Had the most awful experience from my visit today. I understand if you have a bad day or so, but bringing it to work where you work in customer service is NOT the place to bring that too. I love my local Trader Joe's. I make sure the Oak Grove Road TJ's is the one I always go to no matter what because they are so nice to you. I was proved wrong today by SHIRLEY. No "hi, how are you doing?", which I can understand, but again you work in customer service and being there means showing you care. Do not come to work with attitude and above all else showing it in front of paying customers. And DO NOT stick my eggs at the bottom of my bag, when I already left it out by my side to carry out. No small talk? I get it, fine, no problem. But do not show me you are rude AF and do not place my eggs at the bottom of my bag and do not be rude to me when I ask a simple question. I will make sure not to go to her register whatsoever, but I hope you know how you ruined my day, when I just got off of work and was trying to be positive even though I was tired as hell from a long work week. Trader Joe's is by far my favorite grocery chain. They offer interesting and unique options and we almost always come away with something new to try. I wish this location was a little bigger so that they could increase there selection, but it's still a great spot to shop. If you can make it out of the parking lot and avoid all of the douche prius drivers this place isn't too bad. They have a much more diverse selection of food Than typical box grocers, and you'll probably find your organic, vegan, green flavor of the month. The prices are reasonable, I think a lot of people buy into their semi-mom/pop feel that they are successful in selling, but still just as corporate and cut-throat as any Safeway. I really like Trader Joe's, as they have a good selection of interesting food products. Staff is friendly and usually very helpful (that goes for all Trader Joe's). But the worst thing about this chain is how lame many of the CUSTOMERS are. People just stop in the middle on an isle with their cart without any thought, actually leave it, and gawk like a tourist on what is on the shelves, and usually oblivious to anyone surrounding them. Jaw dropping selfish slobs with their screaming kids who care nothing about politeness and being mindful of whom you are blocking while "sight-seeing." So many lamebrains, when in Safeway and Whole Foods, but it's especially irksome at Trader Joe's. Store: Excellent. Some Customers: Clueless Morons. One store complaint. This is the best Trader Joe's in the area! I've been a customer here for nearly 10 years. Even though there are other TJ locations closer to my work, I always try to shop here. So easy to park, very clean store, and well-stocked with all of my favorite items like pizza dough, healthy snacks for my kids, and endless choices of chocolate! I regularly shop at this Trader Joes for all my grocery needs (along with Sprouts). Prices at this location are very competitive & its nice to see that they have separate organic food selection/stand as well. I've shopped at Trader Joes since 2002, starting from a store in sacramento and other places and now at this store and probably will in the future at nearby location. Even though they don't have tons of products compared to other big chains around they have excellent varieties for a quick stop. Of course they have the 2-buck chuk (well now its $2.49)...which is absolute best. The wine is not bad at all we have tried all varieties the store has to offer from groceries to wine, it's all good. They also have little sampling stand that serves excellent items. All of the staff are really helpful both stocking and checkout employees which makes this store stand out even more. The parking lot can be really tricky at times it is tiny for sure, share with a lot of other businesses next door. This is not a big store but they do have more than enough to fulfill your typical grocery needs + wine... My only bad experience (in 1yr of shopping, almost every other day) with the store is with one young rude employee. She couldn't be bothered with a patron standing in the line while she was gossiping with fellow employee another gal complaining and when it s my turn she was snappy. 1 Star loss because of this incident. read more

