This is my go-to Trader Joe's! The one on Manhattan Beach Blvd is pretty much the same distance away from where I live, but I prefer this location since it's in the same plaza as Marshall's and Homegoods, and I like stopping by those places before doing my grocery shopping. Also, this location has tons of parking since there are many places in this plaza. The parking area immediately next to Trader Joe's takes a bit of getting used to, since there's a little way one area, but I've never had a problem finding a spot, and even if you can't find a spot right next to TJ's, there's definitely parking in the vicinity. I love LOVE love Trader Joe's. I usually come here every week or every couple weeks. I can go on and on about all my favorites here, but that'd just be way too much to write. I love that their produce is packaged and cleaned and pretty much ready to be eaten/cooked. I like their kale for smoothies as well as their prepackaged salads. I do feel that their meat selection is limited and on the pricy side, and prefer Sprouts for meats. I do love their frozen foods, which always taste of high quality and are delicious. They have an amazing wine collection here as well. And pretty flowers. So much to buy here! read more

Okay Trader Joes. I still love you, but I think my heart breaks a little every time they discontinue or change a product. It all started with the Muffaletta (sp?) olive spread and I cried a little. This is my favorite Trader Joe's location! There is ample parking here, unlike most Trader Joe's I've been to, and as always, you have: 1. Incredibly friendly and helpful staff that always make my shopping experience wonderful, no matter how long the lines are. 2. Great prices for a wide range of healthy products that would normally cost you 100% more at Whole Foods or any other health food store. 3. Samples - especially their coffee products. This has been my "go to" Trader Joe's. The parking lot is easy to get in and out of of. All Trader Joe's are very similar in their layout and what they offer. I love their frozen foods. They have so many choices that can be whipped up quickly. Most of their products are really good. I think that their breads expire quickly so I always refrigerate the bread right away. The staff here is super friendly and helpful. And the checkout always go super fast. I really like this location and try and always come to this one. read more

I feel like I have to learn all the employees' names and give them hugs and hi fives every so often! They're THAT great! This past weekend, I was rushing to do last minute errands. At the check out I realized I needed 1 more bag of meatballs and 2 rolls of quarters as cashback. Now mind you, the employees are not obligated to do anything (especially give me 2 rolls of quarters cuz they're not a bank!). What my cashier did was: called another employee to help me bring 1 more bag of meatballs (thank you!) and handed me 2 rolls of quarters. SLAMDUNK guys! My friend asked me about my trip to the grocery store. After rereading my response, I felt like it could be a review on Yelp! So here it is, unedited :) Trader joes has this whole loaf of bread that I love, it's organic, gluten free, and whole wheat. The only time I buy bread is when I can get my hands on this. Many times the manhattan beach store doesn't have any and I have to go without or I've gotten there too late and they've sold out(I'm not sure if you've ever been to trader joes around 8:30pm-9pm but it looks like the place has been ransacked. There is almost nothing on the shelves. This is bad because I don't get what I want but good because this lets me know they restock fresh items everyday) sorry for the tangent, but yes, this bread is the (insert iphone terd emoji here). read more

Anyone who shops at any Trader Joe's location, and shops often, knows it's a great store. They definitely hold up to their reputation. I love Trader Joe's, no matter which location. Although, just recently, I learned my favorite treat is no longer available at any location and has been discontinued! Dried crispy lightly salted green beans ....I will forever miss you! I love this Trader Joe's. Tons of ample parking which is why I prefer it over the one on aviation/manhattan beach blvd. The employees here are so nice!! Huge aisles and it's never crazy busy during the times I like to go to. I do think in general Trader Joe's is more expensive for meats than say, Jon's market or Costco, so I tend not to buy my meat from here, but for fruits, veggies, and Trader Joe's brand items it can't be beat. I love shopping here and I probably get 70% of my groceries from Trader Joe's. Their orchids and flower bouquets are such a good price and make perfect gifts. And the wines and beers are very well priced. Everybody knows Trader Joe's, everybody shops here, and most people will continue to shop here there are not too many more accolades I could sing about this place;) read more

I threw out the chicken salads. So awful!!! Then I tried the sliced mangoes... blah...not ripe & hard as a rock!!! Whatever I used to like about this store is no more. Won't be parting with anymore of my money at any of your locations. The food is now officially just a toss into the trash can. Plus, the parking is horrendous! The actual parking lot had spaces but you cannot get into it due to the steady line of angry motorists who won't let you through. In-N-Out has a great solution, they have people directing traffic to guide their guests & make it worth coming in for dark chocolate bars. read more

