This is an overrated taco chain that maybe at one point was great but not anymore. One thing that is great there is the drinks. The tacos are bland and flavorless. The street corn didn't taste good at all the cheese used in the street corn was overpowering. This place is overrated and over priced. I'll stick to my south side taco joints. read more

Our first visit to this location, food & service were both good. I had the avocado taco & the tipsy chick, both modified for my taste, nothing hot or spicy, they were delicious. My husband had the Baja shrimp & the brushfire, they were both hot & he enjoyed them. We also got the guacamole which was very good also. We will be back. read more

Food is pretty good. Service is absolutely horrible. I've tried calling in, got placed on hold for the amount of time it took me to drive to the store. Arrived and no one at counter in line, lady said she forgot about me. No apology offered. Ordered online, they lost my order and had to wait 20 minutes for two tacos to go. Been in store to eat several times and twice they forgot our queso. The table next to us on both occasions had their order delivered and was incorrect. Once the table asked for their money back and left. It's embarrassing that Odessa waited so long for a Torchy's and now the people running it could care less about customer service. Very disappointing and we will not be back, I'd recommend just sticking to Rosa's. read more

I've eaten Torchy's 50+ times in various locations and I have to admit this one is up towards the top. The tacos are always full of flavor and they seem to pack much more meat than some of the other Torchys around Texas. I haven't had a bad experience in the 3 times I've been to this location. Torchy's tacos are good but I feel they are overpriced. I get the Democrat which is Barbacoa with onions, avocados and salsa on corn tortillas. They give you a good amount of meat in their tacos but $5.00 for each Taco????? It should be a smaller price if you get more tacos or start off at a smaller price and then increase as you add tacos. If I get 3-4 tacos then I am at $15-20 for just one person????? Outside of that, fun atmosphere, nice staff, fast service. read more

First, and most important, every table in the place was dirty. It was not that crowded and the employees were standing behind the counter talking, so there was no excuse for it. Second, they totally messed up my order. Third, I got a corn tortilla on my taco and it was cold. I don't mean that it wasn't hot, I mean it was cold like it had been removed from a walk-in cooler and wrapped around my food. And, finally, the chicken fajita meat was too salty. When Torchy's first opened everything was on point. I'm super big into customer service, and this place had such a fun and welcoming atmosphere. The line was out the door, you were greeted with a smile, staff had no issues bringing you anything after you sat down, and the food didn't taste like the chain restaurant it is. Now, it's fallen into the regular chain and Odessa pitfall of terrible customer service, food being hit or miss, and even when it's good it isn't great. I'm not saying this lightly because I chose Torchy's to cater for my husband's big birthday party I threw for him last March (2021). Sadly, I was disappointed with that order being late and incorrect, but it wasn't terrible. I've ordered through the app, doordash, and in-person several times since and it's been incorrect every single time. Every. Single. Time. Sadly, that's not even my biggest complaint! The last 2 times I have gone in (this month), the same woman has been the person taking my order. Honestly, I should have called the manager but if it's been terrible customer service the past year, I figure I'm the only one annoyed and expecting better..? She literally couldn't say hello when I walked up to the register. The first time I looked at her and said hello and still no response, so I said it again. She looked at me dumbfounded and said "hiiii" with her better than attitude, very long fingernails and belly showing, like she didn't get a f*. The next time, I started by ordering queso, and then before I could finish another staff member began talking to her, so I waited. When she was done she looked at me and literally said so very rudely, "is that all?" Again, being literally less than 2 weeks apart from ordering and bringing several people there, I should have asked to speak to the manager; however, at this point, I'm done. We have been regulars for over a year, ordered catering and go frequently and I honestly can't take the terrible customer service and now subpar food. So disappointing because it's been one of our favorites since they opened and we've recommended and taken so many of our friends. This was my first visit to Torchy's, so I am being conservative on my review. The first impression as far as how to & where to order is a bit confusing, but quickly overcome. The Guy at the Counter was friendly & patient, helping with the "New-be", although he spoke very fast, for me, a native Odessan. he suggested what ordered, a brisket taco, he also gave me chips & queso, & I ordered a side of Guacamole'. I ordered the Special Torchy-tini, I think they call it. So after I ordered I went to set down. I had plenty places to set, there were only a few people in the house, probably because it was around 3:00pm on a Monday afternoon. After a few mins, I had to remind the Barkeep of my drink order. My food came out in no time and it was very good! The person that took my order came over and asked me once, maybe twice if I was ok, but other than that, I was on my own. IMO, BAD Business Model to ask for a tip immediately after one orders, before ANY services or product produced! I don't really staff here. Do not come here for happy hr, lol the drinks are so sad and small, I was observing how the "bartender" dose the drinks and WOW, instead of a whole shot glass its like 3/4 of it and thats how it was done on all 4 drinks for my table. Drinks are mainly color and flavor very minimum alcohol.... Food however is great and service is great. Very very clean environment. I do recommend the food. A welcome respite in the middle of a long drive back to Las Cruces. I had the Mr. Orange taco (salmon) and unsweetened iced tea. A thick corn tortilla held everything without falling apart. Great seasonings and sauce. I appreciate the equal opportunity selection of sweeteners, choosing stevia for my tea. Been here twice. First time was good except the beer was very flat & they ran out of michelob. This was at 12pm. The second time here, they gave me the wrong beer, then they brought me another beer & there was no foam or bubbles in it whatsoever, extremely flat. Even while he was pouring it. There was not many people at the bar but still watched the bartender take drink orders of two other groups that came in after us, while we were sitting there waiting to order. She brings the queso & chips out, & the queso had no guac in it so we had to ask for extra guac. Also tried to order a breakfast taco at 1:45 on Saturday when they stop serving breakfast at 2pm on Saturday. She said they are no longer doing breakfast. Our food came out cold & i never got the guac to go in our queso. I used to go to the lubbock location all the time. Moving forward i will not return to the odessa location unless under new management. Everything good in ghe Lubbock location is bad with the Odessa location. Normally I would be inclined to keep a negative experience to myself and my friends, however this was possibly the most frustrating experience I've had at a restaurant in recent memory. After arriving around 10:20-10:25 I sat at the bar. It was not very busy at all. I didn't have to wait long before I was attended to by the bartender who took my drink and food order. I order 2 tacos, one regular, one off the "secret" menu for which torchy's is known, and a small chips and queso. I received drink and began waiting. After waiting 30 minutes I asked the bartender to check on my order. I never received the chips and queso. After 40 minutes, closing time, I still had not received my food, while both of the parties that sat down after me had got their food. The bartender brought me a ticket, after speaking with their manager, and told me I only needed to pay for my drink. After 45 minutes the kitchen manager came and checked on me and I had still not received my order. Finally after 50 minutes I received my order. However they did not even bring it out on a tray. Instead they brought it to me wrapped up to go. So not only did I have to wait nearly an hour before receiving my order, it was wrapped up neatly so it could get cold while I drove home, before I could eat. Form your own opinion, however I was extremely displeased with my experience. read more

Enjoyed the Torchy's in Lubbock. This one is trash as fuck. Tacos were nasty, everyone who came in after us got their food before us (waited 50 minutes deadass).
