My first time coming to this Trader Joe's was a little intimidating. I didn't know where to park, didn't know where the store actually was, and basically just followed a Tradrr Joes sign and hoped for the best. Once you do it once, though, it's easy. You can enter from either entrance, and the store is on the 1sr floor. I personally prefer entering off Crescent Heights, it feels more straightforward but the other entrance has a car wash, which is a great option if you want to drop your car off while you shop Tip: if you park on P3, there's a direct elevator that takes you straight into the store, which feels like a small victory when you discover it. There's also a ticket validation machine near checkout for 90min of free parking. Now that I've got the hang of it, I actually love this TJs. The selection is great, the staff is friendly, and having a CVS in the same plaza makes it easy to knock out multiple errands in one stop. Big bonus for not being the usual LA parking headache. This is one of the easiest Trader Joe's to access in the West Hollywood area and it's also probably one of the least crowded ones. The parking garage is enormous. My usual way to access the entrance is to turn south off Sunset Blvd. onto Laurel Ave where there is a quiet entrance to the parking garage. There is also an entrance on Crescent Heights Blvd. You drive down and park on Level P3, which is clearly marked with signs to "Trader Joe's", but there's an elevator that takes you directly into the shop. I love taking the elevator because it's covered with vintage record albums inside and it's so much fun to look at them; they seem to rotate every year or so. The store is very spacious and clean. It's bright with lots of windows. It can be a bit confusing because some items are in different areas than other stores, but the staff is so helpful and they always know where to look if you ask them for something. They have all the standard TJ's fresh food and produce, and everything else that a Trader Joe's has. The checkout people are so nice. The store gives free validation for parking and the validation box is just after the checkout registers near the customer service desk. read more

Parking is free in the underground garage up to 90 minutes with validation. There are tons of other places in this Sunset Mall so you can grab some Korean Fried Chicken or watch a movie, grab some Starbucks or hit up CVS while here. I Have lived above a TJs for 13 years. One thing that pisses me off is their attitude to dairy. I have repeatedly asked them to stock organic milk in the quart size as I live alone. A half gallon goes off before I am halfway through. They ignored my requests and yet they are seen by many as being single household friendly. Rubbish. read more

This store is tucked inside a mall area and thankfully attached to a parking deck so you can validate. We ran in here for some late night snacks after a show at the Laugh Factory. Perfect location. I found some snacks to take home and eat something good before bed, perfect ending to a perfect night. They had vegan snacks that hit the spot! read more

While I was in the store at Sunset Plaza near Laugh Factory in West Hollywood, an employee named Natalie followed me around the store and took a photo of my hair. I have a recording of her doing it (if you Zoom in you can see her with her phone up and she did it in TWO aisles and tried to walk past me to get a shot in my face while being slick, she failed). My hair is a big afro and she made me extremely upset. I've lived in the area for five years and usually I have great experiences but that was very hurtful and harmful with our current political climate. It really irks me that our culture celebrates & rewards cynicism and sarcasm to the point that we don't trust and appreciate people who exhibit genuine joy and cheerfulness without the You always look at them as if "these people just drank the cult punch" But it is that honest cheerfulness and joy that keeps me coming back to this Trader Joe's when there are 2 others that I could choose from in this same proximity. I just came back from buying groceries and I feel better now than when I arrived. Too be fair, the other 2 stores are also generally full of helpful, energetic, well-dispositioned people too but today it's all about the Sunset and Crescent Heights gang. It's actually a fun experience to shop here. Great music playing all the time, lots of nostalgic 80's music, music albums up in the elevators. Back to giving out food samples after Covid but unfortunately no more free coffee. The best thing I discovered after I fractured my foot is that they have a motorized cart for those who are injured or disabled! Mostly a nice efficient staff although when I ask to have refrigerated/frozen items packed separately, cashiers often make errors that I luckily catch, like putting a lone yogurt in with non-refrigerated items. With my fractured foot, it's hard to put away all my groceries at once and I need to make sure all the refrigerated items are put away first, but as long as I'm vigilant, it's OK, just wish they paid a bit more attention to things like that. But this is my favorite Trader Joe's and they were particularly great during Covid and the only grocery store I felt safe in. (The nearby Ralph's had a huge Covid breakout with employees.) read more

