Given I'm knowledgable about mechanical and electrical systems, I had a pretty good idea what needed to be done and knew it shouldn't cost anywhere close to $550. Larry came out 2 days after I called him (it was a hot week and he was busy), he listened to my concerns, he showed me everything that he was doing and why he was doing it. He recharged the system with R-22 refrigerant. He told me up front how much he charged per pound (very reasonable market price). He even taught me some new things about AC systems. All of this for around $150. He has 45 years experience in HVAC and now runs a small business for himself. I found him to be very honest, straight forward, experienced and reasonable prices. I would highly recommend Larry for HVAC work. NOTE: If you call another HVAC company and ask them how much they charge per pound of R-22 refrigerant when recharging AC systems and they won't tell you, hang up and call Larry.

As there was no actual repair needed, he fixed the install and didn't charge beyond the reservation/arrival fee. He was organized, communicated clearly and acted in a professional manner. I give this business 4/5 stars because I think they could do better than a 3 hour window in a town as small as Lafayette and because there was no serious issue to put him to the test.
