Terrible management. They are out of half the items on the menu at least. Half the drink items are out as well. No trailer park, no democrat no cherry limeade, no ultra and more. And no this isn't politically motivated. Hands down the worst excuse for barbacoa I've ever had. Why I ordered it twice was for confirmation. Everything else was great. I really liked the Brushfire, Crossroads and Baha Shrimp. The street corn was tasty too. But that Barbacoa has to go! No on to service; night 1 was slow but my food was hot and beer ice cold. Night 2, food Luke warm, beer cold. Would have preferred a staggered beer serving but I'll live. The tender offered to replace but I'm fine. Torchy's Tacos is a neat semi quick service restaurant. You order at a counter and they bring your food out to you when it's ready. The theme is very entertaining. The food was very good. You have to try the queso is excellent. I had a chicken burrito it came out nice fresh and hot. The chips and tomatillo salsa also tasted great. The only reason I give Torchy's a 4 instead of a 5 star review is because of the inside as well as outside we're not very clean. i've been to torchy's many times, my husband and i love it here. we stopped by the other day and did not have a great experience. we were ordering up at the front and this young lady with a collard shirt and a headband on, we see her pretty often but my husband over heard her gossiping about other employees and was up at the front there for a really long time. she had a weird smell to her, her hygiene is something that should be worked on especially when it comes to working in the food industry. the tacos were also really cold when the employee brought them out to us. my husbands tacos also had toppings he specifically said he did not want. never thought we'd have such a bad experience there, it's still a really good place to go to they should maybe just work on a few things. read more

I have been to Torchy's Tacos in different cities in Texas. With that being said, I was excited about a Torchy's Taco in Odessa of all places. I came in and I immediately got the impression that all employees who works here hates it. Not one single employee made an attempt to smile nor do they show any outward appearance of being welcoming or happy. I noticed a food runner having a conversation with her friend at the bar while another was casually looking through her phone in the bar in plain view of all customers. (There was a line of people waiting to order). I had a perfect view of the kitchen from where I sat and it seems there were several cooks playing around. Also, there were customers after me got their food before I did. Don't expect any customer service because the employees looks like they don't want to provide it in any capacity. After all, it is ODESSA. Anyway, the food is exactly how it should be. Your expectations will be exceeded in terms of quality and quantity when it comes to these tacos. Enjoy! read more

Very confusing at first! it looks like an upscale new establishment in Odessa Texas. I just moved here three days ago and was looking for a nice places to eat, I waited for a table and ask someone who work there if I seat myself, or if I wait to be seated? he said go ahead and just seat yourself there were no menus on the table, after waiting about three minutes I realized I needed to actually order at the counter then receive a digital notification number device. Although once that was figured out my order was quickly delivered to my table. It's a new restaurant in the Odessa Texas area and was very busy on a Friday night. Note: Ordering was confusing do it at the bar then take a number and a set. It's a full bar fast food restaurant the beers are large and they offer a local selection which being new to the area I wanted to explore. Warning..... it's a very noisy Echo hall! I don't think you will impress a first date here try #4! Although they do play good, fun provoking music that makes you want to dance instead of sit down and eat, that's not always bad unless you feel rushed. Teenage workers struggle to care. The manager and busser, the only two adults visible, carried the team. The girl who took our order was deadpan and bothered to have been taking our order. She didn't provide a receipt which caused a problem when we asked for a refund. Food was delicious but our drinks never came out after 40 minutes and checking on them twice. We watched the "bartender" run around with 2 people at the bar looking like she was making drinks. Out of the 40 minutes, she finished one cocktail and one beer. After eating we asked for a refund but never received a receipt so the process took about 15 minutes more. The cherry on top? None of the teen girls gave a f*ck. Today, my husband and I went on an adventure across Midland, deep into downtown Odessa. We were in search of the new Torchy's. As a former Austinite, Torchy's used to be one of my local favorites. When we arrived, we were greeted by a fairly long line (almost out the door), and all of the restaurants inside tables were full. Within about ten minutes, we ordered our tacos and queso and found two comfortable seats at the bar. The bartender was friendly and made a nice mojito for my husband. We quickly got our hillbilly queso. It was excellent and tasted just as it did in my memories. The one negative was that it wasn't exactly "loaded" with guac and chorizo--it was more of a sprinkle. It took awhile to get our tacos (at least compared to the speed of service I'm used to at a Torchy's.) However, it was crowded, and this is west Texas. So it wasn't any slower than somewhere else. The tacos were delicious and generous in size. The brushfire was spicy and sweet, the green chile pork was savory, and the fried avocado was a perfect combo of soft and crunchy as well as filling. Overall, I was not let down. This was a good representation of Torchy's, and I'm excited to have a Torchy's (hopefully) one day in Midland. read more

I was hesitant to come to this location because of the bad reviews on yelp. Most of them was from a year ago so I decided to chance it. We got a airstream salad, two diplomat tacos and the chili con queso. Everything was pretty much up to standard except the first basket of chips which was not cooked long enough so they weren't crispy and were a little tough. The second bag of chips were cooked enough and so they were fine. Everything tasted good just like it should and the manager checked on us twice as he made his rounds in the dining room making sure everything was clean and customers were taken care of. If you haven't tried this location lately you might want to try it, it's just like Torchy's should be and we will be back. read more
