Food: the bacon was excellent and the sourdough toast was very good. The stuffed French toast was lackluster thanks to their choice of bread. The corned beef hash was okay. They claim it's the best in the west. Two places that serve corned beef hash that is lightyears better: Pancake Chef in SeaTac and Meridian Cafe in Puyallup. Service: speedy from beginning to end Ambiance: comfortable booths, clean

What a nice surprise! We had an appointment a few blocks away and were craving a late breakfast. We were so glad that we gave Totem Family Dining a try. Service with a smile and we were seated immediately in a restaurant that was 95% full. The menu is better than the standard breakfast fare and has some specialties mixed in. I had the malted waffle with sausage and my wife the stuffed French toast with bacon. Both were very good. I saw biscuits going to other tables that were the size of a softball. Some covered with gravy and heaping plates that looked awesome. Prices are very fair and portions are generous. That bacon was thick cut, cooked to perfection and tasted custom smoked. We will definitely be back as this is our new favorite when in Everett

Monday morning and very busy. Servers friendly and efficient. Eggs Benedict truly amazing. Bacon sorry no photo was thick and perfectly cooked. Sub fruit vs hash browns. When time permits we'll be back

We came around 10:40 am on a Friday for brunch. There was a line, and people kept coming in after us, which shows how popular the place is! The staff was friendly and courteous, and the meal portions were generous. We enjoyed the #35 Chicken Fried Steak Barge and the Stuffed French Toast very much. The facility was clean and nicely decorated with a holiday vibe. Parking was easy, as there was a small parking lot in the front.

In short Basic diner in every way but you might be surprised at just how good the food is--and the whole place, really. In long It's been here for decades, and it's been a couple decades I've been meaning to get in here to try it. I've gotten here a few times and seen massive lines, so it's not like I've made ZERO effort...they just get SO busy. Finally made it in at 10:30 on a cold and gray October Thursday, and still had to wait a minute or two for our table. They're so friendly and cheerful, though, and absolutely always in motion doing something. This is the kind of place that almost seems like it has been open 24 hours for 50 years or something. Partly because the activity just never stops, and partly because it seems like maybe it's been a while since they put in new furniture. They have some hand-made benches covered with, you guessed it, totems, in a vaguely Coast Salish style. Respectful enough, and not really trying to use the iconography for profit. It's just kinda some of the decor. The people here are incredibly warm and gracious. We saw a server lean over to hug a guest who hadn't been in in a while, while on the other side of our table a guest was asking our server where he had been before he moved back here. He took the time to tell her his story even though his section was full. Then the server who hugged somebody was walking arm in arm with an older guest to steady her while she got her to her table. Man, oh, man, do we need more of this everywhere these days. But the food. You get two laminated menus. The all-the-time stuff is all appetizing, with many of the dishes you see mentioned most often as favorites. We both got specials--the bennie had brie and prosciutto. This is a place that might make fun of those things as pretentious ingredients, but here they use them and use them very well. it's a rich but well-balanced bennie with awesome muffin and hash browns along with it. The Totem Hash is a legit corned beef hash with tons of veg in it. I could actually go a little meatier with it but I still ate until I felt beached. That was definitely *before* I finished the plate. Between us we ate maybe 1.2 plates of food (out of 2). The biscuit is killer--tons of flavor and aroma, big, soft, chewy. Great with little bites of hash and bennie. They do so many extra little things here. Scratch soups, scratch freezer jam. You really feel like you're in somebody's home, especially when you add in how warm and welcoming the staff is. Prices are great even before you get to the portions. Once you factor in the knowledge that you can feed 2 people with most of the single dishes here, the prices are insanely good. So many things have to go just right to make a place this great, and we need places this great all over the place. I wish we had 100 more Totems, but I surely do appreciate how lucky we are to have the one.

This has got that old school diner vibe, you could almost imagine Flo and Mel in the background. The food is really tasty and hot when it comes out of the kitchen. The customer service is quick and the wait staff are very kind. Will come back.

Cozy family diner. Really wish we had more of these around. People knew each other in the neighborhood, were happy and just there for quality time. Food portions were crazy large and great! Service and operation were smooth. Super friendly and they had people in and out quickly even though the line seemed so long.

We left Everett for Seatac on a Saturday so there was aa bit of a wait to get a table but nothing unbearable. The parking lot gets packed and I felt guilty parking in front of someone's house but what can you do? Prices are about what you expect, around $20 - 25 per person after you add tip and tax. The menu is huge and the portions are fairly generous considering the price of food in 2025. The pics kind of speak for themselves. It's solid, hearty food and we enjoyed ourselves considering I hadn't seen my cousin for years, it was just nice to sit down to a nice breakfast and hang out with him.

Totem has a lot of options. We went with the typical breakfast of pancakes and eggs. Everything tasted great! The service was nice and speedy.

Visited Totem with my sister earlier & I'm already planning to return tomorrow lol. I loved looking around the interior at the classic antique decor & old school diner seating. It's such a vibe & a place I think everyone should come to at least once. Our server was Sonny, which is such a fitting name for him given his disposition and level of service. My sister ordered a JR breakfast which comes with one pancake, bacon, scrambled eggs and cheese. I had the #15 and opted for sausage links, O'Brien potatoes, an English muffin and scrambled eggs with cheese. For drinks we had their coffee and green tea. Everything was good, serving just enough food portion wise & was well seasoned. Pricing is also fairly low compared to other breakfast/brunch spots I've reviewed. If you happen to find yourself on this part of town give them a try!

