I had gone in on a Saturday morning, at 830 to have a tire patched as it had a screw in it. I was told it would be ready at 1230 and to come back for it. At 1230, I came back and another employee told me that car had not been worked on and it wouldn't be done until 5pm. That employee suggested I make an appointment so that the tire could be fixed, which I did. I made the appointment for a Wednesday at 4pm. On that Wednesday, I received a call from Town Fair Tire, saying that they had to cancel my appointment because it was hot and they had sent two employees home because of the weather. I said no problem, and rescheduled the appointment for Friday at 3pm. Because the car was sitting at my house, I had made arrangements to get the car to Town Fair Tire in Auburn earlier(1030am), and was told that it would be worked on before 3pm. At 145 the same day, I called and was told my car would not be finished until 445pm. I asked to speak to the manager and was transferred Peter. I advised Peter what has transpired in the last week to get my tire fixed. He responded by saying, just because you brought your car in before the appointment time, doesn't mean it will get fixed before then. While I understand that might be the case. He further explained that they only had 2 bays open and 5 employees working. He also told me that he had a lot of trucks and pickup trucks that were being worked on the same day, so that it was a difficult day. As the customer who had brought their car there on the prior Saturday, and then having an appointment canceled, you would like to think that the staff at the auburn location would do everything they could to make sure their customer was happy. In fact, Peter, further stated that there was no way to get the car done and fixed before 445pm. It is only when another employee, who saw how upset and angry I had become with Peter, did he come in and fix the car in 25 minutes. I spent more than 25 minutes arguing with the Manager, Peter, when this all could have been rectified. During the 25 minutes, my vehicle was being fixed, I saw numerous employees smoking, eating and laughing outside of the store. This is not the first time I have had poor customer service at the Town Fair Tire in Auburn, but it will be the last, thanks to Peter! read more

Horribly unprofessional. For starters, I pulled in and upon exiting my vehicle I could hear nothing but F bombs dropping from the open garage bays. Seemed to be a bunch of obnoxious kids working vehicles. I could smell marijuana, which became more prominent as I approached the building. I was sold 2 tires in a row that had sliced peeling treads. When I went back to rectify the issue I was told it's my fault even though it was impossible for my fender to have contacted the tire. The technicians refused to even look at it, knowing very well they would find zero signs of scraping. The management was extremely rude and dismissive of Town Fair Tires responsibility to rectify the issues. They feel they're not responsible for for the poor quality work or products the offer. Every time I come here I get great service the tire specialist I dealt with both of the last two times was Pete he is definitely the guy to ask for when you go in there! He explained that they were booked for the afternoon, but given my situation, he agreed to let me get towed there to have the tire replaced. They say they take you in order, but I watched the technicians cherry pick which job to take on their board. The wait at town fair tires is unbearable. I've been buying tires for all four cars for many years. I can understand that you would have to wait to have tires installed. But after you buy them and you have a low tire pressure and you bring it in to check it they tell you you have to wait an hour and a half that is terrible service. I was very happy with the tire service I received from town fair tire. I called a few days prior, already knowing the service and type of tire I needed and was given a quick appointment. I dropped my car off early and it was ready just as my actual appointment time was starting. The mechanics here were informative and I felt that the prices were great and affordable. The only thing was that I couldn't find my car after they gave me my keys, but I found out that it was parked across the street in their overflow lot! No worries here, just a bit of confusion. I have been a customer for this particular Town Fair Tire for the last 8 years or so. The last time we purchased tires, we apparently bought a set of tires that would not last very long. 10K miles later, we needed new tires. To say I was furious is an understatement. We went in, and we talked to the manager Brett about the situation. He was very helpful, and he was able to assist us in getting the situation taken care of in a manner that we were very happy with. I had a series of tire problems, and one would think the $1,000 spent here would earn polite and courteous responses. But but that was a rare occurrence here. One look at their "customer waiting area", a tiny, dirty corner next to tire stacks, with a handful of cheap, uncomfortable plastic chairs, is all you need see to understand their lack of concern for customer satisfaction. My husband and I bought new tires for both of our CRVs here within 3 days of each other. Everytime we entered the store we were greeted promptly and politely. Peter is a great manager and answered all of our questions and addressed concerns that my husband had. All of the workers that we came in contact were helpful but Anthony stands out since I spoke to him frequently. This business is consistently busy. Keep this in mind when you are scheduling your day. Overall, I received great service. I purchased 4 Bridgestone tires for my Honda CRV. I had previously done my homework online but did not bring in the competitor's rate. I showed up during the week in the morning and was out on-time as promised (maybe 5 minutes later). When I returned the next day to inquire to take them up on their price-match offer. I found that they give you this "apples-to-apples" comparison which seems fair but virtually inarguable when you stack up all of their free add-ons. I checked the tires to find that ALL lug nuts on both front tires were loose, so much that one had already come off . Brought the car back. Talked to the manager. I can't speak more highly of this store. They do great work, are fast and efficient, and incredibly accommodating. I made an appointment for 5:30pm (which they normally don't do because they close at 6, but agreed to do it anyway). I paid upfront before my car was even taken in,and moments later asked for a full refund after they way I was treated! He refused to be honest or help me in any way whatsoever! Town Fair has great prices on their tires, but are they worth waiting for? I've been coming here for years but now I've had it. They like to advertise free tire rotation and flat fix, and they do that. I had both done this year and it was a 4 hour wait both times. To top it off they stripped a lug both times and I had to have the studs replaced. $180 each. "They came that way." Even though they were the last to work on them? Are they careless or are trying to drive away people who use the free aftersales services? False economy. read more

