A must come here for grocery as well as some gift shopping if you are visiting from other place! My friends from Japan enjoyed shopping here and got so many! Love it!

Trader Joe's is always a good spot for groceries and to get items that you don't normally see. I decided to try something new and something that I actually saw advertised on their IG page. It was the tomato feta soup and organic naan crackers. Wow, pleasantly surprised with how good the tomato feta soup taste that I would actually get it every time I go there. It went well with the crackers too. It's nice to eat this when I just need a simple snack to hold me over when the day gets too busy.

This Trader Joe's has friendlier staff than the others. A bit bigger too. Parking is ok but it's a typical joes lot.

Everything is clean, beautifully organized, colorful, and incredibly fun. It's almost like Disneyland of Mexican markets! We loved sampling the tacos and exploring all the different food stalls. We picked up a whole roasted chicken with warm tortillas, salsa, and beans, which made the perfect family meal. Easy, delicious, and no one had to cook. That alone deserves applause. The entire market feels like a fiesta. There is vibrant fresh produce, option of authentic food in different stalls, and churros served hot from the fryer. We also grabbed some carne asada to grill at home to keep the party going! And then there is pretty impressive collection of tequila for the tequila lovers! Mercado González is more than a market. It is a full experience for the whole family, and we will absolutely be back. Come hungry and give yourself plenty of time to explore. Salud!

I've been shopping at this location for about a year and have been a customer of Northgate Markets for several years. Unfortunately, my experiences at this location have become increasingly disappointing. I've encountered raw chicken left on the shelf two or more days past its expiration date, fresh fruit and salsa still being sold after their use-by dates, and produce that was visibly rotten and infested with bugs. These aren't minor issues when it comes to a grocery store--they're basic food-safety and quality concerns. And then there's the customer service. Today, there wasn't a friendly employee in sight, and the customers weren't much better. I'd especially like to thank the grumpy woman on the scooter who apparently tried to run me down three separate times. I assume you were having a bad day, but judging by the atmosphere in this store, it seems like everyone is having a bad day, every day. No one smiles. No one acknowledges customers. No one seems remotely interested in providing even basic courtesy. I understand that people have bad days--I really do--but when the entire experience consistently feels cold, hostile, and unwelcoming, it becomes a pattern rather than an isolated bad day. The cashier couldn't be bothered to say hello back or even make the slightest attempt at being friendly, and the young man bagging my groceries was just as dismissive. I've spent years shopping with Northgate Markets, which makes this especially disappointing. Customers shouldn't walk into a store and feel like they're an inconvenience for simply being there. Today was the final straw for me. There are plenty of other places willing to take my money while treating me--and other customers--with basic courtesy and respect.

The workers were Japanese and everyone I interacted with was super friendly and welcoming. Their sushi, sashimi, and hot foods section were to die for!! They had all kinds of hot meals, skewers, and snacks that you could box up yourself and pay for by the pound. They also had separate sections for onigiri, sashimi, and sushi. I got there a little too early, so I missed out on the onigiri, but the sashimi was incredibly fresh and just melted in my mouth. I also picked up some mochi, and it was sooooo good. It was soft and pillowy instead of being super chewy, and I really wish I had bought more. I can't wait to go back to California just so I can visit Tokyo Central again.

There is also a sushi variety sampler with one of different types of sushi; I reember eel, salmon, tuna, tamago, and ikura, but there is at least two more, all for less than $20. Some items, however, are absolute no's for me (the veggie sushi roll, which tasted like it had been left out for far too long). Make sure to ask the cashier when you check out for utensils/soy sauce! There are microwaves at the dining area. The cashiers are usually nice; but on occasion I don't have a great experience at their check-out area (about 3 of the 7 times I've been here). The store feels safe with 1-2 security personnel in the store at all times. If you decide to visit, make sure not to bring an oversized tote bag or duffel bag as the store will prohibit entry to anyone bringing this into the store. This policy was not in place when I first visited.

I also got some sliced angus beef and sliced pork while I was in the meat area. There was staff refilling the meats and he was super friendly and nice. Ohh and 20% off meats on Fridays! They also had pre-cut Kabocha Squash for $1.99/lb. Wow I loveeee the kabocha squash but I dread cutting it. It's like a vigorous work out cause this squash has a thick skin and I struggle each time. I was sooooo happy it was pre-cut so I can eat to my heart's delight. I also saw the Akai Kitsune Udon noodles on sale for $2.99 so I got a few of those too. All of the ingredients were delicious for our New Years Eve DIY hot pot feast at home. Very quality :) A small market with good deals.
