This place is kind of a hole-in-the-wall. I haven't heard of many people that have tried it, but I do think it is recommendable in terms of the options they have! First of all, I LOVE the diversity of the menu. Do you want sushi? They've got it. Want a rice bowl? They've got it. Want a salad? They've got that too. Want a rice bowl and sushi roll? BAM that is an option too! At Yoshi's there is a little something for everyone and I think it is all pretty delicious as well. Give this place a try if you've ever been wondering what it's like! Yoshi's vibe and decor are very simple but it makes for a chill and relaxed vibe. And you can't go wrong with the restaurant music playing favorites like U2 or the Killers! Love it!

We were looking for somewhere to eat before shopping for Toys for Tots and Yoshi's just happened to be in the area and where my husband decided to stop. I was not sure what to expect as I thought we were waking into a sit down restaurant vs. casual dining. As your walking in there are pictures of the menu items along the wall, which were actually a decent representation of the food. The menu has items ranging from sushi, to rice bowls, to salads, many of which looked delicious. We settled on the Godzilla Roll, coconut curry chicken bowl, and yakiniku bowl. The sushi roll was served on a bed of rice, which my son loves, and was definitely on the spicy side. The curry bowl had flakes of coconut on top and the yakiniku bowl had fresh crisp tender veggies. Everything was served piping hot and was absolutely delicious. I was pleasantly surprised with Yoshi's, would definitely recommend and would return.

Yoshis is always my go to for a delicious salad or rice bowl while my hubby likes their sushi rolls. Everything is always made to order, hot and fresh. I love the sesame chicken salad, cranberry walnut salad and their seasonal Okinawa salad. They are all super delicious and filling. Depending upon the weather I also enjoy a side of edamame, miso, egg roll or tempura veggies. The staff is always friendly and prompt in taking your order and answering any questions. If we eat in, they deliver the food to your table. I'm take out is always good too.

First time trying this place. It was decent. My meal was alright, it didn't look that appetizing though. I'd like to try some other stuff on the menu next time though.

Hey Foodies! If you haven't tried Yoshi's you really should! Their food is delicious and their servers are Fast & Friendly. Today (and every time I go to Yoshi's) I get the Enso - it's a chicken rice bowl and you get a sushi roll with it. The Enso is served with spicy mayo which I cannot get enough of. They have a food truck and a store in Murray!

Grabbed a raging bowl to share with a friend what American Japanese food tastes like, now I'm not knocking, their spicy mayo is addicting, but nothing else is worthwhile. However, the sauce alone makes me stop by because it is pretty addicting. If they could step up the rubber chicken in all their dishes, it would supremely bump up their rating. My Japanese friend described it as a 4/10 because of the sauce.

We came here as a recommendation from friends and were disappointed. There were no other customers in the restaurant so the wait was short. We ordered a beef bowl, where all the beef was dry, and a curry bowl, which was too thick and felt like we were eating an old curry roast. The spicy tuna sushi was ok and the only thing I ate that I would recommend.

On a cold and gray Thursday afternoon the only thing that I wanted was some hot food in my gullet. Yoshis delivered! I'm sad to see that others have had a negative experience with the sushi. Parking isn't great although it looks like there was some in the back, I ended up parking at the Maverik gas station right next to it. Yoshi's made me feel nostalgic for a place I used to go for teriyaki bowls in my hometown. It was hot fresh not overly dressed with teriyaki sauce, and they do some really unique fortune cookies that are dipped in chocolate! I was also shocked at how cheap the prices were for the quantity and quality of the bowl that I got. Yoshis is on my list for a place to grab a solid and quick bite in the future.

What I expected, from the picture on the menu board.

