Very simple menu here, but it's all quality AND quantity here...which is rare. I chose the El Jefe Burrito and my husband ordered the carne asada nachos (nachos are not on the menu-but just ask and they'll make em) AND we ordered a bag of chips with guacamole...we could not finish ANYTHING! The food was amazing, fresh meat is being cooked constantly, the guac and salsas are all great, I can't think of one thing to complain about. Plus, all the food we ordered came to $22 and change!!! Normally a meal like this would be $35, granted you order at a counter and seat yourself, but the place is CLEAN and the staff was super friendly! Who needs a waitress with customer service like that! The place is super tiny inside, they have four or five booths that might hold 4 small people and there is seating outside as well, but I would not recommend this place for a large group to sit down and eat...BUT definitely order your food ahead of time and take it home!!! Whoa! This place is fantastic! How can it only have 3.5 stars? I stopped in just before 8pm tonight and got the 3 tacos- carnitas, al pastor & carne asada, with all the fixings. Holy vaca! The meat looked great, it was served up super fast and I couldn't wait, so I wolfed them down in the car, right there in the parking lot! And there was a steady trickle of people coming in while I sat there. I'm going back tomorrow to try the barbacoa and the pollo. Price was great, service was A+. If you're traveling down the 101, hop off the fwy at 24th street and get some tacos!! They also do burritos. Might need to get one of those tomorrow for the road... delish!! read more

They no longer allow u to split extra meat (even tho I am paying for it). Guacamole on the side (small container) used to be the price of guacamole on an item. Extremely disappointed but not surprised after reading some other reviews on here. So I called in my order, and picked it up to find it incorrect when I got home. They had added additional salsa and peppers and lettuce that I didn't put in my order, as well as left out the sour cream and the green salsa. Honesty mistake. It happens. I called in and let them know I would bring the food back and could it be corrected. The Manager, Maria, took the phone call and went over the order she had for me. When she realized that there were other items not on my order in my burrito she told me she would not fix it because I didn't specifically ask for her to leave out peppers and extra salsa and lettuce (nevermind leaving out what I did order, lol). I asked well why did you put it in when I didn't ask for it?! She stated she puts in whatever she "thinks I want" if I don't specifically say not to put it in. I was kind of blown away by this logic and it seemed she was just covering her steps on messing up the order. I asked Maria, the manager, if I have to specifically state each item on the menu that I did not want in my burrito, despite just saying what I specifically wanted. She said yes, and hung up on me. I get messing up food and having a bad day, but the attitude of the manager, and the hanging up just makes me feel that in Paso, with all the restaurants around, you just don't treat people like that. I'm a business owner in downtown Paso, and i have 20 employees and I would be horrified if any of them treated a customer the way Tortilla Town treated me. I ordered a salad from this place and they didn't even add the dressing. The lady put a ton of onions and that's what dressed the salad, the oil from the fajita mix! The sour cream is watery and the guac looks like baby food. I'm really disappointed with my order especially as it was $10+. Based solely on the Yelp reviews, we tried Tortilla Town Saturday night (8-29-15). After checking out their limited and basic menu, we opted for their three tacos. One Carne Asada, one Barbacoa and the last was Chicken. After cutting each taco in halves, I sampled all three tacos with both their green and red sauces. I wasn't impressed with two of my three tacos for one reason or another (lack of flavor, seasonings or texture) but, their Barbacoa meat was definitively one for the books. Packed full of flavors and moisture, this meat and its heartiness you can normally only from being "home made" cooked. It's text euro was kinda like a really thick beef stew in a thick gravy. Welp this is my always go to taco and bowl place. Today we had a vegetarian bowl for my daughter which consisted of rice, black beans, grilled veggies, pico de gallo, salsa and a little sour creme. My three tacos were all different, which they are happy to do. Chicken, barbaccoa, and steak. Hard shells. The shells are my fav part. Fresh fried and a little on the thicker side. The red salsa is pretty hot but ya gotta have it. Food is always consistent and tasty and the customer service very friendly. Counter order and a few tables inside and outside as well. Some call it small, I call it homie. It's like a version of Chipotle style ordering etc. but I love the home feel and the food better. read more