I subsequently purchased tires from this location but that was a mistake. The sale was uneventful but after a rotation they make you go twice for retorquing and it takes an hour. At Tire Warehouse it was 5 minutes and I didn't even have to get out of my car. One staff member here leaves customers in line to take a break, keeps them waiting when their vehicles are ready because he is chitchatting with the Fedex guy, and is rude and snarky. He also would not correct the mileage on my car, entered incorrectly by their company, in the computer system. These issues do not exist at the Leominster store where all the employees are normal. I will not buy from this chain again because time has value and when you factor in how long you have to wait in line for them their costs are too high. You can't even sit while you wait - my knee was acting up and I had to stand in line only to be ignored. The retorquing mandates seem like a plot to discourage people from getting the tire rotations. How come when you just bought the tires and had them installed you don't have to return for retorquing, but after a rotation you do? Because in the first case they are getting money out of you and in the second case they are not. read more

Ordered 2 new tires on 12/12/16 and had an appointment on 12/17/16 for installation. Place was a mad house. I had to sit and wait for over and hour while they unloaded the tire shipment that just arrived to see if my tires had arrived? (every other place could get them within 3 days) I bumped into a friend who had been waiting for about an hour a half for his overdue appointment. There was a sign (I took a picture) posted up for the day advising customers: Attention Customers: Due to the Extremely cold weather all cars will take longer than normal. All technicians must take breaks to warm up to prevent hypothermia. Thank you for understanding. WHAT!?!?! How can you have a business in New England that does not have a heated area for workers and be expected to service customers? I'm baffled. Well, approx 90 min after my appointment time I was advised my tires had not come in this shipment. I asked when they would arrive since this appointment was made a week in advance with the information they would be there. I was told to call on Monday because they do not know when they will be in. So, this place may price match and give deals but unless you have no time constraints, don't mind wasting time sitting in a tire place regardless of planned appointments and don't mind having no idea when or if your tires will ever come in... then sure... give them a try. Maybe bring some hand warmers for the techs and you won't have to wait 3+ hours like other customers were complaining. If nothing tomorrow I'll be going elsewhere. read more