We had to stop by this location of Trader Joe's to grab a few things and were very happy with how management is keeping both their employees and their customers safe during the shelter in place. They are very strict about how many customers can be in the store at a time, they make sure customers are staying 6 feet apart both while shopping and while standing in line, they have plastic at the registers to prevent spreading germs, and they spray down the shopping carts. I have been to other locations that do not enforce these rules, so I greatly appreciate this store's hard work. read more

I prefer this location to the other TJ locations that I am familiar with in my area and it is for a few reasons; better parking, really friendly staff, the store is always well stocked AND most importantly the products are rotated here!!! Everyone I have ever met in this Trader Joe's is very friendly, helpful, courteous, and kind. This review is so short that it probably shouldn't even count... however, I'm still going to yelp about it since I was here... but no worries... I got a long review on the way for those who don't mind to be bored out of their minds by me! =P Trader Joe's! Who doesn't like this place! Organic, small local neighborhood market feel, friendly staff, and all sorts of interesting things to look at! Some of my favorites.. premade salads, cheeses, frozen goods! Salads they took my favorite one out (regular TJ's Southwest Salad, cheeses, just pick any one of them up as they are all pretty tasty, and frozen goods... try their cakes, TV dinners, ice creams, etc.! All really good! (especially the mini party tacos! Bake them for 20 minutes and the party is ready to go!) P.S. They've got SAMPLES here!!! You know how I feel about samples! Parking "can" get hectic... but there are ample parking around the area in a nice big strip mall. Just be cafeful backing up... too many people walking around and so many simply don't have eyes... so defensive driving is the key here otherwise you'll be backing up to a human speed bump! This Trader Joe's location used to be my go-to whenever I was in the South Bay. Though the store was often busy, I always seemed to be able to find everything I needed (this is where I bought my first jar of Cookie Butter ... several other locations were out!). I also like this location because there's ample parking, since TJ's is in a plaza. I don't shop too often at Trader Joe's, since I end up getting more snacks than actual groceries. But here are some of my guilty pleasures--er, recommendations!--if you're looking for some good munchies: "Candied Pecans": These slightly sweetened pecans are great as salad toppings ... or for just snacking on. Watch out, though, cause you can easily eat an entire bag in one sitting (actually, that's true for a lot of these snacks). I like regular pecans, but I absolutely love the hint of sweetness that these candied pecans bring to the table. These are a classic that I often send home to my family because they love them just as much as I do. "Candy Cane Joe-Joes": This seasonal treat only comes out around Christmas time, and boy, do they go fast! Joe-Joe's are Trader Joe's version of Oreos, and they do taste pretty similar (except TJ's version is supposedly made with fresher, healthier ingredients). They're just as addictive! This holiday treat features crisp chocolate cookies coupled with vanilla cream that's studded with real candy cane pieces. While I prefer the original Joe-Joe's, I always get a box of these for my cousins during the holidays ... they love that hint of peppermint in the vanilla cream filling. "Milk Chocolate Covered Potato Chips": Salty, sweet and crunchy all at the same time, these milk chocolate-covered wonders are probably my latest addiction (and most recent discovery), in terms of snacks at TJ's. Talk about addicting! While some might think these treats are too salty, I find them to have the perfect blend of saltiness and sweetness, thanks to the creamy, substantial layer of milk chocolate coating. At first, I was afraid that these chips would be too salty as well (I'm not a huge potato chip fan, and it's something I have to be in the mood for). However, these milk chocolate-covered potato chips were a pleasant surprise -- the milk chocolate layer is pretty thick, resulting in a denser, thicker potato chip. I think the longest a bag has lasted in my apartment is three days ... and that was stretching it. Granted, the small bag comes only half-full of potato chips, but it isn't hard to demolish the contents in one or two sittings. "Milk Chocolate Covered Peanut Butter Pretzels": This was the first snack I tried from Trader Joe's. One bite of these addicting morsels and I was hooked ... I literally ate my first bag in one sitting. These bite-sized snacks feature square-shaped pretzels filled with all-natural peanut butter and are coated in milk chocolate. They're the perfect chocolate-peanut butter combo. I usually prefer soft pretzels over hard pretzels, but this snack from Trader Joe's is the exception. NOTE: Currently, TJ's is out of stock of these delicious treats! I haven't been able to find them on store shelves recently, and I finally asked one of the TJ's workers about them, and he told me that they're out of stock until further notice! While I'm disappointed, that's probably better for my waistline ... and I do have my newfound potato chip snack to keep me preoccupied, in the meantime ... "Mac & Cheese Bites": Great as an appetizer if you're having guests over for dinner or for a meal in itself, these "Mac & Cheese Bites" remind me of my favorite version from The Cheesecake Factory. They feature a rich, creamy mac & cheese concoction rolled into balls and lightly breaded. They're super easy to make -- just pop them into the oven and follow the instructions to bake and serve. I love the golden-brown breaded shell and the extra crunch and texture that it provides. And of course, the gooey mac & cheese mixture on the inside will completely satisfy any cheese lover ... the most difficult part is having enough patience for these bite-sized balls to cool so you can actually eat them. "Way More Chocolate Chip Cookies": I only bought this cookie pack once from Trader Joe's ... because after I tried it, I knew how dangerous it would be if I kept on buying them! These bite-sized morsels are absolutely studded with chocolate chips, just the way I like my chocolate chip cookies. They aren't too crispy, either, even though they're pre-packed. These cookies sport the softer, crumbly texture that I prefer when it comes to cookies. "Mini Milk Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups": The taste is comparable to Reese's, but these square containers are great if you use these mini pb-cups as toppings for your yogurt or ice cream (they're larger than the smaller Reese's Minis pack). I can hardly tell the difference between the Trader Joe's version and the Reese's version. read more

