There was a glitch in the on line store purchasing, so we had to go in and purchase it there. When we got there, I'm not sure about the miscommunication, but we could not get a delivery. I was at Tractor Supply today to purchase items for my horses and chickens. It was about 90 degrees. I happened to park next to a truck with metal cages crammed with chickens. They had no water and the cages were very hot.I asked the man why he had the chickens in such horrible conditions and he told me that he was collecting chickens to roam his sanctuary. When I was in Tractor Supply I asked a couple employees what was going on wth the chickens. I was told it was a rooster roundup. if you had purchased baby chicks at Tractor Supply and they turned out to be roosters or simply unwanted hens you could give them to this man and he would take them to his sanctuary. When I returned to my car there was a second man handling the chickens very roughly. I asked him what he was doing and he told me he was going to kill and eat them all. Then he cursed at me and asked me if I eat chicken and I told him that I do not. Then he and the other man both cursed me. What a horrible deception for your customers. Then some LOSER NAMED JOHN with a face that looked well aged comes over and tells me nope, don't don't have any. Why? Who are they for? I didn't know I have to tell you why I'm searching or looking to buy something? He leans on the customer service desk and asks where did I hear about it? Then turns away and starts helping the next customer and ignoring me. Then sees I'm still standing there and says check back next month. I've never been around such a bully in my life. Two stars for providing a prompt receipt when order was cancelled. Ordered 12:58pm yesterday. Followed up 4pm when no delivery communication was received. Told would be today. Ok. That's not a big deal. Estimated delivery before noon. So still not same day for orders placed before 2pm but understandable. 11:30 am today. No call. Website shows order not trackable. Call back. Clerk says it will be delivered Saturday. Three days post order. For same day delivery. Ask for manager. Manager communicates it will be tonight by 5pm. We have animals. Need the materials. The discrepancy is somewhat the fault of their corporate / web team over promising what the store cannot deliver on. Website says orders placed prior to 2pm receive same day delivery. Simple enough. We live in the Amazon age. Simple. Quick. Cost effective. Don't over promise when the delivery driver come to find out is stretched thinly well beyond what they can deliver on. The inconvenience following up, now canceling is the waste of a customers time. Company's want our money, but over promising and under delivering is not how you get my repeat business. Common sense. If late. Call or text. Provide eta. Manage expectations. The manager seems nice enough but didn't seem to grasp that time spent following up is their issue. Put yourself if the customers shoes. Manager yelled at me in front of entire store. I was using something I just bought and it broke. I returned it and manager tried to say I used it excessively and compared it to a vehicle with 200,000 miles. I just bought it two days ago used it once and she compared it to a car that has been used for 15 years. I understand the monetary loss of returns, it sucks, but don't sell products that suck and you won't lose money. Ok so I order all my dog food from here. I just returned a bad bag to the store and I handled the return first with the absolutely amazing cashier. My problem is with the manager. After I loaded my return/trade into my car I went back in to do some shopping( another bag of feed and usually stuff I don't need). The manager came up to me questioning what I was doing implying that I was going to steal. She literally said oh you're going to actually pay for another bag? Why the hell would I come back in if I was done shopping? She made me explain what I was doing start to finish and then rudely walked away for a phone call. I waited for her to get off and asked her to go get me another bag in the back because they were out in the shelf. I was so flustered and offended I didn't ever want to browse the isle like I usually do. I just PAID for the bag and left! Rude manager. read more

Not just jumbled after other shopping, fertilizer spilled, dog food spilled, dog poop on an aisle, mdse on the floor, etc. The bathroom was simply shameful. There was such a shabby, pitiful selection in several areas of the store. I had to question if they were closing or not. Checkout was an absolute joke. We did end up buying a few things. 2 bags of chicken feed, a bag of dog treats, a couple of shirts & a few other little items. We were rung up, we paid & were simply dismissed. No bag offered. Nothing. we pushed the cart carrying our items to the truck & placed everything inside. I was pushing the cart back & I saw that the next customer in line got his items nicely bagged. Every single time you go there they never ever restock or have what they advertise..The lazy workers give the same line every time..We only have whats on the shelf..Very Very lazy crew never moving an inch to try to help you. Been there for Fire place logs,pants,jackets,all type of merchandise and they do not ever restock..Horrible. We would go back weekly for a month and not once did they have stock of what we inquiried about weekly for 2-3 weeks. In theory it should be a great store if they did inventory even monthly. When he tried to log onto the register, he was having some problems doing so, called someone on his phone and then walked off, leaving us standing there. No words. After quite some time had passed, the line we were originally in got shorter and shorter, and there we were, still waiting. We asked the other cashier if the dude was coming back, and all he said was yes, and kept ringing the other line up until there was only one customer left in it... 10 minutes later. I'm usually not even THAT patient, but I was done waiting. We gave it one more minute, then loudly gave our best Curly Bill impression... "well,... Bye!" And walked right out of there. This is the worst store.. I have read a few of the one star reviews here and they are very close to the type of service I have received.. This is the third time I ordered online and the third time they did not have everything they claimed to have in stock, I paid for what I ordered and about three hours later, after they charged my bank account for a third time, I have received an email stating some items were canceled because they did not have them in stock, so I spoke over the phone with the person processing my order, she said, rudely, don't worry we will adjust the payment, which they did, and then charged a second time for the canceled items on the order so I was actually charged twice. Upon calling the store they were very rude and gave me a second number to call. Calling that number They claimed they refunded the money right then and there, they claimed that they would send me an email which they did not, so I am now out $95... If you can avoid this store, everything that I was going to buy there they have it at another store, which I will now be buying from. The store does not have the items in stock that they claim to have when you go online and search. And when you try and talk to someone, they are very rude. read more

