Found my new favorite tea spot! The line was a little long for a Friday afternoon. Torotea does something really clever instead of the usual boba, they pair their teas with flavored jellies, and it completely changes the experience. We tried three drinks and loved all of them: Mulberry Oolong with Osmanthus Jelly is floral and fragrant, the jelly added a delicate sweetness. Cassia Milk Tea with Brown Sugar Jelly is rich, comforting, and the brown sugar jelly melts perfectly into the milk tea. Ember Milk Tea with Barley Jelly is smoky depth from the tea with a subtle nutty chew from the barley jelly. The jellies are so delicious. The seating area is pretty limited and the space feels a bit narrow/tight, so it might not be ideal if you're looking to sit and linger. Best for grabbing your drink to go or a quick sit down.
My new favorite tea spot! Rarely does a tea spot live up to the hype, but Toro tea has done it! We came in on a Saturday, and surprisingly it wasn't too crowded! Everyone talks about the Popcorn Milktea with Brown Sugar Tapiochi. It sounds a little unusual at first, but it ended up being SO good! The black tea with the buttery popcorn twist somehow works so well together! I usually don't like boba, but I'm a fan of their tapiochi! The texture is soft yet springy, and the best part is, it holds up really well the next day (unlike boba)! We also tried a few other drinks like their Mulberry Oolong with Osmanthus Jelly, Calamansi Oolong, Ember Milktea, and Gardenia Oolong. The Gardenia Oolong comes in a larger glass bottle as a pure tea. We enjoyed all of these drinks as well, but the Popcorn Milktea was our fave!
Having tried their other locations in Chino Hills & Diamond Bar, I had to check this location out. First impressions is that their shop is very clean. This shop compared to the other locations is that this shop is more vertical. Parking - Free street parking, no designated parking lot. Staff is quick, friendly, and very casual overall. They'll call out your name when your order is ready, very quick even when it's packed. My go to is always the Popcorn Milk Tea which is a drink that you really can't get anywhere else. Very refreshing and one of their signature and most popular drinks. Highly recommend. My wife usually gets the Cassia but this time around, she tried the Koan-im Oolong Milk Tea which is just another name for tieguanyin or iron buddha type drink. Very refreshing as well and easy to sip. Highly recommend if you want a more floral type drink. Very happy about our experience with Torotea overall, one of the best shops with very high quality drinks. I hope one day they can add drinks with bigger cups, it's just too addicting!
Expect to wait in line, but there is cold cucumber mint water available outside so you can cool off while you wait - such a caring and thoughtful touch. I was surprised that all the drinks with oolong was an additional 15-min wait. Since it's the base of so many of their drinks, why would that not be constantly brewing? There are seats inside and outside, but it can feel a bit crowded. All the drinks on the menu taste refreshing, unique, healthy, and upscale. There's a natural feel to the inside decor.
Very cute boba shop! Boba barista answered all the questions i had about the menu and was very patient. They have street parking in front of the stoor Jasmine oolong milk tea 4/5 it is caffeinated and was the perfect pick me up for studying. The milk tea flavor was light. I got it with black tea tapioca and this really stood out to me. I reallyyyy like the black tea tapioca!! It reminds me of when my mom used to make it at home Popcorn Milktea with Brown Sugar Tapiochi 4/5. Imagine yourself walking through Disneyland and you smell popcorn. This is what the drink reminds me of, the popcorn flavor is very very subtle and not overpowering. It's great to try but i would personally try other drinks when i come back Oojicha Einspanner 5/5!!!!! So yummy!!!!! I would get this drink again!! A little grainy but it has a great warm and nutty flavor. FYI For the einspannser you can't make any adjustments
3 stars After hearing some friends rave about Torotea, I decided to pick up some drinks to try. The service is spotless! The cashier knew his tea and really helped me pick my drinks. There were samples to try, which I believe gets rotated. These were the drinks I got: Pinewood Milk Tea ($6.85): It was good. It tasted like a lighter version of earl grey. 3/5 stars Koan-Im Oolong Milk Tea ($6.85): Also good and very light. This one was supposed to be roasted, but it didn't really stand out. 3/5 stars Both teas I got were quite light. I genuinely don't know if it really lives up to any of the tea shops in Alhambra, but it was decent. Price is on the pricier side. Customer service was great though. Parking is street parking, which is free. I'll come back to try other drinks with their toppings. But for now 3 stars....