I feel like a nice bathroom is rare at a sushi restaurant. We were seated immediately, which is appreciated. We did come at 4:30 on a Saturday, which I think helped. Some of my random, less positive thoughts: There were no napkins, chopsticks, or ginger/wasabi on the table to start with. We have a three year old, so napkins are of vital importance. Every time we asked for napkins, we were given 4-5 cocktail napkins instead of real napkins. This ended up being even more inconvenient when our toddler spilled his miso soup on the table and floor, and we were mopping it up very inefficiently with what they had given us. A California roll being priced at $13 is a little much for us. Again with a toddler, we stick to the basics, and when the basics are pricy, it makes it hard for us to want to come back. They do have a kids' roll with avocado and cucumber--missing the only part my son cares about (crab). As a price conscious, inflation affected individual, I was put off by the least expensive rolls being $13, and most expensive being $17. I got the mango roll as it most closely matched my favorite roll at my favorite restaurant. I would not get it again. My husband got the "sex on the beach" roll and liked it but didn't have any outstanding remarks about it. The good news: - The service was great. Staff were friendly, attentive, and quick. - They handled our son's miso spill with grace. - They had a "sauce basket," which is super cool and unique. - Our coconut shrimp appetizer was AMAZING, as was the sauce that came with it. Seriously, so good. - The portion of noodles for my toddler was really generous for the price, which I appreciated. - I got salmon nigiri which was really good. (Note: if you get a 3 piece nigiri, you can only choose 1 fish.) - I appreciate how many appetizers they have at reasonable prices, and would like to come back just for those, honestly. - The wide variety is nice. I'd like to try sushi pizza sometime. And they have a lot of vegan options for those who are about that. - We had a coupon on the back of our Smith's receipt! If we come back, I think I'd try another roll or two (maybe the Caterpillar, Vegas, Geisha, or Rainbow) but would mainly focus on appetizers and small plates. I think this spot is worth a try if you can budget for it. We are mostly a "happy hour sushi" family and love to stick to our favorite across the street.

Came in for dinner with a party of four and had a great experience overall. We ordered the crispy fried calamari, pork gyozas, and five rolls: the Tsunami, the Spicy Masa, the Vegas, the Jenny, and the Cobacabana. My favorite by a good margin was the Spicy Masa. The habanero sauce is spicy-delicious, with real heat but enough flavor that you keep going back for another bite. The Vegas and Tsunami rolls are crowd-pleasers, and the pork gyozas are a solid starter to share. Service was friendly and attentive throughout the meal, no complaints there. The atmosphere is where I'd push them to level up. The decor is simple and modern, which is fine, but it doesn't create much of a mood, and the dining room gets loud fast. If you're hoping for a quiet, intimate dinner, this probably isn't the spot. For a casual night out with friends or family, though, the energy works. One tip: get a reservation, especially on weekends. Walk-ins can be rough. We skipped drinks and dessert and still landed at around $165, so it's not a cheap night out, but the quality justified the price.

