It's a short simple menu with your basic fish and chips, a few sandwiches or lobster additions and only 2 flavors of shakes-Sticky toffee and biscoff, (which to me seemed like a must try item since those are not your typical options.) I tried the sticky toffee and it was good but not as cold so it tasted like thick whipped cream. Sticky toffee is also an overpowering taste for me personally but my husband enjoyed it! The fish and chips were battered perfectly and fish was delicious. There was a good seasoning and flavor to the batter which set these apart in taste. Size was okay but more on the medium side. Yes, I was tourist trapped bc of the name. I figured, I gotta try it at least once. I ordered the shrimp basket based on the reviews with the tartar and cocktail sauce. The cocktail sauce was spectacular! The shrimp was not bad. It would have been better if it was not so OILY! I ended up removing the coating and ate the shrimp itself which was really good. So it is a fast food atmosphere which I am great with although all the available tables were dirty and no staff available to clean up so I had to clear a table and wipe it down with a napkin which isn't the ideal. For my sauces, I had the standard tartar sauce and the Dijon aïoli. I would've loved to try the mango curry sauce, but they were out. The food comes, and it was a generous portion. The fish was lightly breaded, I liked the breading, and it was a very high-quality flaky fish. The chips were overall crisp on the outside, and very tender on the inside. The two sauces were great for dipping. So why three stars? The food was just way too oily! I don't know if the oil wasn't the right temperature when they fried it, , but I could definitely taste it in the food. Not only that, but you eat fish and chips with your hands. My fingers were just glistening with oil. After the meal, you could see the oil all over the table top. It definitely took away from the meal. Wife got standard Fish and regular Sea Salt chips, + 2 of the Tartar sauce. I went with the Lobster & Shrimp, with one siracha aioli sauce(great flavor, a little spicy but not overly), and 1 regular tarter(tangy) Lobster tail was nicely battered, full of great flavor and paired well with either sauce. Our chips (fries) were firm, nicely browned and quite tasty. The restaurant was an order at the counter, and seat yourself, retrieving your food when your number was called. How is this anything lower than 4 stars? They have one of the best fish in chips in town and if you are local you get 20% off anytime, the prices are pretty cheap for what you get with the discount. Their dips are also unique, the only thing people complain about is the time may be a bit slow, but what do you expect when they are made to order. Their dirty fries are the best, the ones with the pork and cheese, truffle and garlic are also good. Be sure to order extra fish pieces when you go since they are on the small side and are delicious. It is a quick service format, and always busy as it is in the central connection between El Dorado, Circus Circus and Silver Legacy. Beautifully presented, golden flaky exterior sitting on top a bed of french fries. Served with a lemon, and not one, BUT TWO SAUCES. Gordon, you generous soul! But seriously, this little touch is chef's kiss and everything diners want. Bravo, chef. When I say this was scorching hot, I mean it was hotter than hell. This fish came directly from the fryer. We were in a rush and had to eat quickly, so we scarfed down as much as we could without setting our mouths on fire. The fish was crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. I just wish they had more salt. I've watched enough Gordon Ramsay to know he always says season your fish when it comes out of the fryer and I think he would've said the same thing if he were sitting next to me in the moment! The fries, although rather plain looking, are tender and delicious. I didn't feel the need to upgrade the fries to something more extravagant, but I've had the truffle parm at another one of his restaurants before and they are quite tasty. The dining room was rather empty at the time we went in. I feel like it could be reconfigured a little bit better to enhance the British/European dining experience. I had high hopes for this place and this was my 2nd visit so I know that this wasn't just a one-off experience. My wife and I came on a Tuesday evening around 7PM and it was pretty quiet. The server that took our order was friendly and quick to get everything in. The food cam out pretty quickly as well, and that's where the positives end. We ordered the standard fish and chips meal as I would expect the flagship product for the restaurant to hold up. The fish is overly greasy and the fish itself is not good quality. The "chips" are nothing to write home about either, as basic a fry as you can get. Luckily we only ordered one meal to share, for 17.99 it was not worth it and we both felt bad after eating one shared meal. I will mention that we ate most of it, mainly out of obligation after paying for it. As I walked out I joked that I could have prepared a better meal with frozen fish and chips in my Air fryer, but it wasn't really a joke. I was really skeptical when I had seen fish and chips being sold at a landlocked location such as Reno. But man was I wrong! The vibes at this location were fun.
