Given a cake from this bakery. It was extremely soft and sugary; I think it was 1/4 cake and the rest was icing. About melted halfway as well but it was kept at room temp and not in the fridge before being given to me. I'm not a cake or sugar person so I had a small slice to be polite and it was really too sugary. Also, the person who bought the cake told me they ordered it online and when they went in to pick it up, it wasn't ready yet when they had received a confirmation it was. Came in on a Sat afternoon. Not busy at all. Staff were cleaning but attentive to us when we came in. Little dim lighting, K-pop playing, neat clean place. Had a good vibe. Was hunting for cakes. Ones on display were for sale and we picked a small size mango cloud. We all enjoyed it. Mango cream had a bit of a tartness to it and had real mango pieces in the cake too. Not that sweet, even the cream outside. Definitely Asian style. Light delicate and not too sweet. Enjoyed it and would consider trying another type of cake next time. Cake is mainly cream, so they have a plastic film around the cake to hold it in place. Hint- start cutting the cake from the end of the plastic film wrap. Easier way to cut and serve! Unfortunately I couldn't get their shaved ice because they ran out of material to make it. The cake I got was Chocolate Mousse. It is tasty, cute, and enjoyable to share with a friend. They also have cakes you can buy for any occasion. This is a chill place to study. They have outlets everywhere. There are many Tous Lea Jours locations, but this is not the best I have seen. It could do much better in its cleanliness. The trash was overflowing. My friend and I went here to study for a bit and no one changed the trash for 2 hours after it was full. I got the peach and fresh cream cake for my boyfriend's birthday. This was not on their online menu. I found this cake when I visited the store. The cake tasted very nice with good amount of peach filling in between the layers. It would be nice if they could also consider taking pre-order for the cakes and not just same day order. When I called in to order a peach cream cake on the morning of my boyfriend's bday, I was told that they do not have any for the day. However, I need to remind myself to steer clear of the milk breads! I keep forgetting why I don't like them...and then pick up a few. My partner finally found me shaved ice! FINALLY. We had been searching all summer long to find a decent priced (only $11-12!!!!), soft shaven, not artificially sweetened shaved ice! Low and behold, we'd find it at a bread and cake bakery in Santa Clara! We originally stopped by Tous Les Jour for some French baguette, but had no luck. Looking inside the store, it seemed like they reduced or cutback on the production of their baked goods, which is understandable with COVID going on and their concept of grab-your-own pastries and bread. Nonetheless, our eyes gravitated toward their colorful poster advertising their infamous shaved ice topped with summer fresh fruits. Just take a look at the photo yourself and be the judge in how tasty that bowl of shaved ice was for us!!! The fruits were firm, fresh, and sweet! We also really liked the simple blueberry fruit syrup, which we presume to be homemade, that they drizzled all over the bowl. It made the fruits sparkle and the thinly shaved ice much much tastier on that hot day. The shaved ice had a nostalgic, condensed milk taste and was not at all chunky in texture, but fluffy!! I give them 5 stars for the shaved ice experience and the quick service. I also appreciated that our bowl came in an insulated baggy with ice. I typically call about 1 week in advance to place my order and service is wonderful. They can write whatever you want on the cake & it's always ready on time for pickup. I especially love that they always include candles with every order! I always get their cloud cakes here bc it's super moist, not too sweet, and the icing is super light & buttery. It's Asian-parents approved, so you know these cakes are good bc of how picky they can be when it comes to desserts/sweets.
