If there was a way for me to give less than 1 star I would! Total Comfort, Inc is a complete fraud of a company! They come in and waste time for the home owner not really ever saying whats wrong with the unit but instead trying to sell a new unit instead. One of their technicians compared the company to Nordstrom! When repairing a unit.. its either repaired or its not. Why does a company need 10X more overhead on prices and charges compared to other companies. Maybe for the crisp white shirts that they come in. I highly doubt any of their guys even know how to do a diagnostic run on the units. All they do is keep stalling until the "supervisor" (aka sales guy) comes to your home only to try to sell you a new unit again! All I asked for is a simple quote...then if you can even believe this... the main supervisor says "why should I waste my time giving a quote because you wont go with us, you are going to shop it around" DUH!!! Of course I'm going to shop it around!! Which idiot does a major repair on a house these days without shopping a quote around????? Common now, if these guys don't even understand the basics of business they have no idea what they are doing. If you want HONEST and trustworthy company DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!!!! We tried out this company because they have great customer service over the phone. But when they came to our house for quotes the prices were very high. I believe this company over charges for their services. We received two quotes of ridiculously high prices. I asked for a break down of the costs to submit to my home owners warranty for my home and they never followed through. We enrolled in their monthly program as you can receive a discount but we decided even with the discount their prices are too high so we decided to cancel. After 3 months I noticed I was still receiving withdrawals from my account. Overall I would not recommend this company. read more

I called because my AC wasn't blowing cold anymore and living in an upstairs apartment during summer is no fun without AC. I spoke with Omar in the office and he asked lots of questions to get an idea of my issue before even recommending a tech come to my house. He asked me to check my thermostat and a few other things to make sure it wasn't something I could take care of without a visit. Service tech was very friendly and did a good job that took him only about 30 minutes to complete. The parts were less then $30.00. I think the labor was over priced. The total repair was $273.00. This was to replace a few plastic pipes under the kitchen sink. If money is no object use this company, if it is shop around for better price. It cost me around $240.00 for approx. 30 minutes labor. I spoke to the manager of this company and now have a better understanding of the pricing. The work was good and the customer service was outstanding. This is a late review but it's worth my time to do this. Edwin and lee came over my house one day in advance to do my six months maintenance. Edwin showed me what they are doing in the AC box outside my home. I ask lee what he is doing with the unit and he gave me all the info I need. I got my own filter to be change. Edwin did change my filter. Showed me that one too. Edwin showed my how to connect to my WIFI to control my AC from my iPhone. Finally I'm doing it. These two personnel you guys got are very knowledgeable and professionally on what they do. WOW... AMAZING!!! PLEASE READ IF LOOKING FOR AN A/C COMPANY!!! It's June and as timing goes, our air conditioner went out. I called Total Comfort and they scheduled an appointment right away. They called me before the appointment to confirm and also called me on their way here- VERY HELPFUL since it is a 3 hour window of time (which by the way they arrived at the start of the 3 hour window)! Our technician, Edwin Garcia, was absolutely outstanding to work with! He spent about 2 hours with us to correctly diagnose the issue (which included running tests, checking filters, going into the attic, breaking off and defrosting the ice built up on our coils, and retesting everything- SO THOROUGH!!!). He explained everything he was doing, as he did it, so that we understood exactly what he was looking for. In the end we needed a labor intensive, valve/coil replacement, and our family has fallen on hard times recently and we couldn't afford it. Edwin and his managers dug into our warranty to find out we had two weeks left on the part, called different financing agencies for us, worked with us on the cost, and ultimately MADE THIS WORK!!! We were looking at a summer in the inland empire with no air conditioning! For me, my father recently passed away and I'm taking care of my mother with dementia and with everything else happening this felt like one of those breaking moments... but instead this was a total win for my family! I realize that this may sound over the top... "an air conditioning company stopped you from breaking... really???", but it's true. It's hard to find people, let alone companies, that go out of their way to truly help their customers, but Total Comfort, Inc. did that for us! Thank you, thank you, thank you Edwin and his team! After speaking with us he quickly went to work and diagnosed the problem. We were lucky to have a simple fix which took care of the problem. Total Comfort Inc. honored the "Goodman AC" parts warranty which only made us responsible for labor costs. Upon completion of the service he explained billing and provided us with multiple payment options. This review is mainly for Randy more so than the company itself. In the summer of 2016, I had to completely replace my AC unit that I had only had for about 5 years. Needless to say, it was expensive and time consuming. I didn't have AC for about a month during a heat wave while I