This Trader Joe's has the best plant selection! My girlfriend come here to pick up groceries every week and every week we end up leaving with a new plant. We've visited all the other TJs in the area and found that this one has the best rotating selection since we find something new every time we go. Pro tip: park in the underground parking to get in quicker, there usually is line outside the normal entrance but when you ride the elevator up you are already in the store. I've been coming to this Trader Joe's for almost 8 years. My previous review was 5 stars because everyone is so friendly and it brings me joy to come in and shop. However, I left today (as well as once the other week) with a horrible taste in my mouth... your employee Tim. I am not here writing this review to get anyone in trouble or make this personal. However, a review must be written about the fact that Tim is the ONLY staff member in this Trader Joe's or ANY Trader Joe's establishment (or ANY supermarket/grocery store for that matter) that has TOLD ME TO BAG MY OWN GROCERIES. In 11 years of being in LA and shopping at Trader Joe's (8 years at this location), and in any supermarket since I was born, I have NEVER EVER heard of a cashier telling their customers to bag their own groceries. In a very rude smirky tone, "You you can bag your own groceries" he said. The tone says it ALL! That's pretty much Tim saying "ummm... bag your own groceries because I don't want to." This was also said after no "hello! How's your day?" No greeting from Tim (whereas your entire staff is so friendly and engaging and also never tells me to bag my stuff). Tim said this today and when I was in his line a couple weeks ago as well. I almost didn't go in his line today, but I thought maybe that was just a fluke day. Nope. Seems like Tim says it every time, I'm assuming to every customer?How has there not been more complaints about this?? No shit Sherlock, if I wanted to bag my own groceries I would do so. But I spend over $100 every visit multiple times a week, I have 3 kids and the ONLY time I have for myself is an hour to both go to the gym and get my groceries. Why would I want to bag my own groceries?? I've never ever heard of such a thing. That's part of your job description. I'm a waitress. That's like you coming to sit down in a restaurant, me taking your order and then telling you to go to the kitchen and get your own food, or to bus your own table. Even worse, I told Tim that it upsets me that he tells me to bag my own groceries and that he said this to me last time. As I'm saying this, another staff member coincidentally walks by and helps to bag the groceries (NOTE: this staff member wasn't even my cashier and she happily bagged my groceries lol) and instead of Tim apologizing to me, he has this other staff member take over for him and Tim grumpily says something to the manager about me and goes back to the break room. Tim, it's one thing to tell me to bag my own groceries. But PLEASE do not go gossiping and talking smack about a loyal customer, attempting to make me feel uncomfortable when I come into the store I've come into for 8 years. Own up to it and don't make Trader Joe's customers now feel uncomfortable coming into the store because you're talking about them behind their back (well, after telling them to bag their own groceries of course). And the only reason I am giving 2 stars instead of 1, is because everyone else is FANTASTIC! read more

Be 99 $ they do carry beer and hard liquor great prices on a lot of the food bran of whisky. Better than liquor stores or even big buy in Bulk stores. Whisky prices is way cheaper than Costco and. bevmo , great selection. You won't find coke cola product or Pepsi . They have great selection of nuts and snacks. my favorite is the smoke salted almonds , honey cashews , peanut. Variety of spices and collection of chocolate bars . The produce is always fresh . Validation is available for parking. Parking is on site Restrooms for guests Great customer service but I think sometimes they get so busy and the lines to for a while which causes a lot of us standing behind each other and makes it crowded I wish they r as organised as the one sets on Hollywood. It's a really nice Trader Joes with a very friendly and helpful staff I experienced. I almost thought that I was in Orange County for a minute it was so nice and pleasant here. It's on the first level of a mall. I ate my sandwich in the shade at the Starbucks Tables. (Don't tell Starbucks please.) It was so relaxing to sit outside--maybe the best outside TJ experience I have ever had and I have had many all over. From a neighborhood perspective--I have to say the the female clientele here are some of the most attractive women I have ever encountered at TJ location--and that may be because it's in the epicenter of Sunset Blvd--the entertainment capital of the world. So many woman just hanging out in the middle of a busy Monday business day afternoon relaxing in Yoga pants. I wonder if they have jobs? So if you are single--not a bad place to connect with someone I think? Anyway--the Trader Joes food here tasted much better than the locations near my place in Los Angeles. The store was clean but some of the produce didn't look fresh, particularly the watermelon. Their cheese selection is limited. I bought two packs of sushi, shrimp tempura and I think an avocado roll and both were disgusting, not fresh, tried both and immediately threw them away. Stopped in to grab some items for a work meeting and it took forever. This place has the SLOWS. The lines were crazy long. And they kept telling people to back up and stand behind the mark while their items were scanned. And they seem obsessed with forcing inane small talk that adds minutes to every transaction. Continuing the joke that TJ's have the absolute worst parking, this location definitely cannot be left out. However once you arrive upstairs, there is the upside to the parking issue. The great selection also comes with the friendly TJs staff. I do agree this location seems slightly smaller but I still find what I need. Trade Joes is like having a home where ever you go. You can count on at least 90% of the same great products you get at your local chain. While traveling to LA this was our go to when we arrived and when we left to get nibbles for the long haul drives. Lots of cashiers, helpful staff, good selection of organic and healthy options, and you can count on finding your favorite items even 300 miles away. Parking is a breeze, one kind of weird interaction was there was a greeter that told my cousin to watch her becuase of recent burglaries, I have also heard of tjs having issues with people selling things in front as well, good for them for being proactive. read more

