This used to be THE place to go for real, authentic delicious Italian food, and it still attracts a good crowd. But, lately, we were shocked by a few dishes that once were reliable staples. I don't know if they hired a new cook, but we should call them Salty Sam or Salty Samantha! Most of the dishes we ordered were very good, such as the Artichoke French, Broiled Haddock or Haddock French and the Chicken Parm. was just OK, but they ran out of Lasagna. The sodium shocker was the Chicken Noodle Soup. Loaded with overly soft veggies, a couple noodles and loaded with CELERY SALT? Sent back. A very long wait for our food on this Saturday night. A month and a half later, we went back with friends again. This time we sampled the Chicken Noodle Soup and - still too salty. The Greens & Beans used to be excellent, but tonight this was too salty, the greens were tough and very few beans were found. Crab Cakes (2) were big, but not much of them seemed to contain crab, plus, the flavor was off. Roasted Garlic Soup was good enough, but too salty. The others with us seemed OK with their choices. Just came from dinner order chicken riggies and calamari as my appetizer the calamari was so overcooked I asked for a new plate they delivered me the same exact texture of calamari very chewy and overcooked my chicken rigatoni was very dry with not a last sauce I asked for more sauce it came back with very little extra sauce I am not happy for paying $35 and still being hungry I will never go back there for dinner they can't even give butter with their bread I shouldn't have to ask for obvious things read more

First time at Torrey Park. Their menu seemed pretty extensive and I was excited to check it out but unfortunately compared to other Italian restaurants I frequent, I was hoping for more. I will say for a party of six and ordering a bottle of wine, for the bill to be around $160.00 was unbelievable! Prices were pretty good and four out of the six really enjoyed their meals (fettuccini Alfredo, chicken french, veal parm and a pasta with red sauce were all enjoyed). I had the breaded scallops with a baked potato and my scallops were undercooked. I'm pretty shy about returning food so I just didn't eat much other than my potato. My boyfriend got the chicken Parmesan and he thought the chicken was overdone. To have a fair assessment, he prefers it crispy on the outside with tender, juicy chicken on the inside and the sauce was so hot it made the breading a bit mushy. We really enjoyed our bottle of Dreaming Tree red wine and you also get unlimited fresh bread with minced garlic and butter and that was tasty, too. We definitely needed a reservation for a Saturday night as it was pretty busy so I highly recommend calling ahead. I was impressed by its decor, small list of wines and professional waitstaff. We were in a larger group. We weren't set up quickly but when we were, we were served promptly. I was impressed with the fresh garlic served with the bread. There were a lot of specials available and many of them sounded wonderful. I tried a special appetizer and it was delicious but more fried than expected. I ended up ordering a smaller portion of pasta because I had just been traveling and wasnt too hungry. My husband and I had a party of 8 for our 10 year anniversary dinner on 10/12. The food was to die for. Everything was perfect. Everyone was satisfied with the service, drinks, food and just everything they put together for us from preparing our table to bringing out a cake we had ordered from bagels and cakes and putting 10 candles on it and bringing it to us. I can't imagine a negative review on such a great place and the food is by far the best Italian food we have had besides NYC! Sooo happy and grateful for everything they did for us. Such a lovely, beautifully decorated place. The bar area fun and comfortable. Our table was waiting. Ordered a great bottle of red wine which we shared which we enjoyed and the price was just right. The appetizers were to die for. Try the whipped ricotta or any of them. We ordered several. The dinner menu held many choices but we went with the special. Delicious as was the bread the server brought to us with our meals. The pizza selections are also great. I also have to mention how easy making the reservation was using Resy. this restaurant has reopened under a new generation. the interior is casual modern but elegant and so is the menu. we stopped by late on a Thursday night and happy the kitchen was open and delivered us to a table near the fireplace. we had the delicious artichoke french appetizer, two good cocktails, the short rib special that night and a pasta with a mushroom "bolognese" All delicious and fresh and made in house! the salt bread served was crusty and fresh and our server was perfect! we tried the butterscotch pot de creme for dessert - their signature dessert- another delight. Cozy elegant bar, nice seating options and an attractive setting- and quite reasonably priced. you can't go wrong. read more

