Nicol is so talented! She makes such beautiful flower arrangements. This is my go to place for flowers arrangements for any occasion instead of a flower shop. Their prices are so much lower than any flower shop. Flower shops fill arrangements with greenery instead of actual flowers and Vons doesn't. They do a great job at planning ahead for major occasions so they don't run out of flowers. Very satisfied with their floral department. read more

I don't particular do reviews for grocery stores but I'm honestly shocked at all the negative reviews. This is my go to grocery store, the one I go to every week. It's always clean, stocked with cart wipes, and the employees are super friendly and helpful. You often see the manager walking around and he always greets with you a smile. I've never bought anything here expired or moldy, I thought they did a good job of checking their merchandise. They also have a good selection of clearance, both non-perishable and perishable items just don't forget if you grab an item that's marked down, take it to an actual cashier rather than self check out. It's much easier and quicker. Someone mentioned feeling rushed in the self checkout and I've felt this way, never by the cashiers, always by my fellow customers but it is what it is. Self checkout isn't necessarily the fastest. I just like to scan my own food, no matter how much is in my cart. Overall it's a good store, well stocked and has friendly cashiers. read more

This party store is very customer friendly. I still don't understand why I have to scan everything to get the sale price. To make it worse, there are several different promotions to keep track of. It is... brace for it... a supermarket. They have things like food and booze and ice and paper plates. I don't have a Vons near me, but I like Vons. I think (for the most part) they make the stores attractive. I was picking something up from a restaurant for dinner for the girls, so I popped in here for something I could make for myself, as I was not into their choice of venues. The seafood counter had a very attractive and reasonably priced tuna steak, which along with a lone tomato I paired with tortillas, onion and avocado I already had at home for seared tuna tacos. What else can you ask out of a market other than to have good food options at reasonable prices? read more

One thing I hate is being pressured at self checkout, the hovering and constantly commenting on how self checkout should be done.. then the second my child sits down on the self checkout you don't give me the time to be the mother that I am! Never tell another parents child what to do! I'll never be coming back to this vons for how uncomfortable they made me feel! I felt discriminated because this staff rushed over to the self check out when I was arriving to it!;why do you think people like the SELF check out? To be by themSELVES! I love the service at this store! Very good staff, always friendly. I am an Instacart shopper part time and this store above all is the friendliest helpful store! No one is "too busy" or rude when you ask for help finding something, they don't give up until they have exhausted all efforts! For example, Nicole has helped me twice on 2 occasions, she has amazing eyes! My goodness thank god for her, even though I feel I have searched endlessly she is always approachable and ready to help! 1. The back of the store near the milk/juice section it smells like when you get dead rats stuck somewhere. It really smells like something died back there. It could be the meat department - but if it is that's not good either. PeeeeYoooo!!!!! 2. You will be blasted by super loud 90s pop music so you can't think or remember what you came there for. 3. The frozen food section is 90% TV dinners and ice-cream. Very limited with other frozen foods (for example, vegetable varieties, taquitos, meats). read more

Best grocery store around! I always find what I need and they have the best selections in every department. Today was so extra special that I knew I had to do a review. My cashier, (my receipt says her name is Erica) took her time to help me connect my phone number to my digital account, something that I've tried to get done over the phone a few times to no avail. She showed me how to use my app to scan, clip, and get the best deals available. She saved me a lot more money than when I was using my phone number alone. She was kind and patient and I really appreciated the fantastic service she provided me. The man working in the hot foods deli was also extremely nice and helpful. Amazing staff! read more

Flyer had avocados for 69 cents. Needed to do major shopping and wanted avocados for that price. Digital coupon. Forgot my phone. Customer service denied me the coupon. Drove to Pavillion and spent 350.00. Called Manager of Von to tell him why we left his store. Darell could have cared less. He said if he gave it to one person without a phone, he'd have to give it to everyone. Never going back there. read more

Vons isn't my favorite grocery store to shop at. This location isn't much better, long lines, busy parking lot, not the best selection. Prices are higher than most other grocery stores, while selling the same items. Service was fine, we got what we needed, but I would not go out of my way to come back here again. read more

I unfortunately did not have the best experience, while shopping in the bakery area all u hear is a female worker gossiping about other co-works, I believe her name was Teresa from what I could understand, TBH Nobody wants to shop at a store and hear nothing but negativity among one another very unprofessional for a work place. This is the closest grocery store to our house so we always have given them the benefit when in doubt. Even when most nights, the night manager is a little bit short and sometimes rude. But tonight we went there and at 10:50, he was at the front door stay in the Store was closed at 11 and we cannot come in. We said we only need to pick up 1 item (coconut water) but he still said sorry it's too late...? Do yourself a favor and drive the extra two minutes down the street east to the Ralph's, much more courteous and respectful read more

I am very close to a lot of different grocery stores living in Costa Mesa but this Vons has everything I need in one stop! The staff are very kind and are always thoughtful in the check-out lanes or the aisles. Garrett has helped me on several occasions. One time in particular I had left my full jug of laundry detergent at the laundromat so I went to Von's to replace it. I told him about my predicament and he saved me some money with a "Coupon for U!" That made my day! Cheers to this location! Five stars read more

