This is such a cute brunch spot--the view is absolutely amazing, the customer service is great, and the food is truly to die for! They're open all day, so you can come in for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, which makes it super convenient. As soon as you walk in, you'll notice a beautiful display of wine bottles, and you can clearly see the full bar ahead--definitely sets the tone that the drinks are going to be just as good as the food. Fabiola was our waitress, and she was incredibly sweet and attentive. She answered all of our questions (and we had a lot!), making the whole experience even better. We all started with coffee--because how could we not at breakfast? Unfortunately, their espresso machine wasn't working, so I went with a regular black coffee with creamer. It was actually pretty good! We didn't order any appetizers, but they have plenty of great options to choose from. For my meal, I ordered the ribeye sandwich, and wow--the meat was so tender and juicy, full of flavor, and the portion was perfect. I could honestly eat this every day. My sister had the chilaquiles, which were highly recommended by the staff, and they definitely lived up to the hype. The only thing is we wished they were a little more saucy, as they were slightly on the dry side. My sister-in-law ordered the big breakfast, which comes with two of everything--huge portions and definitely worth it. Now let's talk about the pancakes... they offer both regular pancakes and Mexican-style pancakes, which are thinner--but honestly, so much better. I cannot stress enough how amazing they were. I absolutely fell in love and would come back just for those alone! Overall, such an amazing place. Highly recommend!

The service was great, I feel like all service in Oxnard is amazing bc the people themselves are so nice. The food...maybe we ordered incorrectly, but I had the pork Chile verde which was a little too sour for me. The Mexican rice and beans were great. My fiance had the seafood pasta which was ALL CREAM, could have been more seafood for the price...but it was so heavy like 3/4 cream and even the bread was doused in butter. The side soup was a beef broth which was also super salty. We did get the wings for the appetizer which came out piping hot and were fantastic, but the size were incredibly small for wings. Our waiter heard it was my fiancés birthday and surprised us with a dessert which was nice!

I wanted to give this place a visit when I drove by it just recently. I spotted it for the first time after driving by on my way to the beach. The place is located on a shore with the ocean as the view outside. Weather is always breezy here. The service when entering was excellent. Humberto was our server and he kindly seated us. He asked us if we enjoyed the food etc. was pleasant and easy to talk to. We liked that. It's clean inside and roomy, many people were there on a Friday afternoon. They had a lot of good choices on the menu but all were approaching $20. Pricey for sure. The food ordered was an omelette with potatoes o Brien. The other was a breakfast burrito with fruit. Both about $20 each more or less by a dollar off. The drink ordered was a coffee and water. The coffee was $4 and bitter. It was from a plastic container not fresh. I made a mistake I blame myself for ordering this without checking. It didn't exist in the menu as a hidden item. Overall $50 after tax and tip. It was overpriced but the experience of the ambiance, view of ocean and service compensate for this negative aspect.

So i'm freezing and hangry looking for some warm food. We find this place and we're like okay! So we order some food and stuff and it's okay. Yk it's just okay. It tastes good but not great and the portions are pretty big but yea it's pretty okay. I do recommend splitting meals. Oh and the service is okay. Not like awesome but everyone's nice and stuff. So yea, there you go. I ordered the seafood linguine and it kinda lacked seafood and was creamier then expected. But yea so i wouldn't come again but i wouldn't say it was horrible.

Enjoyed a great lunch today! My wife sears this is the best tuna melt in Ventura County! I went with the Tradewinds salad. Fresh lettuce and ahi tuna, made for the perfect meal. Added balsamic dressing for a zesty taste. Just make sure to arrive by 2pm. The team does a change over to start the evening at 4pm. Staff is warm and welcoming. See you all there soon!!

Stopped in for lunch today at Tradewinds. We started with drinks, chips and guacamole. Kristin provided quality service and was professional and kind. My wife had the grilled chicken sandwich and I had the tuna melt. The ambiance, food and service were very good. Highly recommended.

