Came here last weekend and didn't regret it! I came here once before and got the fiery chicken rigatoni which was amazing and spicy! They have a huge menu and spotlight a different city every week with food and drink specials - this time it was Venice, so I wanted to try something new. They had a lasagna that was calling my name and I didn't regret it. The lasagna was a decent size and I finished the entire thing because I was so hungry and I was stuffed by the end. My friend and I also split an appetizer, Buffalo caprese which was so flavorful! I also hand 2 glasses of red wine - I don't usually like red wine but these were good. One was a Lambrusco and I can't remember the other one, but it was one of the ones near the top which wasn't bitter. For dessert, we went with our waiter's recommendation - unfortunately I can't remember the name but there were blueberries at the top and the second layer tasted like custard or flan. This was my 2nd visit to the location in Trevose . I was excited to have the ricotta cheese cake as per my prior review was the best part of my 1st visit. My family had a post funeral luncheon at Toscana 52 recently and when my sister was presented with the check, they tacked on a 3% charge for paying with a Credit Card. There was no mention of this when we booked the luncheon. Only when we were presented the check afterward. If we had known ahead of time, we could have made other arrangements. This extraneous charge is not mentioned anywhere on their website or on their menus. I checked diligently. To take advantage of a grieving family this way is despicable. This restaurant is where my husband and I had our first date, we decided to relive the special day on our 3 year anniversary, but unfortunately it was not the same. The staff was absolutely lovely, everyone very nice and very helpful. However the food was not its best. We have been there on several occasions and this last time was most likely the only time the food was not pleasant. My husband took maybe 3 bites of his plate and left it there because it was far too spicy. Both entrees were flaming hot, so we had to wait some time to be able to actually eat it. And my pasta honestly just tasted like it had been reheated, not fresh. I don't know if this was because the restaurant was near closing time (it was about 8:30 pm when we arrived), and they wanted to rush things, I don't know. My family and I went out to dinner at Toscana 52,a place we have had many dinners at. we went there to celebrate my daughter's 18th birthday. We were seated and then ordered and received drinks. At the table next to us, a mom, dad, and two teen boys were seated. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw the dad playfully hit the one son's hand that was holding a drink. The hand hit the drink and the glass drink fell to the ground. It shattered into little pieces. One of those shards hit the ground then popped back up and hit me 1inch above my left eye. Blood started to poor as it was a good slice. I said,"OMG something hit me!" I asked my family how it looked, how bad was it. The waiter came over and asked, "Are you ok?" He told me that he would get me ice and a napkin, which he did bring over. For about 10 minutes, I sat there shaken up and in disbelief. I was trying to hang in there because it was my daughter's birthday dinner. I wasn't angry at this point because no one intended for me to get hurt. It was a bad choice that resulted in someone getting hurt. The manager came over and asked if I was ok and I replied I'm ok to which he replied," I can hardly see it," which was minimalizing the situation and was untrue. The other family never even apologized. This made me very sad so even after we ordered our entrees and before the food came out, I told my husband that I'd like to leave. I was crying. We told the waiter that we'd like our food to go. Never did the manager come back over to apologize or even offer to comp a portion of the meal. This incident was not the fault of the restaurant and the waiter was kind to me after it happened. However, the manager playing it down was disappointing. My family's dinner was horrible and now I have a small scar. It would have been a nice gesture and great customer service and the right thing to do to comp some of the meal. My family was looking forward to the time, and unfortunately we paid over $200, left sad, me injured, and ate cold food at home. Toscana's would have made our night better if they said, "Here's a voucher for x come back another night, even a dessert. So sorry you didn't have a great time and don't enjoy your meal!" read more

I brought my baby that was a few months old and needed to change him. Not sure if I was not seeing it but there was no changing table. Decided to go on a Friday night date to celebrate my fiancé's promotion at work. Parking is a bit of a hassle since the outdoor dining tents take up much of the lot (and it couldn't be used on this cold rainy evening anyway). There's plenty of parking in the back though. Fortunately, there was no wait for a party of two-- since they wouldn't let us make a reservation for a party this small anyway when I'd tried to call ahead. The first thing the hostess said to us when we walked in was, "there's an hour limit on dining here, just to let you know." Seriously? That's how you greet your guests? We were so put off by this that we nearby walked out. We're a party of two-- we're only going to take as long to dine as it takes the serving staff to bring our food! Aside from feeling as though there was a timer ticking throughout our celebratory evening, my only other major complaint was portion sizing. Fortunately, our waiter was very pleasant. It took him a little while to get to us at first (all the while we thought, well our time is ticking!) but he was entertaining and tried to be funny and brought our beers relatively quickly. Our bruschette came shortly after, and it was delicious but it only came with two breads. A bit of a small portion, so I suppose if you're double dating or going as a family then you'd have to order multiple. For our entree, I convinced myself to go with the gnocchi with tomato and basil sauce. Now I'm a bit of a tomato sauce snob, but theirs was very good! Very tasty! However, there was only enough gnocchi to barely cover the bottom of a small plate. I'd wanted to order regular pasta assuming the portion would be more generous-- but I figured for the price of the gnocchi, the portion size wouldn't be bad. I was disappointed with how hungry I still was after eating the little bit of gnocchi that I was served. Meanwhile, my fiancé ordered the chicken Parmesan and somehow was brought the largest helping of chicken I'd ever seen. I was so hungry after eating that I'd thought about getting dessert-- but then I thought, well I wouldn't want to go over the time limit! Hello, Today we had an event at Toscana, we planned to have it here because we simply love the food. However our experience was far from good. We were promised the sun room as long as it "wasn't booked" by another party. (Regardless of the amount of people) the manager at the time of our walk through told us to put it In for 30 people and then call the day before with the headcount. He knew I had my heart set on this room and wanted my family to be seated at a long table. Well, the day before comes and they tell me that we do not get this room unless we pay the difference of 30 people Also, this room was not booked by another party, no one was even using the room except for one table. Then, we arrive on time and are put in the back of a room with tables set up at random, completely off from what I asked for! No one knew where to sit is was such a mess. I was beyond angry at this point because I had seating arrangements and We wanted to be seated all together, not scattered. We waited 30 minutes just for water! About 20 minutes for drinks, if not more. 45 minutes for our appetizers! This is absolutely ridiculous and I will never have another event here. Oh not to mention the kids burgers that were practically raw and needed to be sent back. I'm very disappointed to say the least. read more

