I love Trader Joe's for packing in a nice variety of products at great prices within a relatively small space. Cheap bear and cheap wine. Super-friendly clerks. Nice variety of eggs. When I'm poor one week, I'll go with the conventional, grade AA. When I'm flush, it's cage-free organic all the way. Steel-cut oats are so good and Trader Joe's carries them cheap. I go to the stores in Emeryville and Rockridge more often, but this store has a special place in my heart for doing a price adjustment with just my receipt a day after I bought the item. And it wasn't like the bosses in the money cage were saying "Okay, we're too busy to spend time with this. Here's your $3." They took a look at the receipt and pulled $3 from the register and even managed an apology for the error. Decent fellas in that money cage. I have always loved Trader Joe's. There are so many products that I am fond of and continue to purchase, things is, I don't have the time to list them right now, because I am catching up on my check-ins. I will say (type this), prices are always great, customer service is exceptional and the cookie butter is my new addiction. This is my favorite TJ's to shop at. It's a good size location, with a great variety of goodies to buy. The staff is friendly and efficient. There is plenty of parking. I've gone to the one on Oak Grove and in WC, but luckily this is the one closest to me. WC has a nightmare for a parking lot and it, along with Oak Grove, just don't have everything this lcoation has. read more

I relocated from the East Coast and strangely enough I have never liked T. Joe's . Maybe it was the area where i was or God knows what. Ever since I have relocated here in Walnut Creek I totally fell in love with T. Joe's. It is not as expensive as I always thought it was going to be. Prices are affordable . The employees extremely courteous, and never had any problems with any of them. Even if with some items there isn't much selection, I just love this store. I will go to Safeway only if there are some items that I can't find at Trader Joe's, and that one is the very last resort of mine since the store is exaggeratedly overprice . Forget Nob Hill....went there a few times to give it a chance , but something is putting me off. Cant quite point my fingers on it....but something just not attracting me to that store. I really like this Trader Joe's because I usually don't have trouble finding parking, even on a weekend. Unlike other Trader Joe's I've been to, I don't have to deal with long lines...I usually can get in and out of there in about 15 minutes. I love this Trader Joe's because there's always parking, the people are friendly, the lines are never too long, and they're always pretty well stocked as long as you don't go on a Saturday afternoon. I generally do all my grocery shopping at TJ's, minus a few things that I still need to pick up at Safeway. I discovered the joy of Greek style yogurt with berries here at TJ's, and every week, I leave with something new to try (and usually end up loving it.) Their dried fruit, nut, and trail mix selection is awesome, and their cereal selection is pretty decent too. Call me a nerd, but I look forward to my weekly grocery trips to Trader Joes. read more

I felt like some kind of hippie the first time I came here. But now, I've found that everything from eggs to milk to bread are not only cheaper, but are of better quality than Lucky or Safeway. Simply put it, one of the best Trader Joe's I have ever been to. The staff is fun and friendly and I always have a blast going in. It is also nicely organized. I know some of the staff too as they do they best to help satisfy a customer's need. Okay...I am kinda cheating as I used to work at this location but its True. Simply put it, when I go back and visit from time to time (since I am now at a different location because of college), its the same smiling faces which I miss working with. I definitely recommend The Frozen Chimichuri salmon for those seafood lovers, Just don't over cook it or you will have Salmon Jerky. Our Crab Meat in a Can? Cheaper and bigger then Costco's Kirkland "bulk" one. And for Under a buck, you can get 5 banana's. AMAZING! At work a need a lunch? Not feeling like BK or McDonalds? Try our "ready to eat" section. Filled with great salads and sandwiches. Microwave? Sure! We have products that you can take into the office and nuke. I recommend the Mushroom Torteloni with Asparagus, and absolute must try/have! The problems with this place include that it gets VERY busy, the checkers can be a little.. quirky, you could say, and this place is impulse buy heaven. Love me some TJs! Love Trader Joe's because they are affordable, easy to get in and out, and the staff at this Concord location is SUPER helpful. They have helped me offer suggestions - more vegan options please. They have saved boxes for me so that I could use them when I moved. Awesome. They have allowed me to return things very easily - no questions asked. They have helped me learn about GMOs at Trader Joes (according to their website, any "Trader Joes" labeled food does not contain GMOs.) The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars, is that I have noticed that often TJ produce is not always the freshest. So one has to really watch that when buying their produce. read more

