My family and I eat there quite often. We do a lot of Sunday breakfasts and occasional lunch lunches. I have yet to have anything not be good. I try something different every time I go, but I'm hooked on their country fried steak and eggs. And their chorizo and eggs and their patty melts and I could go on and on, but I won't. Today I woke up feeling like eating something different. It's hard to get restaurants to mix it up so I decided to mix it up myself in hopes that no one would trip. I started by heading into Tradewinds and noticed that they have eggs Benedict on the menu. I also saw Chile Verde and well knowing that the owner is just as amazing as the food, I went for it and ordered my own creation: "Mex-Benedict" a blend of eggs Benedict and chile verde with a side of home potatoes! Combined that with fresh Cafe de Olla and a fresh squeezed orange juice and boom! One of the best breakfasts of my life happened before my own eyes! The location is just as amazing as the food and the staff well let's just say they are effective and timely! My cup was never empty! I just took my friend to Tradewinds Cafe & Bar for her birthday lunch. I ordered German Crepes and my friend ordered Denver Omelette (w/cheese), potatoes and 2 pancakes. The food was delicious. Then, the owner Julio and his staff brought a slice of cheesecake with a lit candle to our table and sang Happy Birthday. This is a nicely designed, comfortable restaurant - lots of tables. Prices are reasonable with very good service. The restaurant is right next to the Harbor - and it was a beautiful day!!!! From Victoria and Wooley - turn west on Wooley to Tradewinds Dr. - turn left onto the drive way, then right - it circles around - lots of parking. Easy to see the restaurant's signs. read more

I used to visit this place quite a few times when Reyna was the bartender and Julio and Lupita managed it. Since the management has changed and those 3 are not there this place has gone downhill with their service. The bartender is completely clueless. Reyna was able ro run that bar pretty much with her eyes closed and it was perfect. Julio and Lupita were always so personable and made it that family owned friendly environment. I will never be back here again and I do not recommend it unless you want crappy service and now mediocre food. They should never have let Reyna go. She was the best thing that happened there! She was always so welcoming and cheerful and made sure every customer was well taken care of. read more

This is a hidden gem in the Sea Bridge area off of Wooley Road. The brunch was delicious, and the portions were so generous that you could easily split one. Loved the omelette and home fries. Cozy ambiance with views of the channel. I will definitely come back to try their happy hours and dinners. read more

My husband and I went for Happy Hour. We were so happy to see that the place was packed! We need restaurants to survive. We had 5 chicken tacos ( that were not great) a wedge salad and 2 drinks. The tacos were balls of dry chicken very little raw onion and a small tortilla. It was missing a slaw and a sauce I would rather have 4 tacos that tasted better. Around us people ordered pasta dishes and steaks that looked very good. The drinks were so nice! I had a vodka drink that was similar to a lemon drop with added violet. It was really fun and very good! It was very noisy too! People were having fun which is wonderful but I hope they will have outdoor seating during the summer. read more

To start off with, I would normally give them a 5 star review because my husband and I have been there many times for happy hour, breakfast, lunch and dinner and we've always had great food and great service and have brought many family and friends there because of it. But what happened today just upset me terribly so I'm writing about my experience; today is my 78th birthday and over a week ago I called to reserve the small private room for a party of 9-10 people to celebrate and I was told the room was available and they took all of my information. We were looking so forward to it UNTIL I received a call at about 11:30 this morning to tell me that someone else had booked the room before me, they had just forgotten to write it down, so they would have to move us out into the restaurant!! How the heck do they know someone else booked it before me if they hadn't even written it down? When I asked, they said these people had prepaid; nobody asked me if I'd prepay to reserve it or I would have. Why did they get preference over me if it wasn't written down and mine obviously was or they couldn't have called me?? It didn't help that we've have had two deaths in our family in the past month and we really needed this night out with family and looked forward to it being a private room so it just really hit me wrong that this happened. The restaurant itself is nice but the acoustics are too loud to try to visit with 10 people so we weren't about to take that option. I'm sorry, but if they forgot to write the other person's info down but had mine listed as reserving it, it should have been our room. Most restaurants don't even take reservations anymore so it wasn't any fun trying to find a place last minute and then having to notify family but we did and we'll make the best of it but it will be awhile before I'll want to go back here. I still can't believe this happened. :-( read more

I was truly surprised and amazed at the quality of food, service and bar service. This place is amazing. The food is of high quality and taste. We had the rib eye steak, full size , where a lot of restaurants will give you a half size. We also had the rib eye tacos made with the actual steak! The tacos are huge too. Avoid this if you're looking for quality food. We gave this place a second and third try hoping to enjoy a lunch. The place is seemingly quaint with a full bar. The three of us were given a table and were comfortable to order. An order of egg crepes bacon , chicken and waffles, and the ribeye Sandwich. The eggs were not over cooked as ordered. The waffle was OKay but the chicken was crispy on the outside and frozen in the center. The Ribeye was very rare, when had been asked for medium. It all went back and when it returned it was a joking mess. Now overdone, soggy bread and sloppy. This was not the only time this place disappointed. There is no professionalism. Service was mindless. The cooks are careless. And management is just roping in a buck. Avoid this place. read more

Came upon Tradewinds while looking through Yelp for a dinner idea. I didn't know this location was in business again. They have not been open long. Ambiance is casual and relaxed. The menu is varied with a good mix of Salads, Mexican, American and Italian dishes. Lots to choose from for whatever your mood is for food. This night dinner for two was Crab enchiladas and Asada Quesadilla. Service was very good - Food was very good. Prices reasonable. Nice addition to the Oxnard dinner scene.
