I was sent a salesman to deal with and from there I knew there was no deal to be made. The price I got emailed from him got marked up to $3500 with the salesman. I made an appointment to have an issue with an axle leak looked at on my 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid. I was just over the 60,000 mile manufacturer's warranty, but still wanted them to inspect the issue. I was informed of the $85 diagnostic fee, which I accepted. My intention was to have the issue diagnosed, and then speak with Honda about covering the issue under the manufacturer's 5 year 60,000 mile warranty since the car is just over the warranty. After speaking on the phone with Honda, I was told by the dealer that they did not have a technician available to look at my vehicle, even though I had scheduled an appointment. The service manager was unavailable, so I left a message on his voicemail and expected a call back the next day. It has now been two days, and I have yet to receive a call to discuss my issue. Don't count on this dealer to care about you as a customer. Edit: Received a call to set up an appointment. Will update following resolution. Edit 2: I spoke with the service manager, Jeremy. He was very helpful in resolving the bad service I received earlier this week. The axle shaft seal was replaced by the dealer. Service was completed promptly and professionally. The service associate, Rachel, was very professional, kind, and enthusiastic about her job. Highly recommend her and the service manager. While waiting, I spoke with a sales associate, Dominic. I'm not looking for a new car, but if I was, I would seek him out. Very personable and not pushy. He was very easy to talk to. Upgraded star rating from one to three. Had my initial experience been the same as this one, the dealer would have received five stars. read more

He confirmed that the car I was interested in was still on the lot, and drove the car up to the front so that we could really take a look at it. He went over the specs and details of the car and what I appreciated the most was that he did not talk down in a condescending matter to me about my knowledge or any lackthereof about the car. I knew it was too good to be true as they flipped the switch on me and didnt want to give me the quoted price when I mentioned that I was going to pay cash. Of course there were more tricks under their sleeves--from pushing me to purchase the extended warranty, to having accessories already installed to the car that would force you to purchase them and many other BS lies they tried to feed me. Hubby & I decided it was time for a change & on New Years Day, we lugged our two kids to Tracy Honda for an Acura MDX advertised online. The lot wasn't very busy - actually nice & empty, save for a few other customers. Parking was easy & we were welcomed quickly. It's always a plus to know what you want & we let them know which car we were eyeing - Steve was quick to take us over & then left to get the keys for a test drive. I really appreciated Steve's no pressure attitude. People, trust me when I say this: you will LOVE Steve Brent. Ask for Steve! During the normally boring negotiations, hubby & I found that the sales team did care about our satisfaction: evident with their flexibility & consideration of our down payment (an older model MDX). Even after we received our final APR, their enthusiasm was genuine & we couldn't be happier! We were very impressed with the service from Todd (he's cooler than a polar bears toenails). Ask for Todd! The building offered several customer amenities: for the grown-ups: leather seating around a moderately sized flat screen, for little ones: a modest but enclosed children's play area, and for anyone who enjoys lattes and/or hot cocoa, free self-serve hot beverages. ***UPDATE*** The owner responded to this post and offered to reapply Cilajet on on my vehicle at no cost. While the offer is appreciated, I'm over it at this point. However I did add 2 extra s for the gracious response. I purchased a paint protection plan called Cilajet when I bought a used car from this dealership in 2015. It was pricey ($1495) but I was told it could be reapplied at no cost in 5 years. Five years have past, so I call to schedule an appointment. First I'm told they are unable to find a record of the purchase because they have a new system. I'm asked if I have a copy of my bill of sale. Luckily I did, but honestly how many people hold on to paperwork that old? You'd think old system information would've been transferred to the new but I digress. I'm then told there is no reapplication after 5 years. I called Cilajet and was told because the car was purchased used, there is no reapplication. There is no way in hell I would've purchased Cilajet for $1495 as a one time application. So I was basically mislead in order to make a sale which is disheartening to say the least. I'm looking for an SUV and had planned on going here - not anymore. I will set foot in this place again. I'd rather drive to the Bay Area. No need for a cookie cutter reply cause I don't want to hear it. Just do better. read more

So I went into Honda today looking to purchase a 2017 Honda Civic Si and trade my car in as well. I didn't have super high expectations going in. I never seem to have good luck at car dealerships. I walked around the lot for about 10 minutes before walking inside to find someone to help me. A sales person walked right by me when I arrived, and while he was helping someone he should have told me someone would be with me shortly and got someone to help as he was heading inside. Nothing new to me but whatever. The guy who ended up helping me was nice. His name was Kevin I believe. Seemed somewhat knowledgeable about the car but nothing he said was any news to me. I asked him questions to engage him in conversation. Looking back now it was a waste of energy. The trade in process was fairly simple. I got a quote that was super low because obviously they need to make a dollar as well. I'm okay with that. What I'm not okay with is how this whole situation ended. When I found out how little they were going to give me for the car I was on the fence. I was not trying to to spend a ton on a Honda just because my piece of crap car didn't hold its value. So when I told Kevin I needed to think about it he left to "get my keys and registration". I never saw him again. Now out comes his sales consultants or something like that. He was a taller Indian guy, I don't remember his name, which is ironic because when I arrived I heard him telling his customer his name is hard to forget. I guess that was a lie. First of all, the car I was looking at is a 2017 meaning it's 1 model year old. The car has been sitting on the lot for over 50 days. It was dirty as hell and had 6 miles on it. For all I know the tires are cracking and will need to be replaced. But that's not the point. So obviously the car wasn't moving and nobody was interested in it. That should be a pretty good indicator that they need to do something to move the car in preparation for 2018 cars. NOPE. 2nd sales guy basically drew up a finance option that was me paying Full MSRP + the entire difference between what I owe on the car and what they were offering. It wasn't really the price that pissed me off it was the way the guy spoke to me. Who the hell teaches these sales people that being condescending is how to make a sale? Was he trying to intimidate me into buying the car? You're selling a car not a slice of cheese you idiot. Don't talk down to people. It's fucking degrading. People like him are absolutely useless in sales and it's why people hate the car buying experience. Maybe one day this whole process will be taken online and make dealerships like this obsolete. Maybe Amazon will think of something. Anyways, the point is, Honda should really teach their sales people better sales techniques or find better sales people. read more

