I frequent their Rowland heights location a lot and I'm extremely disappointed with this SG location. First off- I noticed they offer 30% sugar level for several of their drinks which the RH location doesn't offer. I got 30% sweet for all my drinks- the pomelo sago, glutinous rice milk tea and their new peach grapefruit jasmine jelly tea. The pomelo sago and peach drink both ended up tasting like 100% sugar or more. The glutinous rice milk tea was more like 30% but wasn't as good as the RH location. I always get 50% sugar at their RH location and it's just right. Their 30% is even sweeter than RH 50%. I even went to their RH location the next day and got the same drink to compare. RH 50% sugar is no where close to the cup of diabetes I received here. The pomelo sago had very chunky mangoes that tasted very old. It was very stringy and kept hanging onto the straw when I drank. Not very fresh tasting. The peach grapefruit is a smoothie type blend and it was more like an icee- ice and syrup. After a bit, it started tasting like sickly sweet cough syrup. The glutinous rice didn't seem to be cooked long enough and it wasn't gummy enough. Didn't give off that sticky chewy taste that the RH location always achieves. Not sure if this is an off day but it's truly disappointing. Either they messed up my drinks or something is wrong with their sugar options. It's been incredibly hot and humid lately, so luckily there are plenty of places in the SGV to grab a refreshing drink! I arrived right when Auntea Jenny opened at 11:30am, so there was hardly any wait. I ordered the Jasmine Matcha Green Tea and really enjoyed it. It was smooth and fragrant, and I could taste both the matcha and jasmine without either flavor overpowering the other. I opted for half sugar, and even though it was a hot day, the Chinese in me still requested half ice. My only complaint is the extra lid they put on top of the drink. Since it's already a cold drink, I'm not sure it's necessary and it just creates additional waste. Maybe it's done for aesthetic purposes? ‍ This is definitely more of a grab-and-go spot. We've crisscrossed Taiwan and Singapore sampling boba shops on both sides of the strait, so we don't say this lightly: the pomelo mango sago is a perfect dessert in a cup. The tea was very light. Almost like drinking water with a hint of peach. The only one that was good was the Lemon Iced tea lol I guess it's the most simple one to make. This plaza and the surrounding area was such intense competition for milk tea LOL. Felt like every few miles you could find tons of milk tea store from the small local ones to the big global brands. Auntea Jenny was one of the relatively new kid on the block, and as expected successfully drew the crowd. Definitely pre order online to skip the line; as the venue was pretty packed and humid. Very limited seats anyway, so most likely you would have your drinks for to go. We got their Premium Jasmine Milk Tea and Da Hong Bao Milk Tea, with default 70% sweetness and light ice. We loved both of 'em and thought that it really depended on your tea preference to decide which one's better, either you loved something more fragrant and floral or more darker roast one. YMMV, but we fancied the default 70% sweetness with easy ice as it just suited our palate well. The flavor of fresh mango and chill coconut milk always soothes my throat and makes me feel reinvigorated. Also, its crystal pearls give a friendly "pop" whenever I bite into them. This drink continues to be one of my favorites. YUM! On ambiance, Auntea Jenny (San Gabriel) felt awkward. I don't know if Staff knew (perhaps from limited English) but the loud music on their speakers was rap with a lot of profanity and expletives. This music style was nonstop. It was surreal. Auntea Jenny (San Gabriel) is also very small with no visible bottle of hand sanitizer, no visible trashcan (I had to hand my trash to a Staff member), and no indoor restroom. It's a tiny, relatively clean place. There's only one short bench and one tiny table with two chairs. Overall, I had a pleasant experience. Also for a boba shop I'm pretty surprised and excited about the healthy options I had to try the multigrain fiber drink. Very much tasted like corn milk tea and I'm obsessed. We tried the Longjing tea latte which is a type of green tea but better. We also tried the Longjing green mochi fresh milk tea. I didn't love the mochi but they weren't terrible. They had a bit too much of a starchy taste for my preference. Maybe would have preferred if they were sweeter. The shop has some sitting space and the service was okay.