First was greeted by one of the friendly staff with a sample of Zesty Oolong. I was debating to order other items but that sample just left me with such impression and I had to order it (perfect sweetness and perfect ice) While waiting, my husband found me and ask what am i doing in a spa needless to say, the ambiance is definitely a world apart from other places. To me Zesty Oolong is similar to a HK lemon tea but this is much more elevated.
The popcorn milk tea was recommended as the drink to try if it's your first time at Torotea. It definitely has a "popcorn" test (mainly in the jelly!) which is unique from other drinks I've tried. Very strong tea flavor which is nice. The matcha einspanner was good but tasted mostly like milk honestly. Inside, the layout is a bit difficult for groups because it's mostly a long hallway, though a very cute aesthetic. They're super friendly to dogs and I was able to bring mine in while waiting!
Toro Tea is a nice little spot in San Marino. The interior is modern, cozy, and very clean. The server was super friendly and offered us samples while patiently explaining the menu and drink options in detail. I ordered the Jasmine Oolong Milk Tea with less sugar and osmanthus jelly. The tea was excellent -- very fresh, flavorful, and you could really taste the quality of the tea. The osmanthus jelly was a great addition and paired well with the drink. I was also lucky that there was no line today, so ordering was quick and easy. Overall, a pleasant experience with great service and tasty drinks. I'll definitely be back to try more items.
I've been to their other location in Diamond Bar a few times. This is my first time at the San Marino location. The store is small with few seatings in the back along the long narrow space. The interior is nice and clean and decorated with a minimalistic aesthetic. There was a also a line when I got here however went fairly quickly. I really love the different types of specialty jelly they have you can add to your drink. I ordered the misty oolong milk tea with osmanthus jelly added. Omanthus jelly is my go to depending on what type of drink. The drink was not too sweet and had a hint of oolong while balanced with a slight sweetness from the osmanthus jelly. Always like to come back! There are always different drinks to try!
This is my new favorite place to get boba! I love their unique flavors. Their top two were their Popcorn Milktea with Brown Sugar Tapiochi and the Ember Milktea with Barley Jelly. My girlfriend and I tried these two and they were so delicious. I love the tapiochi and the popcorn milktea actually tastes like popcorn but not in like an insane/weird way. The drinks here really do manage to capture the essence/vibe of the flavor. The ember drink has a smoky taste that reminds you of the taste of fire somehow. I also love the tapiochi! Never had anything like that! Also shoutout to Yoyo B who was really cool and funny and offered us great suggestions on drinks based on what we typically would order.
The drinks here are really good! I had the popcorn milktea with less sweetness and it is great if you don't like super sweet drinks! I came later at night so it was zero line and the drinks came out fast! The service is also really good and it does have a seating area but it's not the biggest place. They also give free samples! Highly recommend coming back!

