I'm torn because I love this store so so much but the mask wearing needs to stop. I've heard horror stories about traders and how they are mercilessly and relentlessly forceful. And they sure are. We have no rights in that store. I don't care if a store says putting a banana up my butt keeps me and others safe and that it's required.... no one is in charge of our safety except ourselves! Hardly ever out of what I'm looking for while Fry's and Walmart always is. That's surprising considering this place is known for its niche snacks and stuff like that. Just wish they had some kind of points or rewards system. Their produce and herb selection is always great. A very clean store too. read more

I had only been to a Trader Joe's maybe 2-3 times in my life before I moved to Surprise. It was so long ago, I forgot how awesome Trader Joe's is! We have one on the opposite end of Surprise, and it is well worth the drive over here. This Trader Joe's is a tad on the small side, but they are always in stock with whatever you need. Some of my favorite things that I have purchased from Trader Joe's............... - Pot Stickers- Absolutely awesome! - Salsas- Green Hatch Chile and their refrigerated Salsa Verde. - Cookies- Thin coconut cookies to their butter waffle cookies, all have been great! - Cookie Butter- Throw that stuff on anything and it tastes great! - Organic tortilla chips- Not too shabby for a store brand! Service is always friendly, the store is always clean, and the prices are fair! I will continue to come back to this store when I need/want certain items! Trader Joe's is great! read more

This location is incredible. Its very clean and always organized. I wanted to highlight the staff tonight on 7/18. After getting to my car I had realized that I lost my car keys. Literally one by one all the employees jumped in to help me find the keys. One gentleman (didnt get his name) was even on the floor looking underneath shelves. After what seemed like forever, Judy found them in the bottom of a flower bucket!!! Every single person on staff was helping out i am so grateful. The night crew tonight rocked. Went the other day after finding out about their skincare line. Due to all the hoopla I think they close earlier than usual, I of course show up 10 minutes before closing at 7. There is a line formed out front. Oh no. About 3rd in line. All standing well over 6 feet apart and minding our own business. I stressed maybe not getting a chance to even go in this close to closing. The line was not the problem I anticipated with my always expecting the worst possible situation. Wasn't outside the door longer than 5 minutes before the very nice big man manning the door granted me access. But not before offering a pump of hand sanatizet which he was holding onto. I found the skincare quickly. Small quarters. Every item seemed to be basically fully stocked in the store. 2-3 empty shelf's. But very relieved it wasn't a deserted wasteland like some unnamed big box chains. It seemed like all the customers were extremely self aware of distancing and respecting fellow shoppers space and health. Oh yes, so it's well past 7 by now the store is pretty busy. I grab my last spur of the moment box of cookies and am checked out quickly and safely. The staff was pretty awesome for the crap they are putting up with right now. It's been awhile since I'd been to Trader Joe's, and idk why. I forgot how greT that store is. Oh and my skincare, love it. Tea treeBody wash & face wash Eye cream. Face lotion. Jojoba oil pure. Hair serum. Yea tree oil pure. Love it. Amazing prices for decent skincare. Only product My oily skin didn't love was the tea tree oil face cleanse. More for normal to dry skin. Definitely going back to try more products though. read more

Trader Joe's - 5 stars Location: Grand and Parkview in Surprise. Easy access from either road. Plenty of parking. Atmosphere: Welcoming and friendly. I'm always greeted when I walk through the door. It's nice. Cleanliness: Always clean. Never a piece of squished produce on the floor ever. It's the opposite of the Walmart produce department. Even the restrooms are clean and cute. There's a sign over the mirror in the ladies room that says "Smile, you're beautiful!" That's pretty cool. Service: The friendly crew members are approachable and willing to help you find something or sample the delicious featured snacks and coffees. Products: Quality products that are organic and grown with care. My go-to items when I shop here are avocados, bananas, butter lettuce, Manchego cheese, almond butter, raw almonds, dark chocolate almonds, dark chocolate peanut butter cups, coconut milk, coconut oil, and Kerrygold Irish butter. And wine. They always have tons of great wines. Price: Not nearly as expensive as you might think. I always scoffed at those fancy rich folk who shopped at places like Trader Joe's and Sprouts. Those uppity bitches are just buying organic 'cuz it's trendy. Eh, well, maybe they were, but this market has great food and excellent prices and you never have to question the quality. Great location! Never too busy, everyone is very helpful and the selection is great. I've been there in the summer and there were only a handful of people in the store! That's a rarity for Trader Joe's!! Be sure to check dates on produce though. Turnover can be slower during the summer months. read more

