Great service and good bagels, occasionally they mess up my order because they're always in a rush

Been here many times and have not been disappointed. Large selection of menu items even for a vegetarian. Always fresh always made to order. Their veggie spinach wrap is the best tasting wrap around. The ingredients compliment each other and the wrap never has that tangy taste that many veggie wraps have secondary to old broccoli. The bagels are soft on the inside while crispy on the outside. If you are on a low carb diet, try a scoop of their tuna or egg salad. So delicious no carbs needed. read more

Not my favorite bagel shop in the area. I feel the bagels are a bit over done as they're tough and too crispy on the bottom for my liking. They're very dense too; I prefer ones which are slightly lighter. Personally, I prefer Bagel Plaza which is just a short drive west on Merrick Road. read more

I came here a few times now. This place gets very crowded especially the parking lot. I usually get a bagel with lite veggie cream cheese and lox sandwich, comes with a side salad such as macaroni salad or cucumber salad. I also order a drink which all together comes out to around $12. It's slightly more expensive then some of the other places within the vicinity and I wish the cream cheese had slightly more vegetables. My friends come here for the chopped salad and also includes a bagel. You get a clip board to fill out. People I go with are happy with their chopped salad and I plan on trying soon too. If you want the best bagels on Long Island, look no further. Their everything bagels are so good I have too high of expectations for other bagel joints. Though, it shouldn't be too far fetched for a bagel place to cover their bagels in the "everything" mix rather than sprinkle a measly couple seeds and call it a day. Town Bagel does a great job of using the right amount of seeds, onion, and salt (often forgotten) on the entire bagel (top and bottom). I can't say enough good things about this place. If you are looking for an unforgettable experience, go to Town Bagel at 5am and get a fresh bagel from the ovens. You will not regret the lost sleep. Great bagels and excellent service. Iced coffee is very good and I really love the flavor of the veggie cream cheese. I have only been here for breakfast but they have a ton of room for seating which is really nice and although the line can get long it moves very quickly thanks to the great staff here! Visit Date: May 30, 2014 I stopped here on my way to the Merrick LIRR station in the morning. I wanted to grab breakfast for the train ride into the city. I'm really glad I stopped here it seems there are many options available for food. I got a cinnamon raisin bagel with cream cheese. They made it perfect. The bagel was ever so slightly crisp, fluffy and firm. The flavor of the cinnamon and raisin was just right, the cream cheese was applied perfectly. Sometimes a bagel place will pile on the cream cheese and I'll have to wipe a lot of it off because personally I don't like that much cream cheese. I would recommend eating here. read more

