I love coming to this Trader Joe's! It's right on pch, so it's a fantastically beautiful drive. The staff is kind, and they give me stickers when I ask. Occasionally, they are sold out of certain products, but that's par for the course with any Trader Joe's. It's not the largest store, only one aisle of frozen goods, so you have slightly less variety than other, larger locations, but I've never had any trouble getting everything I need. On the other hand, there are a very good selection of wines here, if that's something you're interested in. read more

This was my 1st time at this store waiting for it to open at 0900. We were in line for the cute bags , enjoying the scenery. My excitement was cut short when we went in and there was this caucasian lady scolding a little old Asian lady stating" you look familiar, I better not see your face again because you only get to buy these bags once so there will be enough for everyone ".Her tone was so demeaning and I was so mad at myself that I did not report her to her supervisor right away. This trader joe's definitely wins the award for the best view BUT it also wins the award for the worst parking situation. The nearby popular restaurants and shops take up a lot of the 30 minute parking spots allotted for Trader. The weekends and at dinnertime is especially difficult. The inside is more spacious than other trader joe's with a good selection of flowers as well. read more

First time visiting a Trader Joe's! Hearing great things about it, we came by after our crystal cove hike to grab some snacks and smoothies to refuel. Parking wasn't hard to find at this location. I had the mango smoothie was not too sweet. also tried the mochi rice nuggets which lacked flavour in my opinion. We got kettle chips and everything but the bagel seasoning as well which were good. I tried the pumpkin butter which was recommended to me but unfortunately was not a fan of the spice and flavour. Some items are hit or miss, I guess. Overall not a bad stop to check out the different snacks which were reasonably priced. read more

Restroom was pretty bad. Was not expecting that in such a nice area. People in general need to use public facilities like they're in their own homes and Trader Joe's needs to follow up on its restroom-cleaning protocols. read more

I have to say, this is my favorite Trader Joe's in California. The layout feels open and spacious & they have so many beautiful floral arrangements/options! Very clean inside. Unlike some of the other Trader Joe's, the Newport Beach location has plenty of parking, wider aisles that are easy to navigate, frozen foods in enclosed freezers, & they carry a nice selection of slightly higher-end products you may not find at other locations. Associates are friendly & helpful, they keep the store tidy & organized, & the wait times at the registers are minimal. As a bonus: If you come at just the right time, you'll practically have the entire store to yourself! And no...I'm not going to tell you when that time is. This particular TJ is Super packed Super Busy. Parking is tight and don't be afraid to park far and walk bc you'll be here a while. This store had alot of new items scattered throughout. As I walked around uncertain to find the things I needed, I went thru almost every isle and found more than I needed. Candy and Christmas items were placed perfectly for the wandering eye to see! So of course I walked out with more than I needed! Also the reusable bag selection was so confusing for a quick I need a bag hurry. Had I took a bit more time I would have picked a much nicer one but the 99cent one was quick, with plenty of people behind me that was perfect at the time. I will definitely return. read more

Newport Beach, Ca. This is my favorite Joes. Close to home, easy parking, and I know where everything is located in the store. The employees are always friendly and helpful. There is a good selection of organic produce and dairy most of the time. There is a charging station for the car at the side of the store, but I rarely use it as it doesn't include a Tesla supercharger so I have to pay and it's slow. They are always quick to open a check stand if it gets really busy and a bell rings when there is a no waiting checker. read more

I was in her for a quick run on the night of August 25 and the cashier and bagger were so friendly and went above and beyond. Very friendly, nice conversation, and they caught that my pepper had a dark spot on it and didn't hesitate to call it out and go grab me a new one. If I remember correctly the cashiers name was Carly and she was training a bagger who I unfortunately forgot the name of but I hope both of them get their props!! read more

Staying in Newport Beach is a blessing, quiet and secluded, away from my usual city life but it's so inconvenient. Everything is so f.a.r. away... That being said, having a Trader Joe's nearby, I'm thankful. Staffs are always so welcoming and friendly. One good thing is comparing the TJ from here in OC and LA is that products don't get run out as quick. Especially those seasonal items. In L.A., most of the time you snooze, you lose. Located in Crystal Cove shopping center. It's a really nice and large TJ's. There is a lot of selection of products, some of which I haven't seen at the TJ's I've been at in the Sacramento area. The store is very spacious as well. Lots of space for shoppers to maneuver through the store. read more