I LOVE MY TJ'S!!!! I love everything that i get there!! I love their turkey tenders. So easy to cook! they have great frozen fried rice. My family loves their chocolate covered bananas & juice bars. you can get a 4 pk of choc covered frozen bananas for $2 I always try & get something new when i go. They have the best choc covered chili mangos. They have a GREAT selection of nuts & trail mixes. they also have freeze dried fruit~I love the bananas & strawberries. This is the Trader Joe's I frequent the most. I love this place, I just wish it was a tad bit closer to where I was living. This place has almost everything you will need for a delicious and nutritious meal(s). Need organic [insert product here]? They most likely have it! The staff is friendly, courteous, and will in general go out of their way to help you find something or recommend products that will fit your needs. I do believe that another reviewer hit the nail on the head by stating they can be an odd bunch at times. Which is fine by me, they are my kind of people hehe! Prices at Trader Joes, as I am sure most people are aware of, vary depending on what your are trying to buy. Some things are quite expensive and make you wince at the checkout stand. However, thats not be to said that you can really get a good bang for your buck here. In fact I would go as far to say as Trader Joe's can be less expensive than any other large food chain out there with a far healthier selection of products. There is two drawback's that I can think off the top of my head for this place, however. The lack of a decent produce section and the crowds. There are tons of people here on the average day and parking can be a nightmare at times. read more

This Trader Joe's is as great as the one in Lafayette where I live. Normally I shop close to home after work but I go into the Concord location during the work day to pick up goodies for the office or a ready made salad, or sushi, or wrap for my lunch. Yesterday we had a little office party so I ran in for some supplies. These guys are so fantastic! Not only do they offer to walk you out after checking your groceries, one even offered to walk me to my office (across the street) to help carry some party goods!!! Go to Trader Joe's Concord. My go to place if I want something quick and healthy. I usually go in for one thing and always wind up buying a lot of stuff. I call it my "Target effect". I love their Juice selection, Fruit and Produce, and Trail mixes. The people are always Friendly and are very Helpful. Parking is a little tight, but if you park by Ashley Furniture, or the Starbreezies, you'll be fine. read more

How can you go wrong with Trader Joe's? Even when they're super crowded and selling out of products, all their reps are more than willing to help you. I love Trader Joe's and have never had an issue or problem with anyone. I love that you can return, try and return products you don't like. Our check out guy was so enthusiastic and friendly! Why does that matter? Because I was shopping with a 4 year old and a baby, that's why. Plus, the 4yr old was so excited to have found Joe-Joe (this was my first time here, and maybe they do this at other locations, but I don't remember ever seeing an empty bird cage and a sign with a photo of a red, plush parrot, asking for you to help find him and tell your cashier if you do, and I've been to the El Cerrito, Emeryville, and Hadley (that's in Massachusetts) stores... Will look harder next time) that it was so great to have the positive reaction from the cashier about it. The lollipop prize didn't hurt, either :) Another thing I'll say that I appreciate is that another employee called me out on letting my kid hang on the side of the cart as it is a tipping hazard. Now, I was totally aware of this and had a deathgrip on the handlebar, never letting go unless telling my kid to get off first, but I really liked the fact that they seemingly are into Safety First, or whatever. Kid was disappointed he could no longer hitchhike, but he found the TJ's version of Pirate's Booty immediately after - problem solved!!! Will have to come back again soon on a rainy day to get my yummy food shopping fix in, as well as (hopefully!) some hide-and-seek a la parrot. read more

One of the cleaner TJ locations I've been to. Friendly staff, great parking, and well organized. That said, this location didn't have as wide of a selection as the one I normally go to. They have a lot of open space at the end, so I'm sure that they can expand their selection a little! read more

This is my favorite TJ's in my area. I have a choice of a few others but I like that this one is decent in size and isn't ever too ridiculously busy when I go there. The parking lot isn't perfect but it's a great place to go for quality food. I like that it's not too far from the freeway and there's not too much traffic in the area as compared to the other location on Treat and Oak Grove. I haven't had any bad experiences and will continue to shop here. I would encourage anyone looking for quality food at good price to come here. There are many items that I have price checked elsewhere and TJ's is still cheaper. read more

Customer service is spot on, they always have what I need on hand, the store is clean, and there's plenty of parking. I also like the set up of this store. I haven't been to this store for a while... Always liked it because of the quality of the products and affordability. I came back 2days ago (8/27/11) with my partner and she LOVED it! Hands down with the staff (the woman that helped us pick our 2-6packs Trader Joe's brand and San Miguel dark & our awesome cashier) they were both awesome! Heard a few of the other staff having fun while stocking some produce and other products too, laughing (not rude or loud) and smiling...to me, this simply looks like a very happy-diversed staff who enjoys their job. But, honestly, you just can't beat the two ladies who helped us, they had a very welcoming smile, positive and very professional approach and had high quality of customer service! My partner said, "let's start coming here more often..." I Loved Trader Joe's then, and I love them even more now that my partner is on board! Another happy customers...that's what matters! Easy parking, ease of store layout, some variety in choices, and mostly prices are good. Healthy choices do not have to cost more. Trader Joe's has lots of store brand goods that are both healthy and inexpensive. Fresh fruits and premade lunch foods are always a go to section. read more

