This place is a real gem! Its a 24 hour diner with a retro theme and feel. Places like this need collective support, as diners are a lost art in New York City. Try to come at off-peak times to enjoy a lovely atmosphere. There really is something for everyone at this diner. They have pancakes, eggs, quesadillas, and a specialty greek menu that's popular with the locals.

Good diner with a view of the 59th street bridge and the tram - real New York scene! Food was good, service fast and yet they did not rush us out. There was some outdoor seating, but it was warm out and we were pleased that as a group of two they let us sit in a booth. They offer a large selection of lunch specials that come with soup and dessert, but we just opted for regular entrees. Good to know that a diner like this still exists!

Where can you go to get a decent meal at 3am? This diner was quick and delicious. My friends ordered pancakes and gyro sandwiches. I had a skim hot chocolate with whipped cream. We enjoyed our meal.

Came for an early dinner. I got the deluxe burger with cheese and my wife got a chicken burrito. Both were so large that we took half of our meals home. I asked for a rare burger and it was pretty raw, I didn't complain because it didn't bother me, but if that's super important for you maybe ask for something more well done than you prefer. The staff was super friendly, even giving us free donuts to go on the way out. Will definitely come back.

Great service, super attentive with coffee refills and such a cute area. Big breakfast and honestly the most delicious challah French toast I've ever had. A must!

While definitely nothing to write home about. A cheap NYC diner for the price of the burger ($13) and sit down atmosphere Waitress was very friendly, and we were seated and got our food within 10 min of ordering. Just your standard NYC experience

I have traveled this world from Asia, Europe, North America,…read moreand South America, and let me tell y'all, I have never ever had pancakes like this before. It's clearly evident why the pancakes at the Gold Diner are famous, viral, and most talked about. My husband and I were obsessed with the lemon zest on the butter. I have never tasted a syrup like theirs before. It was fluffy and was giving a bit of mochi consistency (which I'm obsessed with mochi lol). Although the pancakes are the star of the show, the fried chicken is out of this world amazing too bursting with the greatest flavors. Enough about the food, service is straight up top notch! Everyone who works there is passionate about being a member of the Golden Diner. They work as fast and efficiently as possible to get everyone in their doors. Thank you so much for welcoming us with arms wide open and for the best service. You guys are awesome!

The pancakes are decent, though, with a perfect fluff inside and crisp on the outside. The lemon zest adds a bit of tang and flavor to the honey butter's sweetness, which I love. It isn't the best pancake in the world for me, and I'm a little underwhelmed given the hype for this. But I think if I ignored the hype, it's still a solid pancake. It isn't anything crazy to me, though. I wouldn't wait hours in line for this, but if you're a pancake fiend, definitely go here! Service was very efficient and attentive. They were very kind and food came out very promptly. Also, there isn't much seating inside, and there's only one bathroom. If you want to try the pancakes without much wait, then go on a weekday that isn't breakfast or early lunch.

I'll have a chicken salad sandwich but hold the chicken salad and hold everything else. Just bring me the toast. And the food - not serious at all. Service was okay.

The food here is expensive and overpriced for diner food, but you're in Times Square and this is a known tourist trap, so if you go in with the right expectations, you'll have a good time. I got the Be Bop a Lula Burger which came with mushrooms, onions, and bacon and it was a solid burger. I also really liked how crunchy the waffle fries were. Would I normally pay nearly $30 for a burger? No. But I came here to hear the talented singers perform Broadway songs so I just chose an entree for the sake of it. The Sunset Swan Song mocktail was refreshing. They are quick with service which I appreciated. I waited 45 minutes on line outside on a Saturday evening, but it doesn't really matter what your spot in line is. You get seated based on party size!

Fast forward to 2026 (where I'm finally not broke as hell), the day has finally come, and I am ecstatic about stepping foot into this diner that surprisingly is still standing in 2026. The inside certainly feels like a diner, but not quite the old-school dinginess that I'm used to--it's clean. Given that it was Sunday at noon, it was very crowded in there and mainly flooded with tourist groups, but a table opened up for us pretty quickly. For a NYC diner, the menu is certainly small - this is probably done to keep tables moving faster. I got the Pastrami Hash & Eggs and it was just overdone and super oily and dry--almost as if they just refried everything except the sunnyside egg. Not gonna lie, I was very disappointed, given that I had waited for so long to come here, only to get food that was an attempt to give the staleness another chance by refrying and reheating. I actually beat myself up a little the rest of the day for finishing the whole thing, knowing that the oversaltiness was flirting with opening up some high blood pressure. It was also not moderately priced by any means (was close to $30), but I know I'm helping pay for that Midtown and proximity to Central Park pricing. Not sure if I'll return, which saddens me, but also knowing that they're part of a conglomerate at Fireman Group (and still run independently in a sense) makes total sense

With the hopes of avoiding any potential wait time, I decided to stop by on a bright, early Sunday morning at 8:30 AM. There was no line and I was seated immediately, but it was already packed (which indicates the food is top quality). Egg Cream: This chilled beverage has a beautiful appearance, especially the thick foam at the top. The ratio of seltzer, milk, and chocolate syrup were stirred perfectly. It was highly satisfying and a perfect alternative for a traditional breakfast drink. If you are not desiring the chocolate flavor, this specialty drink is also served in vanilla. BBC Omelette: This breakfast plate may have the same initials as the 24-hour news channel, but there is no relation whatsoever. This omelette was stuffed with broccoli, bacon, and cheddar cheese. These are not typically the toppings I order with an omelette, but I was feeling adventurous. It was a wise choice to explore this specialty plate because it surpasses my taste buds by a long shot. I never would have guessed broccoli and melted cheese taste well combined with an egg. A side of hash browns and toast is included. They were the backbone to the breakfast plate. In addition to a great meal, the service was impeccable. After I was seated, multiple servers checked up on me to make sure I wanted a drink. They always passed by and refilled my water glass. Even though the diner was crowded, the service was lightning fast and my drink and eggs arrived in a timely manner. This is a perfect dining experience and I see why they are always busy. #westwaydiner #midtownmanhattan #bbcomelette
