Tramonti's has been a classic old school NY Italian restaurant and I am glad to say that it still is! They have a good wine list and I had a nice Italian red. I Enjoyed the price fix special available between 5-6 only starting with eggplant rollatini in a delicious marinara sauce followed by pappadelli in meat sauce which was fantastic with a lot of meat ; both dishes were good size portions. But the star of the dinner was the chocolate soufflé . It was perfectly served with fresh crème and garnished with a few berries. Melting chocolate but not too dense. I will be comparing any in the future to Tramonti's. We sat on the enclosed outdoor patio and enjoyed being outside without having people leering at our food. Service was brisk and attentive. The maître d' was welcoming and seated us promptly. It was pricy but definitely worth it. read more

It honestly felt like because we weren't ordering drinks, we were no longer worth the attention. The service only got worse from there. At the end of our meal, my husband and I waved for nearly five minutes just trying to get someone to bring us the bill. The restaurant was not busy, so there was really no excuse. Our waitress seemed uninterested in being there and completely disappeared when we needed her most. Very disappointing experience overall. We will not be returning. We heard good things about Tramonti and were excited to try it. As the restaurant is nestled in the heart of downtown Delray, we first had to navigate the always-challenging parking situation. We opted for the easy solution: park in the nearby garage by the Old School square. The restaurant has an old-world Italian atmosphere with white tablecloths, densely placed tables, dim lighting, daily specials and Italian waiters. Unfortunately this vibe also comes with a lot of noise from the closely packed diners. Even though the restaurant was not nearly full when we were there, it was difficult to hear each other speak at our table. And the lights were so low, we needed to use our phone flashlights to read the menu. The menu was also authentically Italian, being organized into appetizers, salads, first course (pastas), second course (beef, chicken, veal, fish) and desserts. The waiter provided a basket of breads, which included a crispy Italian bread that had a crust that was almost too hard to eat. The olive oil on the table was helpful to soften the bread. One person had a bowl of pasta fagioli soup. He said it was very good although not the best such soup that he's eaten. My wife had the chicken parmesan dinner. She said it was delicious. The sauce was excellent and the portion size was quite large. (Half of the meal came home with us.) The chicken parm came with green beans and a potato croquette. Both were tasty. Although the menu lists mostly veal dishes (parmesan, milanese, piccata and more), many of these entrees can be made with chicken instead of veal. I was disappointed with my pasta bolognese. While the homemade pasta was quite good, the meat sauce was lacking flavor. I expected a much more robust sauce. One person had the daily special branzino fish with clams. He thoroughly enjoyed the dish. Another person had the veal marsala, which included mushrooms in a surprisingly thick marsala sauce. While she thought the meal was tasty, the sauce seemed to somewhat overpower the dish. Tramonti is a nice restaurant with above average prices and good service. While some things were excellent, it did not meet our high expectations in all aspects. read more

Went last night with friends,none have been previously. Delray was hopping, the rest has inside and patio seating, our resv was inside ...so pretty. Sorta like NYC where ur chair is almost with another table too. We shared calamari which was really delish, so tender! I had the price fix, starter of eggplant rollatini nice, I had the picatta type flounder with string beans and potato cake; it was quite good overall but the potato was like a melted cheese ball, I missed the potato. Husb had the linguine w/ clam sauce white; a few clams that were twensy. We shared a cannoli for dessert, nice, fresh and had a partial filling of cream. Wow is truly all I should say about this spot. But here goes anyway. It was the last night in town for my daughter after a cancelled earlier flight that day. So we got a 8:30 res. We started with some drinks and my Negroni was spot on perfect. We then split some appetizers. The tomato and mozzarella were average fair, but the calamari was other worldly delicious!! Lightly battered just beyond. My daughter had the bucatini with pancetta and I had their frutti de mar. Both were overwhelming phenomenal. Our server was very professional and the spot we sat in was extremely cozy(on the inner patio). The main dining did seem a bit too tight for my liking so I was very happy where we were seated( we're both on the taller side). We had a group of sixteen trying to make a reservation, and they were not able to accommodate such large groups. We were understanding, and made two reservations for 8 PM. Sadly, neither table to available at 8 PM, and none were going to open up any time soon. We were able to grab a couple of chairs at the bar and bought some drinks while waiting. Eventually, we saw that a table for six opened up, and went to see if we can have six in our group sit there, and the remaining ten sit at a different table. This was very difficult to explain to the host, but he eventually understood. One of their specials of the day was a black squid ink Risotto, and being that it is one of my favorite dishes, I ordered it. The dish I received was worse than I can make at home, and I would have never served something as bad as this to a guest at my house. As you can see by the clear liquid that it is sitting in, the Risotto was not cooked properly. It was greasy rather than creamy. The black line on the fish is where it was burnt. The fish itself was like chewing rubber, the same for the seafood inside the Risotto. With tax and tip, it was close to $60. With our drinks, it cost my wife and I over $150, for fairly mediocre food and drinks. (Their negroni wasn't any better than we can make at home). Our waitress was great, and that's the only real plus I can give this restaurant. It's not one I plan to return to. read more