I really love this store. They have great prices, great quality food, and really nice customer service. It's always a joy to shop here, although it does get really crowded at times. I love their pre-made salads. The veggie burgers are awesome, as well. I like many of their frozen foods, too, including their mixed vegetables and red potatoes with veggies. I also love their flower selection and frequently buy flowers here. There's so much variety and most of the time, everything is fresh and of good quality. The only thing I really dislike is that they have those "kiddy carts" (miniature shopping carts for kids) here. This store (and most Trader Joe's, for that matter) is just too small for these. The aisles are small and crowded enough with regular shoppers with normal carts and employees stocking shelves. I frequently see unsupervised kids messing around on them, racing them down aisles and just plain blocking high-traffic areas. I have no idea whose brilliant idea it was to give the green light to these, but it was a terrible idea, logistically-speaking. Kids have SO many awesome places to play and Trader Joe's should not be one of them. It's shopping time for adults, not a playground. Other than that annoyance, I really do love their stores and food selection. read more

There is no better place to shop. As one of the pickiest people on the planet when it comes to what I put in my body, TJ's always impresses me. They offer variety, consistency & their staff is one of a kind. I tried shopping the Walnut Creek location for awhile, but it's so stuffy & the parking lot is hell on earth. Of course everybody loves TJs. Some of my favorites include their great selection of breads, nuts, beers & wines, frozen meats & fish, juices, and their nut butters. They have a small selection of bath & skin products which are ok, but for the super cheap prices they are great, and good for staples. Their tp is cheaper than anywhere else I've found. Also, it must be mentioned that they have a Trader Joe's brand beer (they have a dark and a light--I've only tried the dark) that is like $4.50 for a 6 pack, and it's actually decent! Hard to find an enjoyable dark beer for a price like that. Produce selection and quality is not great. They use a ton of excess packaging and not a wide selection. I usually go there like once or twice a month as what TJs is really great at is their dry and frozen foods. Some city stores are parking nightmares but this location seems easily accessible which makes the whole experience WAY better. read more

OMG I was beat tonight. Commuted from San Leandro with my single mom Payless shoe store shoes that were killing me. Had to shop for yummy fast food for camping and Theresa Green was amazing. She helped me figure out which shampoo I should buy; and then went the extra mile to retrieve water in the back as she could tell I only wanted the cheaper capped water, without me sayin. They are a great store. I'd recommend not going here on a Monday at 2:00 pm. LOTS of people. Foods always good and I love the top quality of the place. I also find myself comfortable enough to go out of my comfort zone and try new stuff here. I absolutely love the layout of the store. I wish they had a few more frozen dinner options and their prices are a tad steep but granted it is quality stuff. It's a trade off for me. Its nice to step away from Safeway every now again. Their cerial and juice here is way better than Safeway in my opinion. I like a lot of their products but with limited items I sometimes don't feel like I got all that I wanted. read more

One of the things I look forward to each time I come home to visit...shopping at Trader Joe's! The price is right, the selection is pretty good (of course they don't carry everything you may be looking for but with what they do carry...can't beat it!), and service is awesome. I usually stray away from the veggies and fruit unless they are the conveniently prechopped on the go type of stuff, just because I like to see if I can find a better deal elsewhere or hit up a farmers market. Also I don't really like the prepackaged fresh vegetables...what if I want only one rather than four? It would be wrong to open up the package and leave the rest, although I have been tempted to do just that. I love the variety of prepackaged foods such as the assortment of frozen foods and ready made meals which come in handy when I want to grab a quick lunch or pack a meal for later on in the day. I know it's a lot better to make your own stuff and try to stay away from processed foods, but sometimes convenience wins and I just don't have time to make something. What goes better with a nice lunch or dinner...maybe a glass of wine or mixed cocktail? I like the selection of alcohol at Trader Joe's and the price is reasonable. If only there was a Trader Joe's out in Houston...maybe one day!!! read more

What can I say about Trader Joe's except it is one of my favorite places to go to for wholesome organic food. Today I went there with my cousin to buy some ingredients for his dog (yes the dog eats better than the family does) and what amazed me the most was the superb customer service that were on displayed by everyone there. During checkout, the cashier noticed a cracked egg, although slight as it may be, he signal for his co-worker to bring up a new dozen that weren't cracked. What made me want to come back to Trader Joe's in the future was that they did it with a smile on their faces and were very glad to make our experience there a very enjoyable one. read more
