Ran over a piece of metal Sunday and dropped the car off at Town Fair Avon last night. I called today and they hadn't looked at it yet. Got a voicemail an hour later from Ian......the message said the tire would need to be replaced and a new one was $366 but there was a rebate for $80. I told him to replace the tire and once again asked for the total cost. Once again he ran down the charges and mentioned the $80 rebate. I told him to go ahead and replace it. Went in to pick it up today and was told the total charge for one tire installed was $399.80. When I questioned the cost he told me that the $80 rebate was for four tires not one. He said the gentlemen who I spoke to was gone for the day and I was WRONG about the $80. I paid and took my receipt and walked out. On the way out the gentlemen loudly said "YOUR WELCOME" . My words of advice......get everything in writing with these guys. No need for me......I won't be back. read more

This is an update from a previously left negative review about my experiences with the Avon and Newington Town Fair Tire locations. After posting I received a call from the Regional Manager who researched my experience and sincerely apologized and vowed to "make it right." The manager assured me the issues would be addressed and for my troubles they would send me a check for $50.00 which restored my faith in their company, that was 2 months ago and never received anything. Dysfunctional from top to bottom with this company, do yourself a favor and stay clear. Better to spend a bit more for quality service/experience. read more

I had a flat this morning and was only a mile away so stopped in. They used to have free flat repair for customers. They said yes it's free but there is a $13 service charge (um, no that's not free). I do need new tires but cost is pretty high for the crap they sell. Now they push a lower cost option in selling tires that were returned within 90 days if someone didn't like them, ah ya no. I made an appointment to get 4 new tires, I purposely made it 2 weeks in advance as I was told the tires needed to be ordered and I was going to be out of town. I received an appointment confirmation the night before. I had to take the morning off work for the appointment, arrived just before 9:30am only to be told (after waiting 45 minutes) that they didn't have my tires... The "accommodation" they offered was I could come back that afternoon (I could not as I already had altered my schedule for this) or I could get the tires they had in stock... for DOUBLE the cost. I went across the street to Firestone and was taken care of immediately. I will never again use town fair tire. read more

Town Fair Tire in Avon started out as a great experience, but ended badly. My questions were quickly answered and, having no idea about cars and tires, I didn't feel taken advantage of or pressured into a high-price choice. The tires I chose are great and a very good price. They got me in same day and replacing 4 tires and an alignment took about 3 hours- most of which was waiting for a bay in the garage. The problem came when they brought me my key, and also handed me the lugnut and bolt that had sheared off. I can't prove what happened of course, but it's pretty clear it was over-tightened and snapped. Town Fair Tire told me "this happens some times" and that I would need to to get it replaced- which they couldn't do. So I had to spend several hundred dollars more to replace the bolt and lugnut. That being said, the guarantee on the tires is great. When the first snow came and I busted a hole in one of my brand new tires, they replaced it completely for free. Unfortunately, the money I would have saved was spent on replacing a part they snapped, so it wasn't really saved in the long run. At least they didn't snap anything the second time. read more

Avon store, very customer friendly. About 2 week ago I got a nail in one of my tires so I went to the Avon, CT store just before closing. Their sales person, Miguel went above and beyond to assist. The tire was not in stock so he source it and had it available at a store, for the next day, which would be more convenient for me. After having a bad experience at the East Hartford store, I returned to Avon and again received superb costumer service from the store manager, Mark and Miguel. Whenever I come here, I regret it. Yes their pricing is good, but the value stops there. Incorrectly balanced wheels, bad alignment, poorly mounted tires, etc. are all issues I have faced. I have had nothing but repeated bad experiences at the Avon town fair tire, and will not return to this location ever again after my latest trip. This journey starts with Seth, who ordered the wrong tire (more expensive) for my car even thought I explicitly gave the name/model/size I wanted. Seth & the manager attempted to price match with the tire I actually ordered, but could only give a small discount. I accepted this as the other option was for them to order the correct tires and wait another couple of days. After the install, one tire went flat just two hours after picking the vehicle up. Upon taking all tires off of the car to inspect their work further, it was clear that another tire was incorrectly mounted to the wheel and was on the verge of having a blowout. After returning both tires back to the shop, I was told that both the leaking tire and the incorrectly mounted tire were a product of installer error. When your only job is to install tires, you would think they would have better than a 50% success rate. Especially on something as obvious as this - see attached pic. Not only was the install shoddy, there was no apology or compensation for the terrible installation, or the inconvenience of having to return to their location two more times. Driving on a tire like this is dangerous and I am lucky I saw it in time. To add insult, the "repaired" tires/wheels were absolutely filthy when I picked them up. They were covered in bead sealer and soap residue - no tire bag was offered to me for transport. If you have to get new tires, please go anywhere else. After so many years dealing with this store has disappointed me with the bad service i received a month ago they took my personal belongings from my car and charged me for alignment they can't complete to then tell me come in a month fix what's needed to fix and we will complete your alignment. when leaving my car shake so bad when pulling over my tire bolts were loose , this has not been the first time i have been told come back for alignment with in the month i was told they would refund me and still no refund called to speak to Mark store manager and so happens he's always busy to answer or return my calls and yet no refund i drove to store parked across the street when i just seen him enter the store when i got to the counter i was told he was not there he was out for lunch. read more