I ordered the crème brûlée icemilk with brown sugar tapiochi, and I would definitely get this again 5/5. If you don't like sweet drinks though, this drink probably isn't for you since you can't change the sweetness level (but I loved it!) The two staff members at the counter were both very kind and offered samples and drink recommendations. There's ample parking right out front, but the seating situation inside is a bit weird and uncomfortable.. so this probably isn't the best place to meet with friends or work. read more

Popcorn milk tea w/ brown sugar tapiochi: Literally tastes like popcorn, but not in a bad or weird way at all. It's nutty, rich, and warming. I get the minimal amount of sugar and it's perfect since the brown sugar tapiochi gives it that kick of sugar. Ambience: Very aesthetic and everything matched the vibe in there. There are places to sit and do work. Parking in front! Service: They're all so sweet & willing to help w/ recommendations, especially if it's your first time. read more

Visited on a Sunday and there was a line out the door. The line moved pretty fast. It was super hot outside. There is limited seating inside. It gets crowded. This is more of a grab and go kind of place. I tried the Popcorn milk tea + brown sugar tapiochi & Calamansi oolong + passionfruit jelly both were tasty. Parking was street parking. read more

One of my favorite boba tea shops! The inside is incredibly aesthetic. Staff are super friendly and helpful. I like how they always have samples to try. I've tried the popcorn milk tea and dalgona cloud top and both are great. I recommend the popcorn milk tea if it's your first time because it's so unique. The tea has a buttery fragrance to it without being overpowering. The jelly it comes with is nice and chewy. The dalgona cloud top was also good if you're wanting a heavier creamy and sweet dessert drink. read more

So happy to have finally tried torotea! It's been on my list for a while now and I was able to stop by with a friend on a weekday. No line which was really nice bc we spent some time asking questions about the drinks and flavors without holding others up.. shout out to the super sweet cashier who gave us all her recommendations. (( I'm so sorry I can't recall her name but she had a miffy scrunchie )) We went with the Popcorn milk tea with brown sugar tapiochi and misty oolong milk tea with osmanthus jelly .. both less sweet since that's how we generally like our drinks and it was perfect! I believe their drinks aren't as sweet as other commercial boba places .. we also sampled the blossom black tea which was very tasty and refreshing! I can't wait to come back for more drinks! The shop itself is so gorgeous.. plenty of street parking as well. read more

I've been here twice in the past week and can't get enough! Toro tea is my new fave. They have great tea flavors and the tapiochi is one of the best jellies I've had!!! The inside is hip and welcoming with a bench to sit on. Many times there is a wait because it's quite popular. The staff is always so friendly to help you out with choosing a tea and there are samples that they give out. My first time I tried the popcorn tea which was something different! I would describe it was buttery and almost butterscotch-like! It was quite sweet. I also got an ember tea with barley tapiochi which had a much deeper roasted flavor. The ember is quite nutty if you like something less sweet. The brown sugar tapiochi is AMAZING. Would highly recommend. Last time I got the misty oolong with oosmanthus jelly. The misty oolong had a floral sweet flavor and the oosmanthus jelly was also great, but I kept spitting out little particles of what I presume were tea leaves in the jelly that I didn't love. My partner got the Koan Im Oolong which was more balanced and he loved it! read more

Torotea has a variety of unique drinks with a cozy, aesthetic interior. I ordered the ember milk tea with barley jelly. The jelly was so unique and I don't think I've had anything like it before. The tea was very creamy and my only complaint is it was too sweet even with 25%. I'm so curious about the rest of their menu and I would love to try their tapioca mochi next time! read more
We came here because we usually go to Huntington garden and we wanted a drink, and found that torotea had another location! This new location has a pretty nice vibe! Great place to go for milk tea specifically! Less busy for sure, but depending on the time of the day it can still get busy! We got the Popcorn Milktea & Hojicha einspanner! Both are good but we love the popcorn milk tea!! Parking is available in the front but can get filled sometimes! They provided umbrellas when it was sunny and we waited outside! read more

