Me and the missus stopped by here for a quick lunch. While mostnother spots were closed,post lunch service, this place was open all day, with no breaks in service. They have a good mix of raw and cooked shushi items. I currently am on a strict diet and cannot enjoy the full range of raw fish that I crave. So this is a great spot for those who cannot (or those who do not care for) indulging in raw fish. I was a bit disappointed to learn there were no bento options (old menu online/Google). But there were still a wide selection of poké bowls and such. My wife ordered a karaage bowl + Ninja roll. I ordered a California roll and Tempura Salmon roll. Before coming here, I don't recall the last time I could actually taste the krab in a California roll. With the names of the sushi rolls, I thought we'd walk in and be served by some clueless kids. The sushi rolls' names were pop culture references as far back as the 1960s (Hotel California roll). Instead, we were welcomed by an older woman who kindly took our orders and started preparing them right away. Her husband joined her a few minutes later. It's very clean in there, though a bit warm. If they have AC, it was on low and only those behind the counter were truly benefitting from it. I was on the brink of breaking a sweat. I didn't however - it was cool enough in the dining space. The place was completely empty when we were there. We guessed it was because we showed up after the lunch rush. The sushi is pretty good here. I'll still be back to try their other items, but when I'm back to indulging in raw fish again, I'll be sure to see what their poké bowls are like. True score overall was 4.5 (I rounded up). The rice-to-filling ratio needs work. A bit too much rice on some of the pieces. But it all tasted great anyway. read more

Super cute store with really friendly owners! I love the cute mural and all the fun decorations in the restaurant. I ordered a vegetarian sushi roll and thought that the seaweed overwhelmed the taste of the other ingredients, but it was still a good meal. My friend ordered ramen with extra noodles, and they gave a huge portion, easily enough for 2-3 meals total. Their prices are fair, and the food came out quickly. read more

I got a build your own poke with salmon and ponzu sauce. I like all of the toppings they have, some are different than what I've seen at other places, particularly mango, avocado (at no added cost), and the fried salmon skin. The reason I took off 1 star is that the salmon wasn't great, it was a little on the smooshy side, not firm and silky. Also, the ponzu sauce was undectectable--I had to add my own sauce at home--this was true for 2 separate bowls, so I don't think they forgot to add it. I suspect it got absorbed into the rice. It might help if they mixed the fish in it first--I'm not sure how they prepare it, since they don't do it in front of you. I would still return though, it's a good amount of food. Take-out poke bowls: I like that they include a lot of premium toppings and mix-ins to choose from here that you usually have to pay extra for at other places like avocado, mango, tobiko, and salmon skin. The sesame sauce was more mayo-based, which I wouldn't usually prefer, but I couldn't even detect the (presumed) more watery ponzu. The salmon was not bad and not mushy, but I prefer it a little more fatty and a more "bite" to the texture. Overall, the quality of ingredients was good, and the bowl was filling. read more

I've gotten food delivered before and it was fantastic but today was the first time I went in to the restaurant. Inside the decorations were so cute and there's a few tables for bigger groups, the menu is big so there's lots to order and pick out. The rolls are so delicious and the flavors are amazing. I can't wait to come back and try more things on the menu. The employee were very nice and they are very efficient and make your food quickly but without cutting any corners, they take the utmost care when preparing the rolls. read more

This place is a lovely little casual sushi joint! I've stopped here for lunch and dinner a few times and always had a great experience. You order at the counter so it's definitely on the casual side but the sushi is well worth the value!! The service is also great and very friendly- last time they threw in some extra apps since we were there near closing. The sushi tastes fresh and delicious. The only thing I didn't love was the calamari- a bit rubbery. But I wouldn't really expect this place to be the place to get calamari. Everything else has been wonderful! Service was amazing, I was greeted right as I entered. A kind young girl took my order and helped me choose something from the menu. The restaurant is rather small, more of a casual joint and everything was clean. You pick up your own food at the counter. There was jazz music playing. Food was super good, I ordered the Dragon roll and Takoyaki. They put just enough sauce for me to taste the rest of the roll. Price was reasonable, spent about 25 dollars on my meal. The ramen - The flavor of the broth was deep and salty, with springy noodles, absorbent mushrooms and flavorful pork. Eating this on a cold water day really warmed my soul! The nigiri and tempura sushi roll - Super fresh fish, with rice that is perfectly seasoned. I really liked the sushi roll as it looked pretty, tastes delicious and was at an affordable price. The mochi ice cream - Can't go wrong with mochi ice cream. Simple and delicious, we got the matcha flavor. After years of trying to get QFC poke bowls that went downhill in quality/quantity, and uphill in price we were excited to try this place once it (finally) opened. The poke bowls are quite large, though I prefer the "make my own" version. I find the mango sauce far too sweet. The first time we came we had a poke bowl and some sushi. Both were good, but though we were eating inside, it took longer than expected (probably due to takeout orders). There are some tables inside to sit, but it looks like takeout is encouraged. We found this place hidden off of Barnes road and came by and triesthem out. Wow, the sushi was fresh and so delicious. The portion sizes are amazing and the toppings they put on top is over the roof. They're too cheap to put out water for customers. I was practically choking to death on their cheap wasabi, from condiment packets, as my throat went into a spasm and she looked at me with that blank look on her face and said; "I'll sell you a bottle". So I had to pull out a credit card while choking because she was incapable of reading the danger in the situation. Horrible customer service, loved this place the first time we tried it. Loved it so much we wanted to pick up a gift certificate for friends. I called in to confirm they sold them first. The older gentleman who answered the phone was hesitant but asked someone else on shift and confirmed they could do one. Came in the next day to get it and was laughed at by the two young kids working as they both said we don't sell gift certificates and told me I called the other location. I did not call the other location! This location is literally less than 5 minutes from my house, I am well aware of the other location that is on the opposite side of town and no where near me it is not the location I called! We haven't been back since and won't be. Good luck with customer service like that.