waited for the parts to arrive. Well, it sucked. However, Randy was great. He was always understanding of my frustrations and concerns, and I felt like he was really working on my behalf. During this whole disastrous experience, Randy had given me his cell number so he could text me updates on the parts. This was way easier than having to call and deal with people who don't know my situation every time I wanted an update. Anyway, fast forward to 1.5 years later, and Total Comfort contacts me to schedule a routine check up on my AC system (included in my membership as long as they don't find anything wrong). They sent Randy to do it. He confirmed that everything was working fine, and he left without any charge. Hours later at around 9 or 10 PM, I started to realize that my AC hadn't turned on at all since Randy was there doing the check up earlier that day. It was set at 74, and it was about 77 in the room and the AC wasn't kicking on. What??? Luckily, I had Randy's cell, so I texted him and told him what was going on. Without hesitation, after hours, he hopped in the car and drove back out to LA to fix it free of charge. It was luckily a simple fix this time, but I really appreciated that Randy took it upon himself to make it right no matter what time it was instead of making me wait until the next day. He's great at providing excellent service, and I feel like he's always acting in the best interest of the customer. Thanks! read more

Do not even call these guys. Horrible customer service and a total rip off. My service window was from 3-5. I got a call at 4, an hour before the end of the window, and was asked to reschedule because a technician was working on something else. A manager, Omar, was extremely condescending and never even acknowledged the inconvenience of me taking afternoon off of work and wasting my time for nothing. He instead made it sound like he was doing a favor by sending a technician 2.5 hours late. When a technician finally arrived late that evening, he was very nice and had a great customer service, but per the instruction of his supervisor, wouldn't honor the 10-year warranty I had on ALL parts. He was also instructed to charge $500 for 10 minutes of labor and a $85 part! On top of that, I was asked to pay $69 service fee, which was supposed to be wavered if I decide to go with a repair. What a ridiculous rip off. If it wasn't for my boyfriend that used to run a construction business and called a BS on this ridiculous invoice, I would have been robbed by your company. He arrived early after confirming via telephone if it was okay to do so - which it definitely was and we very much appreciate. In addition to that, Jose was so efficient with his time and very friendly to my family - even our dog as well! Any question I asked was met with a very informative and polite answer that was both informative and easy to understand quickly. I wholeheartedly recommend Jose to everyone! He is very good at his job and clearly knows what he's doing. Our questions ranged from the basics about our service all the way to lifetime maintenance techniques and what products to purchase for the dual A/C system in our home. Poor service and communication. I've had an ongoing warranty issue that has lasted nearly 10 months now. The service manager has only returned one of my many calls: I've had to continue initiating contact to try to get the problem resolved. Techs have been out to my house 5 times now, and there is agreement on the issue, but the company is dragging its feet to fix it. Most recently, I took another day off for them to come out, but they cancelled. When I tried to call to reschedule, the receptionist said the service manager was in and she would connect me to him ... but then I was sent to voicemail. This is typical. I left a message and haven't received a call back. This is also typical. Don't waste your time with this company. read more

The person that came out to give us an estimate was dishonest and unethical. Thought because we were seniors and moving that he could take advantage of us being in a bind. He quoted a price of $695.00 for the condenser, high voltage distributor $575.00, and a main run booster for $495.00=$1,769.00. And a complete rebuild for $3,995.00. My husband bought a replacement condenser at RKM Heating and Air Conditioning for $43.20 and put it in himself and the air conditioner works perfect. This company is a COMPLETE RIP-OFF!!!! I had them to my home to replace a thermostat that cost $400 to replace which seems very high. They stated that would give me their unit check service and came back, a week later to check my heater at which time I was told that it had cracks it in and it needed to be replaced. they said they had to shut off my gas to the unit and told me it was extremely dangerous. I have later found out this is not true, just a scare tactic to get me to purchase. Today they called and said they would send out a supervisor to check for cracks and if there arent any I will get a brand new furnace for FREE! Clearly they are not going to give me a new furnace. I told him the other tech showed me the cracks so why do they want to send someone out to see if they are not there now? He didnt know. Clearly a scam to try to get me to purchase a new unit. They also did a bait and switch on my best friend. Told her her pilot light ignitor was broken and it would cost $600 to fix. She had it done and paid for it then they told her they were mistaken and she needed a new furnace, the other fix wouldnt work. She had no choice now but to buy the new unit that they said they would credit the $600 toward. BAIT and SWITCH. Do NOT do business with this company, bad business practices. read more