There's something for everyone, I really enjoy their ice cream comes, and when it's the holidays they will have either pumpkin or peppermint flavoured ones. Absolutely immaculate and well organized Trader Joe's! I love the selection of fresh herbs that you can buy with the potted plants as these last longer than the trimmed herb bundles in a plastic package. With a little love, daily scant watering, and proximity to a window for sunlight, I've gotten these herb plants to grow for a good month and a half, two months and they keep producing new leaves to use in cooking. My favorite is the Trader Joe's basil plant which I use for homemade caprese salads and homemade pasta sauce. Plus they're so pretty! Tried the new eggplant pita kit for a meal and was satisfied with the flavor and texture but make sure you're near a sink because this is so messy you for sure will need to wash your hands afterwards as a napkin will not suffice lol As with other Trader Joe's at which I shop, the employees here are so knowledgeable and friendly that I will shop here over other grocery stores just because they make it such a pleasant experience instead of a chore. I truly appreciate the gentleman who noticed the length of lines and came of his own volition to start a new register without having to be paged. Always love driving up the coast to this location! Easy parking, clean inside and well stocked store and nice employees!

I'm giving them 2 stars because I love the store and the people that work there BUT I was robbed inside the store by gypsies also- and Trader Joes Crystal Cove's excuse again was they didn't have cameras in the store! How could that ever be? AND worse yet I wasn't familiar with what gypsies were until they robbed me blind in the store while distracting me- BUT- the employees and management know exactly what they look like and could have prevented this by following them if they see them steeling in side they can prosecute them. Sadly enough this has been happening for years! I have a few friends this has happened to also. I have unfortunately stopped going to any Trader Joes for this reason. I have a friend whose husband works for a TJ and has said it said it's been happening g at all the OC stores for years. read more

I often take my mother to this Trader Joe's location because it's a few miles away from her home, and my mother loves to go shopping, and likes to pack all of her purchases into my car. She buys lots of things at Trader Joe's and has never been dissatisfied with anything. Yesterday, Trader Joe's was out of some of my mother's favorite products, due to supply chain disruption. One of the items was the Trader Joe's shredded hash brown potatoes. Trader Joe's said the hash browns should return in a few months. We bought fruits and veggies and a few frozen desserts, plus flowers. The flowers were fresh and beautiful. Staff and workers at Trader's Joe's are always very friendly and helpful! I'm sooo disappointed with this Trader Joe's. They RARELY rotate their food and I can't tell you how many times I've been in this particular store to have items that are expired that same day. This location DOES NOT CARE about the fresh food and expiration dates. It's such a bummer looking at each item to make sure it isn't expired. I've been told by managers there that this Trader Joe's isn't busy like the others so they don't rotate as often. PLEASE BE AWARE and look at the dates on your food. I don't care if this location is the slowest store they should NEVER have food that expires the same day that it's purchase. read more

My favorite Trader Joe's! Obviously, the view from parking lot isn't too shabby :) I appreciate that they always have everything in stock. Some of the other Trader Joe's in the area have outages with certain products. Even during the chaos of the pandemic, they had more items in stock than other grocery stores. The best is when you arrive as they are receiving their floral delivery! Service here is always outstanding and the checker staff always works efficiently. read more

It is a Trader Joe's. Probably in the nicest strip mall of any other Trader Joe's, but it is still a Trader Joe's. The layout is fine, and with all the TJs out there, it is slightly different than every other TJs, so if it isn't your regular store, you may have to wander the aisles to find what you want. Wander out into the parking lot toward the ocean and there are some nice seating areas where you can have a bite of whatever you recently bought and watch over PCH and the Pacific beyond that, all in the shade without having to pay for parking. read more

I can start this off by saying I was anti healthy for so many years, but as I watched my wife beast her metamorphosis that caused me to give in to a healthier (can't say 100% until I ditch my steers) lifestyle and I owe a part of that to Trader Joe's as much as her inspirational story. Hate admitting that and lord knows the swelled head she's going to get reading this. I know from store to store there are much of the same products, but I will say with seasonal products this one especially is a diamond in the rough. With the out of nowhere "everyone being an ube fan" for quite a while they were the only ones carrying the shortbread cookies. Granted they are cleaned out, but it's nice to know there's always an ace in the hole for these rare items when they arise. Beyond that presentation wise I can tell the employees pride in keeping it clean. Everything is always well stocked and products are always so organized. It sounds weird but that statement resonates even into the bathrooms. I don't expect them to be clean anywhere I go, but here when nature calls at least I don't feel like even I have to pop a squat. One of the other and many reviews here pretty much summarized this store to a T. It's one of the quieter locations with foot traffic which treated coming here as a destination and not an off the freeway random excursion. The strip mall gives you that ocean view and just leaves you feeling with a sense of balanced inner chi. Either way you push that proverbial shopping cart down the aisle it's a thing of beauty! read more