Amazing food and service! Our waitress was so sweet and always there to refill drinks and such. Kitchen was quick with orders of our food. Everything for bread to entrees to the dessert was flavorful and plentiful. We all took at least half of our meals home as there were large portions. They don't have a house wine...a glass of wine was 11$, my son's pizza was burnt, no bread was offered with meal and cost 7$ for 5 slices.... exactly 4 shrimp in a cocktail was 16$. Went here on the recommendation of a business associate. Looking for a place that takes reservations in Geneva is a little difficult, but Torrey Park accommodated. Seated on time even though it was busy. Well made drinks and the cool chopped garlic with the bread was a nice touch. Salads are what I call generic Italian, the NY Strip I had was good, perfectly cooked and served with a giant side of spaghetti and red sauce. DD's chicken Marsala was way, way good. DW's lasagna was just OK. Here's the good news; 2 Martinis, 3 Entrees, 1 Bottle of Chianti, 2 Desserts all together less than 110.00 That's amazing. The food is decent enough. We had a table of 4 and had the lasagna, the gnocchi, a make your own pasta and the stuffed pasta. It was all tasty but nothing extraordinary. The waitress was not great. When we were seated there was only one other party but yet it took 15 minutes to get drinks. She checked back on us shortly after we got our food but then never again. We stumbled across this place by asking locals where they love to eat. This place really felt like a home, from the ambience to the service. Our waitress answered each of our (numerous) questions with a smile and it was much appreciated. After ordering my meal I realized I had misspoken and wanted something else-- everyone was so accommodating and it made our dinner so nice. I've been here multiple times because I wanted it to get better, but sadly, it never did. This place is a huge disappointment both food and service wise. Yes, the portions are large. But what good are large portions if the food is terrible? The last time I went, the red sauce had a horrible burned, bitter flavor to it. Disgusting. If an Italian restaurant can't make edible sauce, it should not be in business. The time before that, it took an hour to be seated after being told it would take only half and hour. It took another 20 minutes to be waited on. Then it took another hour plus to get our food and get the hell out of there. Our waitress was just awful that time... she would walk by us multiple times deliberately not making eye contact even though we clearly needed drink refills, etc. Most of the waitstaff seem to do their best and I feel sorry for them but I think they are just understaffed and have unskilled people in the kitchen. It is totally not worth the money. I wish Geneva had a place like this that was actually good... I'd go every week! First time here, we went on a whim as there isn't much to choose from in Geneva. We were pleasantly surprised! They give you bread and garlic. yum! I got the broccoli and mushroom over pasta and it was delicious! The wine garlic sauce was so good I wanted to drink it. My love got eggplant parm. I believe it was an entire eggplant! We were a party of six outdoors. Tables well spaced and very relaxing setting. Amanda took terrific care of us. Menu was moderate in size and reasonably priced. This was our first time at Torrey Park Grill, and it was a date night; which we took my sister and a great friend along. The service was impeccable! Our server, Rose, was phenomenal! Attentive, (yet her timing was spot on, not too many visits to the table; yet enough that we did not feel ignored). She had a wonderful personality. The food from appetizers to dessert was delicious, the portions generous. If I had any suggestion it would be that the bread that was introduced with the water, (which was offered with a small cup of garlic..L O V E, what can I say, I'm Italian)should be accompanied with warmed/room temperature butter. Bland Italian-American style food, nothing is seasoned except by having everything swim in marinara sauce and a sprig of parsley. The place actually opens at 5, not at 4 but even by 6 nobody is actually going there. We had a party of four, gnocchi was just plain doughy balls barely cooked with marinara sauce. Chicken parm was made with cornmeal and had no seasoning given the consistency of the chicken this was frozen, pasta was boxed and undercooked, sauce was noticeably from a can - not even salt or pepper on anything. Chicken fingers and fries for the kids were the frozen kind as well, not fresh chicken which has a different texture. Open bottles of cheap Sysco brand olive oil on every table - they do keep it open, all day and night. By the time we left only 2 tables had been filled and 4-5 wait staff standing around which is a decent indicator of what the locals think of the place. Gets an extra star for very good service from our waiter but it doesn't make up for the canned, frozen foods. read more

A group of us were in Geneva for a Finger Lakes wine trip this past week and we had reservations Monday night for dinner here. I was skeptical at first, based on scanning the previous reviews, but this place couldn't have Been better in all areas. The service was excellent from the moment we walked in the door. We were seated immediately and the waitress was very attentive through out the entire meal. The dining room was comfortable and well decorated. As for the meals everyone in our party was extremely happy with their meals. I can only speak for mine, which was the lasagna. It was one of the best I have ever had. (I had the leftovers for lunch the next two days.). We will definitely make a return trip to Torrey Park when we are here next October. read more

The Torrey Park Grill is the old "Pronti's". From the web page, it looked like they had revamped the restaurant. Nope. I'm glad we tried it before taking clients there. Service was slow. The dining room looks old and tired. The baked potato was brown inside and the prime rib was unremarkable. I'm being generous with 2 stars. Nice restaurant and good food but expect the unexpected uncomfortable situation when the meal plates come out at different times and no one knows when to start eating. One meal came out at 25 minutes after everyone else ( group of 7). It was extremely awkward. Restaurant did not offer any explanation. Apparently the owner was on site and did not make any presence. If you're looking for tasty, mostly Italian food, this is the place. And, the portions are usually very large. Service is prompt and attentive. My wife usually judges the effectiveness of the service by the attention they place on keeping your water glass full and the staff at Torrey Park pass with flying colors. The restaurant setting is the greatest - on a city side street. If you go there on a cold day, ask for the table by a working fireplace which has a large LCD TV above it - perfect for me and the wife. read more

My Husband and I walked in and a server said someone would be with us shortly. It didn't seem too busy, we stood by the door for about 5 minutes as multiple servers just walked past us. My wife and I went there last night for our Anniversary Dinner. The last time we were there, a few years ago, we were not at all happy with the service or food. We went back because we had a gift certificate. Well what a wonderful surprise, our dinner was top notch and our server, Mary, was great and we really enjoyed out dinner there. Dined there tonite. We were seated promptly and the service was excellent. The calamari appetizer was very good. Unfortunately, things went downhill after that. I love brasciole and was looking forward to trying their Pork Brasciole. My partner was in the mood for seafood and ordered the seafood platter. Both entrees were disappointing. The brasciole was a slice of pork wrapped around a cylinder of bread stuffing and covered in a tomato sauce that tasted like something out of a can. The accompanying pasta was covered in the same sauce. My partner ordered the seafood deep-fried and boy was it. It was so dark that it should never have made it out of the kitchen. I wanted to send it back but my partner refused to do so. How do you burn lobster? The server admitted that it looked over-cooked but my partner did not want to wait for a second entree to be prepared. But, as I said, someone in the kitchen (chef?) should have never allowed it to be served. I know members of the family that own this and other restaurants in the area and I have to say this place is a real disappointment compared to their other establishments. read more