Toscana 52 NEVER disappoints. This is and will always be one of my favorite Italian restaurants. First of all, when you walk in, it's super dreamy and romantic. The lights are dimmed and the decorations are so inviting and make you want to stay longer (at least I wanted to stay and admire all the pretty stuff). I was celebrating my anniversary so I made a reservation a few days prior. I didn't mention it was a special occasion so I didn't expect them to bring out a free dessert or anything. I honestly just wanted to eat here because I love it so much. Our waitress greeted us promptly after we were seated and was very attentive from start to finish. She was great. To start, we ordered the buffalo caprese appetizer. It's not pictured in my review because I forgot to snap a photo, but it was really good. It had the perfect combinations of flavor and was not too overpowering. I ordered a blueberry sangria. It was definitely... different. It tasted like one of those fishbowl drinks. Not sure if that was the intention but I should've just stuck with regular red sangria. For my meal, I ordered my usual -- champagne pear sacchetti. Ugh... so decadent and purely delicious. I wish I could whip it up at home because I'd eat it everyday. It tastes like sweet and salty pasta with a hint of cinnamon. Sounds strange but I can't get enough of it! My boyfriend ordered the Filet Sinatra with a side of mashed potatoes and asparagus. He said it was delicious. The steak is topped with jumbo lump crab meat. Our waitress asked us if we wanted a side soup or salad with our meals. Unfortunately, Minestrone isn't a soup that they offer so I asked for a house salad. The waitress didn't tell me that the house salad was a "Tuscan wedge" so I was little bit turned off about it not being cut up. It was still tasty though. My boyfriend got a traditional Caesar salad. Can't go wrong! For dessert, they bring out a full tray of options and you can choose which one you want. My boyfriend chose mille feuille and it's basically a puff pastry filled with vanilla cream topped with powdered sugar and raspberries and drizzled with caramel. The presentation of it was so nice. We washed it down with two espressos. As I stated in the beginning, I always look forward to eating at Toscana. This was my 6th or 7th time here and I've never had a bad experience. A handful of Italian-Americans inspired by such wonders like Olive Garden and HGTV unanimously decided that Tuscany was the epitome of an idyllic place, where olive oil flows freely and stone tiles adorn every kitchen surface possible. Within 2-3 years, a Tuscan interior design trend swept HGTV and then American suburbia. Enter Toscana 52. Imagine an Olive Garden bought one of those weekly meal planners and secured a Costco bulk discount on string lights and outdoor fountains. Imagine they hired one of those 2000s era Ty Pennington designers and said "your budget is unlimited, but it must look Tuscan". Imagine they dropped this design gem right into the middle of a suburban capitalist wasteland of car dealerships, congested roadways, and political signs as the preferred lawn, window, and vehicle decor. If that's your preferred ambiance, you'll love it here. For some reason this place always smells like mildew. They probably need to refresh the rags their staff use to wipe down tables. The Walnut and Pear Sacchetti is very good, but the portion size is surprisingly small so you might want to order two if you get this dish. Other than that, it's basically an Olive Garden on steroids: privately owned and operated, sans the unlimited breadsticks, with a menu that rotates more frequently, and with a slightly fancier lobby. Give it a shot if you get a gift card. It's not bad, per se, but don't expect an authentic Italian experience. Expect the Italian-American idea of an authentic Italian experience, and you won't be let down. read more

Randomly came in for dinner last night, got seated at a nice quiet table very close to a man dining alone. He was absolutely shitfaced and had enormous glob of butter on his chin. Kept getting up to wander. My boyfriend pointed out the dude was eating with motorcycle gloves on, I was mildly concerned he had driven a motorcycle to the restaurant. He kept stopping waitstaff and other patrons to talk about all the restaurants he's in business with. At one point he straight up vanished and we got to watch a staff member plop his food down on an empty table and just sigh and shrug. 20 mins later my dude was still not back, I assume this pasta was ice cold by now. The waitstaff gathered near his empty table and were like "yeah I don't know, I think he went to smoke? He left all his stuff here." I was wondering if he just straight up jetted, but after we paid and made our way to the exit we found him near the hostess station talking some poor couple's ear off. Still had the glob of butter on his chin, but now it was smeared. As we exited the building we saw a bicycle parked near the front door that we can only imagine was his. My family loves coming to place to eat whenever we are in town. The food is consistent, well portioned, and fresh. The most notable of the dishes we ordered were the seafood pasta and the chicken wings. The chicken wings were well coasted with a sweet sticky sauce and also crunchy. This place came up in a search for Italian food. Overall we were happy to have come here. 1) Place was clean and welcoming. We were seated fairly quickly. 2) Waitress was friendly and very attentive. She explained all the dishes we asked about and seemed very knowledgeable about the items they had available. 3) Food was delicious. Everything we ordered came out just right and tasted good. Appetizer was good over all. The octopus tasted a bit blend. Shrimp was delicious and had a nice Mexican Ceviche cocktail taste. Oysters were okay. Crap was good.