Torotea is my recent fav spot for boba. I love their unique toppings and high quality tea!! My favorite is the mulberry tea with osmanthus jelly, but definitely try one of the milk teas as well. There can be a line so I recommend coming on a weekday or at odd hours if possible. Service is always great though and there are always samples. Seating is very limited, so unless you're coming at odd hours, don't expect to sit. Especially not for a big party. read more

My friend wanted to treat me to this place for my birthday since she said it was so delicious and flavorful. I decided to try the Popcorn Milk Tea with tapioca mochi & Jasmine Oolong Ice Tea. It was sweet and the tapioca mochi does remind me of grass jelly which was delicious. The drinks were really good. I would order this again. The staff was friendly and helpful. They have decent amount of drinks selection that made it hard for me to really decide which to try. Haha It's good that they have many choices. read more
I loved the popcorn milk tea with the brown sugar tapiochi! I was worried that the popcorn taste would be overwhelming, but it was more like milk tea with a hint of popcorn flavoring which I enjoyed! The tapiochi is a unique take on boba as it is like a mochi jelly. The atmosphere is aesthetic, but does not have too much seating. I came here a second time to try the pinewood milk tea with honey tapiochi, but i liked the popcorn milk tea more. Service was good as they were patient to explain the flavors and they give samples! read more
Wow this is such an amazing boba shop in the area. The line can be long but they provide ice water, sunscreen, and sometimes even umbrellas while you are waiting. I love that their mochi boba is so QQ and not too heavy. Their drinks are also not too sweet which is really nice. I ordered the jasmine oolong milk tea with black tea tapiochi and it was so good. I also got to try their popcorn milk tea and this is definitely more buttery. If you like milkier milk tea's you should get this one. Street parking only. read more
The drinks here are so good! I really enjoy their Ember or Cassia Milk Teas which both have a pleasant roasted nutty flavor. Their Popcorn Milk Tea with Tapiochi is also a must try! Not only is their tea great (and not too sweet), but their Tapiochi topping here is the best. It has a perfect soft, bouncy texture and chew to it. Overall, excellent drinks, and you can tell that they use quality ingredients. Service is good and they usually have tea samples for you to try before purchasing. read more
I cannot recommend this place enough!! Every time I come, I get two drinks for myself and one for every family member. If you're looking for something thick, creamy, and chocolate-y, I personally get the Oojicha Einspanner EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I've tried a bunch of their drinks: + Popcorn Milktea [3.5/5] + Oojicha Einspanner [6/5] (would highly recommend) + Cassia Milktea + Uva Black Tea & Himalayan Sea Salt Foam [5/5] Ever since trying this for the first time in July, I've been back here 4 times out of the 6 days I've visited home. If you haven't been to Torotea, get your keys and start heading out here pronto! I have been to Torotea's newest location on Huntington Blvd in San Marino twice now. They won't be my last for sure. So excited they are here. Both times I got really lucky to encounter very short lines. If the line is long and you want to quench your thirst before getting your hands on a tasty cup of Torotea, they have a small water station conveniently located at the front of the line. Thank you! Ambiance inside is simple, calm, and cute. Bench seating along the wall with very limited table top. One all gender restroom is available behind the curtain in the back of the shop. I was informed this is a grab and go place, hence, the limited table top and seating space. I am grateful to have met their super friendly and helpful staff. They are all very knowledgeable and well trained on their unique drink menu. I was lucky to try free samples of a couple different tea flavors during both my visits. Thank you! For my first time visit, I asked the lady staff to pick her top 4 drinks for me to try. Yes, I trusted her choices. She did amazingly well. Thank you miss! Tip... if you mix Uva & Manor black ice teas together, tea flavor is even more elevated!) #4 Calamansi oolong + passionfruit jelly All drink recommendations were fantastic. Very smooth in tea flavor and not too sweet. Popcorn and Ember milk teas were the lightest in tea flavor IMHO. My top #1 favorite so far is the Cassia milk tea which has the most potent and quite elevated tea flavor which I enjoyed very much. Their chewies known as tapiochi and jelly are amazingly