I used to be a big fan of Ika. I've brought countless friends here, I've raved about this place…read more Now I'm here to correct that mistake. The food quality has been slipping for months. I kept giving them the benefit of the doubt. That ends now. Today, we came as a group of five to celebrate my friend. What should have been a memorable evening became one of the most infuriating dining experiences I've had in years. After we sat down, our waitress was nowhere to be seen for 10-15 minutes. Even when we saw her, we flagged her down 3-4 times and were still ignored. I had to physically get up and chase someone down, and still waited another 5 minutes for someone to take our order. There were only 3 tables in the restaurant. The waitress never once asked me or my friend's mom for our drink order- completely skipped over us. And when drinks did come out, she brought the wrong one to my friend's mom. When we asked for water refills. She filled two glasses out of five and walked off, when my glass was near empty. She then dropped a plate on our table. Moments later, I reached for the food and she snatched it back saying it was for another table. Rude doesn't begin to cover it. We asked for an extra spoon, a completely normal request, and it was met with a dirty look, as if we had asked for something outrageous. When I asked for extra ginger, she placed it at the farthest corner of the table. Whether intentional or not, it felt extremely careless and rude. We ordered uni nigiri, which is not a cheap order. It arrived without seaweed. I've ordered uni nigiri many times here, and it's always come with seaweed. When I flagged it, they didn't remake it, just shoved the seaweed under the rice. An insult to a $20+ piece of nigiri. Throughout all of this, this waitress had a visible attitude toward every reasonable request. What made it worse is that I'm Asian myself, and it was clear she was specifically singling out me and my friend's mom above everyone else at the table. The dismissiveness, the hostility, the microaggressions felt pointed and deliberate. I can only call it what it is: racism and sexism. No one should have to feel targeted at a restaurant they've loyally supported for years. Ika has lost a longtime champion. I will be actively discouraging everyone I know from setting foot in this place. Save your money, your time, and your celebration, and go literally anywhere else. ***Update*** I'd like to clarify a few things since the facts were misrepresented by your response. Funny you bring up my arrival time as if that somehow discredits me. I let my group know I would be a few minutes late, and it was not even close to being an hour. What matters is that after I sat down, our entire group waited 10-15 minutes waving down staff and being repeatedly ignored. I then got up and spoke to a different staff member who was filling ginger by the bar, not even our assigned waitress, and she had to find someone else to help us. That is not "flagging rudely", that is a group of paying customers desperately trying to get basic service. Again, there were only three tables including us. You're welcome to review your security footage to verify this. You claim you were watching closely, but if you were running a restaurant, I find it hard to believe you had the bandwidth to monitor our table that carefully. And if you really were watching, you'd know that we tried to flag down a waiter for over 10 minutes. You also never addressed how long the waitress took to take our orders, never asking me for my drink order, bringing my friend's mom the wrong drink, making a disgusted face when we asked for an extra spoon, dropping the wrong dish on our table and rudely snatching it away, and placing the ginger at the farthest end of the table. Funny how none of that made it into your response. Most importantly, you said nothing about your waitress's sexist behavior toward me and my friend's mother. We were singled out, dismissed, and treated with hostility that the rest of our table did not experience. That was the most egregious part of our visit and you chose to completely ignore it. The uni argument is not worth debating. Seaweed in nigiri is a global standard. Doubling down on that is just embarrassing. I even called that evening to provide this feedback directly, and was told the manager was not available and would call me back the next day. That never happened. Instead of having a conversation and being willing to listen, you chose to come onto Yelp and make this a personal attack against me. Our group was only there because of my recommendation. I was your advocate. That ends now, and so does any business I would have ever sent your way. Your response has only confirmed what kind of establishment this is. So as you said best, goodbye!

The service was great and we only waited about 10 minutes for a party of two during a Saturday dinner rush. The gyoza appetizer was delicious. I asked the waitress if it was made fresh in house and she said yes. I could tell right away when they came out that they were, in fact, homemade gyoza. They had the perfect amount of pork filling and the outside was soft and doughy. The dipping sauce added a much desired flavor for the filling. I loved that they added cabbage, carrot, and green onion on the top. The Miyazaki roll was truly delicious. It had the perfect amount of spice, topped with generous wagyu, and filled with the perfect crispy shrimp. The jalapeño aioli was so creamy and delicious. A gentleman finally got up to go strike a match under someone's year end. The young female server comes over half grumpily with a slight wannabe smile, and takes our drink order. She brings most of the drinks fairly quickly. But doesn't even attempt to ask if we're ready to order and we've been there 25ish minutes waiting?! The grill across from us got sat after us and by the time she came back to see if we were ready to order, they were done with the show and eating. *InsertEyeRoll*. She took our orders, repeating them and went on her way and shortly returned with our soup and salad. A few more minutes go by just barely before our cook shows up. He gets asking about everyone's orders and meat preference. Awesome. He starts his show, as always... scrambled eggs and rice first right?! Unfortunately, out of 8 of us 7 ordered fried rice, one steamed. Server brought out steamed rice to the one, and cook dishes out 5 bowls of fried rice. Two of us question where our rice was. So they have to prep and cook in the kitchen. Like WTAF?! But whatever... Cook was good, but not overly funny. He didn't even use the funny oil peeing boy (IYKYK) which my 9yo old always gets excited about. Food was cooked just right IMO but server never came back to refill drinks or see if we needed anything. They don't have yum yum sauce it's something much runnier which was disappointing. After the cook was done, they were practically rushing us out, by picking up plates, offering boxes, and setting new clean dishwater near the grill. I'm glad that they are efficient, but where's my server? Where's my water & wine refill? For a Friday evening and NOT very busy, I was really bummed for how horrible our experience and service was.
