    Pasta fagioli soup
    Jim P.

We heard good things about Tramonti and were excited to try it. As the restaurant is nestled in the heart of downtown Delray, we first had to navigate the always-challenging parking situation. We opted for the easy solution: park in the nearby garage by the Old School square. The restaurant has an old-world Italian atmosphere with white tablecloths, densely placed tables, dim lighting, daily specials and Italian waiters. Unfortunately this vibe also comes with a lot of noise from the closely packed diners. Even though the restaurant was not nearly full when we were there, it was difficult to hear each other speak at our table. And the lights were so low, we needed to use our phone flashlights to read the menu. The menu was also authentically Italian, being organized into appetizers, salads, first course (pastas), second course (beef, chicken, veal, fish) and desserts. The waiter provided a basket of breads, which included a crispy Italian bread that had a crust that was almost too hard to eat. The olive oil on the table was helpful to soften the bread. One person had a bowl of pasta fagioli soup. He said it was very good although not the best such soup that he's eaten. My wife had the chicken parmesan dinner. She said it was delicious. The sauce was excellent and the portion size was quite large. (Half of the meal came home with us.) The chicken parm came with green beans and a potato croquette. Both were tasty. Although the menu lists mostly veal dishes (parmesan, milanese, piccata and more), many of these entrees can be made with chicken instead of veal. I was disappointed with my pasta bolognese. While the homemade pasta was quite good, the meat sauce was lacking flavor. I expected a much more robust sauce. One person had the daily special branzino fish with clams. He thoroughly enjoyed the dish. Another person had the veal marsala, which included mushrooms in a surprisingly thick marsala sauce. While she thought the meal was tasty, the sauce seemed to somewhat overpower the dish. Tramonti is a nice restaurant with above average prices and good service. While some things were excellent, it did not meet our high expectations in all aspects.

Tramonti's has been a classic old school NY Italian restaurant and I am glad to say that it still is! They have a good wine list and I had a nice Italian red. I Enjoyed the price fix special available between 5-6 only starting with eggplant rollatini in a delicious marinara sauce followed by pappadelli in meat sauce which was fantastic with a lot of meat ; both dishes were good size portions. But the star of the dinner was the chocolate soufflé . It was perfectly served with fresh crème and garnished with a few berries. Melting chocolate but not too dense. I will be comparing any in the future to Tramonti's. We sat on the enclosed outdoor patio and enjoyed being outside without having people leering at our food. Service was brisk and attentive. The maître d' was welcoming and seated us promptly. It was pricy but definitely worth it.

Everything about this place is amazing. From the staff to the food. It's an old school Italian restaurant with the charm and atmosphere to match. A bit of an older crowd but classic in the best of ways.

Went last night with friends, none have been previously. Delray was hopping, the rest has inside and patio seating, our resv was inside ...so pretty. Sorta like NYC where ur chair is almost with another table too. We shared calamari which was really delish, so tender! I had the price fix, starter of eggplant rollatini nice, I had the picatta type flounder with string beans and potato cake; it was quite good overall but the potato was like a melted cheese ball, I missed the potato. Husb had the linguine w/ clam sauce white; a few clams that were twensy. We shared a cannoli for dessert, nice, fresh and had a partial filling of cream. The server service was ok, kinda spotty, a lil condescending. Overall a nice experience. Not a 3, but not a full 4.

Beautiful outdoor seating area! I went with a family friend and we both have nothing but good things to say about Tramonti. Highlight of the night was the tiramisu which I highly recommend!

As soon as you open the door to enter the restaurant it is so inviting and elegant. Our server Giorgio was great accommodating funny and eager to make sure all is going well. The spadini is straight out of NYC OUTSTANDING!!!! I have the veal parmigiana also great. The whole table couldn't stop saying wow this is delicious. True Italian food!! Customer for life!

The service here was quick and friendly. We had an outside table so it was nice to take in the Flordia weather as someone who is from New England. Food was delicious, everyone left happy and full

    Risotto with black squid ink.
    Leo Y.

We had a group of sixteen trying to make a reservation, and they were not able to accommodate such large groups. We were understanding, and made two reservations for 8 PM. Sadly, neither table to available at 8 PM, and none were going to open up any time soon. We were able to grab a couple of chairs at the bar and bought some drinks while waiting. Eventually, we saw that a table for six opened up, and went to see if we can have six in our group sit there, and the remaining ten sit at a different table. This was very difficult to explain to the host, but he eventually understood. One of their specials of the day was a black squid ink Risotto, and being that it is one of my favorite dishes, I ordered it. The dish I received was worse than I can make at home, and I would have never served something as bad as this to a guest at my house. As you can see by the clear liquid that it is sitting in, the Risotto was not cooked properly. It was greasy rather than creamy. The black line on the fish is where it was burnt. The fish itself was like chewing rubber, the same for the seafood inside the Risotto. With tax and tip, it was close to $60. With our drinks, it cost my wife and I over $150, for fairly mediocre food and drinks. (Their negroni wasn't any better than we can make at home). Our waitress was great, and that's the only real plus I can give this restaurant. It's not one I plan to return to.

Rigatoni with veal stew at Tranonti

We attended the Art Festival in Delray Beach and read the menu for Tramonti as we passed and thought we'd give it a try. Glad we did, it was outstanding. I ordered the Rigatoni with veal stew. It was delicious! Pasta was al dente, meat was tender, sauce very tasty. My husband had the roasted chicken which he raved about. The other two on our group also had pasta dishes that they liked.