irresistible! Hands down a whole lot better than your run of the mill standard boba. I am a believer in the goodness of their chewies! OMG the Oojicha Einspanner!! I am living for it! Okay, I think I may have found the next best place for Einspanner. Their creamy top is so thick, rich and flavorful - some places serve einspanner and the cream top just mixes into the drink. But THIS?! I am still sippin on it and it is such a good balance. I feel like its never meant to be stirred, just slightly shaken and sipped. Their take on this is Oolong roasted like Hojicha. Just, WOW. 1000/10! The women at the front were so kind, sweet & knowledgeable. Patient as well, since I couldn't quickly decide on what to order. They made a suggestion of their Popcorn Milk tea with Tapiochi(tapioca mochi!) , which I also ordered. ( yes I bought two drinks for myself haha) . It really is the perfect sweetness & the tapiochi is so unique! The space feels like I am walking into a serene space... like a spa, but for my tastebuds. I am definitely coming back ! read more

A spot with some of the most unique tea flavors. Very strong tea taste without it being too overpowering. I always appreciate when tea shops focus more on the teas rather than just syrup flavorings. We tried the jasmine oolong tea and the Koan-Im milk tea with Himalayan salt cream. Both were so refreshing and paired well with their tapiochi (a mix between boba + mochi) which was also unique! Only thing is the pieces were so large in mine that it barely fit in the straw.. other than that love this spot! Will definitely be coming back. Service was some of the best I've experienced. No line so the cashier answered all our questions about every tea option and gave us recs based on our preferences. Theres a bench of chairs and there were enough spots to sit on a Friday afternoon. I got the Koan-im oolong milk tea with the crème brûlée cream top and brown sugar tapiochi (tapioca mochi). It's.... not my cup of tea. The crème brûlée top is super thick and it was hard to mix into the drink. I didn't love the tapiochi mochi either. It's a little more chewy than grass jelly but the brown sugar flavor was too light. The tapimochi ended up at the bottom of my cup along with all the crème brûlée. After all the add ons my drink was about $9 and super mediocre. I also ordered the matcha einspanner which tasted like ice cream and really good. I'd order this again. Popcorn milk tea with tapioca tasted just like a Jelly Belly buttered popcorn. Not my favorite either but husband liked it. Service was amazing, the barista was super nice and helpful in answering all our questions. Nice to talk to a person when visiting for the first time instead of just trying to figure it out on a kiosk. If I came here strictly for tea without milk or adds ons it's a pretty solid choice but I like my dessert drinks and my boba so don't think I'd come back. read more
This was my second time coming to Torotea but first time going inside to order! The place is so cute and minimalist. I came on a Saturday at 6pm and there were a decent amount of people here. The store is located on Huntington Dr and they have lots of free street parking available. When I walked in, the lighting was dim and had an off-white color. I think they use a projector to show their menu. The menu had lots of variety that showcased their own creations along with just their milk teas and teas. At the time, they had someone asking if they could help you decide what to order which was really nice! They even offer free samples of their tea so you can buy their packaged bottles to take home. I ordered the Popcorn Milktea with Brown Sugar Tapiochi and Cassia Milk Tea with Brown Sugar Tapiochi. The total came out to be $15.70 for the two drinks. While you're waiting for your drink, there's a small hallway where they have tables and seats to wait at. If there's none available, they have some small stools outside along with a water dispenser! Drinks: First off, I need to give their brown sugar tapiochi a 10/10. This topping comes in a square form and has a perfect texture. It has a grass jelly silkiness with a boba chewiness. I never crave the toppings when it comes to having milk tea but this one was a NEED with every sip. Popcorn Milk Tea w/ Brown Sugar Tapiochi (9/10): This drink is so unique but so delicious with a slightly terrifying name. When you think popcorn, you think butter popcorn first right? This was completely opposite. It has a caramely undertone that compliments their milk tea and tapiochi so well. I got this one less sweet with less ice and the sweetness was perfect. Cassia Milk Tea w/ Brown Sugar Tapiochi (6/10): I didn't really enjoy this one as much. It tasted really milky and didn't have much of a tea flavor. I was hoping that the tapiochi could save it but it just didn't really help. I got this one less sweet and less ice. read more