Excellent dinner! And shout out to Paco for his amazing service! Very friendly and attentive... Such an awesome location overlooking the tradewinds marina and we were able to chill and watch the Dodger game... Great little spot! My husband loved the Chile Verde and my penne alfredo primavera was awesome! I had a side salad with it and it was so fresh and crispy! Ended up taking home more than half of my pasta, very large portion, looking forward to eating that tomorrow! Highly recommend!

We visited this little off the beaten path restaurant on a Saturday morning. Seated next to the window for a picturesque view of the harbor and a wide variety of boats. We opted for the Eggs Benedict and a mimosa, both quite good. Afterwords we took a nice long walk to enjoy the views. Wait staff friendly and efficient. We will definitely stop by again when visiting the Channel Islands.

I read several reviews that recommended ordering from the Traditional Mexican Food section of the menu, so that's exactly what I did. Great advice because the Green Chicken Enchiladas I had were outstanding. Covered in a delicious green sauce (surprise!), those enchiladas are filled, actually over-filled, with a moist and deeply flavorful chicken. I say over-filled because they were so meaty I only finished one. I suppose I could've eaten the other one, but then I'd be over-filled. Lol. As you might expect, the Green Chicken Enchiladas come with rice and beans, both of which were above average. I wish tortilla chips were served with the dish, but other than the two chips used as a garnish for the beans and rice, they weren't. There are so many tempting items on the menu I can't wait to return. I'd really like to find out what those Rib-eye Tacos are all about. As I was leaving one of the owners asked me how everything was. I told her how much I loved those Green Enchiladas. She nodded and told me she loved them too. She said she had had them for her dinner earlier that night. I nodded in appreciation and thanked her for the hospitality. I like that they serve espresso drinks here. I tried a latte. It was excellent. The availability of excellent espresso here makes me think my next visit to Tradewinds Cafe & Bar will be for breakfast. Mikey C says: definitely coming back to try the Huevos Rancheros!

Excellent anniversary dinner highlighted by Nate's exceptional service! My wife and I visited Tradewinds for the first time on Wednesday evening to celebrate our first anniversary as a married couple. Nate greeted us at the door, and sat us quickly at our table. We made it just in time for happy hour and started off with their Chips and Guacamole, which was a solid portion and good start to our dinner. We opted for a bottle of La Marca Sparkling to enjoy with dinner, which was refreshing and presented nicely. We shared the chicken piccata and shrimp scampi for dinner, with both dishes featuring a linguine lightly mixed in with capers and a white wine sauce. A lighter flavor forsure, but I enjoyed it. The chicken and shrimp portions were both generous. Each entree came with choice of a soup or salad, we chose the clam chowder and their house salad with ranch. Both were good to start our meal. The finishing touch for our dinner was a surprise dessert brought to us by Nate, churros with ice cream. The churros were warm and soft, with a nice drizzle of caramel and tres Leches on top. The ice cream was very sweet, but it was an excellent compliment to the churros! Thank you Nate and Tradewinds Cafe & Bar for an excellent anniversary dinner! My wife and I will definitely be returning to try some of the sandwiches and Mexican dishes on the menu!

If you're looking for an ambiance welcoming place to take your family I highly recommend this restaurant . The staff and vibe the food was a great experience. Humberto is such a great host/waiter he made us feel like family his Ora and funny personality was so fun to have around I was looking for a place for my mother in laws birthday and this place was so great and accommodating for a party of 10 guest we got to sit in a beautiful private room and celebrate my mother in law's birthday 10/10. Rib Eye sandwich with onion rings
    Tan P.

I had a Toastmasters holiday lunch here recently and enjoyed the experience, food, and service. The brunch burger is large and tasty, but not as good as their ribeye sandwich. Their onion rings are on point. They're service friendly with our party of 11, but they were not able to do separate checks for all of us. The private room requires reservation and provides privacy when the door is slid closed. Highly recommend if coming with a large group.