I will only give a terrible review when I am confident that a business did not have my best interests in mind and/or tried to swindle me. This review is for service received a little less than a year ago when I had Total Comfort come out for an AC tune-up. I have chosen to post this review now after having another AC tune-up done yesterday by a different company (the only tune-up done after Total Comfort "serviced" my system). The new company I am using has shown me honesty, integrity, and great customer service. They also confirmed my suspicions that Total Comfort pulled a fast one on me by doing some very thorough investigative work for me. When Total Comfort did my AC tune-up they told me of several problems with my system that needed my immediate attention: the run capacitor needed to be replaced, freon needed to be added or they would not be responsible for future system damage, I needed more roofing insulation for which they quoted a ridiculously high price ($4K to $5K for 750 sq. ft) and sent a guy out who tried to bully me several times into buying their product. On top of that, I found out that the tech who came out did not do as thorough a cleaning or inspection of my system that my current company did. The new company found loose wiring that should have been caught very easily. This loose wiring caused another part to fail, which I had to replace yesterday. Total Comfort either missed, purposely overlooked, or in the worst case caused these problems with the wiring so that they could charge me exhorbitant fees to fix what they had "warned" me about earlier regarding the freon. The run capacitor was tested by the new company right in front of me and the results were perfectly acceptable. No freon needed to be added either (what a surprise!). Regarding roofing insulation, the new company actually showed me how much roofing insulation I currently have (which Total Comfort never did). My insulation is acceptable although newer homes are insulated to the next higher level. While more insulation will make the home more comfortable, it is not absolutely required. This is what I expect of a company. Also, the quote they gave me for additional insulation is 1/5th of the priced quoted by Total Comfort!!! Overall, the impression I got from this company is that they put their interests ahead of the customer's. I will never do business with them again. I took the time to write this review to warn anyone else out there who is thinking of hiring them. It's hard to find an honest and trustworthy HVAC company out there, but keep looking. I am currently with Service Champions: they are leagues ahead of Total Comfort. There are other companies listed on Yelp with great reviews. Companies such as Total Comfort need to realize that people are not as stupid as they think and they cannot continue doing business like this. After reading other reviews of this company it seems to me that my experience with Total Comfort is common-place. By the way, if Total Comfort responds to this review I hope they don't pretend that they have never heard of me or that I am not a legitimate customer. Total comfort came through in a huge way! Not only did Mike give me a price better than the 2 others that came out he game me multiple options on financing. It was my birthday and I was leaving to go out. I trusted the guys to be in and around the house with out an issue. They promised that by the time I go back my house would be a cool 70 degrees. Jose and Pete showed up right on time and got straight to work. I went out and had my fun. I got multiple calls with updates through out the day. They even came up with a great idea to do some piping under the house for better curb appeal. By the time I got home at 5 they were wrapping up Mike was there finishing the last touches and doing last inspections. My house unfortunately was not 70 degrees, IT WAS 65! the stystem works great they helped me program all my remotes. BEWARE!! DO NOT USE THESE GUYS!! These guys will rip you off, and DESTROY your AC! Will put your KIDS HEALTH AT RISK! We had Total Comfort for a couple of years. We had a slightly older AC and figured regular service on it would extend it's life. BIG MISTAKE! Every time they came out they tried to sell us something. mostly they said our "A-coil" needed replaced sometimes it was our ducts, but since it still worked and I didn't have a lot of money figured I'd wait till it broke before we replaced it. So one of the technicians came out and washed inside of the AC unit with our garden hose. I know because I had to connect the hose and climbed the ladder to give it to him. Not being a HVAC technician I didn't think anything of it. After he left we noticed a water spot appear in the roof of my sons room, but decided not to make a big deal of it because it wasn't worth it. (First mistake) The next time the technicians came out they tell us there is Organic growth (mold although they can't call it that) everywhere inside our AC. I'm freaking out. We live in the desert, in 20+ years of living there we've never had mold. Come to find out, there are mold inhibiting chemicals they should have used. There are also tablets they could have used that are $3 for 24 on amazon so I can only imagine how cheap they are for wholesale. So when the supervisor James comes out I ask what they're going to do about it since it was their negligence that lead to the mold. He swears up and down that it's not their fault that there is no way their guy did that. That if he had (washed that part of the AC I was talking about) there would have been water damage. I showed him the picture of my sons ceiling. I told him about the chemicals. Every step of the way they say, we don't do that, and it's not their fault, and that "We couldn't prove it!" Tell us because we denied service that it was our fault. I HAVE NEVER BEEN MORE UPSET WITH A COMPANY! I plan on going to the NEWS and LITIGATION! read more
