Such an unexpectedly cool place. Came here with a group of friends during a long weekend stay looking for some coffee that was better than what we'd made in our Airbnb that morning. The vibes were great, felt like a great community atmosphere with lots of signs for local events. Everyone was super friendly and the menu had a big selection of both coffee and beer options. I had a very uncomfortable experience in this coffee shop on Halloween. My husband and I came to try it out, friendly and courteous as could be. The staff didn't return it to us. The cashier stared at my pregnant belly the whole time I was ordering, and several minutes later told me they were out of a flavor that they actually had in stock. I found it odd that she was discouraging me from getting up and returning to the menu (since I couldn't remember everything they had) and that's when I noticed it was in stock. However I played dumb and chose another flavor since her odd behavior alarmed me. Then, when my husband got up to get his drink, it was a medium even though he payed for a large. So, naturally, he brought it to the barista's attention - who treated correcting the mistake like an inconvenience. Can't give enough stars for this place. Derailer fell apart, 3 miles into a ride. After sitting down in the dirt and having a good cry, started to look up bike shops in the area. Called these guys they said come on in. We'll see what we can do. Within 15 minutes I was back on the trail. Still pretty shocked. On top of that the café looks killer. Food is awesome. I'm not going to lie, I wasn't expecting much from this place. But wow, was I surprised and my mind was changed at the first bite of the avocado toast. Not only was it pretty presentation but oh so delicious. The parfait was also phenomenal, I'd loved thegranola they use, the drizzle of honey, the seasonal fruit which in my case was strawberries and very creamy, not too sweet , and but not sour yogurt- just right. It's a little pricey, but at least it was good. I also had the Home made chai - perfection and what a way to welcome fall. I will definitely be back after a bike ride, such a treat. I'm new to Santa Rosa, and this place feels like a second home. I probably go there at least three times weekly. The combination of bike repair shop, espresso stop, pub, and cafe has the vibe of a community center with the occasional dog, small children (on weekend mornings before a T-ball game), and people of all ages conversing with each other or working on computers. The service is FAST; if one is in a hurry for an espresso drink, this is the place, and the lattes are excellent. The music is edgy but unobtrusive, as the volume is just right to allow conversation. The big screen that often displays anime cartoons, has no volume, just subtitles... again unobtrusive. I understand that the weekly trivia nights are very popular. The owner makes a point of learning the names of her customers...no small feat. Outdoor seating is available for warm weather. Restrooms are very clean. Even the landscaping outside is lovely. Trail House is a fun spot to grab a sandwich or a beer. I love the laid back vibe. They have a nice indoor space and I love that they expanded their outdoor space. I'm always pleasantly surprised by their delicious and substantial sandwiches. However, I've recently been disappointed by their coffee. They must be big fans of light roast, because the cup of coffee I ordered was so bitter and sour that this dark roast girl couldn't drink it. I asked the barista about it and she just told me it was supposed to taste that way. Not the most helpful staff! I recently went back for a latte. $4.75 for an 8 oz latte is on the higher end for Santa Rosa. Oat milk will cost you an extra $1.50. A tiny 8 oz oat milk latte comes up to $6.25 which I think is bananas. I also found the latte to be pretty bitter. Overall, I like Trail House as a pub, but I'll get my coffee elsewhere. read more