Walked into Tramonti's without a reservation at 5:30 and was immediately seated. The decor brought me back to the great memories I have of classic New York restaurants, particularly Italian. The music was a great compliment to the atmosphere with Frankie Valli playing in the background. We ordered two appetizers, baked clams and stuffed Zucchini flowers, both delicious but a tad overpriced. $18 for 7 small little necks and $20 for 3 Zucchini flowers. I also ordered a delicious Malbec at $14 and the generous pour made up for the small apps. For the main course I had the veal Milanese and my wife had the bracciole with rigatoni pasta, both at $38, huge portions and a very good value. For dessert we split the cannoli that while delicious was a bit runny, and not quite completely refrigerated. Went back for lunch - for years lunch was till 3pm we got there at 2:18 and they would not sit us - lunch now stops at 2:15 - I explained how disappointed it was as their lunch is my favorite --and I had a gift card- and was leaving town.... I have nothing bad to say. Literally we were sat immediately when we came in. The waiter staff was so attentive and made sure we were good. The meatball app was 10/10 (the marinara was super flavorful) Bolognese was super fresh. The noodles you can tell were made in house! 9/10 Carbonara was the entree of the night. My husband helped me eat my food lol 10/10 The portions were great.! Also, he never like bread and oil but the oil here was not too overpowering so it was able to be enjoyed. Forced to return with other family members but had a slightly improved experience on this trip. Although still a very noisy setting, we felt less rushed than previous and the food experience was decent. I had the braciole (Braciola Napoletana Con Contorno Di Rigatoni) because its rare to find it on a menu anymore but unfortunately, I wasn't impressed - ok flavor and a nice portion but the meat was overcooked and dry, this ruined the dish. The pasta and sauce were good. Everyone else at the table seemed to enjoy their dish and I tasted a few dishes that were better than mine. Ordered ceaser salad, burruta appetizer and the eggplant appetizer. All very good. Entrees seafood pasta, veal Milanese and pasta with shrimp and clams. Decent portions and served hot. From out of town, came here after hearing many great recommendations. Unfortunately, did not enjoy this place. Waited 15 minutes past our reservation to be seated. Restaurant is extremely noisy and tables are jam packed. The theme throughout all dishes was the miss on flavor. The spedini appetizer was super heavy and sauce was bitter. The linguine in the seafood pasta was all clumped together and the marinara sauce lacked any type of flavor; this dish was also advertised to come with shrimp, but didnt. Veal parm was way too thickly breaded and way too cheesy; potato croquette flavor was extremely off and the green beans had zero seasoning or cook to them. All the food presentation was beautiful but unfortunately looks better than it tastes. So many incredible restaurants in Delray to experience, this wouldn't be one I would recommend. read more

We had a fabulous family dinner at Tramonti. The service was exceptional! Cozy ambiance inside. The booth was super comfortable! As for starters, we ordered all of the specials: mozzarella tasting, sausage & sautéed spinach, bacon wrapped figs & salad. The sausage & the figs were seriously out of this world. As for family style shared entrees, the carbonara and the penne vodka were both delicious. The veal special was great & the pollo Scarpariello was good. Great wine selection. Family dinner on a Sunday. We were seated on time. No waiting time. We ordered a Calamari to start. It was ok, a little oily. The kids liked the marinara sauce. Entrees selected: Capellini Sassi: just ok. Gnochi Sorrentina: the gnochi it self was good, the sauce not so good. Linguine Vongole: Not great at all. The sauce came watery. Penne Carbonara: This is definitely an alternative carbonara pasta. Not even close to the traditional carbonara. Skip this one. Spagehtti in Cartoccio: This one was really good! Finally a good pasta. The service was fast. The food was overpriced. Not to mention a Coca-Cola fountain drink that costs $8.00. This is unbelivable. Beware of the credit card supplemental charge. I've been coming to Tramonti with my family practically my entire life and to this day it is my favorite Italian restaurant. The staff are so great and accommodating (there's been several times where I've come on a whim with no reservation during season and they have been able to take us which is rare and appreciated!) My favorite dishes are the Spedini and the Spaghetti en Cartoccio which I order every time I go. Great wine selections and cocktails are delicious. The restaurant is always packed, so it gets pretty noisy but the good service and amazing food always makes up for that in my book. read more

