Always love going to this location, because staff is super friendly and courteous. I had an issue with another customer, last month, giving a staff member a hard time for letting us take her spot at the checkout line when she was getting off her shift. She explained the situation because she felt that she had cut the line (she had not, but saw we were waiting a long time), and this jerk starting yelling at her for insisting on allowing us to take her spot next to checkout. All she did was switch spots in line and she was getting chastised for it. Her manager came over to apologize and handed me a bouquet of flowers :) And today, she recognized me and handed me another bouquet... super thoughtful. I love this place! They're so kind & polite! Most of everything there is well stocked. Whenever you have a question where something is someone will walk you all the way over even if it's clear on the other side. This is a gluten free paradise! Their hummus & the cheese selection is amazing. For any other Celiac/ gluten free people try the whole grain GF bread in the green bag & the Norwegian crisp bread (crackers) both of those items are amazing! Staff here are super friendly. I was approached multiple times to check if I needed a specific item (some of the times I needed were out of stock on the shelves, so the employees checked the back for me). I also felt pretty safe shopping here. The staff did an excellent job at implementing regulations for COVID-19. I saw them a few times giving very friendly reminders to shoppers to lift their mask to cover their nose. Great service. read more

I was just at this location because I was going to the comicbook store around the corner. I just went here to look around. So while I am looking around I go to the bathroom. Well, when I get out there's an employee just standing there staring at me. I felt it was a bit creepy he was just listening to me use the bathroom the entire time I was in there, so I decide to leave the store. The guy follows me all through the store and makes sure to get in front of me as I am leaving. He asks "Did you find everything ok?" I'm like "yeah sure." I ask him if I have done anything wrong, but he just shrugs and murmurs "No." Now I don't know what the issue was. I don't know if they don't like it when people come in to use the bathroom without buying anything or if I used the bathroom for too long. Or if they don't like it when people like me visit their store at all. I just know that I felt like I had committed some crime or something. That's not the sort of feeling I want when I visit any place. read more

I LOVE Trader Joe's -- the merchandise is superior, the prices are reasonable and the staff is really nice. In addition, it's located across Treat Blvd. from where I live, so it's THE place for me to shop for food. In addition, it's near my Pharmacy (in the same building, several stores down) so it's very useful. This is the best Trader Joe's location in the area. It tells you something if I would rather drive out of my way to shop here. They have friendly, knowledgeable employees working at the registers, in customer service, and stocking the shelves. The sampling station has nice treats to snack on while you shop -- and eventually end up many a time, getting what they are featuring : ) The only downside of shopping here is the parking, however, if you're willing to take a few minutes to walk from your car to the store, you can tend to find a spot further back in the lot. read more

Don't get me wrong, I love Trader Joes as a whole. This location, though, is an absolute nightmare to shop at. The aisles are oddly laid out and the registers don't have ample room for customers to line up. Each time I've visited the the check out process has taken at least 15-20 minutes. That's with most of the registers open and staffed. I feel bad giving TJ's such a low rating-they stock the same quality items and their staff are top notch, but I simply can't deal with the chaos of this location. read more

While I don't recommend grocery shopping anywhere on the weekends, this Trader Joe's location makes the weekend rush a bit more tolerable. Though, I still don't understand why all 5 children must accompany mommy to the grocery store. C'mon people... Compared to the downtown Walnut Creek location, the aisles in this store are abnormally wide, the staff are suspiciously perky, and well...it's Trader Joe's, so there's no anxiety about the Whole Paycheck scenario. This Trader Joe's location has the FRIENDLIEST staff ever. They always strike up conversations and seem to really care and seem to really love their job. When I was just walking down the aisles, someone would come up to me and say hi in a sincere warm way as if I've known them for the longest time, and make sure I was finding everything okay. It made me feel welcomed. Their produce is always fresh and their shelves are always stocked. What up East Bay! I have to say that my favorite TJ locations are at Emeryville and Alameda (sorry Concord). That said, this location is INCREDIBLY close to my Concord work office, making it super convenient and healthier for those last-minute munchies. It seems that this location is busier, and has less cashiers available for the heavy customer load. I've had to wait longer here than at any other location, even the express lane takes forever. Parking has never been an issue though, so I don't understand what's going on. read more

I absolutely love Trader Joe's and do 90% of my shopping with them, however, this location is probably my least favorite. This location appears to be slightly smaller than other Joe's, leaving it having more of a crampt feeling ( especially the exterior location with it being in a tiny shopping center with only minimal parking) though they do seem to have the basic selection of items as in all Joe's however, with a slightly smaller wine selection. Service at this location is still above ordinary compared to any large corporate chain such as Safeway and you still experience that humbled, unique, personable feel when coming here just like most Trader Joe's, just a little more of a rushed feel compared to others. Parking can be an absolute pain, especially during school hours ( high school is located just a street down). I just get the since that everyone ( mostly customers) seems to be in a rush , which goes against the care free, relaxed Trader Joe's feel, that you experience at there other locations ( just to me) Other than that, I still do most my shopping here being I now live close by. Miss my other convenient local Trader Joes locations, however, this will do. read more

