I've been a fan of Toss & Fire Wood-Fired Pizza for a long time. Visiting them at food truck rodeos, festivals and the NY State Fair. I've always have had a consistently well prepared and delicious pizza. They have two brick and mortar locations. The North Syracuse location is the original. They opened their second location at Township 5 in Camillus back in the fall of 2020. This review is of their Camillus location. I have been to this location numerous times and always order three wood fired pies on each visit. The wood fired pizzas come in 10 inch and 12 inch pies. For this visit the three wood fired pies all had a nice crisp crust. The Margherita had fresh mozzarella and the perfect flavor balance of basil and garlic. Tessa's Veggie had fresh vegetables such as tomato, broccoli and pecorino. You didn't miss a veggie in every slice. We also wanted to try a "novelty" type of wood fired pizza. We went with one that Toss & Fire created for the NY State Fair, the Bit of a Pickle. Garlic, Applewood bacon, Mozzarella, Cheddar, dill pickles and a ranch drizzle. Don't sell this pie short. All the flavors worked well together. I learned not to term some foods a "novelty" until I try it! Instead I will change the term to unique. They still have a couple more "unique" pies that I have not tried yet! The chicken wings were ordered extra crispy with hot Buffalo sauce. An order comes with ten wings. They were nice sized wings and glad I ordered them extra crispy because when I got home they seemed like they had a normal crisp to them. Will not knock that since it was takeout and I'm sure if I ate at the restaurant they would of been as ordered. The staff are always welcoming and able to answer any questions you may have while placing your order. Once you order they give you a vibrating beeper to let you know when your order is ready. If it's longer than 20 minutes I like to walk around Township 5 checking out the other shops. You can also order online from their website. Toss & Fire also has normal NY style pizza oven pies along with Detroit style pizza. Looking forward to trying their Detroit styles pizza in the future. read more

Before movie with friends we decided on Toss N Fire. I'm not a huge pizza eater but I do love wings. I had the Buffacue wings crispy and an order of garlic Parmesan chips which were huge and amazing and the wings were perfect and tasty. My friends shared a couple pizzas and loved them as well. The customer service was outstanding and Christina took the time to touch all of the tables in the dining room as well as deliver the food and help with order taking making our experience enjoyable. We will definitely return before movie again. read more

Great local pizza spot. Large menu with lots of options to fit everyone's taste for pizza. They have specials that are always good. You can dine in or take out. If you dine in they offer a good selection of beers and wine. Whenever I go I always get a salad to go with my pizza. The salad is a great size and value. I usually order something different every time I go and have yet to find a pizza that I didn't like. They have multiple sizes of pizza that you can get. read more

I tried toss and fire for lunch, it's conveniently located in the plaza where I work and I'd been tempted by seeing other people carrying giant slices of pizza back to eat in the break room. They sell pizza by the slice during lunch hours, and the slices are huge, delicious, and filling. It has a nice atmosphere inside and the service was quick and workers were friendly. Another time I had a Stromboli which was made fresh and was also giant and delicious. One of the best pizza places I've tried in the area! read more

I've eaten here at least half a dozen times with different groups of people and it's fantastic every time. The dill pickle and salt potato pizzas are a must-try, and the garlic knots are amaaaazing. Don't snooze on them. I think my favorite part is that the pizza is still good day 2, which is not always the case. I usually do takeout, but they have beer and fun sodas and it would be a great spot for a quick family dinner or a (very) casual date. A good friend is gluten intolerant and adores their cauliflower crust. I haven't tried it (because I'm lucky enough to be able to enjoy gluten), but she's a true connoisseur, so it's a powerful endorsement. Whatcha waiting for? Go get pizza! read more

Being from the New Haven, CT area, the standards are very high for quality pizza, the pizza we had at Toss & Fire, far exceeded our expectations. The Pepe, Buffalo Chicken pizza's were great but the star of the show was the Margarita pizza, quite possibly the best pizza I've ever had. The garlic knots and Caesar salad were also excellent. So glad we were able to experience Toss & Fire. read more

We've had take out from here twice over the past few weeks and both times were excellent. Online ordering was a breeze. Pick up on one Friday evening was a bit chaotic. I felt a little awkward because I didn't know where to stand between those ordering and those waiting for their order, slightly disorganized. Service was pretty quick. It was nice to see folks eating in, everyone looked like they were enjoying their food. The space is clean and decent size. We tried the margherita and the danio pizzas. Both were excellent, although I prefer the margherita. The pizzas were perfectly cooked, the dough has a slight tang and topping ingredients were superior. The cheeky monkey wings were amazing. Definitely recommend T&F, a great addition to the pizza scene in the western Syracuse area and they give you perhaps a more sophisticated pizza experience than your typical pizza joint. read more

We grabbed 3 pizzas from this place on a Tuesday night...all 3 were excellent...2 were deep dish pies and one was their wood fired pizza...toppings were fresh and the pizza sauce was loaded with flavor. We did try an appetizer of Utica Greens and they were also very good...a little spicier than I expected but still very good. If you are after a pizza with a different twist, check this place...support locally owned business like this, you won't be disappointed...we will be back soon! read more

The pizza here is the best we have EVER had. Our son attends college there and we visited him for his bday. We went to have pizza there one night and little did we know....it was gonna be the BEST pizza we have ever had. The pizzas were fresh and absolutely amazing. This is my second review of toss and fire in camillus. The manager was very nice and offered to change my mind about my first experience. This time the pizza wasn't burnt. It was definitely cooked to perfection!(pic below) No grease on the bottom of the pizza either. However the pizza was missing cheese! It had more sauce than cheese. And the overall appearance wasn't good. It was missing crust on one slice and had a huge crust on another slice. (Picture below) Overall, as my initial review stated, for that price, It really leaves you wanting more for your money. I added 2 stars to my initial review for excellent costumer service and for correcting the cook on the pizza. read more