I have been dining at Tramonti for nearly 20 years. Sadly, this restaurant has lost its edge and based on our recent experience, it's doubtful that we will return. Our party of six dined here 2 nights ago. It was Saturday night and we had a reservation. We were excited to celebrate with our friends and enjoy some good Italian food. After timely checking in, we were directed to the bar as our table was not ready. The bar was packed and there was little real estate available for our party of 6 to stand, let alone to order a drink. Instead, we hovered over nearby diners and managed to get in the path of servers. At a half-hour past our reservation time, we asked the Maitre de for a status on our table. "Not ready! I'm working!" he barked. Another 30 minutes passed, and despite the evil eye we were getting from the Maitre de, we drew short straws and had that person ask for another update. He was curtly dismissed by the table gate keeper. Finally, one hour and 15 minutes after our reservation time, we were seated near a Christmas Tree (it's June), but I digress. We mentioned to our server, and to the bulldog Maitre de before him, that perhaps they could sweeten our lackluster experience thus far with a complimentary appetizer or glass of wine. The Maitre de, remaining in full bulldog character, was quick to reply, "No! I can't do that!" None of us could hear the daily specials mentioned, so we just ordered off the menu. One diner asked to substitute the side of green beans with basically any other vegetable, but heard the common battle cry of the night, "No! I can't do that!" I had the seafood fra diavolo dish, topped with a few clams that never opened (when you get a dish with only 4 clams and 3 remain shut, one needs to question the quality control). Our water glasses were aggressively filled between ounces, and our appetizer plates were removed within seconds, so at least that part was quick. The bill arrived and a "Supplemental Fee" of about $19 was noted at the bottom. Our server informed us that this fee represents the merchant fees charged by using a credit card. The total bill was over $500, and it came off as a little petty to charge a "Supplemental Fee". Moreover, the suggested tip calculations at the bottom of the bill included the Supplemental Fee as part of the total billed amount upon which a tip should be based. This Delray restaurant was founded by a family patriarch, Gino Silvestri. He has since passed away, and my understanding is that one of his sons bought the restaurant from the other son. Since then, the dining experience has steadily deteriorated. While the food is good, it's not the best Italian food in the area (it should be of better quality for the price), the space is loud, the decor is dusty and dated (it's not Christmastime), and it's past its prime. There's only so much longer that it can ride on legacy alone. read more

I'm a fan of this place and have gone for my birthday because this dish Spaghetti in Cartoccio is absolutely delicious! Im not a spaghetti fan and don't typically get anything creamy but it's one of the most delicious meals I've had and a must try!! Overall it's just great quality Italian food, great service and a lively atmosphere. I had a great experience the first time I ate here. It was for lunch and I had the rigatoni vodka which to my memory was fantastic. This time however, was not the best and it wasn't the food, but the service. Our party of five ordered zucchini fries and mussels as appetizers, both were splendid and very flavorful. My boyfriend ordered a filet which was so good, I wish I had ordered that. I can't remember the name of what I had ordered, but it was good. I was more so full off the appetizers so I had taken two or three bites of my entree before I asked for a box to go. They took a couple of our plates in the back to pack up for us and then they gave us the check. They didn't ask if we needed separate checks when there were two couples and a single, other people ordered WAY more than some of us and we ended up splitting it "evenly" between us. For this next part, I want to preface that one person came from Tampa, two of us came from palm beach gardens and the other two came from boca. They switched our left overs, there was no way for us to switch back due to the distance, so I paid almost $70 for something I didn't even order. This is why I hate when restaurants take left overs in the back to pack up, I can't trust them. read more