I have been going to this store for 14 years. Last night I was shopping and wanted to use the restroom and there was no one around to ask for a code--so I checked out and asked the checker for the bathroom code. I left my cart/groceries at the front and took my purse to the restroom. When I returned 5 min later to get my groceries at the front the manager said to me: "Whatever you put in your purse, you need to put back." She was accusing me of shoplifting something when I went to the bathroom. I explained to her what happened regarding getting the code and using the restroom and offered for her to look through my purse and she refused. I won't go to this store again. If you falsely accuse someone of something you should at least be willing to look through their things and own up to your mistake. How completely rude and unprofessional!! read more

My poor little "ghetto Vons" is no longer ghetto anymore! Well at least not in the ambiance. And I have yet to check out with a drunken middle aged lady with few teeth try to crack jokes while I'm in line to check out. I really like this place and since they are still in grand opening mode there are plenty of people to help, lots of samples, never a long wait to check out, etc. They also have so many more bakery items, a larger selection of fresh meats, and a pretty extensive new produce area. I'm glad I can cruise on over here instead of being stuck with Ralphs or having to travel out to Albertsons for things that Trader Joe's and Grower's Direct doesn't have. I hardly write any reviews on Yelp but I think my experience yesterday morning around 10am merits one. This store is absolutely the worst. I was shopping for groceries for our road trip back home and needed to use the restroom quickly. I see an associate near the restroom with a cart filled with stocks for the shelves. I parked my basket with our snacks and other groceries nearby so that it doesn't get in anyone's way. I approached him to ask for the code. I have not even finished my question (i.e. "Hi. Excuse me but..." and he immediately interrupted me and said he did not know the code. Ummm, you work here and you honestly are telling me you do not know the code?!? I seriously think he did that on purpose because I'm asian. Talk about being racist. It's not as if I went to the store just to use the restroom. I'm a paying customer. Not some random person trying to pee for free. I tried to get his name but he purposely moved his body closer to the stocks so I cannot get his name. I do not usually get bothered by these things because I have thick skin but I could tell from his eyes and they way he looked at me from shoes up to my face and back down very quickly that he was being racist towards me. So pissed, I walk through the aisles trying to find an associate who would be kind enough to provide me with the code. I spoke to the man who happens to be the assistant store manager and he was kind enough to give the code. I hope that associate who was rude gets a good dose of his rudeness from someone else. Or be re-trained or go back to school to be taught good manners and right conduct. And TBH, I've never experienced this kind of racism or rudeness in our home state NV. All the Vons and Albertsons that I've shopped in weekly near our house, have the best and nicest associates. read more

I've never been to Japan but i can imagine that i would find a lot of the same products in a Japanese market in Japan. The store is lively with a nice energy. The service is friendly. I did not purchase anything this time as i was accompanying some friends but I recommend checking it out.

Beautifully made, but cold. If a Health Inspector attempted to eat lunch here, they'd be cited and possibly shut down until they could prove they have a staff trained to keep the place clean. CORPORATE: You need to GUT the staff. Hire people with experience serving people. People who know how to hustle for a tip. We will reward them well. The mystery of how so many Mother's have closed has been solved. Seal Beach, Manhattan Beach, it all makes sense now. Your competitors have moved in with SERVICE. Stop hiring entitled rich kids. A male employee politely helped me clean it up, but the female greeter at the entrance (Asian appearance) made nasty remarks and looked at me and my service dog with open disgust. Later at checkout, about five or six employees stood around one register, stared at me with cold, judgmental looks, and not a single person said "thank you" or "have a good day." The whole atmosphere felt openly hostile and, in my opinion, discriminatory toward a customer with a legitimate service animal. I will be filing a formal complaint with Pavilions corporate and considering further action.

Easy parking lot, not too crowded. Super friendly nice staff. I specifically came here because Les S. mentioned a good deal for their sliced meat for DIY hot pot/shabu shabu. On the day of my visit, there was a deal for $14.99 American Wagyu Chuck Roll. Significantly cheaper than other markets on sliced meats. I also got some sliced angus beef and sliced pork while I was in the meat area. There was staff refilling the meats and he was super friendly and nice. Ohh and 20% off meats on Fridays! They also had pre-cut Kabocha Squash for $1.99/lb. Wow I loveeee the kabocha squash but I dread cutting it. It's like a vigorous work out cause this squash has a thick skin and I struggle each time. I was sooooo happy it was pre-cut so I can eat to my heart's delight. I also saw the Akai Kitsune Udon noodles on sale for $2.99 so I got a few of those too. All of the ingredients were delicious for our New Years Eve DIY hot pot feast at home. Very quality :) A small market with good deals. As Les S. mentioned there are some items that go for about average pricing, but they have some killer deals. I especially love how their staff was so nice. As I was browsing around they were friendly and welcoming, and as I checked out they were courteous and helpful. Feels like a community around here. I will definitely be coming back now that I know about this gem.

The store may not be fancy but it is very practical shopping here. From fresh produce to beautiful Made in Japan dishes, you will feel like you're in Japan. Everything is displayed neatly and nicely, which is easy to find and the products are cleaned and packed well. Colorful bottle of beverages and various frozen sweets are so attractive that it is hard not to pick one up. The staff are diligently either restocking or organizing so it is great seeing the store is well kept. At the check-out, the casher was friendly and the other staff was quick on bagging the products that I purchased.
