Shrimp tempura bowl with tuna roll
    Erlyne S.

Ordered the 6-piece tuna roll and the large rice tempura bowl, which came with miso soup and salad. The tuna roll was fresh with the perfect ratio of rice to fish. It was simple but really high quality. The tempura bowl had juicy shrimp and crisp veggie tempura, with just the right amount of sauce. Generous portion too and definitely shareable. The spot itself is quiet and unassuming, almost like a small Tokyo eatery run by a kind elderly couple. Service was warm and attentive, and everything tasted top-notch. Would absolutely come back!

A lowkey homey Japanese spot serving authentic Japanese dishes. Their seafood was super fresh. All our rolls were delicious and packed with tasty seafood. I think their flavors were 10/10 and prices were great too. Four rolls were enough for two people. We got the Shrimp & Radish Sprouts, Tuna, Spicy Tuna, and Unakyu. We shared a Shio Hokke which was a perfectly grilled Atka Mackerel as an appetizer and it's soo succulent. Service was also attentive and sweet. Will definitely be back for more.

If you want authentic Japanese food and really good sushi, this is the place. The mini mall it is in is unassuming but when you step in, you feel like you're in a small restaurant in Japan. The staff are all Japanese and service is always great! If you get anything here, make sure to get a spicy tuna handroll as well. I could probably eat 10 of them, not kidding. The curry is also very good here!

Fresh and delicious. Family restaurant. Good service. Quiet. Get there before 11:30am.

Curry beef. 3 pieces of beef. Laughable really. $18.00 dollars.

Not sure why this place has such high reviews. I ordered the beef curry - this is what I got. It is untouched. 3 cubes of fatty beef about an inch square (and that's generous) and plain rice. Very unappetizing. I asked about it - that's how it is. Laughable. Will not return.

This is a cute mom and pop spot. The service was very fast and attentive. Everything we had was tasty and fresh, especially the salmon. The spider roller was also fried perfectly. The only roll that wasn't great was the tomago, it just tasted like a hard boiled egg.

Everything here tastes amazing! The sushi pieces are big and packed with fresh fish, with just the right amount of rice, definitely not overloaded. The croquettes were a standout too, super crispy on the outside and filled with smooth mashed potato patty inside. I also tried the morisoba and the gyu don, both were full of flavor and absolutely hit the spot. The don, in particular, was rich and satisfying. Service was prompt and really friendly, and the cozy, welcoming atmosphere made the experience even better. It feels like a truly authentic Japanese sushi spot. One of my new favorite places, I'm already looking forward to coming back and trying more from the menu!

Oh my goodness! This restaurant has literally been on my doorstep for 20 years and I never went until today. Absolutely fresh delicious fish and an ambience very similar to the tiny restaurants I visited in Tokyo. and who could beat fresh fish from Tokyo's Toyosu market! This is a secret spot that only those in the know or in the neighborhood know about. I could not possibly begin to list all the good things on the menu but the sushi we ate and mussels were incredibly tasty. Meals come with miso soup and salad and the portions are perfect. As we left, we planned many more outings here to work our way through the menu. So good! Service was friendly and attentive.

It's been years since I have been to this local favorite. Same hole in wall Japanese authentic small restaurant in a nondescript strip mall. The food is great, the service is average "family" help, acceptable. Will keep coming back for the food and small family feel and service, LOL

Toshi has been an OG. My family and I have been going here for years and it's always been consistent quality and service! Definitely worth a try if you're in the area!

Nice little place in a strip mall with about 8 tables for 4 and done counter seats. Service was pretty quick and friendly. I had the Hamachi Kama (collarbone) and husband had the Toshi Gozen (house combo). Food was good quality, although my Kama was a little overcooked. I really liked the dressing on their salad. Not sure what was in it, but looked like some grated carrot?

Toshi's is a tiny and unassuming restaurant in the strip mall near me and I've heard nothing but great reviews. It is Japanese owned and operated so I had high expectations. I had their take-out once a while ago but I honestly don't remember how the food was, so I was eager to try it again. They have quite an extensive menu, ranging from ramen to sushi to even Japanese-Chinese food (called Chuuka), which is a rare find. I ordered the Lunch Sushi Combination which comes with salad and miso soup. The salad was delicious. I love the carrot dressing they used, it seems homemade. The miso soup was good too, but I really enjoyed the sushi. All of the fish was fresh and the rice was well seasoned. I appreciate that they gave different nigiri besides salmon, since it's so common among sushi places here. It definitely added authenticity to their sushi craft. I would love to come back and try their other items!

    Excellent people!!

Hard working people making the masses happy!! Always the best experience. I've never had a bad experience here in many years of patronage!!

There were large groups of people lining outside but we put our name down on the iPad and got seated within 10 ish mins! Scoreee. This is your sign to be patient cause this Izakaya is so worth the wait! Price point for quality was chefs kiss. You don't really get fresh sushi like this anywhere with reasonable prices! Im taking 5 PCs of otoro sashimi for $25?! Speechless! We outdid ourselves and ordered like 3 rounds of sushi for the three of us and bill came out to $200 ish with drinks! Really easy to do since they had such an extensive menu with just about everything from appetizers, tapas sashimi, hand rolls, nigiri, fried items, sushi ROLLS, ramen/noodles, and skewers! Highlights were definitely the: -otoro (5 pcs ~$25) -salmon medley (salmon belly and 3 other cuts) -scallop nigiri -karaage (5 pcs for $8.99) *pro tip to add their house negi sauce $1 or spicy mayo $0.50 -agedashi tofu (fried tofu) -wagyu beef skewer $8.50 -citrus YTG roll ($15) so refreshing with hamachi (yellowtail), tempura flakes, and a house jalapeño ponzu sauce ! (Apologies for the lack of photos lol. We got too excited since the food kept coming out soo quick we couldn't keep up lol) We also ordered the uni and volcano roll! I might try for the Alaskan roll next time considering it was hard to identify the scallops in the baked roll but still kinda tasty if you're into the warm baked rolls! I was unfortunately really wanting to taste the scallops! Overall we had a great time! Service was nice and attentive! The drinks were really affordable and generous too! My brother in law ordered a chu hi and it came in this huge mug for $14 with an option of refill for ~$7! Such a deal! Arigatou, Hachi!

The only issue we had is the sake flight sampler my husband ordered had to be substituted and instead of the $15 glass option they substituted a $12 glass option (nothing was mentioned in advance) and the okonomiyaki they are promoting is not available (bummer we were really hoping to have that). All that is to say, first world "problems" and nothing was really a problem per se. We also had 5 pc gyoza appetizer and requested steamed instead of fried which they were happy to accommodate. We start off with hot green teas & it's so authentic + rich in flavor. It comes in a nice tea pot and remains hot throughout our meal. We move on to get their gyoza & cucumber salad. Their gyoza is always crispy. The cucumber salad is simple but always delicious. We move onto our rolls - he likes the orange snow and I prefer the dragon rolls. They are portioned well. The flavors within the rolls complement each other well and I love the drizzle of unagi sauce. Our most recent visit, we ordered the poke salad. The Tuna was fresh and tasted great. We weren't huge fans of the seaweed salad. We've tried other rolls and have not been disappointed with any. Our family members also enjoy this place when we visit. The service is always quick and we are usually in and out within an hour. Definitely recommend this spot.