This place is more of a miss than a hit for me unfortunately. It has a lot of potential. You can find tons of parking in a huge lot shared by Mr. Pickles, Paradise Sushi, and more. Walking up you notice they have a huge outdoor covered patio equipped with heaters and tables. Inside you find more tables and a small bar top with lots of pretty plants surrounding the windows, local trail maps, and some tvs for games. You order at the bar and take a seat where ever you'd like. They have anything from espresso drinks to beer, salads and sandwiches to hot dogs and mozzarella sticks. Just passed the counter where you order you'll find a bike shop/ repair area for you to tune up your bike. Sounds like a cool spot, right?! My continual problem with the place is the food and drinks. They don't have many substantial options for vegetarians. I've tried just about everything that I can have and it's been nothing more than mediocre. I usually just stick to the GOAT salad and mozzarella sticks. The stick are whatever, but whatever it is with that salad, they're always out of one or two ingredients, just miss putting something in, or just waaaayy disproportioned. Overall it's just not worth the price. So many other better options not far. With the beer too, overpriced pints compared to other local tap rooms and half the time my beer taste flat or a little funky, such as old kegs or something. I didn't want to post here, but after sending several DM's to Trailhouse outlining my bad experience Saturday, watching each one "read" with no reply. Trailhouse...is a great location, but the true lack of customer service and the "bro attitude" is getting really old. There making money off the " bike lifestyle" wile being extremely rude to the customers spending their hard earned money with them. I stopped in Saturday on my way home from the coast to grab a beer and some food. Upon ordering I was told "our credit card machine isn't working" Ok I had enough cash on me to order a beer and some mozzarella sticks. After ordering I was told "I'll let you know when your food is ready" by the kid working the counter. I assumed this would not be too hard as their was maybe 5 customers max in the building at that time. I sat outside nursing my beer waiting for my food, after about 15-20min I stetted wondering if I was getting food at all. I walked in looking at the vintage bikes, kinda waking around trying to ask the kid at the counter of my food was ready. He was too busy talking to another customer to actually let me know was food was ready. After about 25Min and 3/4 of my beer gone I was online looking for an open restaurant to go get dinner at because it was obvious i was not getting fed at Trailhouse! I walked back in to drop off my glass and asked the kid at the counter "ever have any luck with those mozzarella sticks?" ...oh yea there sitting on the counter over there Turns out they had been sitting on the counter open to everything for over 30min. When I said something I was rudely told "you know this isn't a full service restaurant..right?" Yea you had ONE JOB, to just tell the customer his food was ready! I like the vibe and size of the space but like a few others have mentioned, the customer service is sometimes lacking. Don't know if it's just one dude who works there but I saw an employee flirting or hitting on some customer (initially thought the employee was a customer) and I've had to remind about my drink order twice while they were chatting with other customers about sports and stuff. I still go there because there aren't a lot of late night options for coffee but it's always a bit reluctantly because of these weird encounters that I and others have experienced. Arrived around 830 tonight, ordered two IPAs and sat outside. Cashier let us know they were doing a last call soon and we said it was no problem, we were one and done. As we sat down outside one of the employees was sighing and clearly annoyed as he was breaking down tables outside, to the point where I asked what time they closed (Google said 10). He, clearly frustrated, said "uh, technically for a Tuesday it's ten but we all leave by then", and walked away. His coworker, also working outside, was clearly embarrassed by this interaction and told us there was no rush and we had more than enough time to finish our half empty beers. I've worked years in the service industry, I respect and understand closing times and would never expect a bar to accommodate us because we arrived close to their closing time - that being said, we arrived over an hour before close so there was zero reason for one of their employees (older gentleman) to respond in such a rude manner. We live right down the street from here and wanted to check it out, both raised in the area, but we likely won't be returning. Wish I could give the cashier / kind employee 5 stars - but everyone else made this a poor experience. read more

Very disappointed that this business decided to raise their prices. A medium size latte is $5.50 and an extra dollar if you sub almond milk. It cost me $6.50 today and their prices are higher than any other coffee shop that I have been to in the area. Higher than many San Francisco spots! Maybe their prices are similar to coffee shops in New York City but for obvious reasons you can't compare the two. I love Acre coffee and I always thought that they were pretty expensive, more expensive than most. Now Trail House has them beat and for no good reason. Even though I like coming here, I won't be coming back. You lost a customer for life. read more

It's frustrating to me that Trail House is not listed as a bike repair business. The café is fine, but their bike repair businesses most excellent. I live in the neighborhood and bring in my bike for all maintenance and tire repair. They are always helpful, polite, friendly and reasonably priced. This morning I went in to ask them to fix a flat tire. The bike repair doesn't open till 10 but the technician put down his breakfast at 9:30 AM and took care of my tire needs. They are kind and helpful. I highly recommend their bike shop. read more