Didn't love . Would not order again.

Service is absolutely the best . We watched the bartender work her magic. She is a star ! We sat at the bar and celebrated my amigas' birthdays. It was pretty busy on a Monday. Every table was taken. Yay, so happy for them. Great to see they're doing great! My friends liked their fish taco and chimichanga plates. I didn't like the burger. The fries were limp, not crispy. I am more a fan of their breakfast. I've tried the nachos and tacos for Happy Hour and not a fan. I saw others ordering the nachos on HH, so I know people love them. Beautiful restaurant. I don't think they're price gouging as I saw others comment. I really think they try their hardest to have a little of everything for everyone. The location is prime. They really take great customer service to heart and it shows.

We expect a certain standard, a level of care that borders on obsession. So when I catch Evan Williams--respectable, questionable, but barely twelve bucks a bottle--making an appearance behind the bar, it feels like a breach of trust. A quiet betrayal under low lighting. The illusion only works if the details hold up under scrutiny... and that pour? It broke the spell. And then comes the real offense: discovering that your Old Fashioned--the crown jewel of any respectable cocktail program--are built on bottom-shelf, dust-collecting bourbon. That's not just a letdown, it's a slap in the face. A cocktail like that deserves reverence, not shortcuts. And as if to twist the knife, there it was--a massive can of red maraschino cherries sitting shamelessly atop the bar, like some relic from a dive that's given up on finesse. It wasn't just a misstep. It was disrespect. In a place claiming the speakeasy mantle, details like these matter. They're the difference between theater and parody. The cocktails did not warrant the $15 price tag. Moreover, I would have paid more had I know the class of bourbon upfront. What ultimately redeems the space is its ambiance. The low flicker of the fireplace, the soft embrace of worn leather sofas, the curated hum of music floating just above conversation--it's seductive, even soulful. The room itself is small, intimate--the kind of place where you're bound to recognize a face, or at the very least, feel inclined to invite a stranger to share the sofa and maybe a story. And then there's the setting--tucked beneath a historic relic, a basement bar built into the bones of old Americana. The building dates back to the early 1900s, echoing with a past that deserves to be honored, not phoned in. That's exactly why I expected more from the cocktails. Save yourself the headache and eat somewhere else. -- We were told our wait would be approximately 15 minutes. It ended up being closer to 30. Once seated, things got even worse. We sat for roughly 15 minutes without anyone acknowledging our table and had to flag down two separate employees before we were assigned a server. Despite arriving over an hour before I needed to leave for a scheduled appointment, our food didn't arrive until approximately 11:35 AM. Spending over an hour at breakfast for a simple meal is unreasonable, especially at a resort restaurant where guests often have reservations and activities planned. Unfortunately, the food wasn't worth the wait. The chicken sausage arrived room temperature, and my pancakes were raw in the middle. Not undercooked--raw. After waiting over an hour for breakfast, receiving food that wasn't properly prepared was incredibly disappointing. As if that weren't enough, the restaurant somehow managed to charge our credit card twice while also posting the charge to our room. Resolving the error became an ordeal of phone calls, receipt photos, waiting for managers, and multiple follow-ups. What should have been a simple correction ended up taking a significant amount of our vacation time. The most frustrating part wasn't even the mistakes themselves--it was the lack of urgency in fixing them. Nobody seemed particularly concerned that guests were waiting excessive amounts of time, receiving improperly prepared food, or dealing with billing errors.

It was a fixed menu, but we were still able to choose our entrees. We started with a salad and lobster bisque, which was my first time trying it, and it was so good. For my entrée, I got the braised short rib and it was AMAZING--super juicy and full of flavor. I also ordered an espresso martini, which was delicious. I added a photo of our drinks because they were all so good. Dessert was a choice between tiramisu and cheesecake, and both were delicious. After dinner, we walked by the ocean next to the restaurant, which made the night even better. Definitely an amazing Valentine's dinner!