Very pleased with our recent visit to Town Fair Tire in Avon. We worked with Jake, who matched the best price we could find on the Michelin tires we needed. The rear tires were fine, so we replaced the front two, rotated the rear tires and had an alignment. We dropped the car off Friday night and received a call around 9:30 on Saturday morning letting us know they were done. I then inquired about the cost of rotating the tires on my VW Atlas Cross Sport (which were the original tires when we purchased it in 2022). Jake offered to rotate them for free!! Watch out for price "mistakes" when purchasing a tire here. My wife was charged $29 over the online price. I returned to the shop and they said they have different prices for in-store vs online. They refunded the difference, but I doubt the answer I received. I think they tried to take advantage of my wife. read more

You can go to a dealership for tires and deal w/ inflated costs they'll lay on you to cover their overhead, or you can go here. Do a little homework first tho. Get an idea of what size/brand/prices make sense. It's always best to walk in any store at least somewhat informed. Me, I figured I'd need new tires by April, but I was in area last wk and stopped by w/o an appointment.. Took my vehicle in without an appointment the Saturday before Christmas due to a tire pressure issue. Tire was repaired in about an hour and I was able to do Christmas travel without any problems. I had to return to TFT on 1/15/24 for a similar issue, but a different tire. Because I had to return within 30 days from the first repair, there was no charge! Really appreciated the professional service! I recommend making an appointment so you have some priority for service. My second appointment only took about an hour. read more

