What a fun little spot in Gramercy. It's on the corner of 16th St. and Third Avenue. It seems to be from the 70s. Staff is friendly. The place is a little crusty!! Tho the food was great. My husband loved his cheeseburger deluxe and I had an egg salad sandwich and a cup of matzoh ball soup. I'll come back. It was good and the prices aren't bad! Very local. Zero tourists.

Old school classic diner that has stayed in biz bc they do things well. We tried the meatloaf with fries n matzo ball soup n Greek omlette with rye toast n coffee. All good!!

Classic old school spot! Three of us came at 5 PM on a Thursday for a quick bite. I got the cheeseburger deluxe. Burger could have had more flavor, but the fries were absolutely perfect.

I've been coming here for years, they are renowned for their absolutely delicious hamburgers. Their burgers remind me of my mother in laws whose were divine. I've had burgers all over the city and Joe's for sure ranks up there in the borough. Joe's has a diner counter if the place is packed, there is also outdoor seating on a nice day out. They have a typical diner menu if you didn't come for the burgers, the staff is very friendly and willing to accommodate anyone who might be picky. The bathroom is clean and the prices are reasonable for Manhattan, oh and try the onion soup!!

A really classic small diner serving typical breakfast menu during the morning. I got the pastrami omelette and it is delicious along with the home fries that go with it. Also love the vibe of such a neighbourhood diner with no fancy touches - just serving good food with friendly service!

Old school NYC diner that are sadly disappearing and becoming harder to find. It has a ruff and gruff charm to it. A bit grizzled and worn. Authentic. Cozy. A place where the locals gather. Solid food at decent prices. Friendly and quick service. Not much more to say. Dropped in for a quick lunch and was satisfied. French fries prepared crispy as ordered. Tasty sandwich. Pickle and cup of cole slaw are classic sides included with the meal. If you're the type who needs a place to be more fancy and shiny this won't be your thing. If you just want a decent meal in an old school no frills diner you'll settle right in here.

{Overall: 3.5; Food: 3.25} Atmosphere: 3; Service: 3 Solid, old-school diner in Murray Hill with every diner staple you could want. The food here is what you'd expect from a diner experience. Over the weekend, the restaurant is always bustling - if there's a line, don't worry it moves quickly and they churn out the food ASAP after you order. We had the cheeseburger, meatloaf with mashed potatoes, a strawberry milkshake, OJ and black coffee.

We stopped by here mid-afternoon. This was on my bucket list as a lifetime fan of the hamburger. I flagged down the fella at the counter from the front door. The staff was apparently on a meal break. I ordered mine deluxe as we sat at an enclosed table on the sidewalk. I enjoyed it. The burger was cooked medium, as requested. I admit some of the photos on Yelp appear to be of thicker burger patties, though. Fries and burger were not overly greasy. The thimble sized cole slaw that came with it was an afterthought. I really liked my lemonade. Not too sweet. I will be sure to return some day.

It's clearly evident why the pancakes at the Gold Diner are famous, viral, and most talked about. My husband and I were obsessed with the lemon zest on the butter. I have never tasted a syrup like theirs before. It was fluffy and was giving a bit of mochi consistency (which I'm obsessed with mochi lol). Although the pancakes are the star of the show, the fried chicken is out of this world amazing too bursting with the greatest flavors. Enough about the food, service is straight up top notch! Everyone who works there is passionate about being a member of the Golden Diner. They work as fast and efficiently as possible to get everyone in their doors. Would I normally pay nearly $30 for a burger? No. But I came here to hear the talented singers perform Broadway songs so I just chose an entree for the sake of it. The Sunset Swan Song mocktail was refreshing. They are quick with service which I appreciated. Fast forward to 2026 (where I'm finally not broke as hell), the day has finally come, and I am ecstatic about stepping foot into this diner that surprisingly is still standing in 2026. The inside certainly feels like a diner, but not quite the old-school dinginess that I'm used to--it's clean. Given that it was Sunday at noon, it was very crowded in there and mainly flooded with tourist groups, but a table opened up for us pretty quickly. For a NYC diner, the menu is certainly small - this is probably done to keep tables moving faster. I got the Pastrami Hash & Eggs and it was just overdone and super oily and dry--almost as if they just refried everything except the sunnyside egg. Not gonna lie, I was very disappointed, given that I had waited for so long to come here, only to get food that was an attempt to give the staleness another chance by refrying and reheating. I actually beat myself up a little the rest of the day for finishing the whole thing, knowing that the oversaltiness was flirting with opening up some high blood pressure. It was also not moderately priced by any means (was close to $30), but I know I'm helping pay for that Midtown and proximity to Central Park pricing. Not sure if I'll return, which saddens me, but also knowing that they're part of a conglomerate at Fireman Group (and still run independently in a sense) makes total sense

With the hopes of avoiding any potential wait time, I decided to stop by on a bright, early Sunday morning at 8:30 AM. There was no line and I was seated immediately, but it was already packed (which indicates the food is top quality). Egg Cream: This chilled beverage has a beautiful appearance, especially the thick foam at the top. The ratio of seltzer, milk, and chocolate syrup were stirred perfectly. It was highly satisfying and a perfect alternative for a traditional breakfast drink. If you are not desiring the chocolate flavor, this specialty drink is also served in vanilla. BBC Omelette: This breakfast plate may have the same initials as the 24-hour news channel, but there is no relation whatsoever. This omelette was stuffed with broccoli, bacon, and cheddar cheese. These are not typically the toppings I order with an omelette, but I was feeling adventurous. It was a wise choice to explore this specialty plate because it surpasses my taste buds by a long shot. I never would have guessed broccoli and melted cheese taste well combined with an egg. A side of hash browns and toast is included. They were the backbone to the breakfast plate. In addition to a great meal, the service was impeccable. After I was seated, multiple servers checked up on me to make sure I wanted a drink. They always passed by and refilled my water glass. Even though the diner was crowded, the service was lightning fast and my drink and eggs arrived in a timely manner. Now for the most important part: the food! The fish n' chips are deliciously superb. The cod tasted fresh. The batter was light, crispy, and spiced well. What was noteworthy was the tartar sauce. It has a unique tang to it that made the fish n' chips refreshing despite the fact that it's deep-fried. Maybe it was a usage of lime and celery?