The Chicks sold at Tractor Supply Company are not vaccinated for the very contagious Marek's disease despite what they might tell you! We lost our beloved pets both a 6-year-old and a 7-month-old to Marek's according to the necropsy done at UCDavis on each of them individually! In addition, when asked about how they sold us a rooster for an identified hen chick, all the manager would say was an insincere sorry. I am beyond heartbroken ! What do I do about the four sweetest girls ever who have been exposed and left behind? I have been living in suburbia San Diego all my life. These last few years, I have been working on getting a small farm in Boulevard, CA. going. Owning a few acres, does not mean you have all the answers. Every time I go into Tractor Supply, I receive help with a new problem or project. Everyone is helpful and knowledgeable. With help from Tractor Supply, I am now raising Chickens, and in the Spring, pigs. The help they have given me from setting up chicken coops, feeding them and even what to do with the clean-up, going into my mulch pile has been great. I was just in buying the fencing to set-up a pig pen area. I would recommend Tractor Supply to anyone. Also was able to get some Christmas shopping done. read more

I recently purchaced a tractor from this store. ( ElCajon Old 80) First off it was advertised for $3300+-. I called the store manager prior to heading to the store and was assured the price was valid. Upon purchase I was charged $3,600 +-. I was told it was a "CA" model therefore ad was not correct. No where did it say "CA" model exempt. I took it home and the tractor was making a metal to metal noise so I returned it promptly. I wanted another one and was informed non avaliable. CA regulations, I understood. The manager "Marney" made a deal on the defective tractor for $3000 so I re-purchased it. This was on a Sunday late. I came back Monday to pick it up and "rats "had destroyed the seat. Marney the head manager agreed to purchase a new seat for me so I took the tractor, now with a bad seat and a mechanical challenge. We are now three months later and no seat. I call ever week with nothing but lame excuses from the managers as well she is flat rude. When I told her a seat could be purchased on line in three day,, she replied go ahead and YOU can pay for it! What kind of statement is that from a "'manager" I have been in several Tractor Supplys across the United States. Hands down this is the dirtiest, most unorganized store I have been in. Hence the "RATS". I will be returning the tractor for a refund. It's a shame Tractor Supply would employ unskilled managers. Fell in love with this place! I'm not usually in east county and had never heard of TSC until I went on a journey to find affordable Nyjer Seed for my newfound pet Lesser Goldfinches. Who knew I would ever spend nearly $60 on a bag of bird seed... But seriously, when you see how quickly they go through this seed it is much better to buy in bulk getting their Royal Wing 50 lb bag for $58.99 than spending ~$20 on a 10 bag thats only lasting a week. That was my experience with the largest offering from home depot, and I wasn't prepared to spend $100/month feeding birds. it's been nearly a month now and I still have PLENTY of seed left. Utilizing my vacuum sealer really helped back sure it stays fresh :D So thats what brought me into the El Cajon store (they won't ship that item) but then I was won over by a ton of other things. They happened to have a massive sale on their signature dog & cat food brand, 4Health, which is a very quality brand of great ingredients and tons of vitamins as well. It basically includes a multi-vitamin for them as well as omegas - which is great! Then i found that this store carries a large bag of whole raw peanuts. I've had a very difficult time finding that to feed my scrubjay friend. The bag is also lasting me a month. Then I discovered the bale of cedar shavings meant for farm animal bedding and I am using it as mulch for all my plants at home. Cedar deters pests and smells lovely to me! The bale is only $7 and has lasted me to this point still, even after using absolutely everywhere in my garden. I'm in love. In addition to all the cool things I found for my garden and bird hobbies, the staff is super friendly and helpful. When I came in for my pickup order, the employee instantly assisted me with retrieving it and loading on a cart them processing the transaction. I really enjoyed my first experience and will definitely keep returning! read more
