There is parking on both sides of the restaurant which I appreciate. They are only open for lunch currently. There is a self serve kiosk as soon as you walk in which makes it easy to order. I opted for the steak teriyaki bowl with half noodle half rice. I really enjoyed the vegetables and wish there were more. The steak was well done and smothered in sauce. The noodles could've been cooked a little more but tasted fresh. The portion was huge. Bowl had to have been at least a pound. I paid around $15 with tip. read more

I'm 70 years old along with my wife and the first thing you see is a computer screen to take your order when I finally figured out how to go through the menu and order all was good but I pushed the button to pay the computer wants a tip my order was about 40 bucks and I hadn't seen a human yet I gave the computer $4 tip! So we picked a booth that had the cleanest table and sat down. There were greasy fingerprints and a couple of smashed rice grains on the table so I got up and got some napkins and wiped the table off but all it did was smear the grease all over so my wife got up and asked if anybody could clean our table. The lady came to clean it and seemed... well it wasn't good we got our food in plastic bowls and containers and went to get plastic spoons and forks. The food was ok but you could tell it had been microwaved because the noodles underneath were molten hot. The service was bring your food and you get a cup to get your own fountain drinks, and they want a tip for what? Doing their job? It's like McDonalds order asking for a tip! I guess I'm too old for this BS. To miss the old Mom and Pop cafes were you never had an empty coffee cup and the lady behind the counter would bring you food with a smile and some friendly conversation, you know what humans do! The food had solid flavor, but what really impressed me was the portion sizes--I got a regular bowl for $10, and it was enough to feed me dinner that night and lunch the very next day--incredible value! I took my order to go, but there is ample seating inside with some modern Japanese-themed decor around the restaurant. This place is kind of a hole-in-the-wall. I haven't heard of many people that have tried it, but I do think it is recommendable in terms of the options they have! First of all, I LOVE the diversity of the menu. Do you want sushi? They've got it. Want a rice bowl? They've got it. Want a salad? They've got that too. Want a rice bowl and sushi roll? I'll start off with - the staff is always friendly. I've been here about 3 times now and my chicken bowl is always smothered in the sauces which isn't my favorite. I wish they had more options regarding the sauce such as less sauce. I love white rice and when I get to the rice it's smothered in sauce as well. We were looking for somewhere to eat before shopping for Toys for Tots and Yoshi's just happened to be in the area and where my husband decided to stop. I was not sure what to expect as I thought we were waking into a sit down restaurant vs. casual dining. As your walking in there are pictures of the menu items along the wall, which were actually a decent representation of the food. The menu has items ranging from sushi, to rice bowls, to salads, many of which looked delicious. We settled on the Godzilla Roll, coconut curry chicken bowl, and yakiniku bowl. The sushi roll was served on a bed of rice, which my son loves, and was definitely on the spicy side. The curry bowl had flakes of coconut on top and the yakiniku bowl had fresh crisp tender veggies. Yoshis is always my go to for a delicious salad or rice bowl while my hubby likes their sushi rolls. Everything is always made to order, hot and fresh. I love the sesame chicken salad, cranberry walnut salad and their seasonal Okinawa salad. They are all super delicious and filling. Depending upon the weather I also enjoy a side of edamame, miso, egg roll or tempura veggies. The staff is always friendly and prompt in taking your order and answering any questions. On a cold and gray Thursday afternoon the only thing that I wanted was some hot food in my gullet. Yoshis delivered! I'm sad to see that others have had a negative experience with the sushi. Parking isn't great although it looks like there was some in the back, I ended up parking at the Maverik gas station right next to it. Yoshi's made me feel nostalgic for a place I used to go for teriyaki bowls in my hometown. It was hot fresh not overly dressed with teriyaki sauce, and they do some really unique fortune cookies that are dipped in chocolate! I was also shocked at how cheap the prices were for the quantity and quality of the bowl that I got. Yoshis is on my list for a place to grab a solid and quick bite in the future. read more

Counter service only. Large menu selection of mostly fish bowls. Served ugly by inattentive counter staff joking with each other in Spanish. I ordered a half Vegas bowl and had to go back up to the counter to ask why it did not include the pictured rice. Person mutterred it did not come with rice except sometimes to keep the roll from rolling. Really? I pointed to the menu and said it was advertized as coming on a bed of rice. This time, for me, she turned to the cook station and got me a tiny ramkin of rice and put it on the tray. Here is a picture of what I ordered (plus Gyoza) and what they served me. See what I mean by served ugly? And they have the nerve to keep a giant tip jar on the counter. The food quality was very good. Hot, fresh tempura, although the Gyoza were small. I had a bitter/sweet experience ..., I had ordered the Yakisoba Bowl and found it to be way too salty, and the chicken was dried out and very tough. I talked to Zack (at the Murray location) , who was so understanding and kindly let me choose a different entree - the Hawaiian Bowl. It was SO much tastier, with more moist chicken. Got the Raging Bull and my friend got the Hawaiian Chicken. I'm not sure if it was due to them having a line but the food was not great at all. The rice was extremely soggy and mushy. The chicken on the Raging Bull was not crispy at all. The Hawaiian wasn't any better. The sauce on top of everything combined with soggy rice made it to be like sour sweet oatmeal. I have loved Yoshi's for a long time. Ordered our usual Loaded Shrimp and Raging Bull. I don't know if the business has changed hands and / or the chefs have changed, but the quality, taste and appearance of the food was very different. In previous visits, the chicken was very fresh, grilled and flavorful, but the meat texture and taste was not great this time. Shrimp breading was so thick it completely overpowered the shrimp. I'll say it this way, the delicate and flavorful way the food used to bevprepared and presented is gone. And I really appreciated the personal service from staff in the past. This time they had order kiosks you use to order and the process makes you add on things that before were included and didn't get charged for. What used to cost $30 is now $45? It was good. It's not a fancy Japanese place, but boy do they pack them in at lunch. I had the tempura chicken/tempura veg and it came with white rice and I got the spicy teriyaki sauce. Everything was hot and seemed fresh, except that the chicken had obviously been grilled for the grilled chicken menu items, then had the tempura batter put on, then recooked and sliced. It was kinda dry because it was cooked twice. But at least most of it is cooked when you order it, not just sitting on a steam table like Panda Express. So they get some points for that. I'll go back if I'm in the area, but won't go out of my way to go there. read more

Ordered a vegie tempura side. It was undercooked. Still crunchy inside. Way expensive for two little pieces of cauliflower and two small slices of sweet potato. Ordered tempura chicken. It is not tempura! It is a grilled chicken breast dipped in tempura batter and then recooked. Dry as a bone, and chewy. Not at all like good tempura. Some may like whatever it is they do here, but I drove across the valley on the promise of good, real, tempura. Will never do that again. read more

Got the chile chicken rice bowl from the Yoshi's food truck. The flavor is delightful but a little overpowered by onions. Some things that really stood out to me: + Large portions + Good veggies + Good flavor + The chicken isn't the best quality, but it's cooked in such a way that it tastes delicious. It's almost slightly crispy (think, almost-katsu). + Good spicy sauce and sriratcha to apply yourself after getting your food + They use those black disposable dishes with clear lids that some trucks are using these days. It's a small thing, but these are great. Some things that I think could be improved: - Onions. Now, I love love love onions, but this was too much. There was probably an entire raw onion sloppily-chopped up into the bowl. Most bites containing (which was the majority) onion were so overpowering that you can't taste anything _but_. I would suggest taking better care in chopping the onions, and/or even sautee them a bit to help better mesh with the bowl's flavor profile. All-in-all. I would eat here again. read more