For me, this locale of Trader Joe's is usually a convenient stop as I'm coming off the 405 Freeway and am heading back to Redondo Beach on Hawthorne Blvd. after my treks outside the South Bay. They have all the usual fare that TJ's stores carry and always seems filled with shoppers. Check out is a breeze as they have several check out stands and the staff are efficient in tallying up the cost of goods sold. On my last visit to the Trader Joe's in Manhattan Beach they were sold out of my favorite Trader Joe brand Organic Rice & Bean burrito which I love bringing to work for lunch or dinner. You honestly cannot beat this burrito they are Organic Pinto Beans and Organic Brown Rice wrapped in an Organic Wheat tortilla. I have seen this Trader Joe's several times in passing and not really sure why I have yet to stop here. Yesterday (07-20-12) I decided I work swing by this Trader Joe's and see what was what. I was pleasantly surprised to discover how large this Trader Joe's is, how much parking was available, how many check stands were opened and manned and how friendly the staff was to be working there. I was able to park and get in & get out quickly. I walked around a bit before leaving and found all my favorite items in stock. The bananas were green which to me ='s FRESH. They had Organic Gorilla Munch cereal stock and several others of my favorites. This Trader Joe's tends to be just about the same distance to the Trader Joe's in Manhattan Beach on Manhattan Beach Blvd & Inglewood from my residence so I think I will be giving this one a shot for a while. This Trader Joe's had a Trader Joe's full size surfboard set up at the entrance with cool little handy whips to wipe down your hand or push cart. This Trader Joe's is located in a HUGE parking lot with the UFC gym, Party City and several other HUGE building. I dug that the parking lot for Trader Joe's itself was cordoned off from the rest of the businesses so no matter the time of day you go there you will always find parking. In my opinion Trader Joe's is way better than Whole Foods and I will continue shopping here for basically 75% of what I need to live=) read more

Trader Joes is my home away from home. When I need a break from the usual lunchroom banter, I do a little grocery shopping on my lunch break. The staff is always working hard, and friendly. I also come here to get easy/healthy salads for lunch. I love the demos that they prepare here more than other locations. They always feature a new kind of coffee too. Over the years, i have had many favorites. Currently I am loving the Curried Tuna that comes ready to go in a pouch. Also, cant get enough 2 buck chuck. Other favorites include the low fat country italian salad, featuring only 300 cal with dressing and 9 grams of protein, hummum quartet, and the morpoix mix too cook a stew or roux with. I have to take a star away for their union-busting status. They should treat their employees better. read more