So Town Fair Tire brags about low prices however my experience on Two occasions at this Town Fair Tire Avon was, I was given a higher price and then after I searched online with my cell phone for 10 seconds they matched the Walmart price which was $30 dollars a tire lower than the price quoted. Town Fair is well aware of the prices of the tires if I can find it and any novice person can jus ask "suri" then just price the tires a dollar lower than the lowest.. The shakey part is having it priced higher for ppl who don't check. If you want to do that don't "advertise" having the lowest prices . I bought a two sets of Pirelli tires at Town fair Tire Avon ,at the time I bought them I was never told " we are not allowed to work on them by Pirelli" however it is advertised free flat repair , and is does not say except for Pirelli . I get a screw in my two month old Pirelli tire . I go to Town Fair in Avon to get it removed. Of course the salesperson needed to go look at the car even though I told him "i have a nail on the middle tread of my drivers side front tire" . Salesperson takes my key and goes and looks , he cant find it , so I go out and show him . "Oh thats not a problem it will jus be about a 40 min wait" . I wait 50 mins I then get asked to come to the front and am told "we can't fix that tire" then someone else yells over "Pirelli wont allow us to work on them you have to repair then yourself or I can put another one on" Ok facts: A ; I don't repair tires, thats why I'm there. B; These tires are two months old. C; They cost 300 dollars a tire. D; I jus sat there for 50 mins only to be told we cant fix the tires we sold you but we will sell you a new one. From a customer service stand point I found this inter action disturbing. For starters A; why would you sell a tire you cant work on, not to mention you advertise to the contrary. B; Why did the salesperson not know you cant work on them , is it a secret reserved for management if so that seems un logical. C; Lastly when I purchased the tires why was I never given this information. Well actually see "B" if it is a secret reserved for management then maybe that explains that part . Never the less this was not a ideal situation. Its hard not to go to TOWN FAIR TIRE because the have the most locations and offer a more convenient experience . Yes they have all major brands, Yes they are competitive as to pricing and will fix flats for free. But their customer service is POOR. Telephone wait times are abysmal. Want vehicle left all day to balance tires that they failed to balance correctly when they installed them! Better off going to your dealership. Unprofessional, the worst experience and waste of my time. I ordered a tire on Thursday and specifically told them that I needed the tire back by the end of the day. They told me it will be arrived at noon. When I tried to pick up at 4, they told me that it didn't come. They should have called to inform me so I can get it from other tire companies. At that point, all the tire companies were closing. They told me that it would come today (Saturday ) at noon and would put it on the rim upon its arrival. I told them that it put me in the bad spot, I called today at 1:30. The called was directed to the call center. I waited for a while to be finally transferred to the store. Mack was the one who answered the phone. He put me on hold. I waited for about five minutes. He never got back to me and the phone went into the voice mail at the end. I called again. The call center told me that they will notice me when the tire arrives. I asked: When? Answer: I don't know. Only the idiot would wait for them to call without knowing which day you are going to get back to you. They had no credit left at that point. I insisted to be connected to the store. Same thing happened again. Mack answered. On hold. No getting back, Went to voice mail. I had enough with this company. CS rep was straightforward and was not trying to steer me toward the priciest tires or a specific brand, just took into consideration what I was looking for and made a good recommendation, which was accurate to online reviews. The tires were 2 day delivery and he worked with me to get it there the next day as I mentioned with my situation that sooner was better. Latest example: Called on Saturday. They were busy so they said we could set up a time to come on Monday. Sounds great. They couldn't make any promises but it would help get us seen quickly. Arrive on Monday -- basically a changeover from winter tire and an alignment. And wait. And wait. No update. 2 hours later. Oh, we're getting to it. Another hour passes. Finally, the call, nearly 3 1/2 hours later. Of course, since we were waiting AT town fair tire, the cell phone call was meaningless. Where is the car? Oh, it was done 15 minutes ago - car must be out back. Wait -- why didn't you come FIND US since we've been waiting 3+ hours. No explanation. No apologies. Just brusk service. I've bought 6 sets of tires from them for over 15 years! But given the rude and slow service the last two times, not sure why we'd go back anymore. read more

Called at eleven AM on a Saturday in March. Spoke with Adriel and asked if I could get a re-evaluation of my alignment on my E-350. There was no hesitation. He said they would fit me in. I dropped the car off with Jacob at 12:00 PM. I left my car and was called by 3:00 that I was all set. I hit a pot hole with the car. I replaced the left front tire and had it aligned. Town fair told me they could not realign the front. I had to have a new strut and steering knuckle replaced. They realigned the car at no cost to me. On this occasion I was very pleased. read more

I had a GREAT experience at Town Fair Tire. Josh was the guy who helped me and he was amazing. From the time I walked in to the completion of the job he was attentive and followed up. I have purchased many sets of tires at Town Fair. This last set I purchased was incorrect and when I discovered this Josh bent over backwards to make it right! It was really not their fault for the mix-up and again, they could not have been more accommodating. I read these bad reviews and certainly can appreciate the frustration I could hear in the post. Purchase tires the night before and sat for two hours in the waiting area with the heavy aroma of rubber tires. I was originally told and hour and a half. Before leaving I was told to come back after 25 miles of driving to have the wheels re-tightened for safety purposes due to the age of my car. They said more than once it will only take " five minutes". I returned the next day to be told it will only take five minutes. After sitting 30 minutes again in their heavily scented a rubber room. I decided I would tighten my bolts myself. Went to my trunk got the crowbar and started tightening. I asked for my keys back and left. If something is going to take longer tell people that. Don't waste peoples time when things don't take five minutes! read more

Town Fair Tire agreed to price match our tires with the quote from COSTCO. When we arrived, they said they had to price match via a rebate that we should receive in 2 weeks. It's two months, and all we've been doing is getting aggravated by customer service for our rebate check. We were told there was a delay in rebates, we've called a few times and it's just been a complete hassle. We would have saved our time and money and just went to Costco for the same tires and higher level of customer service. Don't be fooled by their "price match" shenanigans. read more
