A great selection of food from around the world. I love the variety, freshness, and prices. Trader Joe's food for the most part seems a bit more healthier than what you would find in your "run of the mill" grocery store. Since Trader Joe's sources most of their very own name brand products, they tend not to have as much in the way of preservatives, and artificial flavorings in their own name brand offerings. Eating healthy at a reasonable price is everyone's goal. Trader Joe's makes that a lot easier. read more

Seriously lacking in FRESH produce. Why are all these organic bell peppers way past their prime, and still sitting on shelves for me to see? Fine for some of the basics, but if you really need canned things, broths, frozen items and even dairy-- really, most grocery items-- this could be your spot. Personally, I'm a Whole Foods/Fairway kinda gal, but when in Scarsdale... I would not recommend buying the bulk of your fresh fruits and veggies here. Peeped a bunch of strawberries for sale with visible mold on many fruits. That's a problem. The cashiers are very effiicient and friendly, and the prices more than fair. My partner and I are in NY, visiting from Canada, and decided to check out what all the Trader Joe's fuss is about - we were NOT disappointed! The quality of food was superb, the location was clean and orderly, but most of all the service was exceptional! April, who cashed us out, went above and beyond to make our first Trader Joe's experience one to remember. From ringing the bell to celebrate our first visit to recommending delicious peanut butter cup snacks, April turned an already pleasant experience into a truly memorable one, ensuring that we'll be back whenever we can. I LOVE TRADER JOE'S!!! i come to this one all the time because its the closest one.... I love trader joe's for all their breads, frozen foods, clif bars, and hummus and stufff which is alll great! but one thing.... be careful of the produce section! Since most people go to regular supermarkets where things get sold fast, here at Trader Joe's, the fresh stuff kinda sits out for a while sometimes!!!! I've been a customer of this location since the day it opened and I'm sad to say that in the past few years there's been a slow decline , but as of late every time I go in I leave saying why do I come here? The general attitude of the workers and I mean pretty much all of them except Lisa , is appalling . Trader Joe's is not your typical low class store where you expect to be treated badly but unfortunately that's what you get in scarsdale these days , whoever is doing the hiring should be fired , of late when you're in an aisle and you want something and a worker is busy doing stock, you are made to feel like you're a nuisance and annoying instead of asking if I need help which would be the normal protocol in a service environment, when I'm looking to make my purchases I'm really not interested in listening to the workers gossiping or discussing their personal lives instead of asking if I need help which I always do since the shelves are always empty , tonite was the last straw , I needed some lettuce and of course there was a worker in the spot I needed to be at, he saw me lingering next to him but he would not engage I finally asked if I could get the bag over his head and he just looked at me , blank stare , and I smiled and reached the product and blank stare not a word just a blank stare , maybe it's more than just hating his job , maybe he has hatred for someone like me that's what I feel at this location these days so to alleviate the situation I will and all of my family will shop in hartsdale where it's a totally different vibe So sad read more

I shop almost all my grocery at TJ's. However if the cashiers see you with a full cart of food, they don't think it's good business. They don't greet you. They just look away and sigh. I enjoy shopping at Trader Joes for its variety of quality items. My only disappointment is that the produce is hit or miss -- there are better places to shop for produce. Selection of quality meats and frozen items is terrific. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Parking can be a nightmare -- the lot is nearly always full even when the store itself is not all that busy. This is a nice Trader Joe's filled with all of the typical delicious food. The great thing about TJ is that a.) it's cheap b.) there is a large amount of easy to prepare food (like frozen entrees) and c.) they offer the same products as some well known organic/vegetarian lines, but with their label on it and for cheaper (Their roasted vegetable pizza, for example..) Things I love: lentil vegetable soup, roasted vegetable pizza, black bean soup, their yogurt (just like Stonyfield), Spanish sofrito lentils, any of the granola, trail mix bars, tapenade, corn salsa, flaxseed tortilla chips..this list goes on for quite a while. I agree with Miki about the produce. Sometimes, you can find some stuff that looks okay, but for the most part, just skip it. I'm also not a big fan of their bread or baked goods. I would give it more stars except for the fact that I miss my Trader Joe's in MA where I could buy wine and beer with my food. read more

This TJ's is small and always jam packed. BUT I love Trader Joe's and walking out with multiple bags of goodies and money left in my bank account. I skip the produce and meat here. I usually go for staples that I only get here- Almond Milk, frozen roasted corn, cheap cans of black beans, light beer, tortillas, goat cheese, chicken sausage in every flavor- the list goes on. We love TJ's but cannot bring ourselves to drive into the city just for it. This is our closest location and have little to no complaints. Parking is a bit of a challenge as their lot is really small, it should be much bigger. However, there's TONS of parking for the other nearby stores which you can easily use. With that being said, this TJ is smaller than the other ones but it can fulfill your needs. They always have everything I've come for (dried mango I'm looking @ ya') and the staff is always so kind. Their always eager to help and are always nice to the customers. The lines can be long but I've gotten lucky enough to never have waited longer than 5 mins for one. Give this location a chance regardless of the reviews, everyone has their own different experiences. read more

Love Trader Joe's but this location is a mess. The staff is always goofing around when they could be stocking the perpetually empty shelves. And when it's busy the parking lot is a total nightmare. Takes half an hour sometimes to get in and out of it. And there is no help on the part if the staff to make it better. read more

Normally I shop Trader Joes on Mamaroneck or Darien,Harsdale. So this is my impression after only shopped here several times... Staffs are not nice as other stores. I don't know why,but they sometimes yell or quarrel each other in front of customers, which made me very uncomfortable. I love trader bob, but this location is one of the worst...same ranking as the one in Queenz. Parking is NIGHTMARE, store is situated so poorly, everything is unorganized. The only good thing is more of "crew" are cool. Other than that, I wouldn't shop here unless I'm on the road heading to and from CT. read more