Unlike other Trader Joe's, this location has ample parking for regular size cars (not just compacts, no door dings here!) and the layout of the store is spacious! Founded many years ago on a mission to bring gourmet food and affordable wine to those with champagne taste on beer budgets (said another way,... typically educated but broke!:-) , this discount food retailer (believe it or not, they are cheaper than Ralph's, Von's and others) is one of a kind and a true gem....only here can you find English Cheddar with Caramelized Onions(sounds like a strange combo, but it's sooo good!) or Cilantro Jalapeno Hummus (try a little dollop on the lobster rolls, it's damn good!). This is one of the best TJ to shop at. It is very spacious, plenty of cashiers, well stocked, and because it is located in the plaza, there is ample parking. They have great prices and quality food. Trader Joe's - This makes the BEST French Toast - Grocery Near Me - Torrance, California

I love Trader Joe's and have been shopping at their stores since I was 16 in 1974. I've also mentored young people who became managers at TJ stores gaining valuable experience at a great company. However, a manager at this store handled something very poorly. So to make a point I'm giving this store a 1 Star rating to get the attention needed that how a legit issue was handled is NOT in keeping with Trader Joe's practices. I regularly buy the organic French Baguettes. In the most recent purchase it became very moldy in well under a week. So I looked at the package and there was no expiration date listed, nor anything stating how many days it was good. It also was in a fully sealed bag so it seemed it would last longer than the baguettes we all see at other supermarkets that aren't fully enclosed in a bag. Next time at the store (last night) after shopping I stopped by the managers booth and nicely brought the issue up. He told me - "They are supposed to be eaten the same day". So I asked the logical question - "Where on the package or shelf does it say that?" He acknowledged it doesn't. There was no apology, no offer of reimbursement (nor did I ask for a refund. Obviously it's not about the $1.99 but rather the principle...), no statement that he will follow thorough with upper management to put proper warnings on the packaging, nothing! As a 37 year commercial real estate broker who has worked with many companies in the food industry, this cavalier attitude is shocking for any company, but none as much as Trader Joe's - the king of great customer experiences! Further, imagine if someone got very sick from contaminated too old bread?! I don't know if green moldy bread can make you literally sick, but is it really worth the risk? And we've all heard of other food companies and farms who lost tremendous amounts of business after news of contaminated food became public. Also, virtually every food product we all buy from grocery stores has an expiration date, often years from now. So if any food deserves labeling an expiration date it's a food with a one day expiration! Bottom line - this manager needs a metaphoric kick in the ass! Maybe he should be forced to eat green moldy bread himself, and give it to his family as well. Maybe I'll bring a sealed bag of this green moldy bread to their Monrovia HQ and see if top management wants to eat it... read more

I know that I'm a big five star giver. I can't help it. When I feel as if I've been hooked up or had a surprisingly good turn done to me, I have no choice but to yelp about it. I actually just picked up some groceries here today and I'd like to recount a quick anecdotal story. The checkout guy is doing what checkout guys do...well, checking out my items. He grabs a liter bottle of strawberry lemonade (yup, that's right...you'd love a glass right now, wouldn't you?) Well, he glances at it and tells me, "You know this one looks like its been opened a little, and all that frothy stuff at the top means its probably not fresh." He then had a staff member run back and attempt to secure me a good one. Although there were none left, that was pretty cool. Try to get that from some Albertson's clerk. Well, before I go bagging on Albertson's clerks, let it suffice to say that they've always been pretty nice to me too. Maybe it's because of my incredibly attractive personality...I'm digressing again. Okay, back on track. All Trader Joe's have some fantastically special items for sale and almost all are healthy. That and you get to look at all the good looking healthy people who choose to shop here. Double bonus. Although I don't really fall into the healthy category, nor the good looking one, I still like to be a bit of a hanger-on and slide in here every now and again. Oh yeah, one more thing, the lady handing out samples of pink lemonade (not as good as strawberry, but a definitive close second) was very kind to my two little girls who are cute enough to have overcome their father's genetic physical failings. Kudos for child appreciation. Okay, in a nutshell, take yourself here if you're shooting down Hawthorne Boulevard going anywhere. Cool workers and a bitchin' selection of the natural foods as God intended. I have to agree that the customers that shops here are super rude, Yesterday I lined up and waited 15 minutes to get to the cashier. Exactly at the time when I got to the front of the line, the Japanese couple behind me loudly tells the cashier that they are next and that I had cut in front of them. There was no proof that I cut them, and if I did cut them, why didn't they just tell me where the end of the line was instead of being SO PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE for the last 15 minutes to humiliate someone in front of an audience, and I felt like an asshole and had to wait another 15 minutes to get back in another line. The cashier did nothing, said nothing, and just rang that Japanese family up. What a load of bullshit. There are definitely other TJs I can go to, this one I won't be going to anymore.
