Their food is good but their service has gotten much worse than our previous experiences. I'm not sure if it was the owner but we asked for spices and she said they charge 50 cents or a tea spoon amount of pepper flakes. Based on previous experiences they would bring out a little carrier which had different spices and stuff not sure what happened there but it was very uncalled for. In addition, our waitress was extremely cold and had a displeasing attitude. The girl that wasn't our waitress had a very positive and beautiful attitude, one which belongs within customer service, especially at a restaurant. To top this all off I asked for a Thai tea with zero ice and when it came I thought to myself this looks less than what I would get in a to go cup so I requested a to go cup and to my surprise it was much less. Mind you I took one sip and also requested some ice which made it look more than it actually was. I get that inflation is bad but this complaint is not about prices its about service and I've noticed when I ask for no ice they usually have a salty attitude. I have become more and more disheartened by the quality of service and food here. It makes me sad, really. Just today I picked up an order for something that was missing from my previous order as I had a credit. The service provided upon pick up was just, well, rude. When I asked if I could sit to have my lunch versus take away, the server said sure. When I asked for silverware, she told me it was in my takeout bag. Great. A flimsy, plastic fork. When I said I needed silverware, she began to make an excuse. I said thank you, never mind, I needed silverware not plastic. I'll go back home, thanks. No attempt was made to correct herself. I usually go to Thai Cafe but they happened to be closed this weekend when I was downtown so I tried Tracy Thai and I must say it was really nice. I may just end up splitting my time between the two now. The decor is a little dated but I really like how open the restaurant is. It wasn't too busy and we were seated right away. Normally chairs with arms worry me because I am a larger person but they were a nice fit. I ordered the Oriental Chicken Salad and a Stella Artois. The people I was with tried a few appetizers that I sampled, the yams and also the angel wings. The angel wings were interesting and just tasted like chicken dumplings to me but the had a nice chili ginger sauce that added a kick. The yams were plain and not what we were used to but still 3/5 easily. My salad was delicious! Fresh and tangy! My only complaint was that the chicken was warm and most Thai salads serve with cold chicken. The warm chicken was slightly off-putting but I still enjoyed my meal. The person I was with who had the Pad Thai said it was disappointing and unexceptional. The other person ordered the green curry with rice and said it was 4/5 but had a strong mint/cilantro taste they weren't used to. Craving this cuisine right now so thought I'd post about dinner here earlier this week. Arrived just after opening, immediately greeted upon entering then seated right away. Nice and cool inside on a hot day. Cool and comfortable. My amateur pics don't do these dishes justice. Appetizers were Angel Wings; crispy crunchy outside and filled with a mix of chicken and noodles, bones removed. Crispy shrimp rolls surpassed my expectation. Light batter but filled with shrimp flavor. Forced myself to slow down because the main dishes were amazing. Crab and prawn fried rice was light and fluffy and a perfect compliment to the chicken curry. I wanted a lighter sweeter curry so the yellow curry did the trick. Top it off with the chicken pad Thai and dinner was served! Pad Thai was a perfect balance of sweet & a little sour and a savory finish. I feel satiated after writing all this. HA! Pretty dang good! I went with the green curry with chicken. It was great but I definitely should have let it cool off before diving in! Always a go to spot. Especially today on a Saturday. Other Thai restaurants were closed at 3 and reopens at 5. It was 2:50 and we were looking for a Thai spot and this came through. Dad loves the roti with the red curry sauce for appetizers. And today we tried the crying tiger steak which was cooked medium rare and was really good. Then got some Pad See Ew which was really good. Along with crab and prawn fried rice. Prawns were small like shrimp but still really good. And also had the coconut milk soup which was also sweeter than the hot and spicy Tom yum we usually get. I have been here once before many years ago and went again last night with two friends. I ordered the pumpkin curry and HOLY MOLY it was delicious. The flavor was so yummy. I have never had it before and glad I tried it! My friend ordered chicken satay appetizer and the peanut sauce is one of my favorite things hands down. The chicken was also cooked nicely and juicy. We were greeted as soon as we came in and taken to a table right away. Everyone welcomed us and smiled at us, our server was a nice young man who was very friendly and checked on us often. Been sick from food poisoning. So was craving to eat meat since I haven't eaten for almost a week. Family decided to go here. Service was great. That's why there's 2 Stars. I love duck, but hesitated if it's going to be fresh. Ordered