful seating as well but the front counter is a bit tight if there is a line of folks waiting to order. My partner and our friend were satisfied with the reasonable prices for the portions offered. The democrat with beef barbacoa was my favorite of the night. The barbacoa was flavorful without being too oily and the tortillas were super soft yet held up well to the plentiful filling. Shoutout to their delicious queso too! Note each weekday has different drink special and pricing for a small alcoholic beverage, in my case a frozen Sangria Swirl, was also quite reasonable. I think there are more authentic street taco trucks and hole in the wall type places around Houston, but for a trendy spot that can satisfy everyone in your group, you can't go wrong with Torchy's. read more

Who could go wrong with Torchy's! They have many locations around houston and this is one of my favorite locations! Love coming here because they have great vegan options like the Mofaux, made with a plant based meat alternative. Their chicken fajita taco is also one of my favorites! They used to have many more options for tacos before Covid but I guess they reduced the menu options during Covid. I found out today that they can make most of the tacos into burritos as well, so instead of getting two tacos to be more filling, you bc ab just get one burrito! The burritos around about $10, so slightly more than the tacos but just one is enough to get you full! It's also way less messy than a taco! Highly recommend the Mofaux Burrito! I'm just not a fan of refried beans though which they add to all burritos so I would just order it with no refried beans. They also add Mexican rice to all burritos as well. The tacos do take about 10-15 minutes to get ready. Also, I highly recommend getting their sauces on the side! My favs are the chipotle, Diablo, avocado and poblano! They used to give larger sides of the sauce, but this time they gave small side containers. I'm not sure if they are trying to reduce the amount of sauce given or if they just ran out of the larger sauce containers, but the sauce is one of my favorite parts about this place! This is seriously the worst Torchy's location, the only reason I order here sometimes is bc it's 5 min from my home. I give up ordering here, every time I place an order - something is always wrong either they forget the chips with queso, or my taco order comes out completely wrong, the portion is always sh** they barely put any meat, it's just tossed in foil like they don't care. Terrible location I don't understand how this location is still open. Save your money and drive a little further to the other locations. read more

Crossroads Street corn All were amazing, but Tipsy Chick & Trailer Park were the best! Flavorful, not skimpy on the protein, good portion size & presentation. Came in for lunch with my uncle on 4/21 from out of town. At first, the original bartender wasn't very friendly or welcoming. I didn't feel very comfortable with her & felt rushed to order after she gave me hard time about my id. I am a big fan of Torchy's. Unfortunately I had a bad experience at this location. I ordered online and when I arrived my food was gone. Apparently someone had stolen it?? Or it got thrown away? I'm not sure. I get it. That happens. It's not what I'm upset about. I did not feel like a valued customer. The staff dismissively said they would prepare it again. I had to press to understand how long it would take to get out. A very half hearted apology was offered but that was about it. No offer for a partial refund or complimentary drink while I waited for my food. Not much attention given to me. In general I felt like they could've handled that situation better. All in all, it's not the biggest deal, but I would like to see better attention to the customers from this location. read more

Had the worst experience at this Torchy's. I made my own bowl and asked for veggies, blackened salmon, arugula, and avocado. I waited for 10 minutes and happened to look at my ticket and noticed it said lettuce and beans. I immediately asked one of the bartenders to please have the kitchen fix it. Another 20 minutes goes by and my food comes out and it's lettuce, sour cream, cheese, pico de gallo (I think) and some other stuff I didn't ask for. I was so through after waiting almost 40 minutes.