The tire i had ordered a week ago was still not in the shop in time for my appointment - needed this tire to pass inspection so i was stressing out - to cover the need for me to get through the inspection they put a different tire on while waiting for Firestone to deliver the tire i actually ordered. Went in to have a nail in my tire removed and have it plugged. I called beforehand and I was told this is a free service they offer. Great! I went in on a Saturday and I was told that they are too busy and are no longer doing that today. This was understandable, as it was a Saturday and they were very busy. I was told to come back during the week as early as possible, they open at 7:45. So, I went back on a Tuesday at 8:20AM. Went to the same person at the desk and asked to have the nail removed and plugged. He said sure! But its a 4 HOUR WAIT. Then I was told I could make an appointment. I said okay, any day this week works. I was then told that they are totally booked!! WHAT?! I walked out and I will never be back again. Let's see how do I start this, it started with me purchasing 4 brand new tires from this location back on 11/29/2022, at first (Anthony-"short guy") sold me the first tires he thought would be right for my vehicle without giving other options as I thought he would(wrong), then I get the tires, tire warranty, balancing and alignment as well I pick up the car at night time, guy in the front tells me everything should be fine so I take the car home, the next day I drive my wife to work and the car is shaking on the highway at about 50mph, so I slow down and decide to take the car back to them to re check the balancing and alignment so I drop the car off in the a.m. and again picked it up in the evening so Shawn tells me everything should be fine but I decide to take a look around the car and notice that a lugnut was missing and another one was sticking out a bit, so I asked the service manager from one of the bays and he re torques the lugnuts back in and the one that was sticking out was longer than the ones that I should be fine, so off I go home again and the next morning I show up early to show them they have cross threaded the 2 lugnuts so I had to replace those 2 studs and they told me car should be fine "again"...wrong so I drive the car to drop my wife off again and the car started shaking like crazy at about 40mph, so I decide to call the store and Ken tells me bring it back in, so I do and I hear that they had cross threaded 2 more studs on the opposite side so at that point I'm like super frustrated and decided to take the car, till this day the car is still shaking but I am afraid to take it there again. Hopefully the right people read this message and prevent this from happening to anyone else. I never thought getting new tires would be this crazy. So after 4 studs replaced, multiple re balancing and alignments the car still shakes, it looks like they just parked my car outside and didn't work on it but I can't really say they didn't but it just feels like it as the car still shakes. I don't know what all the bad reviews are about. I have been there twice, once to buy tires and once to get an alignment after my dealership left me high and dry cause they close for lunch( WTH). Both times my car was serviced correctly and fairly quickly. I had an appointment for the alignment and was taken right on time and back out the door in under 40 minutes. The man I dealt with Pete was a funny guy and recommended my car have a small repair next time it was at the dealership and why. He was very good at explaning this to me. I would go back but hoping with four new tires that I don't have to for awhile. read more

Some of the most heinously slow service I've experienced at a tire shop. First, their "free hazard protection" isn't free. Still costs $5 to have a tire repaired/re-mounted. Second, I was told by an employee that it usually takes 5 hours to have a tire patched. I was "lucky" when I went, I dropped my tire off and returned four hours later to find it was ready. I had to just go in, because I never received the phone call I was told I'd get when it was ready. (For reference: the last time I had a tire patched without appointment elsewhere, it cost a flat $15 and the car was ready in under 45 minutes.) Thirdly, the employees have some real attitude. I may not have been polite when told my "Free" service wasn't actually free, but the employees didn't really seem to care that none of their printed literature mentioned charges to have my tire patched and mounted. If you want cheap and to never return, sure. If you want a shop you can trust and go back to car after car... avoid this place like the plague. read more

Wow! Do NOT get your tires at this shop. They put major gouges in three of my aluminum rims! I showed the supervisor and he said, "That's curb damage." There was no damage just prior to his team putting on four new tires. He cleaned off black residue that lined up with new scratches yet he claimed they had nothing to do with it. Get your tires from either Tire Rack.com or Sullivan Tire but steer clear of Town Fair Tire (especially Auburn). read more
