My wife and I had heard of the new liquor/wine/beer mega store on the north side of the city. We were impressed with the selection the store offered. We went in with one item in mind. As we wandered the store we became less enchanted and more frustrated. It was like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Customer service was non-existent. We a found a couple of items we would have purchased in our attempt to locate our primary purchase. I finally went to the cashier and asked where I would find the mead. I got a blank stare, she called another employee and the answer I received was that it was next to the Port and pointed in a general direction. We walked that direction and could not locate it. We were there over half an hour and no customer service ever offered to help us. That was it... we put our items down and left in frustration. We walked next door to the Best Buy, and no lie, within the first two minutes of entering the store three different employees asked if we needed any help... read more

I'm saddened by the fact that they will no longer allow you to taste the beer on tap before you purchase a growler full. Why in the heck would I buy a growler full of beer I have no idea if I would like?? I'm pretty sure they won't give me a refund on the 24$ growler I purchased. Seriously a big take away and much less of an incentive to drive all the way out to the north side. Even your staff was embarrassed to have to tell me about the change. They were obviously placed in an unfortunate position of supporting such a lame decision. We won't be going back.......I can beer in bottles just about anyplace! read more

Amazing wine selection. It helps if you are already somewhat expert. There are many recommended wines on the shelves, and not all the "picks" are good. Just called to try to buy a case of a Tuscan wine and they could not tell me if they had it by computer search. When I suggested she look on the shelf, she dropped the call before I could describe the label and then told me she "didn't see any" when she returned. I understand poor inventory information in a really small business, but this place is huge. Surprising to me that their computers don't have more to offer. Seems like there could even be a site to look up on the web, but I didn't find that connection. Still, the place has good pricing and an unbeatable selection of wines. read more

Love love love love love Total Wine!!!!! I could get lost in this place for at least 15 minutes at a time. Even if I buy nothing here, I still love walking through the business because I never know if something new will jump out and yell "BUY ME NOW"!!! read more

it's about time that Spokane got a store like this. I have been to other stores like this in other cities and was always jealous and trying to figure out a way to bring home bottles. I'm a huge beer and whiskey geek, and all I can say is that this is heaven. They had every single rare whiskey that I looked for, and about 90% of the rare beers. In fact, their whiskey section by itself is bigger than most liquor stores. read more

It has become a joke with my wife that every time I deal with Total Wine and More there is some kind of fiasco. First time: ordered a keg, called three times to verify delivery, when I drove 30 minutes to pick up they had sold it to someone else. Second time: ordered keg and was promised someone would call. No one called. I finally called two days after the promised date and they had no idea about my order. Third: I called today to see what kind of kegs they have currently in stock. Was told that I would need to come in myself to look. The person on the phone was at a register and was not willing/able to find someone to go look for me. Three strikes you are out. It's hard to imagine another wine shop offering what Total does, and non-intrusive, informed staff help is really appreciated. Overall, the wine selection is incredible. Asking why we couldn't find a few specialties we like brought this answer: "the distributor/winery refuses to let us offer a discount." Difficult to accept there's absolutely no negotiating room with the buying power Total must have, but still disappointing to the customer. That aside, this place tops our wine shop list. read more

I am VERY disappointed with Total Wine's customer service. They made a mistake on my order (an expensive addition which I did not ask for) and when I brought the mistake to their attention, I was told it was not possible that an employee made a mistake, not possible that there could have been a computer error, and they then suggested that my family members were criminals. At no time did they apologize or try to find a solution. I will never shop here again and will advise everyone I know not to as well. read more

The decline of knowledgeable helpful staff will be the ruin of this and the sister valley store. When this establishment opened nearly three years ago, it was on point. The product selection was superior, the organization made logical sense, and the staff was knowledgeable and helpful. Every time I visit this store now it is nearly empty and the staff is either aloof or borderline rude. Good and rare products not available elsewhere are disappearing. The products are not arranged in any order that makes sense for the style, brand or easy access. There was some management changes a few years ago and I don't believe this establishment was ever able to fully recover. Selling wine, quality beer and liquor is not an easy feat, especially if it is of the esoteric sort ( which many of the disappearing products have been). The typical American palate is not accustomed to these items and when the price tag is high if your staff is ignorant of what it is ( which they certainly are!) your not going to move enough off the shelf to guarantee its sale with the high liquor taxes included! The last few times I have been in this store the staff has basically ran the other direction any time they saw a customer, they chat amongst themselves and appear generally disinterested regarding their job in general. This is all unfortunate because I hate wasting my time looking for a product I know the website says the store has and having to scour and scan through the isles to find it because it was not categorized effectively( and nobody is around to assist). I really wish I could say I would never return but unfortunately this is the only store that carries many products and at a cheaper price. I will definitely shop elsewhere for any product that this store does not carry exclusively. read more

Total Wine & More is the best store I've ever been in. Just had a beer by Hilliard's called Saison made in Seattle, I can truthfully say it is the worst beer that I can remember ever tasting. I have been to this store about 5-6 times in the last 6 months. The first time I went there I needed to stock up. I wanted to purchase some new types of alcohol for my hubby and I to try. Alas, there wasn't an employee in sight that wanted to make eye contact. After walking by 2 managers who were deeply engaged in flirting with each other, strolling into the beer section and having the poor female growler filler almost hurt herself trying to hide and then doing another walk-through......and still not finding an employee to engage with, I left without spending a dime. The next couple of times I went in were the same. I went into the store again a couple of days ago. It was frightfully similar. 2 managers so engaged with each other that there was no acknowledgement whatsoever, an employee scurried by quickly trying oh so hard not to make eye contact. I stood in the tequila section for a bit checking out their Huge selection. And then, amazingly, an employee approached and asked if he could help. He did help and he is an asset to Total Wine. I made my selections and went up to the front of the store to make my purchases. Yikes!! The cashier was having a bad day.......not friendly. I have now made a promise to myself that I won't be bothering this company again with my money or business. I'm still not sure what their mission is but it certainly is NOT to sell their merchandise and it most certainly isn't to make customers feel welcome!! read more
