Man o man, what a place!!! Gorditas (carne asada or pollo asada) with everything is my favorite from this place. So so good!!! The burritos are great as well and big, but I would rather eat the gorditas. The maza is delicious and the toppings are really fresh and tasty! So with a name like Tortilla Town ... I mean I had to go ... like I HAD to go there. So I did. The burrito sounded like way too much food. The tacos seemed like they would have been enough to hold me over until lunch. The gorditas sounded just right. Serving size of everything is 3 (other than the burrito, omg that would be ridiculous) 3 corn shells, made on site, not made to order. Stuffed with whatever you want. I got the pastor since it was just sitting there in front of me and looked pretty good. It was alright actually. They sort of put a lot of filler in there though. I am not a fan of lettuce so they compensated with ... cheese. All in all though the gordita itself was actually tasty, the pastor was alright. Stopped here on our drive from Palm Springs to monterey! It's in a great location right by the hwy 101 entrance. It's a small restaurant there are only 5 tables but it looks like most ppl get food to go. We each had a burrito. I had the carne asada with rice black beans , cheese, guacamole and salsa verde my husband had one with carnitas they were both delicious and super flavorful! If we lived near by we would go back but at least we have a good place to stop the next time we go south! read more

I went here a while back with some friends on our way down to Pismo Beach, I was thinking this was going to be a regular little Mexican place but it was great. You have a few basic choices... Burrito (massive), 3 soft tacos, 3 hard shell tacos, 3 gorditas, salad, or secret menu item nachos... All items are under $10.00 The set up is that of a chipotle... Carne asada is very well seasoned, ( I think it's juicy, thinly sliced flank steak, not much fat, which is good, in my opinion) grilled chicken is good, carnitas aren't your typical carnitas, they are more of a pork barbacoa, (pork meat has been stewed for hours, making it super tender, good flavor but not real carnitas) they also offer barbacoa, and al pastor... All their tortillas are freshly made... That is what makes the difference between this place and chipotle... For those of you that don't know what a gordita is, well, it's basically like pita bread, except it's made from corn and it is dense. It is opened and stuffed with meat of your house and fillings... Restaurant has 4 booths, so limited seating, not a problem though, most people order to go... Staff is friendly and fast... I do not recommend the guacamole, it is puréed, not traditional guacamole, not much flavor unfortunately... If you like your good spicy, they the salsa roja!!! That is delicious!!! read more

I usually don't write reviews but, We stopped at Tortilla Town on our trip down to LA. The burritos seemed good, but after a day my family felt sick and was throwing up. I would not recommend, especially don't try the Al Pastor ( The meat my family got). read more

An okay place to stop if you don't want Taco Bell or sit down. Meat has always been been dry whenever I've been by. Pricey for a meal, two tacos, a big burrito, and two drinks was over $18. Only a few booths in the building and a few outdoor bench tables. read more

It's good food. It's just like chipotle but the meat is a bit tastier. The price is about 8.00 dollars a burrito plus drink so a little pricey for a mex food. What made it four stars was their grilled jalapeños. I'd eat there again. Gotta say the service was great though. read more

Food and restaurant are both good! Enjoy coming in with my family often. Recently we have notice after sitting down to eat, employes talking/whispering amoungst each other rude conversations about other customers in the restaurant. By talking to one another in Spanish thinking maybe others won't understand their conversations. This was discouraging to be around while trying to enjoy a meal. This place is righteous and kick ass. I'm staying in the Best Western next door so I've eaten here three times this week. The food has been outstanding every time. The staff looks happy to be there and is very nice to a gringo like me. The tacos carnitas are my favorite. I might be addicted to these tacos, I mean, they're just amazing.