I probably get 85% of my groceries from the TJs at this location (on my way home), and the one in Lafayette (I work close by). I guess you could say I'm definitely part of the "Cult of the TJ". Where else can you get great food at great prices at a store staffed by happy cool people. There are times when something that I've relied on and liked, suddenly disappears --- forever. I have to start with the disclaimer that I have won the weekly, bring your own bag raffle twice at this location. Walking in here makes me feel like a winner by default. It's your standard TJs in terms of selection, very friendly and helpful employees, and slight parking lot issues. The store seems easier to navigate than some, and the employees always seem to be asking me if I need help while I meander the aisles. I didn't realize I look that lost. Staples include bagged produce (because I am lazy on that front) and vegetarian frozen goods. The few times that I have picked up items that were just horrible or didn't last anywhere near expiration, I have had zero attitude with a refund. I would say initially I didn't really pay much attention to TJ's. Would sometimes go in there when looking for a quick snack. Then I started taking my diet and wallet more serious. I started eating more plant based. And this place had great options. Then when the pandemic started. And Safeway raised prices to take advantage of supply and demand. I decided to come here more. BUT. When I realized how great of a job they did with managing the control of occupancy inside. And offering hand sanitizer at the door. I was very impressed. I work in the medical field. And always pay close attention to sanitizing techniques of businesses. But their ability to manage the covid rules with above expectations is just one reason I enjoy visiting TJ's. The staff you can tell really love going to work. They are very cheerful. Unlike Safeway. They are honestly helpful. Now lets talk about food. In the last year that I have switched to a plant based diet. This place has been a huge help. They have such great products. But my favorite item. Coconut Creamer. Only 5 calories and zero fat. Good taste. I just want to thank Trader Joes for all they are doing. Great example of what a Covid buisness model should look like. And I'd like to thank them for their positive attitudes. I really like Trader Joe's, and when I lived in another state and got paid once a month, the closest one was 45 minutes up the freeway, and I did most of my monthly shopping there. So moving here, I was thrilled at how many there were. So, why do I like them so much? *Affordable organics - produce, meats, dairy, etc. *Great selection - TJ's twists on all the standard stuff, and TJ's unique and creative things. There's always something new, and usually Delicious, to try, and usually your favs are there, too. My cats love and thrive on their house brand canned cat food, and I feel like the good nutrition is there, but for much less money. *Great staff - always friendly, helpful, and they seem relaxed and happy to be there, so a nice atmosphere. *Great quality, and if you don't like a thing - not just if it was damaged or rotten, but didn't like it - they take it back, no questions asked. Down sides to TJs: Dairy...frequently, all that's stocked is 1-3 days from expiration...packaging can be difficult (true anywhere, I guess), and they get me hooked on things and then can't stock them or discontinue them...again, true most places... But really, all things considered, they really are the best of the best. I read some recent reviews of WF...they're good, but I'm sorry...they aren't nicknamed Whole Paycheck for nuttin'...Safeway...*shudders*...Lunardis...a cross between the two. Every wkend we get a case of Charles Shaw white Zin, since there was no case available we asked for a box so we can build the case. We asked the lady in the wine section she was very curt and said I have no box! huh? no box? she said NO! and totally ignored us.... we found a nice guy who built the box for us no questions, when we were in line at the register he approached us and told us to bring our box next time! I get a giggle out of Bay Area folks complaining about how cramped most TJ's locations are. I grew up going to the older TJ's locations in SoCal that make most of the newer Bay Area locations look spacious. Having shopped at TJ's for the past 20 years, I can safely say that their selection continues to improve, although their produce is still kind of lacking. Why review Trader Joe's when they are all the same well because I feel like it that's why. I love to go into trader Joe's Get my Lil coffee walk around try a snack search for interesting Wines. Well that is a given but in this case I give this Trader Joe's a 5 star because yesterday I was Literally fucking melting and instead of the coffee I usually get when I shop ( you know you like some free shit) They had water Ice cold damn water I love them for that. In a dispenser nice and Icy and hella hella good and refreshing. I used to live across the street with and EX from HeLL (everybody has 1 some of us more then 1 but let's not talk about that) Back to the water wow I was parched so I downed a few cups got some Salad and Fruit and went back to melting again in that hot ass Concord sun. Having Trader Joe's across the street from where I live, makes it a quick and easy last stop before I get home. The staff is always very friendly and extremely helpful. I also really like the snacks they give away in the back of the store which are usually delicious. On my last visit they had french onion soup and croutons and it was good. My wife is a fan of the unsweetened black tea which they sell and is good but 50 percent of the time they are out and they only have the other kinds left. read more