One of my new favorite spots for milk tea. There's many unique flavors and I love how the interior is decorated. The wait can be a while depending on location and day but the service is still very welcoming! My go-to is the Koan-Im Oolong Milk Tea with Brown Sugar Tapiochi. I used to get the Dalgona Cloud Top Koan-Im Oolong Latte which is also super yummy. If you like things similar with cheese foam I recommend the Dalgona. read more

Hands down my favorite boba place. The tea flavors are so strong and the texture of the tapiochi is to die for. If you've never tried it, the texture is like a chewy jelly. It is the perfect addition to the drink because it doesn't make it too filling but it adds texture and a bit of sweetness and flavor to it still. The store is super aesthetic and the employees are always so nice, offering recommendations and samples! I'm not a milk tea person, so my go tos are always the osmanthus citrus refresher or calamansi oolong with black tea tapiochi. read more

Torotea now has a 2nd location in the San Marino area and is continuing to solidify themselves as one of the top boba spots in SoCal and beyond! There is no parking lot at this location, but there is a decent amount of street parking right in front of the shop. Wifey and I stopped by after lunch to grab a drink and there was about a 20 minute wait. Inside, they have the same sleek and modern interior as their first location with slightly more seating options. For their menu, they also have the same solid options with a couple location exclusives. I ended up getting the Osmanthus Oolong Refresher and wifey got the Koan-im Oolong Milk Tea. Overall, both drinks that we had hit the spot and were amazing palette cleansers after our lunch. You can definitely tell that they focus on quality and attention to detail with their drinks. All of the staff here are very friendly and welcoming. You really cannot go wrong with anything you order here! read more
Great quality milk teas, and great location. My friends have been hyping it up for ages so I was excited to hear this location opened with online ordering. I love that the location is right outside the Huntington Library, so I can pick up a treat whenever I'm around. I've ordered a couple times and tried various drinks. Each time I picked up there was a line and only one person at the register. I do skip the line and ask to pick up my drinks because I'm not hurting others if my drinks are already ready, but they could benefit from a clearer pickup method. When I picked up a drink on a weekday morning, it was ready in 5 minutes; when I picked up 5 drinks on a busier Friday afternoon, the drinks were ready within 20 minutes. The drinks are particular with very little customizability, using real milk, and on the pricey side reflected in their quality. I'd say if these are concerns, that this place is good as a treat but you can find plenty of great quality options at a lower price point all around 626. The tapiochi is jelly-like with a chew, and does retain its chewiness the next day. I like their tea tapiochi the most. The brown sugar tapiochi is good, and I would reduce the sweetness of my drink to 0 if I add it since it adds sweetness. They don't have many caffeine-free options. Drinks I've tried: - popcorn milk tea with brown sugar tapiochi - yummy corn flavor, one of their best drinks - koan im oolong milk tea - my favorite, just a great nutty drink. - manor black milk tea - I did not like the fruity notes - misty oolong milk tea - yummy maltiness My friends also got jasmine matcha lattes which I didn't try. Wow! Finally we got to try this fancy tea place! The last time we attempted to try was when it first opened and it was too long of a line so we gave up. I was debating if I wanted a drink because it was my friends that was craving it. However, I was intrigued by their cream brûlée cloud drink! It's very pricey but it looked so good from the yelp pictures! I decided to order it and omg it totally didn't disappoint and surprised me how good it was!!!! Their cream brûlée topping and the homemade brown sugar jelly was so delicious! I love milk and eggs flavors and this is everything I love all together! It's a dessert rather than a drink. Honestly I felt so happy having such a delicious drink! A great dopamine boost! My friends also were impressed with their drinks too! I definitely want to come back again but worried about gaining too much weight from it. lol I highly recommend this place!! The ambience was very nice and had a very different vibe than regular boba places. It feels like a high end tea shop! The quality of the tea really aligned with the atmosphere! read more