I have celiac disease and would like to eat there or get food to go. Are hashbrowns gluten free and can they be kept from cross-contamination? Are eggs and bacon gluten free and able to be kept from cross contamination?

It may serve you best to call the restaurant.

If there is a party of 5(including two kids ages 5-6 ), should I make a reservation, or how long is the wait on a Saturday?

It is a popular restaurant so calling in for a reservation would always be a good idea. We last visited during in-between meal times and it was quite crowded.

I see on the website now open for Dinner Wednesday through Saturday. What are the hours on those days?

Ot open for dinner rite now. The hours are M-F from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm and Sat/Sun from. 7:00 to 3:00

Is gluten free bread an option to toast?

    Yes. Yes it is.

We were greeted as we entered and had access to the menus right away, as they are placed at the entrance. We got seated and were able to order quickly. We came at a non-peak time so we were at the front of the queue so to speak. The restaurant is very clean. The bathrooms are also very clean, which I love to see. It shows me the business really cares about how it comes across. Our food was prepared and served very fast. My friend was still in the restroom by the time it had come. As you can see from the image, my Japchaebap was awesome. (Order with tofu if you're vegan) I got mild spice just because I am sensitive to *too much* spice. But as someone who enjoys spice I couldn't really perceive it. So if you have a good spice tolerance I'd suggest you up the spice one more level than you would think. The flavoring was great, but I don't really like the noodle texture. I prefer them with more weight. It was a slight challenge getting them onto the fork, and it being stable enough to put into your mouth. Just something to consider when choosing your dish. I'm still glad I chose to experience the dish. Maybe I'll learn to like this style of noodle. Special note if you're vegan too: the kimchi has shellfish, so skip any menu items with the asterisks that have kimchi in the ingredients. Thankfully my friends caught that because I would've missed it as it's below another note.

We ordered the 4 Meats and 4 Sides Meal for 4 to 6 plus 2lbs of Pork Ribs. See our pictures to see what we picked up. We liked how the items were separated with foil. Hot items were hot and cold items were cold, as expected. We were asked if we needed plastic ware or plates, which we did not. They still put in plenty of napkins and some wet wipes. The food? Pork Spare Ribs - 5 - Nice smokey flavor and very tender. Really didn't need sauce but we had plenty of mild and spicy on hand. Links - 5 - Good textures and excellent flavors. They gave us both flavors because they had run out of the one we ordered. Yay for us! Chicken Thighs - 5 - Thick, meaty, juicy thighs. Tri-tip - 5 - Very tender. Beef Brisket - 4 - I forgot to ask for "Juicy" and some of our slices were on the drier side. That's my bad. Smashed Potato Salad - 5 - Excellent! Cole Slaw - 5 - As expected. Cowboy Caviar - 5 - I don't remember trying this before so I don't know how it compares to that of others, but we liked it just fine. Would we order it again? Maybe but I missed having Mac & Cheese too. Collards - 4 - Tender but a tad salty on the back end for me. We had plenty of leftovers after dinner, so we boiled some asparagus, toasted some Hawaiian Rolls, fried some eggs, air fried some hash browns and reheated some of the meats for breakfast. Mmmm!

My husband and I have been eating here since at least 2021 and have raved to all of our friends and family about how fantastic the cocktails and the food are here. We always bring family here for a nice dinner night when they visit from out of town, and it has been consistent since 2021 until Thursday, August 27th. We always order the same drinks, as they are our favorite. I enjoy the Limoncello Drop, and my husband always gets the Bloody Mary. I order mine with raspberry-infused vodka, and my husband gets the jalapeño-infused. His is always spicy, but flavorful. Mine is always tart and sweet. This time was different. Mine was just sweet and had a dried citrus slice floating in it, which is not how it has ever been served. My husband's Bloody Mary had a wooden stick in it and no garnish. There has never been a floating garnish in my drink, and the Bloody Mary has always come with a garnish. Sometimes it is roasted garlic, green olives, and lime. Sometimes an herb sprig and jalapeño slice; another time was garlic, jalapeño, lime, and rosemary sprig. It has never come without the care of a garnish. Additionally, his cocktail tasted terrible. It was just hot. No flavor, just hot and off-tasting. He sent it back, and later the bartender came by to apologize and said the lime juice was off and they had replaced it. He offered a new drink, which my husband declined. For dinner, we shared the Puget Sound Steamers, and for the first time the broth was bland. We usually sop up as much as we can with the bread, but it was just flavorless. I was not able to order my usual dinner selection of the Alaskan Chowder because they were out, which has never happened before, but it was not a huge deal, so I chose the Caprese Salad instead, and it was okay. My husband ordered the Rustic Mac + Cheese; we have both ordered this many times, and it has always been delicious except for this night. It tasted off too, very pasty. Almost as if the flour had not been cooked enough in the béchamel, or perhaps too much flour? It was so bland and pasty that it was sent back, too. When we spoke to the server about the mac + cheese and that it tasted like uncooked or pasty flour, she said there was no flour in it, only cheese. The menu describes the dish as a creamy béchamel, which is a flour-based sauce, so her answer surprised me. I did not press it. Sending food back is not something we enjoy doing, and we left disappointed. We were not charged for the returned items, and we appreciated that. My husband declined a replacement, so he ended up with no dinner, and we stopped somewhere else on the way home. Something was different across both the bar and the kitchen that night. I hope it was a one-off, because five years of consistency earned this place a lot of goodwill with us. At these prices, we expect more, and my husband is reluctant to go back.