3 stars. Never been here before until tonight. We read the YELP reviews first and decided to try this place. We are out of towners and serious Mexican food fanatics. This place is an assembly line style (Subway, Chipotle, Cafe Rio) system. I don't like the assembly line style. I don't like when my food is handled by multiple people and plus my food gets cold while I wait, wait, wait to pay for it before I get to eat it. Bad system. I want to eat first than pay. They do have some decent tasting Mexican food here though. Chicken burrito with pinto beans and rice was tasty however.... I don't like white cilantro rice with Mexican food. If I wanted white rice, I'd go to Panda Express! Mexican food rice should be authentic Spanish style red rice cooked with tomato sauce (as in traditional Mexican style rice). Don't give me flavorless white rice with some cilantro in it and pretend it's mexican rice. What lame chef thought that was a good recipe for Mexican rice. It's not. No bueno! Tortilla Town is Tiny Town. This place is super small and my biggest complaint here is the seating arrangement. Maybe only four tables and all of them blocked by people waiting in line to order food. Makes it very uncomfortable/claustrophobic to want to sit down and eat in here. It is a terrible layout! Because the tables are all blocked by people standing in line to order and it was too cold to eat outside, we had no choice but to bring our food back to the hotel to eat it and our food was cold by than. 1-19 I have looked at the website for the menu as my mom and dad were coming back from So Cal and they wanted some burritos. They picked up the food and they got their burritos and I got the tacos. OKKK I AM IMPRESSED! I was looking for taco catering for my parent's anniversary party. A friend recommended Tortilla Town as an affordable option as opposed to some of the overpriced independent caterers. Best move ever!!! I got the Fiesta Feast #3 which was supposed to feed 18-20, but wow...it's been 4 days and about 30 guests later and we are STILL trying to get through all this food! I ordered half asada and half chicken (no extra charge, amazing!) and both pinto and black beans. It came with all the fixins - limes, cilantro, chopped onion, rice, all the different varieties of salsa, tortillas, huge bags of chips, and I added guac! I personally prefer traditional red Mexican rice, and theirs is white rice with cilantro bits. Otherwise, A++ move and would highly recommend this for any large party. I picked it up and they had a CART available to help me move it all to my car. Just an all around amazing experience at an unbeatable price! Ok for what it is it is great. I had the carnitas burrito and it was fantastic . Ate it all even though was stuffed it was that good. It is like a chipotle but way better. This place is conveniently located right off the freeway in Paso Robles... prefect location. We took a pit stop to use the bathroom and of course... now we were hungry looking at the restaurants all stacked next to each other from the Starbucks. The restaurant was chipotle/subway style with lots of authenticity in their food! You can choose between tacos (soft/crunchy), burritos, burrito bowl and gorditas. Behind the counter, workers are grilling meats and making tortillas from scratch. They have various meats and are vegetarian friendly with rice, beans, and grilled onions/peppers. The salsas are spicccyyyyy good! They've also got lime and grilled bell peppers ready for your meal. This place really surprised me. The gorditas were crunchy, fresh, and filling! The meal comes with either 3 tacos/gorditas. They allowed me to order 1 taco and 2 gorditas for the same price, $8.99. After I had my first gordita, I regretted getting a taco. Lol. My review is STRICTLY based on how they run their online delivery orders. I LOVE their food, it is delicious! It's Friday night and my husband and I had some drinks then when dinner approached neither felt comfortable to drive so we decided to get our food delivered for the first time. Delivery through Grub Hub was excellent but the food I ordered was completely wrong. My husband is real basic when it comes to food and they added all the things he dislikes in his El Jefe even though I specifically requested what he wanted. For the cost, this is very upsetting. They didn't add guacamole to my El Jefe as I requested and didn't put lettuce when it says it comes with it, smh. And they had a Chipotle style where they make the food in front of you which is awesome. Speeds up the process. My girl and I got one of each meats, al pastor, carnitas, & barbacoa. Found this place through their Yelp page and decided to try them out after a fun day at Pismo Dunes. Not too crowded when we went and service was fast and friendly. You get to pick what taco (hard or soft), and the different variety of meats and amount (I chose three meats cause I'm a carnivore haha). Think Subway but for Tacos :) * Anyway, we sat down at their tables (not many tables as it is a small restaurant). They have fountain drink machines and water that you serve yourself. The tortilla chips and salsa's are not included with your order (so if you want those you have to pay extra). My first bit into their taco was crunchy, juicy meat, and very hot salsa... * Be warned that the red salsa is extremely hot.. when I say extremely I'm talking about the fiery, burning, stinging feeling you get when you eat something really spicy.. Not cool.... my only negative is I wished that the employee behind the counter could've told (more warned) us of how spicy the salsa would be. Had we known how hot and spicy the salsa was, we would've left it off our tacos. Shame on the employees for not telling us. I literally had to go to Starbucks next door and get some milk to neutralize the burning sensation in my mouth. The water and ice were not helping. My friend didn't even get to finish his food due to the extremely hot sauce they put on. What a waste. * Luckily the food didn't give us any digestion problems from consuming the overly spicy salsa. This place looks like a fast food place from the outside. I was pleasantly surprised to see a legit trompo behind the counter. The pastor was fresh and delicious. The gorditas were Mexico City street food style and quite good. The red salsa was quite spicy. The burritos looked like your normal chipotle style monsters. I'll definitely eat here again. read more
