Went for brunch on Father's Day Weekend. Despite the fact that it was busier than usual; we had the absolute BEST service from our waiter Humberto. He was Prompt, courteous and very polite. His attention to service was exceptional. He recommended a few plates and the cooks did not disappoint. like the food, like the service, prices are very very fair. Love it....But I can't give it 5 stars because it's so loud in there that I can't hear the people I'm sitting with. Even directly across the table from me, I cannot hear them....You can barely even hear your server. I would love to go there more often but it's just too loud. I've spoken to a lot of my neighbors and they all agree. So I know it's not me, my wife, or my daughter who we took there for dinner. Something needs to be done to absorb the sound. We love having this restaurant nearby, we love the people, and the bartenders and the servers and the food and the pricing and the location... Not very good overall. The service was extremely slow. Someone in my party asked the waitress what was in the mixed vegetables, and she didn't really seem to know which veggies were in there. The tuna melt was okay at best. Edible, but not something I'd crave. Even the free mints were somehow unimpressive. Tried this place for the first time. Came for lunch. Totally coming back. Lived up to all the hype. My tuna melt sandwich on rye was perfect. Toasty bread with nice and creamy tuna and meaty cheese. Generous portion but easy to manage as a sandwich. Side of fruit was super ripe and fresh. Hubby's Poblano soup was really good as was the turkey sandwich. Still in their "soft opening", but another great cafe for the locals to enjoy! Right on the Marina overlooking the harbor, with fresh water for all the doggos on the walking path. Inside generous and comfortable seating with flexibility to handle small and large groups. The food is varied and delicious, with all the breakfast favorites (that's when I visited). Today i experienced something very awful while dining with my partner. We tried to order a side of French toast FIVE MINUTES after breakfast was closed @3pm. They said they can't do it because breakfast ended, okay I understand that! BUT then a white couple walked in @3:30pm & were not only able to order breakfast after 3pm BUT ALSO got French toast that they said was unavailable to me 5 minutes after 3pm . Interesting.. We got there 5 minutes before happy hour ended and the hostess was nice enough to honor the happy hour menu. Great prices and selection including beer wine and mimosas. I had a huge bowl of delicious clam chowder and the vegan taquitos and couldn't even finish the portions were so big! My friends also enjoyed the salads and the crab cakes. I took my husband to Tradewinds Café for his 65th birthday party and Julio, the owner, was very accommodating for our reservation of 10 people, and they gave us their private room which was tastefully decorated. Our server was Alexis and the staff was stellar in helping her serve our party. It was nice that they had a sliding door that shuts to this room but is glass (since we were kind of loud) so you don't feel like you're shut in a box. Everyone had smiles on their faces and were happy to be there. I always see this as a sign of a good restaurant when it's well managed. The food was amazing! Their menu is very diverse, and I ordered appetizers for the table which included the chorizo bean dip and chips, the lumpias, and the fresh guac and chips. I had the crab enchiladas, served with rice and beans which was a generous serving and totally scrumptious. Others had the ribeye steak and shrimp, pork chops and mashed potatoes with gravy that looked delicious. (I stole a bite from my neighbor's plate when he wasn't looking.) Someone else had the chicken piccata, and there are so many more items on the menu that were hard to choose from. Not to mention the clam chowder, which is some of the best I've ever had. I can't say much about the desserts because we didn't have any as I brought my own birthday cake for my husband, which I made, and Alexis brought us a cake cutter plates and forks; she even thought of bringing a lighter to light the candles. Don't worry. I gave all of the staff a piece of cake which was cream cheese frosting and chocolate ganache. We ordered coffee drinks to go with our dessert and they came right away so the bar service is amazing. You should try the old-fashioned cocktails because the guys said they were really good and came with a smoked rosemary sprig. Don't miss this gem of a restaurant in our local area. We definitely wanted this place to work but it didn't. We eat out a lot. We went for early dinner and wanted margaritas with Patron, or Don Julio or Casamigos and asked for each one but they didn't have any of them. Low marks for a bar. Delicious! My husband and I were biking around the marina and we stumbled on this new cafe. The name is a little misleading as it's not just a cafe, it's a full restaurant. Feedback for ownerships because I heard a couple other people mention some confusion about it too. Anyways, we decided to stop by for an early dinner and the food was delicious! We ordered the crab taquitos, clam chowder, and ceviche. Portion sizes were great, quality of the seafood was awesome, and the speed was quick! The staff was very friendly, and overall we had a pleasant experience. It's on the pricier side, so it will be a place for date night, but we plan to return! I'm so torn. We finally tried this spot, which is walking distance from our house. The food was great and the host and buser were so sweet. The location is beautiful as well. The only downside was that our server was incredibly rude. She said maybe a total of 10 words to us the entire time and had such a bad attitude that it really ruined the meal for us. Made reservations for friends birthday dinner. Five people..when we arrived they had to shuffle tables together. Food was mediocre all the way around from Enchiladas to hamburgers to fish. I dont understand the hype about this place. Service was just ok. Prices were a but above average. Small interior. Wife's hamburger patty was raw and plates were not served at the same time. So one person had their food and others were incrementally served so we did not all eat at once. My Enchiladas were the worst ever, yucky sauce and unknown what was inside them-not edible. Friends steak was chewy and had bristle. Birthday girls fish was small and undercooked. Not a positive experience. We paid well over $160.00 without drinks. Me and my family love Tradewinds and all the staff! We come in pretty much weekly now. My servers are always super attentive and my drinks are always perfect. We get the ceviche every time we come in. This time I got the fish and chips and it was delicious. My friend got the Brunch burger that he enjoyed as well. Lunch and dinner never misses!! After having a decent breakfast here last week (3.5-4 stars) we walked over for happy hour on a Wednesday at 5pm. HH 4:30-6:30 M-F. The place was hopping. Very very noisy--after 3 or 4 remodels I'm amazed someone didn't do some "noise insulation". Service was very good. Lots of hard working, cheerful, helpful employees. HH prices are good but keep in mind like most happy hours the portions are 2/3 size for 2/3 price. We loved the house margaritas. Also the buffalo chicken wings were very good: real(bone in), meaty, moist(not overcooked), spicy but not too spicy. The avocado rolls were ok but kinda boring. The meat in the asada street tacos was subpar--grizzle, overcooked and I almost cracked a tooth on a piece of bone--we will try the chicken next time-safer. So 3.5/4 stars for the mixed experience/meal. we will try it again as the location for us is excellent read more