I USUALLY like Trader Joe's. The employees are USUALLY nice. Almost every time I shop here and attempt to talk with the cashier or ask employees questions, I leave feeling slightly humiliated. It's as though they don't really want to be bothered. If there's a cashier AND someone bagging my groceries and they're chatting amongst themselves and I try to join the conversation, I'm looked at like I'm an idiot. I realize it's because of the State and the Area I live in and I can't change people, but I can certainly voice my disapproval. This Trader Joe's is small but clean and well stocked. The staff is very friendly. I love the selection they have since my diet is very limited and this is one of the few places I can find options for myself that are free of additives, preservatives, dyes and emulsifiers. The prices are reasonable as well for what you get. I wish it was bigger, like add more food items to the wine and beer side (the wine and beer selection takes up 1/4 of the store). read more

Holy Mole! I just got sucked into an unbelievable vortex of Senior Citizens.. Mental Note never go here on a weekend again possibly never. Yikes , I am still shaken up. Okay so I am driving back from purchasing my cow ..yes I said cow , actually a quarter cow...anyhoo. Driving back down Grand Ave . and what do you know a big beautiful Trader's right in the middle of nowhere. I think aaaha ..now I don't have to stop at the Arrowhead one..Sweet. But from the moment I got there there were these old people everywhere walking in the middle of the road, blocking the carts. In the aisles completely standing there like a deer in the headlights. Ug. I know that they need things too , and I am so glad for their sweet old bodies to get some healthy stuff, but for the love of Pete move over . Let a gal thru. And does it really take five of you to stand in front of the shelf to find one jar of Pesto? I am sure Trader Joes had many lovely yummy items but I couldn't find them .I literally gave up grabbed some green onions , waffles and some yogurt for hubby and boogied out of there. This Trader Joe's is WAY better than the one at Arrowhead! Parking is plentiful and easier. This store is also bright and cheery, not a dark cave like the Arrowhead location. The other thing I really like about this location was it wasn't crazy busy like the Arrowhead Trader Joe's. It faces away from the street, so it might be missed driving along Grand, I accidentally stumbled upon this TJ's when I was next door at GOODWILL. read more

Which is awesome for someone like me with an MSG allergy. The prices are not bad at all considering the fact that you are buying all natural and organic food. Man I hate this store with all that I have. Wide isles huh, yeah sure. You can not get up and down an isle to save your soul. I hate the other shoppers, they come in and act as if they are in a museum looking over things that have never seen the light of day. Good God pick it up put it in your cart and move on. The product; a bunch of stuff no one should ever eat. It is just all too silly. Checking out, oh what an ordeal. It makes no difference if only one person is in front of you; it is going to take much too long with the chit chat between the cashier and customer. The lack of coordination in getting the food out of the cart and in to the personal canvas bags is astounding. wait for the fool to run back and pick something else up at the end of the transaction then you wait for them to get their card out to process a payment. If I am ever again forced to venture in to one of these stores I am going to throw a hissy fit and wait in the car. Man I hate this store. read more