If you're a Mountain biker or bicyclist, then you'll will fit right on in here. Drop by for a frosty adult beverage to quench your thirst after a long bike ride. I do not bike but stopped in here anyways. This creative idea of bike shop meets food meets taproom cater more to just bicyclists. This is a family friendly and pet friendly atmosphere as well. I saw a lot of people hanging out with their laptops too as well as some dogs on the patio. The food was pretty dang good. These guys can make a sammich. Not to mention you can wash it down with some of the best local craft brew Sonoma County has to offer. These guys carry my fav ! Cooperage and HenHouse. There is a fridge of cold beer to go as well. Very cool local spot with a lot of neat nightly events. I had the opportunity to stop by last night for their weekly Bingo Night, and I think it's safe to say that it will not be my last Bingo Night here. The host is funny, the rounds move relatively quickly, and the prizes are more than generous for no minimum buy in. Each round winner gets a gift card (in increments of $5, $10, $15, and $20, depending on the round) and a pint glass to take home during bingo. I wasn't a winner, but a few of my table mates were, which was still exciting! Onto the establishment itself! Very cool vibe with a small patio, open seating, and a combination of tea, coffee, beer, and food. Taps are mostly local, food ranges form sandwiches to salads to hot dogs and appetizers, and they even have a bike shop within the space. Pretty neat! I didn't eat this time around, but the food that came out all looked good, and I'll be planning to bring my appetite on the next visit. Trivia night is also hosted on Tuesdays, so I may have to switch up days next time! All in all, a neat little spot that I'm excited to return to. read more

We've come here for BINGO and home mic/ comedy night. Both events have been real fun. What's great is that my man can get a beer and I can get tea! They have a great selection of hot and ice tea options (black, green, herbal, selections of each!). They also have okay food. I got the GOAT salad which had mixed greens, beets, goat cheese, balsamic, and candied walnuts. All things I love on a salad! I added chicken that was surprisingly tender and warmed. The BINGO and open mic were also fun events themselves. Open mic doesn't have a lot of signups, mostly friends of the host will say a few jokes for a minute or two, and then they will have a lineup of 5-6 featured comedians. This place is a dream...caffeine and hops, it doesn't get much better than this. I've had the pleasure of stopping in on a few occasions as Trail House is very accommodating for groups and a great place to meet friends for a run, walk or a ride in the nearby howarth/spring lake/ Annadel park. They served wonderful espresso to get you going on the trails and ice cold refreshing beers on tap to rehydrate ( yes studies have shown beer is great for rehydration) post ride/run. They serve a few light snacks such as granola, fresh fruit and yogurt ( which is delicious, I recommend it) pastries and a few savory bites. What makes this place unique and special is the extra service they provide. If you have any bike needs as they also have a small bike shop and mechanics in the back. There are some great places nearby that offer coffee or beer, but this is a nice gem. read more

I had an awesome lunch here the other day. I was in need of a place to work on my laptop, a cup of tea, and something at least moderately healthy to eat. Yelp led me here and it more than satisfied all of my needs. The man who took my order was very friendly and offered some suggestions about lunch options. I ended up going with one of their salads and added chicken. The chicken was nice & juicy and the salad was very large. The tea was great and the overall environment was very clean and comfortable. This is a fun little local place! I met up with my cohort for brunch here and I was pleasantly surprised! It was full of local people; bikers, cops, friends and solo individuals - a great representation of Sonoma County. I wish the menu was a bit more extensive, as there weren't a ton of vegetarian options but their muffins are delicious! Staff is pleasant and quick to produce hot food and delicious drinks. There was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and everyone was very respectful of distance and space. I appreciated the cleanliness of both inside and outside, as well as the bathrooms! New cool spot on the East side of town and it's stylish, fairly priced, and a nice mostly local beer selection. I'm digging it - thrilled that it's here, no it's not cheap but it's also not expensive. Check out the beer menu of Hen House (my fav), Plow, Berryessa, and Russian River breweries plus others. And I would much rather have a Pliny here than at the packed beyond belief Russian River brewery -even if it cost a few bucks more. I stopped in and had a coffee - excellent coffee, it comes from Sight-Glass. 3 bucks for a 16oz cup, yeah I can dig it. I'm tired of going to places and their largest size is 12oz. And the coffee was superb, I like good coffee. The staff was very friendly and engaging which is always good. Cool people saddled up to the bar and a small menu with some interesting items on it, I'm pretty happy. Nice clean furniture - not old sofas picked up off of the street (ouch), cool interior design, and nearly floor to ceiling windows so you're not in a cave like atmosphere. Huge TV at the bar with some cool biking videos of guys flipping, mountain biking etc. And a very high quality tv. This place caters to people with jobs and is nothing like a dive bar - I think we have enough of them and are much more in need of a nice place to hang out that's clean, well lit, excellent product and reflects what we have locally.