This is the location that I am usually go for grocery shopping. The customer service overall is very friendly. Except today, when I left from the parking lot, there was a stop and go traffic, by the time I was slowly moved my car and suddenly there was a Trader Joe's employee came from my front passenger comer and tried to walk in front of my car, and I stopped my car immediately but the employee was so mad and she kept yelled at me for nonstop! I didn't hear what she said because my window was closed. I was so surprised for her reaction because she is the one who suddenly tried to walk in front of my car while my car is moving! Trader Joe's is da shit. I love them. You can get the healthy stuff and the not-so-healthy stuff all here, plus lavender scented laundry soap that's not too overpowering. This store seems to be less crowded than the other ones. You can get in there after work, grab dinner, and go home. Here's some stuff on my TJ shopping list: -kiwis -eggplant hummus dip -euro style cream-top yogurt -CLIF bars -Just Chicken -roasted almonds -pistachios -peanut butter filled pretzels (salted) -chocolate covered almonds -pre-cooked brown rice with mushrooms I'm getting hungry. read more

Shop TJ's! This location is close enough to work that I will sometimes get one of their salads for lunch. They usually have one of the two I go with - Pasadena Chicken or Harvest Chicken. The check stands to the right are express, so I usually move towards those, but if it's before the lunch rush, register 1 can b quick too. They know they have workin folk in just for this reason, so they try to get us checked our and moving. They're also good about asking if you have a fork and napkins too. I like have forks accessible on the way out versus buried below the lettuce, like other some of the competitors. What I like least is parking. Parking blows here and it can be slow getting in and out. I blame Chipotle for that. read more

This Trader Joe's location is pretty cool... The service is quite friendly despite the fact that, every time I've been here, it's been insanely busy. We just recently had to "synthesize" an appetizer tray of spanish food, and for the price, we found what we needed here at Trader Joe's: We got some Fire roasted red peppers, manzanilla olives, Basque sheperd's cheese, some manchego, tapenade... whatever... I know it ain't all pure Spanish, but it did a job, and I thank Trader Joe's for it. By the way, give their Marques de Caceres Red Rioja wine a shot.. at $10 a bottle each, it's a great deal! read more

The first time I went to a Trader Joe's was in Portland, OR and I loved it! I finally went this Trader Joe this past weekend. I really liked this store, it was a good sized store and I felt comfortable walking around, not feeling cramped or that I would hit something with my cart. The employees were really friendly and nice. They had a good selection of items here, from their breads, to meat, to crackers and to their vegetables. The only thing that I can think of that would make it better is if they had a bigger selection of produce. The prices were great! I've been to Whole Foods for organic and healthier food options, and I always feel as though I'm paying too much for some things. I know I'll be returning here to get most of my groceries! read more

Things I hate about TJ's are mostly: parking at other locations long check out lines congestion in the aisles I've been shopping at TJ's since the early 90's. The reason I shop here out in suburbia rather than the TJ zoo in Emeryville Close to work ( I can walk- I shit you not) Massive parking lot if I drive No lines No people I like the cheese (altho Cosco has almost as good a selection for half the price but obviously you have to buy a ton more), pasta, soups (Roasted pepper and tomato bisque- amazingly tasty) and ok bread. I'm very happy now that they offer nitrate free meat in the deli section. I find it a good supplement to the local farmer's maket and my csa box. read more

Even though Trader Joe's has it's problems, I'm still giving it 5 stars because for some reason I always feel happy coming here. Pros: - Great prices, especially on organic. I think I spend less $ here than at Safeway - Cool stuff. My favorites include, Greek yogurt, Eggplant Hummus, Larabars and their Popped chips - Friendly employees. Someone ALWAYS asks me if I need any help. Or maybe I just look like a clueless grocery shopper - Nice selection of pre-made salads, sandwiches and other ready to eat stuff Cons: - The produce comes pre-packaged. A lot of times I want 1 zucchini, but they only have them in massive packages of 5+, which can be a problem for a single girl - The meat/fish selection is pretty limited - I don't think you can get everything you need here. Sometimes you just need CHEETOS and MOUNTAIN DEW. Trust me, it's a great combo. - The parking lot at this location can suck sometimes. Similarly, the lines can be long depending on when you do your shopping. read more

Super friendly and helpful staff at this TJ's. It's close to the office so I can slip in and out before/after work for my regular items. The store itself and the mini-mall it resides in is older, but once you get inside, all TJ's look the same. I LOVE TJs! This one is awesome, lots of friendly employees, well stocked shelves, etc. If I don't like something, even if I've opened it, they'll let me return it with no problems. They are losing one star, however, for discontinuing some of my fav things. They rotate products in and out a little too often for my liking. But I think that's a problem with overall TJs and not specifically this particular store. Still, they're losing one star for it. Otherwise... Awesome place to shop! read more
