Conversation confirming appointment for vehicle and I would be driving 2 hours.

I had a scheduled appointment today to purchase the 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 (VIN: 3GTUUEE81PG331659). My wife and I drove over 2 hours from the Tracy area specifically for this vehicle. We test drove it, fell in love with it, and were ready to complete the paperwork and purchase. Unfortunately, we were informed upon sitting down that the truck had been sold earlier this morning. This wasted a significant amount of our time and ruined our day. I had confirmed the appointment in advance, and I expected the vehicle to be held as discussed.

Update to previous review. They charge 3.50 for a crush washer if they don't include it when you get your filter. Save your money and get it from amazon, you can get 25 for 4.99 instead. Also they take over a year to clear out recall work and multiple visits to get it to happen. And the GM tries to sell you a car before bothering trying to get it fixed for you.

I had a fantastic time buying my new 2024 Prius XLE today, from emails to Text to meeting in person Neil P the salesman was super polite and helpful. I had no intentions to get the car today, but the experience was wonderful he got me a great price where I couldn't say no. He took his time even after the sale to explain the features to me.

The service takes 3-4 hours even if you come on time. They said there is a line. But yesterday they didn't have any appointment.

To be clear: I did NOT buy a car from David, but I'm writing this because of how he treated my wife and me. When I'm in the market again, David will be the first person I contact -- and I recommend others do the same. My wife and I drove 106 miles to see a used 2022 Honda Pilot after being told it was still available and that we should come in for a test drive. We even texted updates on our arrival time and asked if a manager could be available to help expedite things when we got there. When we arrived, the original salesperson was tied up and introduced us to David to help. David was friendly, engaging, and thoughtful, and as we walked to the vehicle he made us feel welcomed. Unfortunately, before we could even properly look the car over, a manager came out and told us the vehicle had already been sold. That was disappointing after a two-hour drive. The policy was explained, but the tone started to feel more like a lecture than customer care -- so we decided to politely disengage and head back to our car. This is where David truly stood out. David followed us, apologized sincerely, and said, "I want to make this right." He wasn't pushy at all -- just genuinely empathetic and solution-oriented. He offered to find the same vehicle in the same color, stayed in touch, and communicated proactively throughout the process. He texted updates without us having to chase him, responded quickly, and put in real effort over several days to try to acquire the right match. When the vehicle arrived, David immediately sent pictures. Unfortunately, it turned out not to be the color we wanted (and it's possible I mixed up the exact shade originally), so we didn't move forward -- but that doesn't change the point: David's professionalism, integrity, and follow-through were exceptional, especially considering the original issue wasn't even his fault. If you want someone who will treat you with respect, communicate clearly, and genuinely advocate for you, ask for David Gonzalez.

In response to my very negative review about that experience, the dealership escalated their response up the chain, at first trying to justify what I experienced, but ultimately offering a seemingly sincere apology, promising the dealership would make sure their staff did not behave in this way going forward, refunding the upsold work, and offering a free future service. So while my initial experience was very negative, I was happy with the final resolution, and the most senior person who engaged me in the end really listened and said all the right things in response to my concerns. In summary, while my initial experience was very negative, I was impressed by the dealership's ultimate response, and maybe most impressed by the time they took to really listen to my concerns and seemingly take them seriously. How to rate this overall experience is a bit challenging, but I'm going to focus on the positive resolution rather than the challenging experience beforehand.

Unfortunately, many dealerships are friendly and make promises during the sales process, but once the sale is complete, they no longer seem interested in helping. I recently came across a review, and I was shocked to see that it was posted so recently because it reminded me of my own family's experience a few years ago. My mom took her vehicle to this dealership for service, and just a few days later, she started experiencing problems that she had never had before. Those repairs ended up costing her over $6,000, which was a huge financial burden as a single mother. When she brought her concerns to the dealership, they insisted the issues were not their responsibility. This happened years ago, so I would have hoped that if customer service was an issue, things would have improved by now. Seeing recent reviews describing similar experiences is disappointing and makes me question whether much has changed. As a customer looking to make a major purchase, I want to feel confident that a dealership will stand behind its customers even after the sale, not just when they're trying to make one.

I first reached out on Wednesday, and over the next couple of days we exchanged texts and emails about the car before making the drive there Friday morning. At no point during those conversations were we told there would be an additional $3,000 in dealer-installed add-ons added to the advertised price. Maybe it could have been mentioned somewhere along the way, but unfortunately it never was. Once we arrived, we learned the extra charges included: * $1,500 for a LoJack system we neither wanted nor needed * $1,500 for plastic door edge and door handle protection To put that into perspective, similar plastic edge and handle protection can easily be purchased online for around $50. After spending 3 hours driving there and another 3.5 hours driving back home, the experience felt very much like a bait-and-switch situation. The attractive online price got us in the door, but the actual price was thousands higher due to mandatory add-ons. To be fair, buried in the fine print was this statement: "Vehicles may be equipped with optional dealer installed equipment. Please contact dealer for final price." Unfortunately, I missed that disclaimer before making the trip. Let this be a reminder to others: always read the small fine print carefully and ask for the full out-the-door price before driving long distances to a dealership. I do want to say the sales staff themselves were polite and professional. They even bought us Starbucks coffee Friday morning, which was appreciated. This review is less about the individual salespeople trying to do their jobs and more about the dealership policies they are required to follow. Transparency upfront would have saved everyone a lot of time and frustration. Overall, a very disappointing experience and a huge waste of time.

The man that helped me out also offered me a quick approximate of what I would pay with a car worth (xx) amount and he said a guy has gotten one and took it 5 years around 270 a month.
