Good for tropical fish hobbyists but bad for freshwater fish owners. Not a very big selection of freshwater fishes.

Didnt know much about fishes and decided to drop by this place. I was helped by a person named mason looked like he was early 20's. He told me that since I was new at this there are proper procedures to follow to ensure the fish was in the right temperature and in the right water environment! It was a learning experience and truly knowledgeable. I will definitely be back for more fishes!! I recommend! read more

The place maybe great for cichlid fish and aggressive fish liker around. But, the owner there doesnt really know much about the type of fish he has there like taking care of them and soem of their basic needs. Still, its an ok store for some fish needs. read more

I went here the other day for the first time, and I thought it was great. The selection of fish was great and though the place is a bit dirty, they do seem to spend a majority of time taking care of their fish and keeping them healthy. The staff was completely willing to help and chatter away with me about the different selections I could choose and I found the prices pretty reasonable compared to some other stores I visited, where some of the fish were marked as much as $50 more in the other stores. This is a very very very very bad experience. I come to the store a little late I think but they are still open i asked and I say Hi I want s to see fish and then the owner saw me he didn't say anything he don't even turn the light on the store was very very very very very very dark I couldn't see nothing ................. what the hell.............I am used my cell phone light try to see the fish !!!!!!!!and" suddenly "the owners show up say "what are you looking for"............ you know what I'm thinking I want to answer.that guy I say I'm looking for a dog and the cat what does stupid question he asked me this is the worst worse bad experience I never meet. The store was still open i think they close by 7 p.m. I saw that time still 6;30pm ..........bad bad bad I think his must be very rich and he don't need a business no more so I just walk away.too bad. read more

drove down from victorville to buy a jardini, Fish was in good health. would defiantly buy from them again, they also had a pretty good selection of coral. And they also recommended a good place to eat! Thanks again!!! read more

This Place Rips u off. one little small coral frag costs over $25 dollars and they dont even lets u choose the one u want. I will never ever EVER go back to that terrible terrible place. worst place i've ever gone to. this place sucks balls!!!!!! read more

Different people rate fish stores in different ways, I like rating them by the rare fish they have and not how clean it is! This fish store has many rare freshwater fish that I have only seen online! They have many arrowanas, plecos, discus and flower horns! They have rare fish that serious fish buyers would love to buy! This place is kept pretty well, it'll probably be my first stop if I ever want to purchase a flowerhorn. (So many flowerhorns here!!!) Other than that, they don't have too much variation for freshwater fish.. some neon tetras, goldfishes etc but nothing I haven't seen in other stores before. I'm not sure why they wouldn't let us purchase one of the fish in a tank up in the front.. the bigger tetras are there. A little disappointed but no biggie. Although the guy who help us out didn't seem too knowledgable about the fish, he was super nice, chill enough to let us catch our own tetra (+star!) and friendly enough to suggest where to go for moss since they didn't carry it atm. read more

Total Fish & Pets really stands out against the others. The shop had just about every supply needed for both fresh and saltwater. There was a wide variety in the coral and fish tanks that clearly denoted a good up-keeping by the management. Also, an honorable mention should go out to the Flower Horn and Discus the store has. The discus were of many sizes and colors at a reasonable price while the flower horns were very vibrant in their markings and with a big head too. The owner was very pleasant the whole time, making the visit feel more like an experience rather than a transaction. I also got to say their ocean water is very good and my fish have never been healthier. Total Fish is THE store to go to and I would highly recommend it. read more

i have been a customer here for the past 6 years for the life of my tank. the prices for fish & equipment is cheaper than other stores. Ken & Calvin are the owners. Ken at times has a "dry" sense of humor but is really a nice guy when u spend more time talking with him. Calvin is always warm & friendly. they have readily helped me over the years with various tank issues. lately, my system developed a slow leak & after discussion with Calvin, i decided to give up my tank & my last 3 fish. Ken came over with his truck & took my tank, even the damaged parts of the stand. he was very friendly during the 1 hour it took to dismantle & drain my system. read more

He has a huge selection of tropical fish along with a wide variety of salt water fish. His tropical fish, are very rare and he prices are super good. Decent place. There is a good variety of corals here. A large variety for fresh water fishes. A bit less variety for saltwater fishes. Things are can be pretty expensive. read more

They sell Sick Fish, and tiny Corals with expensive price. They won't allow you to return anything after you step out of the door. if you don't have a QT for their sick fish at least 8 weeks, you will end up with a whole tank of dead fish and coral. Most of their fish have Ich and they tell you their water is good, Don't buy water and fish from them. Stay away!! read more

Ive been a customer of total fish ever since they open in alhambra. Let me just say that its hard to find a good fish store. Theres just not many out there. I was in there the other day and wanted a beautiful max mini anemone. It stuck itself on a big rock. It was hard to get to but these guys there was happy to help me take the anemone home.