This location has to have the best staff EVER!!! Love the Rock n roll feel and this one is rarely crazy packed. I've been to the 3rd and La Brea TJ's... nothing like that one. There's always someone that will say hi and smile at you, and that's just the customers. The staff is friggin' friendly :) LOVE it. In the same structure: Crunch, Starbucks, Movies, Veggie Grill, DNA clothing, CB2... all in the same shopping area... woohoo. Get your workout on, caffeinated, get your shop on. woohoo. This Trader Joe's is different in some ways from most others because it's tucked away inside a large retail complex. If you're walking or driving along Sunset Blvd you'll see the Trader Joe's sign prominently on the retail billboard (along with Crunch Gym and Sushi Dan off to the side), but you can't see the store from the street. It's like a secret Trader Joe's, that will only commit to you, if you commit to Joe -- come out of your car and find him! It's so clean and nice inside, so wide and inviting, but part of that has to do with it being a new store, I'm sure. But I'm equally sure this location will age well. It's not just grocery shopping, it's a fun experience, especially if you're not in a rush to get home right away. Though, if you're shopping at this Trader Joe's you're probably not in such a rush anyway because it takes a bit longer to navigate the parking structure and use the elevators than it does to just stop in front of the nearby Ralphs, buy the pre-cooked chicken or whatever (that you will later claim that you cooked yourself, you Sneak:-)), and jet on out of there. The selection is similar to any other Trader Joe's -- relatively low prices on delicious and often fashionable foods (fashionable as in trendy, not as in, you're going to actually wear that goat cheese pizza and accessorize it with matching shoes), no Coke or Pepsi or Doritos or other stereotypical brands you'd see at larger chains... Service at this location is excellent. You can pass by the juice sample counter like a hundred times and they will never actually call you on it -- just play dumb. The decor is entertaining and stylish. It's like leafing through your dad's collection of LPs and tacking the coolest covers on the walls. The distinctive Hawaiian floral shirt that the employees wear at most locations is ubiquitous here, too, and sometimes you can see the employees walking to and from work along the street or on break. I totally understand. If I worked at a place as cool as TJ's, I would definitely rock that shirt all day long and maybe even sleep in it. Maybe not, but yeah. Trader Joe's at this location fits the same niche as Trader Joe's fits at nearly every other location -- not quite so expensive as a Gelson's or Whole Foods, but certainly a cut above most larger chain grocery stores, quality wise. Plus, for some reason I can't fathom fully, when I shop at Trader Joe's I feel that eating a bag of chocolate-dipped pretzels is somehow helping the environment or saving the whales. read more

Trader Joe's at 8000 Sunset Blvd is pure Nirvana. This location is not in the same spot where Virgin Megastore used to occupy. They took over the space where Sam Ash used to be. The shop is spaced out so nicely that you can fit 3 to 4 carts side by side and still have room. They totally rocked out this location with old LP covers, art work, and guitars. They still have the same great selection but more of it. I fell in love with the wine and spirits aisle. The store is so brand new that i only saw about 15 people shopping. I will def be back later this week. Parking - park on level 3 which has the direct elevator that opens inside Trader Joe's. As you drive down to level 3, drive around towards the back part of the ramp and you'll see the elevator in the corner.
