A must come here for grocery as well as some gift shopping if you are visiting from other place! My friends from Japan enjoyed shopping here and got so many! Love it!

Trader Joe's is always a good spot for groceries and to get items that you don't normally see. I decided to try something new and something that I actually saw advertised on their IG page. It was the tomato feta soup and organic naan crackers. Wow, pleasantly surprised with how good the tomato feta soup taste that I would actually get it every time I go there. It went well with the crackers too. It's nice to eat this when I just need a simple snack to hold me over when the day gets too busy.

This review is to give recognition to EG. Earlier today I called this location in search of a limited item "cold pressed juice" watermelon. To keep things short, my uncle is going through his second round of radiation in Sacramento, and this specific drink is really helping him due to it having zero fiber. My mom also has cancer and will be starting radiation in two weeks. I explained this to EG, and he was so kind when we spoke on the phone. He checked the inventory and said they had some. I asked if it was possible to put some on hold and he didn't even hesitate to say yes. I gave him my husbands info (because I'm currently in NorCal to help my mom while my husband is still home), and before we hung up he gave well wishes. He said he could relate to my story and that broke my heart. So later on my husband went to pick up the drinks we had on hold, and EG added a bouquet of flowers for us for free. I hope he reads this review and knows what an amazing human he is. He was kind and thoughtful and went above and beyond for my family and I. We live in HB, and will gladly take the trip to this location after the fantastic service my family experienced today. THANK YOU EG. Also, I've never had an issue with this store. It's huge, always stocked up, and always clean.

Most spacious Trader Joe's I've ever seen!

During my recent visit, Wendy at cashier station 5 on 6.13.2026 at around 7:30pm provided extremely disrespectful service and openly stated that she did not care enough to learn the pricing codes while scanning items. Fortunately, the employee assisting with bagging demonstrated far more professionalism and took the initiative to correct the mistakes caused by Wendy's lack of attention and concern. I hope management addresses this issue, as customers deserve courteous service and confidence that they are being charged accurately.

The grocery is good for what to expect for any Asian market but the main attraction is the food court. It may not seem like much but all of them are really good and would fill up your hunger instantly. My favorites from the top of my head are the Katsu Don if I remember correctly and the Udon section where you pick your tempura (don't know the exact name). Overall good place to eat lunch or even dinner. Another problem would be finding a seat since there's hardly any tables and your plate is pretty big and bowls are heavy so you have to be somewhat quick to find a seat. The ambiance is fine but that's kind of to be expect in any supermarket, which is usually crowds talking and all. I really don't have much to say. Ever since this place closed down the anime shop, the DVD store, and bookstore, this place pretty much lost what made Mitsuwa special and worth visiting. Especially for someone who's into both anime and tokusatsu like Super Sentai (Japanese Power Rangers). Those places are what got me my first Gundam model kit (Freedom Gundam from Gundam Seed) and my go to place for Japanese DVDs as mentioned (Gokaiger, Kyoryuger, and Nanoha). I understand why they close down these stores, especially with streaming services and online shopping are a thing, even though I don't fully agree as they are customers like me that would prefer in-store physical copies. That is why I deduct one star. These are replaces with a gachapon store, a Matcha store, a Boba store I believe and Daiso. The matcha and boba place (forgot the names sorry) are surprisingly good. I really like the matcha ice cream in a bowl and I believe the Doncha. The gachapon I cannot say as I never spend money there and I'm not into these gacha machines and I rarely buy anything in Daiso as its just your typical convenience store that sells some Japanese stuff so I won't say much. In conclusion, it's a very nice spot to eat Japanese meals and especially something to fill you up for the day while also shopping to buy Japanese food to cook at home. Just be aware this is pretty pricey, especially the Royce matcha chocolates and the food court.

The staff was kind and helpful and there appeared to be a lot of locals enjoying their meals out in their outdoor seating area. While the market had a bunch of fun fermented offerings, the food that I ordered from their cafe was not exactly what I expected. I ordered the chili and spicy kraut grilled cheese combo. The portions were on the smaller side but given it was lunch I didn't really mind. I was more let down by the lack of flavor in their grilled cheese, the spicy kraut was neither spicy and just didn't really add much aside from texture. The chili on the other hand was delicious so that partially redeemed the meal for me. My boyfriend got their bone broth which was very very light and needed additional seasoning though. While I love what they're trying to build here, I'm not sure if I'd go back.