We ordered the Brooklyn Caesar, for the very first time, and to my surprise it was the star of the show today!! Omg!! Please try it! My partner doesn't even like kale, but this was stunning! We also had the kurobuta pork chop which we rarely see in a chain menu, and it was also delicious! Super tender, well seasoned, accompanied by the sweetest chargrilled peppers I've had in a while. Our third dish was the tagliarini al limone, which was also very satisfying. The texture of the pasta was perfect, it had a great bite, plenty of sauce, and really delicious!

We paid almost $100 per person for their omakase experience and it was a complete rip-off. First of all, we left completely starving. There was not one single ounce of protein in any of the courses, and every dish was aggressively salty. The service was just as much of a joke as the food. We never got our water or sodas refilled, and the staff completely ignored every single request we made. They also totally skipped us for the welcome glass of champagne, even though we literally watched them hand it out to everyone else. The most infuriating part was the bread situation. They told us we could not have any because their "upstairs bread oven wasn't working", but we could clearly see them actively serving bread to the downstairs customers. Make it make sense! Also, multiple people in our group had upset stomachs after and could not even stomach the food and left feeling uneasy. They now believe they have food poisoning which is disappointing since we used to love this place! It was also too loud inside and we felt packed as sardines. When we finally expressed our extreme dissatisfaction to the manager, he just gave us a weak "sorry" and did absolutely nothing to make it right. Honestly, the food was worse than cruise ship food and the customer service is completely nonexistent. It was a huge waste of money and a ruined night. Save your cash and go literally anywhere else.

Chef Suzanne Perrotto opened in 2019 and named the restaurant in honor of Linda Rose, her mother. I have been wanting to go for years, but haven't because they don't accept reservations. Everybody seems to have been here from Michelle Bernstein, Guy Fieri, Raymond, Bruce, Greshka, Bill, Martine, Ariel, Quinetlla ... Everyone but me until today!!! Six of us decided to try going early on a Sunday evening off season. We found street parking around the corner. It's too Florida hot to stand outside in the summer heat. There are tables in front, a covered back patio with fans, large bar with a shared table ... There was an open kitchen with a large pizza oven, murals & shelves with ingredients covering the walls. I absolutely love good homemade pasta so this was a real treat. We waited at the crowded bar for :30 until our table for 6 was available. It was frustrating because diners finished their meal, paid their bill & spent :20 scrolling on their phones. While standing at the bar we enjoyed refreshing fruity sangrias. Our server was efficient and on point. The warm bread with butter and olive oil was crisp & delish. My husband & I shared 3 veal meatballs in a delicious red sauce. Couples shared their caesar & gorgonzola salads. For a main my husband & I shared the spicy lamb shoulder rigatoni. The serving was generous , there was lots of tender lamb, with melt in my mouth rigatoni that was full of flavor. Friends enjoyed their shrimp & linguini, roasted mushroom pappardelle & linguini & clams. Our pistachio chocolate mouse cake with white & dark chocolate, flourless chocolate cake, pistachio chocolate & pistachio gelato was absolutely amazing!!!

To put that claim to the test; I decided to take my girlfriend out tonight and give this place a shot! Going in, there was surprisingly a good amount of seating and outside for a place that doesn't take reservations. For dinner, we ordered 1x wood fired house bread, 1x ala vodka with a chicken cutlet, and 1x short rib pappardelle. As for my review; we both agreed that we were both blown away by the food and service. First off, we ordered our food and received our appetizer within first 5 minutes and main dishes the next 7-10. To include, the food also came piping hot which again is almost unheard of. As for the taste; the house bread is essentially a foccacia; which was crispy yet airy and paired nicely with ricotta, balsamic, and EVOO. The ala vodka has a great contrast of cream to acidity from the tomatoes, a nice al dente bite of from the pasta, and tender crispy chicken cutlet! The short rib parpadelle was a show stopper as the noodles tasted fresh and had a nice chew, savory earthy/ creamy sauce, and tender bites of short rib which all together was AMAZING. My only small critique from tonight is that there is a 3% credit card fee which I think should've been disclosed before paying the bill (just FYI). But overall, this is was one of the best meals I've had in a while and will be coming back. Final verdict 5/5 stars!

And after this last visit, I will be passing on any future visits. We had a 6:30 pm reservation for 5 on a recent Saturday Night. That afternoon we asked if we can add one more person (so 6 in total) and were told we'd need to arrive at 6:15 pm. Logistically, that makes zero sense. The extra table seat wouldn't be a problem, and adding 15 minutes for the kitchen for 1 extra meal? But, ok. We arrived to a nearly empty restaurant at 6:15. We are catching up, looking at the menus and within 10 minutes the owner is hovering over us asking for our orders. We ask for another few minutes -- we hadn't even gotten our drinks. He tells us we have 2 hours so we have to hurry. Look, I live down the block from Le Sorrelle. I pass it night after night, and yes, it's has its nights where it is party central. People love to host family events there. But most of the time, this place is sorely wanting for business. And while perhaps Le Sorrelle did fill up after we left, there was plenty of seating when we did slip out, well in advance of our 2-hour limit. As for the food -- I can only speak to what I ordered. A Caesar salad and Pizza Margherita. Both were awful. And I'm really not just saying that because of the restaurant experience that night. I previously had pizza at Le Sorrelle (albeit, years ago now) and it was quite good. Perhaps the cheese pizza would have been. As for a good Caesar salad, run, don't walk to Segreto Italia. Actually, just go to Segreto Italia, because Chris, Joey and Chip will treat you like gold and you'll have an overall outstanding experience.