I go here pretty much every week for two years. They have always been over priced but it's convenient so I go. Today they give me an "omelette" that was suppose to be off there menu with a few defections of ingredients. The one on their menu goes for like 8bucks you get the omelette that is made with broccoli rabe and grilled chicken, a bagel and a coffee. I got bacon egg whites with Broccoli rabe no bagel no coffee no chicken.... they still charged me 9 bucks and I open the box and it's not even an omelette it's two strands of uncut broccoli rabe wrapped in a blanket of egg whites.... for $9.... Just stunning how badly they messesd up my order. The young lady took a full 5 minutes to write every detail of my order then repeated it back to be 3x ! Then had me look it over so I never imagined that that there would be a problem. The unsweetened ice tea was sweetened, the coffee with milk was black , the tuna with mayo and tomato had neither and was horribly dry, the lox and tomato and onion also had neither condiments. In addition to the 25 minute wait to make this order After taking all the time to take it I'm just stunned that NOTHING Was prepared correctly. First and foremost, I have been to town Bagel quite a few times considering I was raised in Bellmore. My husband and I order from there on my way to work a couple of times a week until I moved to Amityville. To be quite Frank they have messed up my order a lot! Altho the service, Other than making my sandwich wrong, has always been extremely friendly. Their bagels are very good as well as all the other stuff they have there. I enjoy their salads and their sandwiches and cookies. To be honest, I have ordered the same bagel/sandwich everyday for a long time. Always my wheat bagel, TOASTED and scooped out properly with a thin spread of vegetable cream cheese and sliced lox. My biggest pet peeve is it being warm and toasted because I don't like a cold bagel with cold cream cheese and cold fish. I get it made wrong all the time even if I were to write it down on paper, which is saying a lot. At one point I told my husband maybe I should come up with a less complicated order. I was told that it's not right that I have to settle for something more simple because people don't know how to read or listen. So I ordered my sandwich as I always do, it was not toasted and didn't look scooped, and this was the first time I didn't have time to go back. Thankfully I work down the block and when I called to reorder another sandwich (the same but I asked for it toasted), and this time it was right, they delivered it to me personally and they didn't charge me, which was very much appreciated. Tried to call in an order at 6:15am for pick up. Manager told me he won't take it over the phone and to come in because he promises it's not busy. If it's not busy, take my order. Any mother that has children that need to get to school and also needs to get to work understands the power of a place that will let you order before arriving. Don't go here if you actually want to be served!! on multiple occasions I've gone here and watched as the large volume of employees mill about behind the counter pretending to be busy and working and ignoring the counter line. Today there was no line, my daughter was to be helped and stood there for 10 minutes while no one acknowledged me. she left empty handed because she had to make a train. I later called and spoke to the manager who was rude, told me that didn't happen and then hung up. I guess that they subscribe to the business model that there are so many people here that by the time they make everyone angry they will be ready to retire so they don't have to worry about the old adage that the customer is always right. Horrible. Would not recommend. Where to begin?! Firstly, they do make a good bagel. But the quality of the bagel vs the consistent lack of service provided here isn't enough for me to give more than one star. I suspect it has a lot to do with the fact that Town Bagel used to employ hard working local kids but now with the total change in staff over the last couple years, the service has gone 100% downhill. The type of people they employ are nasty for no reason and give a stank attitude as if you are bothering them with your presence. There have been days I have walked in late morning or early afternoon and stood at the counter for 5 minutes while employees behind the counter walk by stocking food, cleaning, etc and act like they don't see you. A simple "be right with you" goes very far. One day poor David (the only saving grace in this place) had to put down a giant crate of soda in the kitchen to come take my order because the idiots in the front walking back and forth behind the register and salad counter were too good to take my order or retrieve another employee to do so. Owner knows this and doesn't care. The Bellmore/Merrick moms swamp this place for lunch dates and keep him in business so he could really care less about the people who work in the area that patronize his business on the daily. Which brings me to the fact that ..... their prices are different EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. My place of work employs a large staff and ALL of us have regular orders here. Consistently we are charged different prices depending on who rings us out that day. How a BEC on a roll can cost $4.99 one day and $6.99 the next is beyond me. (they are way overpriced to begin with. I have paid $9 for coffee and BEC roll. Read: Bellmore/Merrick moms who will happily pay this premium) Their ADVERTISED breakfast combos with OJ/coffee? Forget it! You will never see your complimentary cup of coffee and they will look at you like you have 10 heads when you ask for it. Orders are often made wrong even when it is written down on a piece of paper for them! Then, they accuse you of ordering your regular order wrong. You can't make this stuff up! Bacon is always rubbery even when asked for extra crispy. Their bagels and their toast are only toasted on one side so they are usually just warm and mushy, not toasty. If you ask them to double toast your bagel, it will come out burnt and they will act like that is how you asked for it. If you go in the afternoon, the coffee is almost certainly watered down. If you just want to grab something from the case and pay for it without getting on line for a made to order item, good luck getting someone to ring you out. You will stand at the register and be ignored by all the staff and the owner to boot. You will need to ASK one of them to take your money. This place is so unorganized with their way of ordering and paying it's like there are 20 different employees scurrying around but nobody wants to help you. Sometimes the people who make your order are your cashiers, other times there is one person strictly on the register. I once saw a child grab something from the case and sat down to eat it while his father was in line to pay for their made to order items as well. The owner came from behind the counter and screamed at the child for not paying for the case item FIRST which in turn made the father put his items down and walk out of the establishment. Good riddance. A few weeks ago they double charged my debit card, as well as a few of my coworkers. They were having an issue with their credit card machine. When I noticed it I went in and instead of a refund, I asked them just to credit me for next time. The nasty woman with the glasses who mans the register kept insisting they did not and treated me as if I were a criminal trying to steal from them. To make a regular customer have to show you her bank statement on an app to prove you charged me twice for my 2.99 bagel, is disgusting. If it weren't for it's proximity to my job I would NEVER come here. The owner does not appreciate the business from the daily customers who have given him business for years. read more

Another "wonderful experience" at town bagel this morning! I was welcomed with just a "super warm" welcome from the women behind the counter. She had short brown hair, was tall and had glasses. Now, I worked in customer service for a few years during college and I know it can be a lot but a simple smile is not hard. Anyway I shouldn't have given this place another shot because every time we come the people are rude and the prices are ridiculous. Go to seaford or any of the bagel places down the road. The bagels here are amazing. All you need to do to find 3 other amazing bagel joints in the area is read the coffee cup. This chain of places has figured out how to make great bagels and if you stop on by you'll be convinced also. Place has a large selection and the staff keeps the line moving along. Price Gouging!!! I never do this but today I felt that I needed to! Walked into Town Bagels in Bellmore for a bagel with bacon, egg and cheese, place my order the girl behind the counter was so nice and accommodating! She asked me if I wanted the tiny orange juice or coffee that comes with the bagel as I didn't need it I said no thank you. I get to the cash register and am told it is $8.69!!! For what?!?!?! A bacon, egg and cheese!??? Even went as far as speaking to the owner and he said yes that was the price!!! Please do yourself a favor go elsewhere because an owner that doesn't appreciate his clients and is ok with price gouging to this level doesn't deserve any clients!!!