the Crispy Duck anyhoo. My taste buds still not at par, but it didn't taste right and the look of it didn't look right, but I ate a couple pieces plus the fried rice and tofu dishes plus the ice coffee to wake me up..!! I took my food to go so to eat it later when I'm feeling it and with better lighting. I took bites of both legs, and behold proved myself right of my doubts. Both legs ARE DIFFERENT..!! One truly is duck and the other chicken.. PLEASE TELL ME THAT I AM WRONG..!! They are both quite different.. The pieces that I ate at the restaurant was quite a bit a "healthy" piece.. Even though it's supposed to be crispy, the skin is thin like when you fry chicken breast with skin. Duck meat with their skin are not like that. The color of these 2 leg pieces once bitten are different and the texture are different too. I have the picture attached. I feel sad that the restaurant feel they can do this to their customers thinking that we cannot tell what a duck and chicken taste nor look like.. A gem in Tracy!! My family and I just moved to tracy and been asking people where are good places to eat especially sushi and thai food. We had been downtown but most places have been shut down so didn't really pay attn. To the gem.. A random neighbor had suggested Tracy Thai and OMG!!! this food is everything, the staff is amazing and we got to meet the owner and he was super nice and friendly. I loved the fresh spring rolls. In fact, they were some of the freshest and best tasting I've ever had. Bravo. But your " Chinese Chicken Salad " was an epic fail. Honestly. The cucumbers had been left in water for so long they were no longer crunchy. And what did you do to the chicken itself? It came dripping off the chicken meat like it had been dipped in a mud bath. Not pleasant to look it and the sauce was not what we were looking for at all. Huge disappointment. My wife and I tried a few bites and literally threw the rest away when we arrived at our destination. I am a huge fan of Thai food and was so hopeful after eating the spring rolls...but wow...$9.99 for a lunch special of chicken salad which was inedible. Asked what she recommended and she suggested the Mango Curry! I love mangoes being Filipina! so I knew this was gonna be the right one for me. I'm not even done with my meal and felt I HAD to write a review because the Mango Curry is bomb!!! So delish!! It has plenty of chicken, tons of REAL-BIG-ASS shrimp, sweet mango, broccoli, baby corn, bell peppers. Will be coming back! Not to mention it took less than 10 minutes to be ready! CONS: QUICK - now normally this would be a pro, but when your food comes out in less than 5 minutes it is concerning. Hard to believe they could make it that fast without having a lot premade and that's exactly how it tasted, did not taste fresh and I would definitely believe if it had been premade and reheated. PORTION SIZE - the size was not small, but it was not large. We are two people ordering Large soup, 2 full dishes (Kra Prow chicken, Garlic Pork), and pineapple fried rice. I thought we would have left overs, but there was barely any food left. PINEAPPLE FRIED RICE - they use lots of curry powder, in my opinion too much, it didn't taste fresh it tasted very generic in flavor. Overall, I would only go here again for the Soup. We came here for lunch. Our previous experiences have been good. We thought we'd give this place another try. We came in around 3 PM. As the restaurant is pretty empty the host or server looked at her coworker looked back at us and rolled her eyes as if they didn't want to deal with another customer. Made us feel very unwelcome but it wasn't such a big deal as we were taking food to go. Following that, as my partner is ordering their food, the host interrupts my partner and was talking over her as she tried to order her food. This is easily one of my favorite restaurants in the city the and one that I would recommend to anyone for a good meal that is quick and fresh. I have visited for both lunch and dinner, and usually there is no wait at all. You are quickly seated and you can order very quickly from the friendly waitstaff. Dishes that I have tried here include the Pad Thai, Tom Yum Koong soup, and my current favorite of Kee Mow Beef. The Pad Thai is pretty much what you would expect from the flavors of the dish and was decent, but I prefer to have a bit more flavor found in other dishes. The Tom Yum soup comes in a flame lit metal soup container (I can't think of the name) and the waitstaff will serve you for your first portion, which is a nice touch. It has plenty of mushrooms and shrimp and is always a satisfying starting course. The Kee Mow Beef is definitely my favorite dish here because it is fresh, has vibrant flavors, and is always consistent in its execution here. I enjoy the aroma and flavor of the Thai basil and if you are a fan of Chinese chow fun, and enjoy basil, this is definitely something you should try. It's always a satisfying meal and I always leave wanting more. Perhaps a larger portion could help, but that could be just me craving more of what I enjoy here. I cannot speak for the other items on the menu as I have not tried most of it, but the items that I have tried have been good and the restaurant has always been consistent with its food and friendliness.
