Sacramento has some cool spots and Fizz is one of them. if you appreciate good sparkling wine and a thoughtful bar program this is a must visit when you're in the area.

We arrived around 5:30 PM on a Saturday. The joint was nearly empty aside from a couple at the bar. Plenty of seating for our large group in the large, comfy couches. They also have cool built-in seating around the perimeter of the bar, though not nearly as comfortable as the vintage furniture. The menu is sorted by glass type. A fun and unique way to sort cocktails. They also have a selection of beer on draft and wine. The drinks can also be made into mocktails- a win for our group since we had a few non-drinkers. The 1859 mocktail was great. Perfectly sweet with a small hit of miso flavor from the miso honey. Probably even better and more balanced with the whiskey! Others in my group enjoyed working their way through the many light, dark, and sour beers on tap. 1864 offers a classic, relaxed atmosphere and a great place to get a cocktail. The prices are reasonable, too. Definitely worth the visit.

Drinks 4/5 Service 5/5…read moreAmbiance 5/5 This is such a great little gem in a gem of a hotel. On the 7th floor, this cozy speakeasy is a lot of fun. We walked in late at around 11 pm. Two other couples were at the bar having a great time with the amazing bartender. The bartender worked and talked like she actually enjoyed her job. That's hard to find these days. Also, when the hours say until close, I believe the bartender was ready to work until we were done. We didn't feel forced to finish up at all. The drink menus are massive and I mean massive. My first drink was a "New Rum Fashioned" which was a 3/5 for me. A little too sweet and muddled. My second drink was a 5/5. I can't remember the exact name but it was a mix between a Bloody Mary and a margarita. I can wait to go back again and try some more of the wild drinks.

I showed up solo and immediately called in some of the guys working alongside me at Hot August Nights . First off the bar is amazing , from great AC to that old school Sinatra vibe Very comfortable seating I'm talking leather swivel rocking chairs style . Some museum pieces located around the room . This is a bar to sip and chat with people . Now comes the man himself. The reason I came here based on reviews I had searched for .......not a mixologist but a dam flavorologist!!!! Drinks he created are on the menus BUT he can also work off what you like based on three or four questions . We hung out with him for hours and sampled quite a few ..........he nailed it ! I went for the whiskey trinity (3 different drinks) and each one was amazing . Choc martini to finish the night Yum He has some snacks available Crockpot meatballs (cucumber mint vodka pesto). So good This bar was so good I want to stay at the hotel for a weekend We will certainly come back every time we are in Reno just to spend time and drink with Scott ! Cheers

ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. I can't figure out why the reviews are…read moreso low at this location. This was by far, the best MH I've been to in quite sometime. The service was excellent; both friendly and attentive. The drinks were on point. And the most important thing of all, was that they have the PERFECT biscuits and gravy. I have been to two other locations (closer to home and work) that have completed changed the country gravy recipe and not only was the color of all wrong, the flavor was bland and unappetizing. Another location adds diced onions to their country gravy for reasons I cannot understand, but it absolutely ruins it for me. This location has the recipe exactly right and was such a pleasant space to be in As well. Thank you Riley Street for doing the damn thing!!! We'll for sure be back for those double Bloody Marys and BNG!

Let's talk about Mimosa House!…read more From beginning to end, the experience was wonderful. Ryan, our server, was fantastic. He was friendly, knowledgeable, attentive, and had the perfect personality for the atmosphere. Great service can truly elevate a dining experience, and Ryan did exactly that. The food was delicious. I ordered the fish and chips, and the fish was exceptional. The batter was light, crispy, and perfectly seasoned--honestly, I enjoyed it even more than traditional beer-battered fish. The fish itself was flaky and cooked just right. As for the fries, I'm personally a steak-fry enthusiast, so shoestring fries aren't usually my favorite. It would have been nice to have an option to choose between fry styles, but that's me. I also ordered a chocolate martini, which was absolutely delicious. The owner personally prepared it, and it was rich, smooth, and hit the spot . Between the cute ambiance, excellent service, and tasty food, Mimosa House made for a great dining experience. We'll definitely be back!