Super convenient location. You can do your mail next door at Postal Annex and get your coffee at Peet's, or get your super hero comics on at Flying Colors Comics around the bend in the shopping strip mall. The staff is stellar, service is up there with the best, just like you expect at TJ's, and the offerings are constantly evolving to more variety. Stay healthy, and watch out as TJ's often gets overzealous with their use of dark chocolate on everything and overdose of sugar and sweets. Not a bad thing, just use moderation. The location is bicycle friendly, and a number of the staff ride, too!!! That earns 5 stars in of itself. Coffee station is set up at all hours, so get your drug on! Love Trader Joe's in a lot of the foods that they have in the frozen section... The store is always clean and for the most part... The people that work here are friendly and seem to enjoy their job... Which is nice. Love the fact they carry a 4-pack of artichokes at a reasonable price... I don't really get why people are so nuts about Trader Joes. Yes, it is a grocery store. I do like that they have a lot of stuff you don't see at other stores, but they lack in a lot of the basics, and the amount of food you get in a package is WAY to small. Good luck feeding a family of 4 without using up the entire box of whatever you buy there. Staff is friendly, and the sample bar is cool, but nothing really stands out as something to freak out over. 3 stars is average, so OK TJ's you get a 3. TJs always says prices are great, but I don't see anything special in that department. Trader Joes has become my playground. When I go in the store I head to the very back for their free sample of food and coffee. The coffee they sample is great with soy milk. With my coffee in hand I am ready to hit the store. Today I bought some cliff kid bars, organic olive oil, a Margarita pizza, sparkling water, Dijon mustard, bagels, tomato basil soup, organic vodka shrimp spaghetti sauce, and cage free eggs. My bill was under 25 dollars which is pretty cheap for everything I got. I am sure there were other things I bought but that was all I could remember. I was going to go out for pizza at a restaurant in downtown Walnut Creek but after seeing the cheapest Margarita pizza was $11.50 Trader Joes was calling my name. In Concord today to pick something up. Needed to pick something up at Trader Joe's so thought I'd stop here before our hour long drive home. Trader Joe's is just hella good. Every one of their products that I have had have been superior. Trader Joe's has a commitment to quality that is far beyond any other grocery store I have seen, even Whole Foods. Also, their staff is very friendly and knowledgable, and this goes for not just this store but every Trader Joe's I've been to. This store is a frequent stop for me if I'm looking for Mochi ice cream. They sell boxes of mochi that are restaurant quality, and only $3.50 for a box of 6. So good. Probably not a great snack to get by yourself (I've taken down all six in one sitting before; don't do it), but with a couple of friends it's perfect. read more

Dope grocery store. I don't come here for meat but everything else is legit. Beer and wine election is legit. Produce selection is pretty good. I have noticed that the organic fruit section is smaller :( I head out to PH Market when I can't find what I want here. I love the selection of wines,saki and beer. This is my main Trader Joe's store, although I would say the same things about many of the locations I have been to. The staff is fantastic!! I don't think I have ever come across a rude or unfriendly employee. I always trust that products are fresh and of good quality. They work hard to screen what should and should not be sold. And product selection, so awesome! I probably get about 90% of my sustenance from a TJs store.... My favorite aspect of their business is that nothing is wasted; they donate all of their unsellable foods, plants, and other products to some charitable entity or organization. I will always be a Whole Foods girl at heart, but since this Trader Joe's is conveniently on the way home from work, my visits here have increased lately due to a laziness to drive all the way across town to WF. They have a pretty good energy bar selection, and their Gnu Natural Foods bars are actually 30cents cheaper than Whole Foods, so I come here to stock up. Plus stars for their yummy tomato basil hummus, and spicy soy tortilla chips. Minus star for the creepy employee following me around the store, who asked me three times if I needed help finding anything.