Not going to lie I thought helping my sister getting the 2020 EX Civic hatch was going to be in and out here at Tracy Honda. But man I was wrong and was there from 11-3. Before I tell you my review I want to say James and Ana was great with all the email I have with James and the in person talk with Ana. So I bought couple cars last few yrs and help friends with getting new car over the yrs. The best way most of them time is to get eprice online and see what is the best and a lot of dealer will also match it so you don't have to drive far. For me Tracy was about an hour and 15 min away but James told me he will match any price I have even the 2019 if I find any. So this was a no brainier to drive a little to get the price I want on a 2020. Everything was great when we got there Ana help us with the car and letting my sister pick the color she want. The only hiccup was when we talk about price because it wasn't what we talk about cause they put over 1k of accessories on the car that I don't ever care for and another 1k for some other doc fees that I never seen before. Also side note my dad has the final say because this was my sister graduation gift for getting her master. After an hour or so of talking I decide to leave and walk but Ana and James wouldn't let me go so I told them straight up that this price is not what we talk about and I don't care about the accessories and extra stuff and my dad was on the phone with another dealer that he knows and I could get about $1200 cheaper. So they came back with one last price and it was great price because it beat my dad dealer. My dad and sister agree and we sign the paper and seal it and my sister got a 2020 Civic EX Hatch Sonic Gray. I would like to thank James and Ana for doing everything to make me stay and happy. Also they have great customer service because 95% of the time we go back and forth more then twice I am walking. I hate the old school way of going back and forth a lot. Also tip for Tracy Honda I don't think it is a good idea to have 90% of your civic hatch to have an extra 1k of accessories. But I think this dealer is known for add on accessories because every car I look 1 in 5 have something extra. Also for James and the GM sell me your type r at MSRP without 10k mark up and we might have a deal and Ill buy the car. Haha read more

While he was very charming and suckered me into buying the car... he didn't do a good job explaining that the terms of my contract could change weeks later. The only thing he remembered to tell me was to write him a 5 star review and boy am I glad that I waited. What can one say after feeling as if he has met god himself!! If you plan on buying a car from Tracy Honda look no further than Geo the sales deity of that establishment. I can't say for sure but I thought at first he was actually floating a few inches above the ground as he first introduced himself. He was extremely knowledgeable about the used Yugo I first looked at. It was a screaming deal at "you tow it and you can have it" but Geo wisely informed me that your about as likely to find parts for a Yugo as Trump is at saying polite things about his opponents. So we moved on to a beautiful lowered Cadillac with gold rims and as I was about to step in Geo kindly warned me that isn't a car for sale and the dude that just went inside was an opposing looking gent. At last, he directed me to a perfect color inside and out 2015 Acura TLX. We took it for a spin and along the way Geo read off the features from memory like one of those 13 year old spelling bee wizards on TV spelling the word appoggiatura..... Geo of course would tell you that it means an embellishing note or tone preceding an essential melodic note or tone and usually written as a note of smaller size. Anyway, after we stopped 4 times because he kept insisting to stop the car to help old ladies across the street we got back and had a reasonable and fair negotiation. I basically traded in a drivable version of that broken down Yugo next to the dumpster in back I mentioned before and they gave me a palatable trade in price and I had done my homework on Kelley Blue Book and knew the pirce for the TLX was excellent. When I left I can't say for sure but I thought I saw a tear of happiness rolling down Geo's cheek. Much like the most interesting man in the world.... I don't suggest selling your car to Tracy Honda - they won't give you how much your car is worth (at the moment) and the salesman I spoke with was rude. I highly suggest you check out Carvana - they gave me $2k-$3k MORE than what Tracy Honda was estimating! I was looking to sell my car since I rarely drive it anymore and used cars are selling for a lot more right now. I got a quote from Carvana but figured I would check out Tracy Honda to see if I could sell it locally instead. I called to see if they were able to offer me a quote over the phone. The salesman asked how much I was looking to sell it for and I explained I was looking for around $9k as another company was offering $9k, but if I could sell it locally I'd rather do that. After giving the salesman my car's information he said I needed to come in for them to submit an appraisal. I asked again if he would be able to give me an estimate before I came in (I have a newborn at home and would need to find a babysitter) and he said Kelly Blue Book said my car was worth $6-7k. He kept asking if I had the other offer of $9k in writing (which I did) as he didn't believe a company would really offer that much for my car. I shared that since there is a global car part shortage at the moment and cars are selling for a lot more than usual and I don't believe KBB is up to date and reflects that. He then started to get upset saying how my car isn't even worth $9k and that is how much they would sell it for at the dealership and repeated multiple times that they would have to take it into the shop and put money into it and if a company was actually offering $9k it has to be in mint condition (which it is not but it is in good condition with minor scratches and dents on the exterior). Carvana came the next day and bought my car for $9k without question and without attitude. The process was extremely easy, I did everything online within 20 min and it took less than 5 minutes when the agent at Carvana arrived to do the sale. I also received my payment in my bank account from the time I walked up from the driveway into my home. read more