In a very suburb like town area, has some parking along the front but not much space (inside crowded, outside limited shade but they do offer anemities). They usually have a sample of a new drink at the front and they kind of call people in one by one. Its quite efficient. Its only one topping per drink. Ice level either full or none but they dont load with too much ice. I got the popcorn milk tea with the tapiochi and the mulberry tea with osmanthus jelly. Popcorn milk tea- actually has a roasted "popcorn" like flavor ( more similar to the popcorn korean snack where its a styrafoamy than butter movie theater popcorn) got it less sweet, pretty good. The jelly is a nice texture not too crunchy or soft so you can still have some tapioca chew. The brown sugar tapiochi is sweet (not covered in syrup it appears to be mixed into the jelly mix) Mulberry black tea with osmanthus- kind of whatever. Tasted mostly black tea with some fruit taste. Think the mulberry would be stronger with more jam/syrup. The two flavors are there but it ended up kind of leaning more watery/ tea taste. At least the tea was not astringent. The osmanthus jelly didnt really have a strong osmanthus flavor Inside is aesthetic but crowded, efficient staff. Some seating bench in a hallway but more to wait for order. Better for takeout. I would recommend coming here to try their unique topping! Milk tea better than fruit tea. read more
Welcoming Tearista"s sampling their cold brew and making recommendations to curious customers, including me. Tried their most popular popcorn drink and I'll definitely be back again to possibly try something new. Or get the drink again. I came in the late afternoon and there were only a few people in line. They have a long strip of seating and then some tables in the back. Street parking was easy. Ordering is easy at the front and our drinks came out fairly quick. I got the popcorn milk tea and I think my favorite part is the jelly. I love the texture of it! read more
Oh, Torotea, since you've been hyped up in Diamond Bar, I've been meaning to try... but unwilling to wait for an hour in a small parking lot. This location, though, has a good amount of parking and is in a less busy part of town - yay! Once inside, the staff were warm, welcoming, and shared a sample of one of their drinks with my party. For starters, I had to try the Popcorn Milk Tea with Brown Sugar Tapiochi... forgot the sugar adjustment, oops! First impressions? Oh, this is... milk tea infused with the taste of popcorn... (Why didn't I expect this?) It was pleasantly surprising to say the least. Next was their Tapiochi, which could be a boba substitute. Wow, this Tapiochi creation is amazing. A nice chewy texture between jelly and boba... The interior? It's a long alley with some seating along the wall and a few tables. Other than that, nothing too big. If you're coming with a large group, expect to loiter around outside. But if you enjoy the atmosphere inside, most of their drinks have an earthen color, and their beige palette decor and interior complements every drink well. 10/10. Relaxing, refreshing, rejuvenating. Glad to see a new boba shop offering unique flavors and toppings. With all the boba shops around the SGV area, what really stood out to me that drove me in were the unique tea flavor offerings such as their Pinewood tea and Popcorn tea. Additionally, instead of traditional tapioca pearls (aka, boba), they offer tapioca mochi, which is a fusion of tapioca starch + mochi (tapiochi). The ambience kind of gives this Star Wars cave-like theme. It's clean inside, but the space is very narrow and tight inside. There's a bench where people can sit to wait for their drinks and 3 standing height wall tables toward the back. It's best to get your drinks to-go. Staff were very quick in making the drinks despite the amount of people ordering. 1. Popcorn Milk Tea with Brown Sugar Tapiochi (5/5) This drink was super special and I loved everything about it. It legitimately had a popcorn-like flavor, but it didn't taste like those artificial flavorings. I am not sure what type of tea gives this popcorn-like flavor note, but it was very enjoyable and you can tell it's a natural flavor from steeped tea leaves. The tapiochi (tapioca + mochi) is more like a jello than boba, but yet, it had a nice mochi-like texture as well. Chewy in the QQ way, soft, and slightly sweet. My new favorite milk tea drink 2. Pinewood Milk Tea with Barley Jelly (4.5/5) Another unique tea flavor that I have not encountered before. Whatever tea they used to brew this, it sure gives off a nice "smoked wood" flavor with a hint of nuttiness. The barley