I like to think of Trader Joe's as a "specialty food/health market." It is simply in a league of its own when compared to large commercial grocery chains. Honestly, there is no comparison! With that being said, this is the BEST Trader Joe's I have been too! (and I have shopped quite a few in my travels across the US) The sheer size of this store, in TJ standards, is IMPRESSIVE! The isles are plenty large enough for TWO people (with carts) to maneuver through. And more importantly EVERYTHING looks fresh and delectable! Some of my fav's are: $3.99 Trader Joe's Coastal Cab...FABULOUS for the price! (Quite honestly though, I haven't EVER had a bad wine at Traders...they have an amazing selection that isn't overwhelming but isn't sparse either.) I also LOVE that they CLEARLY label each of the wines and/or regions so they are quick and easy to find! The Haircot Verts (French Green Beans) are simply delicious! Their Brussel Sprouts are the perfect size and quantity; just enough for two people at two different meals. They even have Nulaid "Ready Egg" (i.e. egg beaters) for $3.69! At the grocery store the SAME stuff will cost you TWICE that!! Their cheese selection is delightful with almost ANY kind of cheese imaginable! Their artesian breads are so yummy...although not a "low fat/fat free" food, so that is a once every few months splurge. (and even then we only get the small loaf (which I want to say is called a "little bastard." That name CRACKS me up!) And although I am not a "sweet" eater, my hubs is...so he has a dozen or so goodies that he constantly gets here. The one I can think of off the top of my head are their Chocolate Covered Joe Joe's with Peppermint Crumble (or something like that.) I'd go look at the box but we are fresh out because the hubs thinks that eating one box over a two-three day period is acceptable! It also fun to be rewarded for bringing your own reusable bags; as any good eco-friendly shopper would do! There is a weekly drawing for a TJ's gift card (I think the value is $25) and you get a ticket when you bring your own bags. (not one for each bag...just one ticket for bringing them to put your goodies in) Then they draw a name out of all the tickets (which you drop in a box on your way out of the store) once a week. If you shop more than once a week, you can "earn" a ticket for each time you shop there in a week therefore increasing your chances of winning. (although I am PRETTY sure the majority of Surprise/Sun City Grand shop there so maybe the odds aren't THAT great! ) Regardless, this is just a great little "market" through and through. I used to get excited to shop at TJ's...now I am always looking for an excuse to buy something just so I can go there! (and it's not just to try and win the gift card either..that's an added bonus!) read more

Trader Joe's is awesome. Great produce, bread, beer, wine, cookies... all kinds of stuff! Also fresh flowers and the best chocolate. Great prices. Unique stuff. My favorite is the arrabiatta sauce. It's the only pasta sauce we will use! I just discovered the cookie butter cheesecake which is to die for. You can find it in the frozen section for ~$7 for a whole cheesecake (is small but we cut it into 8 pieces). I love that they have seasonal offerings like the variety of pumpkin spice things in the fall! I also go here every year for Christmas gifts, they have a unique selection of chocolates and other treats that are always popular... and won't break the bank. read more

LOVE Trader Joe's...any of them! This one is pretty off the beaten path of "Surprise" AZ, but well worth the trek as its not that busy and the customer service is personal. The manager stopped and talked to us for a while as he noticed the HPU (Hawaii Pacific University) shirt my hubby was wearing and come to find out we had some states in common. Super nice guy. But yeah, the products are great, cheap and as everyone knows the best thing about Trader Joe's? Loveeeeeee this place! Their food and produce are excellent, the employees are super friendly! We love our weekly shopping trips here! If you want fresh, not a main stream grocery store organic, you need to come here! As an added bonus, they have amazing wines for cheap! I normally end up with at least one new bottle! Why not?!? I'm a big fan of smaller grocery chains that aren't looking to make huge profits and offer great quality food, so I enjoy shopping here. The wine sales are awesome and they have quite a variety that is well organized. I love buying orchids here and other cut flowers. They are great quality, fresh, healthy, and they last longer then others I've bought from different stores. I also love the heirloom tomatoes, TJ vegetable juice, goat milk, Jo jo's (like Oreos but without any trans fat and real vanilla bean cream), lady fingers for tiramisu, challah for french toast, and so much more. There's always new products to try and the have tons of great frozen items as well. The staff is always friendly and the store is clean. It's a great place to shop! read more

This is one of my favorite stops in Surprise. I don't do all of my grocery shopping here, mainly because I never think of it as a grocery store. Although, it does have just about everything I would need to do my shopping. But I am a huge fan of their frozen food section. I know that sounds really lame, but they have some great tasting food that is incredibly easy and quick to prepare. I find myself forgetting about this store, because it is out of my way. But, whenever I am in the neighborhood, you can be sure I will be stopping in to stock up! read more