Have loved Trader Joe's Crystal Cove in the past. Have recently had experiences with new hires who poorly perform their jobs. For example, the customer in front of me this evening who decided to purchase a Trade Joe's canvas bag for her purchases was not charged for the bag. My credit card purchase included $50 cash back. The cashier gave me $44 cash back after my purchase and seem surprised when I mentioned the amount was $50. She gave me the additional $6.00 I was owed but with no apologies. Frustrating to have to even check the accurately of billing and cash back, especially given this is produced electronically for the cashier. read more

Greek salad, marionberry pie, and steak was a quick dinner from this store. I checked all the registers but there was only one kind of Valrhona chocolate bar. I just had the goat cheese pizza for brunch. It took us half an hour to choose drinks and prepared meals for the week, in time for Gossip Girl. I recommend Spaten Oktoberfest. Outside is a sign that denies responsibility for any free speech demonstrations. The manager asked us if we were okay then directed us to the pizza we couldn't find. There seems to be more refrigerated cases at this location than my usual. This is located next to Pier 21 all the way at the end of the shopping center. You just have to know its there if you try to go at night because of the lack of directional signage. read more

This is a sad review ... we love Trader Joe's in all locations. This is for the Crystal Cove Trader Joe's. This is the first time we feel the need to speak up. We have vacationed every year at the Newport Coast Marriott Villas ... more than 15 years. We have always supported local businesses. We have visited this location every year. Today, we walked to Trader Joe's to pick up supplies for Christmas brunch. We were happily pleased when the manager opened up a new line and asked us to transition over for service. All went well until I took a moment too long to activate my Apple Pay. She went on to criticize about people having to learn how to make payment work. She said, so many people just wave there phones around ... she demonstrated with arms flailing. I was not waving my phone around but probably took 15 seconds longer than she wanted because I had to have the face recognition activate ... there was only one person after us. I am sure the process would have taken just as long with a physical credit card. I know I will get better with practice but I will never forget being scolded for not being quick. I've been shopping at TJ's for years; I even worked at one once. I have shopped at this location for a long time, but have to say I was shocked today by what occurred. I entered a stall in the bathroom to see the trash receptacle brimming over the top with trash, the sanitary seat covers box empty and not even in the holder, and the coup de grace - splatters of excrement on the wall behind the toilet. It was so gross, I turned around and walked out. NEVER have I seen a bathroom looking like this at any of the numerous TJ's I have been in. This was bad enough, but the real insult came when I found the manager to tell him. This guy looked me in the eyes and in a rude tone and with a nasty demeanor lied to me and said the bathroom had "just been cleaned 15 minutes ago." So, the trash receptacle spilling over the top with trash, the empty seat covers holder, and the excrement on the wall all happened in the span of 15 minutes..... This occurred on June 4, 2019 at around 11:00 or 11:30 am. Whoever the manager was at that time (I failed to look at his name tag) needs further training in how to correctly interact with customers in a polite manner, keep the bathrooms clean and NOT LIE. read more

Maybe I'm spoiled, but this is not the best TJ's I've visited. Smaller than most stores, this Trader Joe's--situated in a posh OC strip mall-- has a smaller selection of goods than others I frequent. Wine and beer selections were limited, and definitely bore the ocean view markup. No buttermilk to make pancakes. No ice (no ice! We had to drive fifteen minutes up the road to Pavilions, and for camping food and drink purchases, probably should have gone there in the first place. Also--and this is not TJs fault-- several terrible drivers made my 45 seconds in the parking lot feel a lot longer, and dangerous to boot. For the price of those Teslas and Mazeratis, you'd think the nouveau-rich of this area could afford some driving and parking lessons. Oh well, back to the poverty-stricken 626 I go... The usual fare of cat cookies, fresh fruit, hummus n pita chips, and trail mix made it worth the trip. And don't get me wrong-- I love Trader Joe's... I just get a little surprised when specialty chains have a smaller, weaker sibling in their family. read more