jelly had a very light barley flavor that paired well with the musky woodiness of this tea. It was definitely more jelly-like in consistency compared to the tapiochi. The jelly pieces looked huge, but surprisingly, they can easily be sucked up through the straw. Note: their milk tea drinks all have a light layer of frothy milk foam on top. (+) Misty Oolong Milk Tea Torotea is the next biggest trend in the SGV. I normally don't write reviews for just one visit, but now I can see why people are intrigued to try torotea out. It's definitely a vibe with the interior design of the shop and the attention to detail in their brewed teas. There is another location in Diamond Bar, but glad this location in San Marino opened up. Drinks: I tried the Misty Oolong milk tea. I asked what made it misty and cannot give you an exact quote, but something about the tea being brewed for a specific amount of time in order to give a lighter taste of the oolong. After one sip, I noticed a difference between this "Misty" oolong versus normal oolong brewed tea. Their boba replacement is a product called tapiochi, which is a tapioca mochi. I wished they were cut a little smaller so I could get an equal amount of drink and tapiochi. I wasn't fond of fishing for my tapiochi because it was really delicious and me wanting more Service/Ambiance: The service was excellent. There was a lady standing outside directing people into the shop and answering questions I had. I only waited 5 minutes in line. They had a water dispenser to keep yourself hydrated while waiting in line during the summer months. Inside the shop was so cute. I liked how the menu was projected on the wall above the registers. Overall, I would recommend torotea for your tea needs and desires. The prices of the drinks can be hefty, but it is worth the experience and quality of product. read more
I'm glad I found this on Apple Maps! Originally, we went to a different tea place just two blocks down, but they were out of matcha, so we drove down to check out Torotea. Street parking right on Huntington Drive can be tricky when it's busy, but we were lucky to find one spot really close. The counter is right next to the door, so we were greeted before we fully stepped inside. The two ladies behind the counter today (Friday, September 19), around 2 PM, were very welcoming and provided samples of Pinewood Milk tea, which is available only at this location. The inside is not very spacious, but beautifully decorated. I imagine the line goes out the door when it's very busy. There's a minimalist aesthetic. There's a hallway with a bench by the wall to wait for your order, but no dine-in tables. Looks more like grab and go. The drinks are pretty unique, and I really wanted to try the Tapiochi since not many places offer mochi toppings, and this is the first I've heard of tapioca mochi. I ordered the Popcorn Milk Tea with Brown Sugar Tapiochi with perfect ice and perfect sweetness. My brother got the same thing. My mom ordered a Matcha Einspanner. We enjoyed our drinks. Perfect amount of sweetness, not too sweet. The Tapiochi goes up the straw smoothly. I will definitely be back to try some more. read more

Ordered the cassia milk tea, matcha eispanner, and the ice cream creme brulee and enjoyed all of them! The tapiomochi had a very interesting texture of a very very soft boba. I am still unsure if I really liked it but the drink itself was really good. The matcha esipanner was devoured and has a rich matcha flavor. The drinks are also perfectly sweet which I appreciate because most boba places have sweet drinks and tend to taste milky if it is less sweet. But not here, the drinks have a nice tea flavor. I tried the cassia milk tea because they had samples which is really nice because I haven't tried it before. The interior is modern/boho/minimalist (?). It is so cute and a great place to sit and chat with some from friends while sipping on your drinks. There was also no line when I came and drinks came out pretty fast. First time trying this place. There is sufficient street parking. Their storefront is pretty small so they had a line going at the entrance to get inside to order. The wait wasn't too long thankfully but it was considerate of them to provide iced water and umbrellas to guests. Staff was friendly and quick at the register. We got three drinks, and added the tapiomochi for $0.70 extra. - jasmine oolong pure tea ($5.50) - misty oolong pure tea ($5.50) - jasmine oolong milk tea ($6.50) They only have one size, a pretty small cup as a matter of fact for the price. Their tea does taste authentic and their tapiomochi is unique (a moderate chewy like boba and grass jelly) but at a pretty high price point compared to other places. read more