Trader Joe's in general has that "je nais se quoi" above and beyond the food quality, which is good-to-very good, but not *that* great in terms of product diversity or healthfulness. It's probably the fact that the layout is non-traditional for a supermarket (it's small, which is a good thing, but the tradeoff is you have a less product diversity, as noted) and the staff aren't zombies like the typical huge square-footage grocery chain. (The fewer amount of SKUs in each product category doesn't bother me, however; I'm not looking for 15 brands of peanut butter to choose from.) As for this location, the parking is fine, with wide spaces; occasionally, on a Saturday around noon, you have to park outside the parking lot (close by though), which is okay if you know what to expect. I usually only get a few things (e.g., produce, nuts, sparkling water, etc.) so it's not my main shopping destination, but the pleasant ambience keeps me coming back for occasional trips. read more

I really like this store as a good alternative to the types of food you can find at Shoprite/Pathmark. I don't think it holds a candle to a place like Whole Foods, but Trader Joes has some great prices for great products. The store itself is always kept in great condition and everybody has always been friendly. They will start trying to restock things about an hour before they close (like all supermarkets tend to do) so if this kind of thing is a problem for you then I'd recommend that you do your shopping during the morning/afternoon if it's possible. I live in Manhattan but just happened to be in Scarsdale one day about two weeks ago and so naturally I shopped at the Trader Joe's store there. Living on the Upper East Side (where there is no Trader Joe's in a decent walking distance) has forced me to shop at any Trader Joe's wherever I happen to be. That day I was shopping with my husband who had his own cart. My cart was empty except for a thermal bag I carry with me when I'm shopping for any frozen food that I want to stay frozen while traveling. When I found my husband in the store, I started putting items into his cart, and at some point I must have abandoned my cart. And so I didn't realize until I got home that I left the thermal bag in the abandoned cart. That evening, I called the store and told the person who answered to be on a lookout for this bag. The next morning, I got a call from an employee who told me they found the bag. When I told him that I lived in Manhattan and didn't know when I would be back to Scarsdale, he said he'd hold it for me. The next day I got a call from Renee, who had been told my story and said that she had to be in Manhattan the following week, and that she'd bring the bag to the Trader Joe's on the Upper West Side. Renee called me the day she left it there, and I then picked it up. I am just so amazed at how the employees of the Scarsdale Trader Joe's store, but most of all Renee went out of their way to be so customer friendly. What's not to love about Trader Joes! I rave about this place to anyone I know. Cheap good quality some organically and all made in America. At this location the parking can be insane on the weekends. You'll be driving in circles for 5-10 mins looking for a parking space. Other than the parking I have no issues. I live one-half mile away, so I can go when it's not crowded. Everyone loves Trader Joes (although the produce could be better). Here is some parking advise if the lot is full: 1) Park in the Citibank lot across the street. However, beware of the guy in the security car. If he's there, you can't park in the lot. 2) If school is not in session, park in the school parking lot across the street. 3) Pass the store, and make a left turn. There are free diagonal parking spaces that are typically readily available. The exception is when there is a high school sporting event at the nearby fields. 4) Park in the Lord and Taylor parking lot across Route 22. You can cross at the light. Suburban residents are very spoiled when it comes to parking. Manhattan residents will walk 10 blocks (one-half mile) to their favorite stores. These parking alternatives are actually very close to the store. read more

Trader Joe's is one horrible store. Where do I start? The parking lot in Eastchester is an utter mess. God forbid that anyone should have to park anywhere but directly across from the store which means backing up traffic into the street. Many of the items are not on the shelves. Looking for a rain check, good luck! They don't do that there. They sell gluten free products, but they're all high in either sugar or sodium or both. A lot of the food items have been recalled, good luck again! The employees leave a lot to be desired. I once bought bananas. After having paid, I realized that I was charged for 88 bananas! I immediately went back to have the error corrected. Rather than an " I'm sorry, my fault entirely", no no no, I was criticized for not noticing this at the time. How brazen! Had enough? Here's some more. I bought items amounting to $49.50. I gave the cashier a $100 bill and 50 cents in change who checked out the bill and said it was OK. As I left the store, I was accosted by another employee who had a large man with her. She said I needed to use smaller bills. Nothing like treating your customers like low level criminals! I gave the groceries back to which she returned the $100 bill but kept the 50 cents. Thanks alot! Stay away from this store! read more

I truly believe Trader Joe's is just "OK." I don't think it's merits the hype it receives. I just come here for the Milton Wheat Bread. There is also a hoity toity attitude that seems to follow these organic/gourmet stores that I try to overlook and ignore (Are you listening, Whole Foods?). They have a great cheese selection, though...Lots of parking and this is one of the least crowded Trader Joe's I've been to. read more

Liking the food they have. You can get some great healthy alternatives to what you normally find in Supermarkets. If you're looking to binge but want half the calories, Trader Joes has some great cookies (As well as Sugar Free Express). I usually go to the trader joes on 14th or 72nd st in the city but I also frequent this one. It's small and parking can be a hassle on the weekends (do NOT park across the street at the bank. The security guards are on the look out if you're not a bank customer). It gets pretty crowded but I know where everything is already so I make my way around quickly so I can get out of there. I somehow get the same cashier 90% of the time. She's very nice but she's very talkative and I'm not always in the mood for a lengthy comment on all my products. Anyway, I love trader joes! read more
